Sunday Morning
by Alisyn Camerota
New developments this morning in the Balloon Boy story — charges likely to be filed. The dad says he’ll only take questions via a box he’s passing around to the media. We’re happy to send him some. What suggestion would you put in the Henne family’s question box? and did anyone notice the problem with OUR suggestion box?

Good morning Ms Alisyn,
I think they should just hand Dad the bill for the rescue and be done with it.
Good to see you this morning.
chas
Morning Ali & all
I’m not feeling well but wanted to come say Hi!
didnt see a prob with your box, what no bottom LOL
I have no questions for this crazy family! guess, would it have been for publicity, YES & GOT IT!
Ali do you have your intern there to tabulate the game picks today
Glorious day for Texas Longhorns & Texas Tech yesterday!
Ed
By “intern” do you mean chas?
Yes, I e-mailed you about your box, with the following ditty:
==================================
“Maybe Fair and Balanced, so Claims Fox,
But they Misspelled ‘Suggestion’ on their Heene Box”
==================================
“Suggestion” has two “g’s”!!!!
read your “suggestion” on the air. Hope you caught it capmotion
Good morning, Alisyn and everyone. I don’t think CO has any insurance for airborne mishaps. When you buy a CO fishing or hunting license, part of that fee is for insurance if the authorities have to go out and rescue you. The insurance can also be purchased separately if you don’t fish or hunt, but do hike, ski, snowmobile, etc.
Ed GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
LOL Morning for a Sooner Fan!
Nice catch cap.
I agree with Chas, they should make him pay for time and fuel. No questions here
I agree with chas that the bill should go to the Dad, but we are all lucky that someone wasn’t injured rushing to save a child who obviously was in no peril, so I think prosecution for filing a false police report or some such thing should also occur.
I need some therapy bills paid for as a result of this.
Cap I guess I only seen Xerox on the box
but I’m sick & delusional
Good morning, I think if it was a hoax, it’s outrageous that these parents would involve their child in it. I think family services should look into what’s going on in that home. I think they should be charged, and have to pay the costs of the helicopters, police ect.
Those horses were GORGEOUS!!!!!!
Good Morning Alisyn
Well the dad got the Publicity he wanted didnt he…now pay the bills and maybe its over.
Morning everyone.
It’s a shame that it was a hoax. Lanna was very astute yesterday, pointing out that they are actors, after all. Sad to need publicity that much, and even sadder to teach your children such behavior.
Yes they were Sandi! Good Morning to ya
I used to compete in horse shows, and the dream of mine was always to be able to have my very own Lippizaner Stallion. My Dad would just laugh……LOL!!
morning Ali and all,
HOAX ! And he should pay. Thank goodnesss no one was injuried trying to help.
No one was injured? I lost years of my life holding my breath!
Metal Girl! Hiya! I loved those horses, too. My dad laughed at me, too!!
Hi Alisyn:
Although I am disturbed by the Balloon Boy story, I find it hard to blame just the parents when this is what the entertainment media has created in people with the reality shows. Just about everyone gets some sort of payout by doing something stupid. Yes, the family should pay.
Morning to you too Eileen!!! Hope you’re feeling better soon!!!
Morning all,
I agree with those who said Balloon Boy’s Dad should get the bill and it won’t be cheap.
Ms Ali you guys reported earlier that only 20% of the Stimulus money has been spent. Why isn’t the media, including FNC, all over this. The money was supposed to be for shovel ready projects. There have to be a lot of highway projects down south which can still be worked on during the winter.
Ms ALi, you have certainly arrived.
Friday G r e t c h e n got a present from the lamb/goat on F&F and the horses left you one.
I think it was a publicity stunt and agree with Chas that the family should pay for rescue services. This addiction to attention seems like a psychological disorder.
Frank,
I believe that D ave said the amount was almost half, not 20%.
Still, the complaint is valid.
chas
Morning Sterling!!
Well I’m glad I wasn’t the only one!! Dad said I’d get thrown on my butt the first time the horse did one of his jumps!! LOL!! He was probably right! LOL!!
Frank thats just proof this show is the chit
OK here’s a question for the Heenes DO the like the title & Label BALLOON BOY! HAaaaaaaaa
Stop with the “constitutional” problem discussion on the czars – the Constitution provides that there needs to be advise and consent on the positions the Congress decrees, not on all positions, and there has been no decree regarding these presidential assistant positions [and that is what they are], and it is not clear that advise and consent could ever be decreed for presidential assistants anyway. The most powerful person in W’s White House arguably was Karl Rove, who had more cloyt than any current czar does, and there was no advise and consent for his position. [And if you look closely at the fraudulent tricksterism that he parcticed early in his career, which was worse than mere shoplifting, he probably would not be confirmed by the Senate!]
Cap, I agree with teh Constitutional issue. There is one issue I never hear discussed. What is the “budget” for the White House? Where are these guys funded..The White House or the “Department” that they advise about…like the Pay Czar, Manufacturing Czar, etc.
Don’t worry folks, it is only our money!
I have a question for the balloon boy I would like to see answered without the father present. How did he get up into his hiding place?
Aly…good morning! lol
Good morning All, The Heenes’s were looking for their 15 minutes of fame. A bill of $50,000.oo would be about $3300.00 per minute. Worth it?
Retro, great question. The pictures I saw had no ladder or stairs, so someone helped him to get there. What was that person’s name/title…Dad?
never underestimate a 6 year old! I speak from personal experience
Purchased my Holiday Tickets about a week and half ago. After travelling American and feeling liked packed cattle, I bought early and without Travelocity. I rather have leg room and the friendly skys of Southwest.
Ed
John, The Heene family had been on Wife Swap so it was their second or third 15 minutes and this one cost the taxpayers of Colorado.
F&F needs a chit czar after this week. LOL
Speaking of the glorious Lipizzaners, don’t forget that we can enjoy them today because General Patton ordered that they be saved before they be seized by the Soviet troops, who were likely to have slaughtered them for food. Patton had competed against the owner/breeder of the Lipizzaners in the Olympics, respected him, and accordingly ordered that they be put under`American protection for the duration of the war.
Speaking of Patton, he commanded the largest military force under one general in American history, slightly over 500,000 troops, 10 times as many as McChrystal commands in Afghanistan, yet Patton never sat down with the president to discuss his military needs – that is a clear chain of command issue. It is a phony-baloney issue to criticize Obama for not sitting down with McChrystal about his command issues.
If it is proven that this balloon story was a hoax, the courts will take care of any punishment. I am greatly relieved no one was hurt, and saddened that everyone, including me, were ‘on the edge’ of our seats. So much so, I delayed leaving the house, to see if everything was going to be ok. Finally left anyway, as I had an important event to attend…my grandson’s Halloween party!!!! lol
Cap…magnificent for sure, and I actually have seen them perform. Amazing and beautiful! lol
Great info about Patton, Cap! Thanks!
I remember the Lippanzaner story from the old Walt Disney Show on Sunday evenings. Am I getting old?
Ed
GET OUT!!!!!!! This Flag issue IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!!!
Cap, Patton was not under the President, he was under General of the Armies Eisenhower, I think…
If I were a member of the national security team I would have wanted McChrystal in the room while we were debating the policy issues related to his command. Also remember he is also the NATO commander and reports to the Secretary General of Nato.
There has to be something we are not hearing – I cannot imagine anyone being punished for displaying the American Flag. There is something we are not hearing.
“On Size Never Fits All”
There is a reason we have due process.
chas
Cap, I think the problem that most people have with the Czars is the sheer excessive number of them and the seemingly intrusive roles they are given upon our liberty. Most Americans don’t feel as though the executive branch should be meddling with so many things so closely. I agree that the Bush administration abused it’s authority just as every one since Jefferson’s has but Obama’s level of micromanagement is completely unprecedented.
Dog, dont forget the PEANUT FARMER…he also micromanaged for one term.
Whoa, Frank C., all American generals are under the president of the United States!!! The fact he was under Eisenhower [who was not yet a general of the Army at that point] also proves my point – there is a chain of command, and the chain has many links between the filed commander and the commander in chief. There are many, many links between the field commanders in the middle East and the commander in chief, and it would be inappropriate for those links to be disregarded.
Good Morning Alisyn and to everyone on the blog this morning.
I have seen the Lippanzaner Horses in shows twice and I am so fasinated. Growing up with horses, I always wanted them to do what those horses did, however my Father too thought I was crazy. Love the horses and they are certainly beautiful.
Re: Balloon boy, fine the parents lots of money and lets forget the story. Sick of it all ready, let’s move on to more important issues. Maybe like getting the anointed one to send in more troops to help our soldiers fighting for our freedoms. If he can’t make a decision here, then get all of them out of there. Enough said. He is more interested in health care instead of our military and that makes me ill.
Capmotion,
Would you expound on Karl Rove’s early career?
Cap, I disagree that they are directly under the President. You are right there are many links in the chain of command and many Generals are under other Generals…e.g. the CG of 82nd Airborne Division is under 18th Airborne Corps unless detached and attached to a theatre.
OMG wordpress dont do thid to me now
As a member of F D N Y 99-04 I am S ICKEND by this FLAG story!!!
Dog, I don’t disagree that there are serious problems and questions about the czar issue, and you have correctly identified many of them; I just don’t like the pundits and congressmen, etc., blathering about some claimed constitutional problem from lack of advise and consent, because that distracts the debate from the real problems.
IF they are guilty of a hoax, Mary…IF!!! On Wife Swap, and enjoying exposure on t.v., does NOT make them guilty of a hoax. I don’t have a clue, however, they must be able to prove fraud, not just ’suppose’ they are guilty!
Frank, peanuts and acorns are the only nuts the Dems have.
http://americaincontext.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/firefighter-flag.jpg
Is this a preview of things to come?? Since when do people get suspended from work or punished in any way for displaying the American flag?? It used to be a sign of Patriotism!! Now its a crime???
CAP, how comy you are no longer blue? No link?
I think the ‘friends’ of the prez are certainly curious. They do not reflect anything I agree with…he has not made me feel ’safer’ with his choices of adviser’s.
Frank, I didn’t say they are directly under the president; no general is; and, indeed, that was my point – no general is directly under the president, and hence none should be sitting down with the president about command issues. But all generals are ultimately under the president, because he is the commander in chief.
cap, wasn’t Eisenhower the Supreme Allied Commander in WWII ?
Good morning Kevin…lol
I do agree with you Gini abot the “IF” factor. There are a lot of questions that someone in that family better come up with, and seeing little bits and peices on the other channels where Falcon was not feeling well and the parents were answering or not answering to questions that anchors were asking left me thinking they were not being truthful with the media.
Gini,
Good morning to you. Are you holding up well?
Cap, kinda misread your post then…The Chain of Command is a strange animal to those who were not in the military. For example orders are issued by one officer in the name of the Commander (another person).
Hummm..another on line humiliation story. When I was in school, it was done by passing notes. YIKES! Feelings do get hurt while growing up, and I must think it is part of growing up. The world is ‘wicked’ for sure, and dangerous! The lesson’s learned while growing up, should make a person better able to handle the journey in front of them. We alllllll were targeted at least once, I am sure! Seem we survived nicely…on the whole. lol And, of course, never say NOT MY KID! Cause it just could be YOUR KID, hum? ha! Apologies were given, when bad behavior was found out…another useful tool for the journey of life. lol
Kevin; re Rove: Wikipedia reminds us of it most succinctly:
In the fall of 1970, Rove used a false identity to enter the campaign office of Democrat Alan J. Dixon, who was running for Treasurer of Illinois. He stole 1000 sheets of paper with campaign letterhead, printed fake campaign rally fliers promising “free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing”, and distributed them at rock concerts and homeless shelters, with the effect of disrupting Dixon’s rally. (Dixon eventually won the election). Rove’s role would not become publicly known until August 1973. Rove told the Dallas Morning News in 1999, “It was a youthful prank at the age of 19 and I regret it.
==========================
But “prank”? Trespassory entry with intent to steal is burglary! far worse than mere shoplifting. I feel that Rove has not progressed beyond that outlook on life – he is the classic ends-justifies-means operative who has no ethics-based self control.
Kevin,
But, everything is fine here…lol
Hope all is well at your house too. lol
By the by…I can still remember how to use the washer and dryer!!!! ~~giggle~~ lol
Doing fine. Still tiptoeing around, cause I forget I don’t need to be quiet!!! ha!
Jimmy, of course Eisenhower was the supreme allied commander, but that means military commander – the president of the United States gave him his marching orders, through the secretary or war and General Marshall, the chief of staff of the Army. The “supreme” attached to a general’s label does not bring him out from under the president! McArthur found that out.
Capmotion,
Thank you. I was not aware.
Interesting Cap…
When Rove was doing his prank, Obama’s associates were bombing the Pentagon. Gee, Cap, which one should we consider a threat to the nation now?
right cap….I just meant that placed Eisenhower above Patton in the chain if command
If this was a publicity stunt, they should absolutely have to pay for EVERYTHING…. rescue people, National Guard, everyone involved. My thoughts are , that father is a whacko and I would be afraid of what will happen to that child for slipping. I mean he’s only a baby, how stupid that father is to think a child this young could pull that off. I saw the wife swap show they were on and I thought is this guy for real? I figured it has to be staged. I guess not. Throw the book at him and take the kids out of that house. Those kids need a safe home with sane roll models.
I agree Retro…and well said.
I also am a little leery of getting information about things from Wiki since that was the source of total lies as quotes from Rush Limbaugh. Anyone can post there and make up stuff and it is not sourced or verified.
However, politics are a nasty business and I dare say most involved have dirty hands.
Not defending Rove, just pointing out that both sides are dirty.
chas
Secretary of Defense is the senior civilian military advisor to the President and Chairman of Joint Chiefs is the senion military advisor to the President. Notice the word Advisor in both. The Chain of Command at that level is fuzzy.
Frank C.: I wasn’t quite sure what you meant about my being blue! I just don’t usually put my webpage down anymore, because I’m not writing here to get business, but I’ll put it back today.
whooo hooooooo were the chit!!!! BLOGGERS RULE!!!
Gini,
You are a gem. Things are good here too. Thank you.
My thought on the illegal alien costume. I don’t think it should be removed, freedom to wear what we want. However if the costume fits….wear it !
I went buffallo!
Have CLaytoon take his pics based on how good the uniforms look…could not do much worse…
Mary…exactly! I have no trust in the media, so no clue what parts were ‘cut out’, to tell the story. Frankly, I didn’t watch any of it, after he was found safe and sound. I leave it in the capable hands of the Sheriff…bet he can do his job, w/o all the Monday morning quaterbacking, hum?
I tire of this story, with so many important issues to be discussed…like you, wish they would put it on the back burner, and inform us of the results of the investigation. lol
Right, Jimmy, Eisenhower was two steps above Patton, and two steps below the president; there are many more steps between McChrystal and the president, so it would be inappropriate for Obama to be consulting directly with him about command and staffing realities.
Retro: Not either/or, but BOTH!
Kevin…well!! Of course, WINTER is interfering with my ‘mood’, hum??? YIKES! lol ha hahah ha ha ha! I am trying to ‘embrace’ it, however, instead of railing abt it….hum?
Now, we have current video evidence, with Obama’s czars in their recent adulthood, making statements supporting communist dictators, citing Mao as one of their most admired political philosophers who we know murdered north of 70 million people, more than Hitler, and we have admitted communists forced to resign as advisors. I somehow think Rove’s youthful transgression, if that is even accurate from wiki, a bad source, pales in comparison.
I’ll post the picks from the crew after the show.
chas
Cap, that is what I meant…
I would love to explore your chain of command thoughts at length outside of here. As retired military I knew many staff officers who thought they were the commander. However the commanders had the ear of the commander…………..
Thanks Chas I’ll be looking for them!
Retro: don’t get me wrong, I don’t use Wiki for research, but there are times they have succinctly and accurately encapsulated a point [as here] and it makes it easy for me to cut and paste in for these sorts purposes. Rove does not disagree with the accuracy of that point.
Chas…I do agree with that. I guess it’s a ‘dirty game’ altogether, politics…intrigue and compromise being the rule, I think? Most would have at least one thing in their ‘closet’ that was less than stellar behavior? Youth is impulsive, for sure. We just hope to ’survive’ it w/o tooooooooo much damage done, hum? YIKES! ~laughing~ OH MY! lol
Retro, people should read Obama’s book where he admits his transgressions….remember the bible…Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Ergo, there should be no stone throwing in Washington…wishful thinking.
Balloon boy sherif can wear a flag shirt but a Firefighter cant put a sticker on HIS locker!!! THIS WORD is INSANE!!
But, Cap..”.that was decades ago and he was young and should not be held accountable for his naive actions~~~~~ Let’s move on and deal with the problems the American people want us to focus on” ~LOL at least that is the line oft used by politicians!!!!
My picks I posted yesterday
Denver over San Diego
New Orleans over New York Giants…NY G cant stop Saints passing game.
Houston over Cincinnati.
New York Jets over Buffalo
these are some tough games today.
Mercedes: “less than 12 months in prison” for a misdemeanor? Uh…, no; misdemeanors do not result in “prison,” but rather jail. But since you have the honor of being a Fox advisor, I am sure you know that!!!!!!!
You know what, Cap. what Rove did isn’t threatening to remake our country as a socialist state, take away freedom of speech, right of assembly, the right to keep and bear arms, and freedom to freely practice religion and bankrupt the country for generations to come. I have a hard time equating Rove’s joke with what these Obama czars are attempting to do to my country today.
Frank and as reported earlier this month, Bill Ayers admitted to writing the books for the anointed one.
carolynro, I agree that we should concentrate on current problems, but we should never forget about character, a permanent human reality, when dealing with people, and burglary to get a leg up in a political compaign is a question of character that does not change.
Don’t misinterpret me, though: I think there is substantial crookedness in the Obama administration, from the top on down – and indeed, it is at the “down” because it is at the “top.”
Retro
Mary, that way Oanointedone can claim I did not do that…he fabricated it.
Hummmmmmm…I am at a loss to think a 19yr old’s foolish behavior, defines their life Cap…
Right on Retro…Well said…again.
Ok, Cap, and Obama does not disagree with the accuracy that when he was Rove’s age when he pulled a one-time prank, he was regularly doing drugs. So, do you then consider Obama unfit for further high offices as a result? That seems to be your point regarding Rove.
And Frank, remember the anointed one said he “really” didn’t know Bill Ayers. Now this was before he was elected to the highest office in the land. Now all the lies are coming out about this associations, so what is next? Do you guess here? He is not what those that voted for him are seeing is he? So how is that hope and change working for ya now people?
Cap….that is my point…only it is only ignored when it is a left winger who was naughty. The sins of conservatives are held in a grudge and reported as heinous for eons compared to the forgiveness of the likes of Ayers and others. At least that is my feeling. Each administration is allowed to avail themselves of the skills of whomever they want to. It is the hypocrasy of the media treatment of these peopel that galls me.
Retro, you apparently aren’t aware of my positions on things, because I have been warning of the socialistic dangers of Obama since long before he became president, and, indeed, I have been warning about the expansion of all government, and especially the national government, which axiomatically diminishes liberty, for decades. I think Obama defines the domestic enemy to the Constitution that I have sworn to fight many times over the years. But he is there because voters put him there; voters did that from ignorance about what this Republic is all about [or supposed to be about]; that ignorance includes lack of insight about leaders from the right as well as from the left, and I go nuts when I see Fox sponsoring a crook like Rove to attack a crook like Obama – that was the only reason I brought up the topic. They are both dangerous to my Constitution.
I wonder that anyone would want to enter the ring at alllllllllllllll, with all the nonsense. lol
Hi Sal!
Retro: “So, do you then consider Obama unfit for further high offices as a result?:
===========================
Uh…, yes, have I not made myself clear??????????????????
I can tell you that cap and I only vary by slight degrees.
I can tell you that he very much stands a good line on the Constitution, as forthright on it as I do.
chas
I agree character is important, and that is why I totally disagree with Obama and his many questionable associates running the country. I don’t think what Rove did rises to the level of a lifetime character flaw, but the White House communications officer equating Mao and Mother Theresa and admiring them both, does. And a nineteen year old associate bombing the pentagon and a nineteen year old stealing letterhead and pulling a prank does not equate in character flaws. You must be the lawyer who writes these zero tolerance policies that hold a 6 year old with a cub scout mess kit equal to a knife-wielding teenager.
I’m not a lawyer, but I am educated in common sense.
Cap…have been reading your comments for a while now, and do not misunderstand you at all ever. lol Good points always, and food for thought, and they are all crooks and thieves for sure, I am sure. Our constitution has been under attack, fr the beginning, and we are wont to STAY FOCUSED, for sure. THIS prez certainly has gotten the attn of EVERYONE, whether for or against, and 2010 will be interesting…one wonders IF the citizen is paying attn, and will VOTE, or will tire of it all, and stay home again! In the mean time, we worry that ACORN, and that ilk, would steal our elections fr us…yes, much to think abt, you are right, and a person’s behavior is definitely a defining part of who they are.
Cap,
Kevin brought this up when he asked about Rove.

Capmotion,
Would you expound on Karl Rove’s early career?
I think the sensitivity -at least mine is- that for 8 years the media picked at every thing Bush did or didn’t do but have turned a blind eye on most of the things that Obama has done or didn’t do even though much of it is exactly the same policies and lack of transparancy. You are correct- elections have consequences and we don’t seem to ever learn the difference between campaign speak and the entrenched go along to get along behavior once one gets in the big chair.
Gini,
I believe I read you are from southern Ohio. I am from northern Ohio. Yep, winter is interfering with my mood too.
I keep telling myself the advantages: good sleeping weather, don’t have to mow the lawn, my wife makes lots of Chili this time of year (good eats), Thanksgiving with loved ones and friends. Then there is Christmas! I am a sucker for the Christmas lights.
Cap ~~chuckle~~ I sure miss you when you are not here!!! lol
Help…..I am hearing rumors that has to do with pets and health care ???
Good Morning Carolyn.
There you go cap. National acknowledgment!
chas
Kevin..Columbus, actually. Good!!! We will ‘rejoice’ in the coming of winter!!! {I just know I can convince myself it’s okey dokey} and look forward to Christmas, and the holidays..I like that! ha hahah ha ha ha! YIKES…winter coats, gloves, boots…walking to the office fr the parking lot, with the WINTER ‘BREEZE’ freezing my nose! YIKES! oh my…must concentrate on the ‘good things of winter’, hum? YIKES AND YIKES! ~
~
A-stan…here we go rebuilding another country when we cannot spend our stimulus money…We need to spend and do more at home than elsewhere in the world.
Cap- some of us are just getting to know one another
Kevin, Gini is from central Ohio. I’m in south-western Ohio. Brrr and chilly here this morning! Everything is frosty and cool around here today. I’m with you, though, on the weather. Lots of things to look forward to during the fall and early winter, and I too, am a sucker for the Christmas lights!
Must go spend time w hubby- he has to work all afternoon. See you all later. Have a wonderful day
Gini: “Hummmmmmm…I am at a loss to think a 19yr old’s foolish behavior, defines their life Cap…”
===================================
Uh, gini, Alexander the Great was made regent of Macedonia at 16, then took command of the Army and put down a rebellion, and two years later [at 18] was given major military command over several other generals by his Dad Philip [of Macedon], and then destroyed the fancy Greek army in battle. So, yes, I think one’s conduct and character at 19 is signficant about who and what they are. And are not.
I’d rather be on the ‘beach’ enjoying the ‘winter’ lites, hum?? OOPS..now..slipped there for a sec, as I am EMBRACING WINTER!! I forgot for a sec! YIKES! lol
Have a great day Carolyn.
People who try to sell oregano as marijuana…are charged with trafficking in drugs when no drugs are present.
People who go online and then go to meet underage girls…when no underage girls are involved it’s really the police…are still charge with sex crimes when there was no actual victim.
Why not charge this father with “child endangering”…”child abuse”…or even “attempted murder”….this guy is a nut and should not have his children.
JEFF
RISING SUN, INDIANA
Cap…I would not disagree, however, foolish behavior at 19, does not have to define one’s life, I hope! lol The journey however, may define the behavior at 19, to be indicative of ‘who’ one might be, in the end, hum? lol
Retro: “You must be the lawyer who writes these zero tolerance policies that hold a 6 year old with a cub scout mess kit equal to a knife-wielding teenager.”
==============================
Uh, no, I am the lawyer who says to the school board, and other government flakes, on all sorts of such things, “are you frapping kidding me? The promise of the law is proportionality. When those enforcing law lose common sense, the duty of the populace to follow them evaporates.”
Ooooo Jeff…strong words, b/4 proof is offered of his guilt. Yikes! lol
Cap I agree with you on so many things, but I must respectfully disagree about one’s conduct defining their character at age 19. I think that we’ve all done foolish things at a young age, and while it’s appropriate to criticize the conduct, the conduct does not always reveal one’s true character. I do believe that God has given us a soul and a conscience to consider our actions and make amends. I don’t know about Mr. Rove, but in the example of Mr. Ayers, no apology or even acknowledgment of wrong doing has ever been expressed. Thirty years later, that speaks volumes of his conduct, and his character.
bye Carolyn…have a great day! lol
WOW, they have been in office 271 days and only 30,000 jobs created with the Stimulus Money. That does not count the time the “Evil Bush” administration was in office.
Why isn’t FOX and MSM looking into why so little Stimulus Money has been spent. I have seen reliable numbers in the 12-20% range. That is the tragedy of the problem.
Sal, I gave the pivotal example of my concern about Rove. I don’t want to turn this board into a grand indictment of him – I suspect the government will be doing such indue, and short, course.
Hi Sal…lol
The sun just came out! lol YES! lol
What you do in your late teens (18-19) shows your character. Hopefully character improves with age.
Cap
lol
Whoa, yeah, chas; Ms Ali quoted me on the air! It can’t get better than that. Heehheehe. Thanks, Ms Ali. National attention for a mere ‘g.” Gee!
Cap, I think what we are disagreeing on here is a difference in character versus philosophy. Rove made a mistake as a youth that was a lapse in character, but for me it does not define his life’s work. His philosophy is that he loves his country and supports the free enterprise system and to some degree, maybe not as strongly or in the same way as you do, the Constitution. The difference in Obama and his associates is that there is a real question of philosophy- not only are there character flaws, ones that have continued into adulthood, but lack of actual loyalty to the country, the constitution and its principles. For me this sets these people vastly apart from Rove, the previous President, and is a fundamental difference in most of our past administrations, flawed as they were in various ways.
Darn Cap…missed it!!! Was in making coffee! lol
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Feels great dont it Cap!!
Retro…
Well said. lol
CAP got a shout out…way to go Cap, good catch….the spelling error let a little humor in this dreary day
Yeah, it does, me.
I sure hope so Frank! YIKES, but 19 was a dumb moment! lol
Cap, I like you my friend, but I have to disagree with you about Rove.
IF you never stood in the NYC subway system you have NO IDEA how that horrifies us who have!! you think it bad to watch I still to this day stand behind something when the train is coming .
Rmember back in the late 70’s early80’s they had people pushing people in front of the trains ? man!
Praise GOD that baby is fine cause it is the ONLY expaination that bay if here!
Sal, Cap, that is the beauty of this blog we can disagree and have a rational discussion
I had Valentines day do you remember LOL LOL now that was awesome!!! THANKS AGAIN ALI!!!
I agree Eileen…a strange event. re: flag on locker. lol
Hi Alisyn,
Congratulations on your football picks.
Not enough is known yet about the “balloon boy”story to form a conclusive opinion.
You look simply great this morning and your show is good. Fox News Channel and you people who work there sure add to the quality of life in our country these days. Have a terrific W/E.
Paul–Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Good Morning Gini…. yes the sun is out today…and its about time…..lol
it’s the real life that makes us such Fox Fans!! and why we gather here on this blog
What’s a Sun?
I thought that was a male offspring.

Cap got quoted?
I missed that just like I missed it when she quoted me!
GRRRRRR!!!
Good Morning Frank, we have a nice place here…. thanks to Alisyn.
Dog the bright side to that is everyone else worldwide didnt miss it!!
Just sufring and found Rohm Emanuel talking to John King on CNN (sorry Fox I was surfing).
To my surprise I noticed Rohm was wearing an EAR PIECE is it common for guests to wear an ear piece? I never noticed this before on guests.
Who is talking to Rohm ……the Puppet Master?
What time did he get quoted, I have DVR so need to hear it. Way to go cap!
This was a face to face interview with John King he wasn’t in another State or some place else.
My head is going to explode with the absurdity of it alllllllllllllllll! re: Guantanamo/enemy ‘combatants’
Regular guest often have an earpiece isawu.
Some even have their own that they carry from show to show.
chas
it is a very crazy thing if we think about it how many people do you think is viewing this at the same time as us & out of all those viewers
finish that sentance
Why wasn’t the fire fighter suspended for the support chester fire fighter sticker?
If I ever put up a flag I would take it down when they ‘PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS”
Frank C.: Sal, Cap, that is the beauty of this blog we can disagree and have a rational discussion.
==================================
I agree: some of us disagree on the micro-points, but we all seem to agree on the fundamentals, that being we are a Republic designed around the notion of big liberty, small government power, and that power is to be difused horizontally [co-equal, separate branches] and vertically [federalism], and the program is getting increasingly out of whack, by stripping the states of their rights, giving the national government far too many powers, and increasingly leveling economically and socially, which defines the obliteration of individual liberty.
There should NEVER be a flap over an American flag that is flying in our country. Screw the zero policy. Let’s take back our country, please! What is it going to be in months to come here, regarding Christmas? I mean when does this stuff stop? I am getting really sick of all of it, with the PC crowd.
isawu…wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was getting some help w/the interview. However, that said, I don’t think it is uncommon to see an ear piece on someone, while doing a face to face interview…
Doubt over allllllll things associated w/these people, abounds, hum?
Eileen, do you know whats going on with twitter?
Mary when they had the marker & fixed the sign on the box the “g” cap pointed out
Suspended for a flag sticker??
Hey Alisyn, have you gotten a politicoin yet, or would you ‘fail to respond’?
I just got mine from politicoins.com. Hope I don’t get suspended!
stan
Cap…I continue to be amazed the Governor’s were so willing to hand over their States rights, for a few pieces of silver. As far as that goes, the congress as well…I thought that grp would hold onto their power as well…
my twitter is down, too ???
I am exceedingly alarmed and distressed by the flag decal thing. I suspect it will be reversed in short order. Thoughtless reactionism by government managers can cause much mischief.
Maybe Rahm was getting instructions for the WH on what to say? Maybe someone was whispering in his ear, just sayin
Cap, taking away states rights…can you say April 12, 1861…the start of the Civil War.
I believe the piece is for producer directions.
though there could be other applications
chas
I would agree that the flag issue has become ridiculous! Common sense has gone out the window, and we find ourselves debating what should be a fundamental right, and surely respected by alllllll the citizens of this great country. I wonder why the zero tolerance? Has there been an incident which caused this particular dept to have this policy? Must be more to the story, one might think, because on the face of it, certainly seems ridiculous! lol
Good morning everyone.
Cap your 8:34 post is an excellent concise statement which I do believe reflects the thoughts of most here. Thank you.
we have flag decals on our vehicles….and always fly our flag on the 4th of July and other national holidays….and esp. every 9-11…….and have no intention of stopping!!!!
Why wasn’t the fire fighter suspended for posting the “Support the Fire Fighter” sticker?
Frank C.: Cap, taking away states rights…can you say April 12, 1861…the start of the Civil War.
================================
Uh…, you mean the War of Northern Aggression!/? And that is the defining point.
Good morning LizK..yep, it certainly does. Such a great blog, with so many smart people. I sure enjoy it alllllllll, and the conversations that spring fr comments as well as the show itself. lol
Cap, your 8:34 post is what should be quoted on the air.
I have not been able to get twitter all morning thought it was just me
Frank and Cap…got to love you guys…..and yes…it was the War of Northern Aggression !

Cap.. yes we agree.
There are a couple that disagree with the fundamentals of Government here, but they are in the minority.
That said, the Government seems to have other ideas.
chas
Or the War against the Constitution, which has continued ever since.
chas
Cap, being born and raised in New Orleans and currently living in NC, the War of Northern Aggression isn’t over yet.
Men crying?
A real man who knows the whole story could not keep from crying at a well-executed rendition of Danny Boy! [Which I saw/heard last night, with tears streaming down my cheeks!]
If you ever have the chance to see/hear the Ken O’Malley Irish band, the Twilight Lords, you should not pass up the chance.
Frank!!
Me,
Twitter seems to be working for me.
chas
Prisoners get all the breaks, eh?
“Danny Boy” is a haunting song, Cap. Yes…real men do cry…yes! lol
OUCH, prisoners getting vaccine before guards…how do U say stoopid….
Careful folks!
There are some who think that the civil war was about slavery due to their miseducation and will thus accuse you of being racists!
I’m with you, Frank! Here in south GA !
Dog, it is amazing how many people in the North who thing the Civil War was about slavery. The government took away the states rights and continue to do so.
STOP SCREAMIN!!!!!
Alisyn: read your “suggestion” on the air. Hope you caught it capmotion
===================================
Yep, thanks; many of us caught it and some have been commenting on it. I, of course, am too humble to bring it up!
I am so tired of this balloon boy story. Everyone involved in it was stupid. The people in charge of calling in more help should have done their investigation before getting crazy about calling in air support for a balloon that obviously could not contain a human of any age. I think the parents are so far out there that they have lost sight of the welfare of their children.
Why would we be concerned that the Obama administration is over run with socialists, followers of Mao and Marx? I mean really just because this country was founded over 200 years ago on principles that directly oppose these peoples ideas, why would we be concerned? Obama and his administration want to restructure our country and cause us to be part of the EU and a world banking system. He has given up our country’s right to make our own decisions about policy or relations with other countries. Why would anyone be concerned about such small changes in the republic?
I would suggest that people who do not agree with the principles that the USA was founded on and are opposed to our political and economic system as it was determined by our founding fathers go live in the countries that they so admire like Cuba or China or Russia and leave our country alone. The change that Obama and his administration are involved in are not the changes the majority of US citizens were looking for. We want our jobs back. We want industry to return form China to the USA. We don’t want to depend on the government for hand outs.
Morning Friends, I’m with Eileen, headache going nut’s!
However I think her’s is from the game yesterday!! Sorry
That Balloon Dad, oh yes they will make him pay! If that kid had been in there he would of felt the weight of the boy in there, also if you look @ that balloon there was no lookout spots on it hence how in heck would of that kid got in! Goofy family for sure.
What got me up~~~Fireman & American flag. What is going on I think is the beginning of the Un American move & has been happening more & more. Look O wouldn’t even where the flag on his suite, wouldn’t put his hand to his chest. Sick! Tell you these Fireman from around the country will rally. First of all they all have the American flag on there uniforms & the trucks. Are they going to make them remove those also? Think not! I find it very insulting to all Americans that any person can’t fly the American flag where & when they choose. All football players have it on there helmets, police officers.
Maybe we should all start wearing the flag upside down because we are being attacked by the oh so P/C groups & the people who don’t like America! I say Get the Hell out then!
Me, who’s screamin?

Good Morning all, Ali, boys and bloggers
I just finished reading all the blogs here and I agree with all Retro had to say… Can’t believe the show is almost over and I just got here
I agree with Chas… If the balloon boy stunt was a HOAX the family should pay the cost…. Also as far as how the son got in the attic…… He may have opened a regular door and walked up the stairs. My attic staircase is in the ceiling and stairs have to be pulled down. It’s obvious a 6 year old could not do that….
Gini, Glad to see you are well….:)
Alisyn: I need some therapy bills paid for as a result of this.
==================================
We are your therapy, Ms Ali, and we send no bill!!!!
Cap I agree with your 8:34 post as well!! Very well said!
Also, twitter hasn’t been working for me either all morning!! Whats up with that?
Hi Good morning All- Have we not been HOAXED enough-Bernie Maddoff scandal-The bank and mortgage scandals-The latest new WALL ST. insider Trading Scandal-our new administration Hoax on TRANSPARANCY HOAX-It’s seems nothing is sacred-Hoaxing has now trickled down to BALLOON BOY-how pathetic- Yeah-the father may pay a fine but stay tuned for a reality show,book or movie near you.

You all have a good week, be safe, and maybe we’ll meet again.
Heading out to the Indian Pow-Wow. And Wow.
Bye, All, and Ms Ali.
Capmotion,
Again, I thank you for answering a previous question I had. I do have another question for you that I hope you will as cordially answer. In your 7:56 post, you state “…to attack a crook like Obama…” Would you explain why you call him a crook, sir?
Another fine show is over. Thanks to all for the comments and company. I hope everyone has a great week I will post the games selections in just a minute.
Good luck with your picks this week Ms Alisyn. And thanks for the intern job….lol

Have a great day Frank,
MetalGirl… I dont know whats up with twitter….I have been trying all morning,
when it comes up…. I will look for you on there.
Sterling,
If you like Christmas lights, and too from Ohio, you’re A OK. Good to talk to you.
In regards to the balloon boy story….At first I was scared to death that a little boy was up in that balloon as it was soaring so high in the air and flying through power lines. Then when it landed and was discovered there was no one inside I was scared to death that he had fallen out! Now to find out that this was an elaborate hoax by his family??? Yes, stick them with the bill for the whole thing, plus get those kids out of there as it is clear that their parents wouldn’t hesitiate to put them in a dangerous situation. Look at what the stress from this fiasco is doing to the little boy in question! These parents do not have their childrens best insterest in mind, only their own.
Thats just how I feel……am I wrong??
Although I have not recieved confirmation, I believe this list to be correct for Week 6 of the Fox Office Pool:

MetalGirl…. it just sterted working.
Sorry Frank I was telling the LOUD LADY on the Show with the dogs! goodness
Good morning Bajette…lol
I don’t think we should jump b/4 the sheriff has finished his investigation. Indeed, we are alll triggered, by it all, to consider guilt, where there may be none at all. Again..just because they might seek notoriety, does not make this a hoax. I am waiting to see…b/4 jumping to that conclusion. lol I betcha ways to get back into the ‘limelight’ was a regular conversation around the dinner table, hum? Six yr olds don’t always ‘tell’ the truth, and sometimes, what they have ‘over heard’ is miss construed in the telling…Just sayin’…
IF we are going to incarcerate people, we as a society, are responsible for the feeding, clothing and medical attn, for these people. It would immoral to not inoculate the population of a prison. These people are confined behind the walls of the prison. The guards can go elsewhere and get the medical attn they need. lol
OK once more here our our picks
Denver
New Orleans /I went Giants
Cincy
Jet’s /I went Buffalo
An alternative life style, does not make anyone a bad parent! Eccentricity isn’t a crime, YET, in America. Storm chasing does not have an age limit, does it? IF it does, would one be excluded if pregnant? Oh my..what a slippery slope we encounter, when trying to decide, hum?
Hey, just so you know, I change the channel any time the SAVETHEANIMALS.ORG advertisement comes on. There’s simply too much carnage in that ad.
Twitter still doesn’t work for me and now I’m having trouble posting here!!!

Haven’t tried to ‘twit’ for a while…is it ‘broken’???
MetalGirl….something is wrong with Twitter, its not working again.
Yes Gini, theres something wrong with Twitter.

With words as eloquent as yours, Gini, Twitter is just not good enough!
Sterling,
What a great compliment you paid Gini. Perhaps your comment is as eloquent as well.
It’s lunch time. I must help with the chili. Good eats to all.
Thank you Kevin. Gini is my buddy, and the compliment is sincere. She is a doll.
Enjoy the chili! Yum, that sounds good. Maybe I’ll put that on my menu for the day. Good day to you, and a great week as well.
NEW YORK – The Rev. Al Sharpton on Saturday threatened to sue conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh for writing in a column that the civil rights leader played a role in two New York race riots.
In a column published by the Wall Street Journal on Saturday about his derailed bid to become part-owner of the St. Louis Rams, he accuses Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson of making comments that helped get him booted from a group that was trying to buy the NFL team.
Limbaugh derided Sharpton as having played “a leading role in the 1991 Crown Heights riot” and the “1995 Freddie’s Fashion Mart riot.”
Those comments prompted a quick retort from Sharpton, who called both allegations false.
Sharpton was not present for or involved in the rioting in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights section in August 1991, during which hundreds of blacks were involved in attacks on the neighborhood’s Jewish residents. He did deliver a eulogy at the funeral of the youth whose death in a traffic accident triggered the violence, but that didn’t happen until the violence ended.
Sharpton also wasn’t present on Dec. 8, 1995, when a lone, black gunman burst into Freddie’s Fashion Mart, a Jewish-owned business in Harlem, started shooting and set the building on fire. Seven people died. There was no riot.
“Unless Mr. Limbaugh apologizes and clarifies his statements, attorneys for Rev. Sharpton will move forward with a lawsuit,” said a written statement released Saturday by Sharpton’s spokeswoman. “He has the right to criticize Rev. Sharpton, but he does not have the right to accuse him of criminal activity, and riots and murders are criminal.”
A spokesman for Limbaugh, Tony Knight, of Sitrick and Company, did not immediately respond to an e-mailed request for comment.

Crown Heights Riot
The Crown Heights riot began on August 19, 1991, after a car driven by a Jewish man, and part of a procession led by an unmarked police car, went through an intersection and was struck by another vehicle causing it to veer onto the sidewalk where it accidentally struck and killed a seven-year-old Guyanese boy named Gavin Cato and severely injured his cousin Angela. Witnesses could not agree upon the speed and could not agree whether the light was yellow or red. One of the factors that sparked the riot was the arrival of a private ambulance which, on the orders of a police officer worried for the Jewish driver’s safety, removed the uninjured driver from the scene while Cato lay pinned under his car. Cato and his cousin were treated soon after by a city ambulance. Caribbean-American and African-American residents of the neighborhood rioted for four consecutive days fueled by rumors that the private ambulance had refused to treat Cato.

During the riot blacks looted stores, beat Jews in the street, and clashed with groups of Jews, hurling rocks and bottles at one another after Yankel Rosenbaum, a visiting student from Australia, was stabbed and killed by a member of a mob shouting “Kill the Jew.” Sharpton, who arranged a rally in Crown Heights after Cato’s death, has been seen by some commentators as inflaming tensions by making remarks that included “If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house” and referring to Jews as “diamond merchants.”
Sharpton marched through Crown Heights and in front of “770″, shortly after the riot, with about 400 protesters (who chanted “Whose streets? Our streets!” and “No justice, no peace!”), in spite of Mayor David Dinkins’s attempts to keep the march from happening.

Freddie’s Fashion Mart
In 1995, a black Pentecostal Church, the United House of Prayer, which owned a retail property on 125th Street, asked Fred Harari, a Jewish tenant who operated Freddie’s Fashion Mart, to evict his longtime subtenant, a black-owned record store called The Record Shack. Sharpton led a protest in Harlem against the planned eviction of The Record Shack. Sharpton told the protesters, “We will not stand by and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.”

Stupid wordpress will not let me post the second half of that article, so please click on the Wiki link for the final portion.
BTW, not a big fan of Wiki myself, but it does sometimes capture a few of the facts.
Limbaugh did not make this stuff up, and he in fact has a much better case for libel than does Reverend Sharpton. Let’s at least try to get the facts straight.
Sterling,
Stop trying to confuse liberals, far left wing nuts and communist fringe people with facts.
It’s cruel and inhuman.
chas
Nobody is a bigger race baiter the Sharpton. BTW who brought up the race card again? Any guesses?
Okay, I’ll try again another time. WordPress has eaten eight of my comments this weekend. My turn to feed the blog engine, I guess.
Something has to keep the engine running….lol

Hurricane Rick, the strongest eastern North Pacific storm in more than a decade, raged across open seas on Sunday, but forecasters said it could veer into resorts at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula by midweek.
The track of the Category 5 hurricane threatened to disrupt a major sport fishing tournament scheduled to start Wednesday in Los Cabos, where hundreds of fishermen — mainly Americans — were gathering.
The hurricane’s winds were still a howling 175 mph (280 kph) Sunday, down slightly from a peak of 180 mph (285 kph), according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami. But it was projected to move over cooler waters and weaken to around Category 2 status with winds of around 98 mph (156 kph) before hitting land.
Has anyone considered Falcon may have made that statement “I thought you said it was for a show” because they were out their filming an I report/you tube adventure when the mishap happened??????? They filmed little skits all the time..So many people are ready and willing to assume the worst in people..His comment may be completely innocent.
Ms JoAnn,
Of course you may be right, but I have to ask who calls the local News before calling 911?
Just saying.
chas
So, don’t you think Sharpton may have been right in what he did? I do! What do you find objectionable? He did not incite them to riot, but he defended the merchant who was being illegally evicted. He did NOT condone the rioting. He was trying to resolve the problem peacefully.
Therefore, Rush is the one who was WRONG, not Sharpton.
Think about it!
I will admit that Sharpton is controversial and has made comments that could be considered “race baiting”, however he has been changing his tune lately. He also is very good at winning lawsuits, so I do believe Rush should watch what he says about Sharpton. If it’s not true, he shouldn’t say it – and that won’t be easy for Rush! LOL
Maybe Rush doesn’t even care if Sharpton wins a lawsuit against him. I don’t think he will tone down his rhetoric like Sharpton has in the past year. Rush is stepping it up – he thrives on the divisiveness.
Not only a writer but a legal adviser to,interesting
CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY WENT INTO OT!!!!!!
I never trust wanna be attorneys or fake professors. Beware
I bet sharpton didn’t go to college
.
BUSTED: Caught on an FBI Surveillance Tape Discussing a Cocaine Deal
The television show HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel showed a 1983 FBI videotape in which Al Sharpton is seen talking about laundering drug money with former mobster Michael Franzese, a Mafioso-turned-undercover-FBI informant posing as a cocaine dealer. Now you might think something like this might be bad news for a presidential candidate, but to hear Sharpton talk about it, there’s nothing unseemly about it.
Reckless Blowhard
Sharpton made his name and his fame as the one to lead a protest movement after every racially charged incident in New York over the last 30 years (and many elsewhere in the U.S.) Especially early in his career, he seemed content and even eager to inflame racial hatreds at the risk of violence, as long as it gave him publicity and power.
Several of these protests escalated to the point of violence, in several cases by those who Sharpton championed. Examples include the Crown Heights riot of 1991, and a 1995 arson attack on a Jewish Harlem jeweler that resulted in 8 deaths. That attack came months after Sharpton made remarks about the “white interloper”. (He later apologized, saying that he wouldn’t use the word white again in that context.)
There are more stories about Sharpton but they won’t post because the descriptions of the incidents are too sickening for wp….
He’s absolutely no better/worse than Limbaugh! And what about O’Reilly’s comments that most likely had a direct impact on the death of the “baby killer” – his words! C’mon, it’s NO different. Can we rise above the “h-a-t-e” talk on either side? I don’t think we should support or defend anyone who race baits and talks h-a-t-e! But, that’s just me – not you!
I doubt that Sharpton went to college – neither did Limbaugh, Hannity or Beck. That’s why NONE of them can really comment about people who are much more educated than they are – especially supreme court justices – on whom they had no shortage of “opinions”! How about the “czars” that blow them out of the water in the area of “education”? They take them out of context and try to crucify them, and make no excuses for it. Who do they think they are? Laughable at best. But, like you always say “stupid is as stupid does.”
And as Jon Stewart said, “not all conservatives are stupid, but most stupid people are conservative.” Think about it! The conservatives want to put us in a hole so deep we will never emerge – because the let financial institutions run the country. Ask your friend “chuckie” about that! What did Jefferson say about that chuck?
My picks today,
New Orleans over N Y Giants…won
Houston over Cincinnati…won
N Y Jets over Buffalo…lost
2-1…. today
Denver over San Diego…Monday night.
Geraldo thinks it’s fair to tax him on his “Cadillac” plan that’s provided by his employer! I can’t believe that some conservatives are finally starting to come around on this issue. Let’s see more! At least Geraldo is not selfish – like most of them!
I don’t generally come back here after I have clicked off, but I see that Kevin inquired why I referred to Obama as a crook many hours ago. I don’t want to start a new line of stuff on that here, but I don’t want anyone to think I use hyperboles that are not supported by substance. Kevin, I think the guy is bright, and that being the case,
I do not believe that he sat in Rev. Wright’s pew
yet did not know of what the pastor spewed.
And he “promised” us no lobbyists, but has given us a slew.
Then he promised openness; said of him we’d know all,
yet when he’s asked what’s up, he gives us a stall
and some of his czars have the credentials of a baseball.
Ooops, sorry, got carried away. The man does not tell the truth; that is his crookedness.
That is of less concern to me than the fact that he is a dangerous redistributionist, which most know defines socialism [although many of the polite sorts don't want to use the term], which is antithetical to the vision of the Framers. And it is their vision that must be done. If we are to change the character of the Republic, from one of natural, individual liberty to one of commanded egalitarianism, it would require wide-ranging constitutional amendments or a revolution; it cannot be done by legislation, regulation-writing, and well-phrased flim-flammery. But until the electorate decides to lift itself out of its ignorance about what this Republic is supposed to be and takes that vision into the polling places, peril looms close by.
Capmotion,
I thank you sir. I woke up to a good laugh and now I must attend to my morning coffee that is all over the kitchen table and floor. I couldn’t control my laughter.
What a good way to start the week!
I hope your week is good too.
Two girls who swam with pet turtles in a backyard pool were among 107 people sickened in the largest salmonella outbreak blamed on turtles nationwide, researchers report.
The 2007-08 outbreak involved mostly children in 34 states; one-third of all patients had to be hospitalized. In many cases, parents didn’t know that turtles can carry salmonella.
Despite a 1975 ban on selling small turtles as pets, they continue to be sold illegally.
The American Veterinary Medical Association estimates that the number of pet turtles nationwide doubled from 950,000 in 1996 to almost 2 million in 2006.
Morning, Kevin. Sorry about having to clean up the coffee, but I must ask: What is so funny about Cap’s comment? Is he not correct? Whether we agree or agree to disagree on politics, is the Constitution not the law of our land? Was our Republic not founded upon this doc ument? I would really like to hear your thoughts on this, sir.
Have a great week. It’s darn chilly here this morning, only 29!
Changing his tune lately, does not erase inflaming protesters in the past. Rush didn’t say that Sharpton is currently fanning the flames of protesters, he merely pointed out that he has done so in the past. I do not agree with everything that either man says, however, they do currently have the right to voice their opinions under their freedom of speech. Mr. Sharpton however, made up something to make Mr. Limbaugh look bad. My opinion about Mr. Sharpton is that he is trying to deflect the heat that he himself created by libeling Mr. Limbaugh to begin with. He has a weak case, and he knows it, but he will garner much attention for it, and he also knows that.
Sterling,
I meant no disrespect. I found Capmotion’s comment insightful and his ditty quite clever. My comment was meant to be a compliment.
I must get to work before the others do.
You too have a good week. I’m really not liking this cold.
Bundle up, my friend. We have a ways to go. It’s only October!
If O’Reilly is responsible for Tiller’s death then Gore must be held responsible for every act of eco-terrorism that ever occurs. He must immediately apologize to all the families whose homes and automobiles have been destroyed by ELF, renounce all of his ridiculous pseudo-scientific claims and vow that he will never again fan the flames of environut lunacy.
That’s a ludicrous statement DOC, and you know it. Our environment needs attention NOW – and was very neglected for the last 8 years under an admin. that buried their heads in the sand. In 20-30 years the polar ice caps will be completely melted and we are going to have very extreme weather all over the world. No one disputes that. I’m not saying it’s our fault, but we will have to live with the consequences of our eco-unfriendly energy consumption, like it or not. Good luck Dog. You might need MetalGirl to “ease” your pain! LOL
Kevin,
Don’t respect corporate communists! What for? We know what her agenda is, don’t we?
Hey Cap,
What is he supposed to do, run the lobbyist organizations out of town? Easier said than done – they are so strong. What would you suggest to get it done?
The Framers vision was quite noble, but in reality it doesn’t work – not in our modern unethical, immoral society.
Mr. Limbaugh has no problems making himself look bad, he doesn’t need Sharpton to do it for him! LOL
Do you have anything of substance to say this morning, or are you just here to dissect everyone else’s opinions? It’s gotten very tiresome. I have to question your ability to put together a term paper, if it takes you 5 months to do so.
Do some research on your own, and you will find a vast legion of scientists who disagree with the Goracle, and his global warming scam.
The Constitution is the law of the land, missy. To usurp it and the freedom of the people of this country, which is what this administration is doing every day, is tyrannical.
Everything I say has substance – everything you say pushes an agenda!
How would you know how long it takes me to write a “term paper?” LMAO! That’s hardly what I’m doing!
Despite their strong support for this sort of constitutional review, the Framers failed to articulate the manner in which each “department” (or “branch”) should exercise its interpretive powers in relation to other branches. Rather than identify which branch’s interpretations should receive the most constitutional deference, the Framers appeared to have permitted some degree of interpretive chaos, in which multiple branches could exercise the power of constitutional review, but no branch was formally or *informally* bound by the interpretations of others.
Sure, scientists can be bought off, just like you Sterling!
Geezs I don’t know, maybe’ he could ignore them like he’s doing to Fox,we can see how well that’s working
Sure Bruce, maybe he can, but the conservatives won’t let him!!! Write to your congressman!
I’ve tried but he dos’nt speak English, he;s a dem
Well then, write to “Americans for Prosperity” and tell them to stop spreading “corporate communism” by lying to seniors across the country. Fortunately, the seniors are starting to “wake up” to what’s really happening, and we’re seeing more support from them. Geraldo is “crossing over” and he’s still on Fox!
Anyone who has studied history would know that corruption in government has always been evident- it is not an invention of the 20th and 21st century. I suggest that before making proclamations about such things one should read “Don’t Know Much About History” by Kenneth Davis for a quick overview about American History.
A ludicrous statement?
YOU’RE RIGHT!
It’s completely ludicrous to claim that O’Reilly is responsible for Tiller’s death.
If not, then neither is it ludicrous to claim that Gore is responsible for eco-terrorism.
That’s YOUR LOGIC, not mine!
That is, of course, unless you’re just being a hypocrite.
It sure wouldn’t be the first time.
BTW, anyone who thinks that a known liberal like Geraldo is a conservative has to be a far left lunatic fringer!
You said that you’ve moved further to the left since you came here.
Have you taken that final step from being a fascist into being a full blown communist?
I don’t consider the reporting of loss of benefits Medicaid and the decrease in payouts to doctors by Medicaid and the raiding of Medicaid for $500 billion to pay for the health plan a lie. If one availed oneself of the analysis of the bill by physciand one would know the truth instead of left wing propaganda being used by Obama acolytes to pass this monstrosity. There are hundreds of ideas about how to fix what is broken, yet these liberals are determined to push legislation to ruin what is working for a huge majority of Americans. And after it all, in a few short years there will still be 29 million uninsured. There is nothing partisan about that…it is not logical to pass something to cover every one but doesn’t cover everyone. Just that alone should scream something through the mental fog that there is something wrong with this concoction they are working on.
The plans and ideas presented by different groups have nothing to do with “corporate communism” What ever the hell that means. Please define by the way. Many doctors are wondering why no docs are being asked to craft legislation. They say letting a group of people who know absolutely nothing about medicine craft legislation is beyond the pale.
Dog: Some loons also tried to blame the bombing of the Murrow Building on Rush Limbaugh. The lack of intellectual dishonesty is amazing. Predictable but amazing.
So if a group that is picking apart the components of a bill for information is perceived to be conservative it is to be ignored or dismissed but left wing groups who blindly defend and fudge or ignore the truth inside a bill their political agenda are the pinnacle of truth. Wow……
Does anyone have a list of government programs that have saved money? Or paid for themselves? I will wait patiently…..

Fun With Ratings: How’s that Boycott Against Beck Working Out?

“I noticed Stu Burguiere of the Glenn Beck show point out something fascinating on Facebook:
Olbermann 8pm + Maddow 9pm + Olbermann 10pm + Maddow 11pm + 109,000 other people = Beck at 5pm.
So . . . um . . . how’s that boycott against Beck going? The one designed to get him off the air? Sure there have been some advertisers who fled. There have been many more who were never there, but claimed to be part of the boycott.
But does it really matter? Other advertisers are filling the void and Roger Ailes is, so far, perfectly willing to take care of the show.”
And to think Beck has so many viewers before most Americans are even home from work!!!
Liz, as you know, my comment about lobbyists is not answerable by the curt rhetorical query of “what’s he to do???”! Obama said there would be NO lobbyists in his administration; they were unwelcome in his administration. Then he has signed off on 17 waivers of that rule to bring them in, including the following dirty dozen:
Eric Holder
Tom Vilsack
William Lynn
William Corr
David Hayes
Mark Patterson
Ron Klain
Mona Sutphen
Melody Barnes
Cecilia Munoz
Patrick Gaspard
Michael Strautmanis
Daschle would be there too, if his corruption had not derailed him.
It is the dishonesty about that stuff that troubles me to the core, and it is no answer that Republican presidents have also been dishonest, because I loudly condemn their dishonesty also.
I am buoyed by the fact, Liz, that the only thing in my observation that you disagreed with was the lobbyist thing, so now that is cleared up, I am flattered that you apparently agree, by non-contradiction, with everything else. You might come around eventually after all.
Hi Guys and Girls,
This is my last post, kiddies. This blog is getting too strange. I’m not sure what we’re dealing with. We either have weirdos that have entered this blog; or we have weirdos who are posing as OTHER weirdos. Either way, we’re getting weirder and weirder. I know that most of you are NOT weird. On the contrary, I’d like to sit down with most of you over dinner. But the whacked out ones need a shrink; and that is not my field of expertise. So, goodbye. Have a good life. Pray for America.
Sorry to see you go, Roy. It’s a shame that things here have devolved as they have. God Bless you and yours, and America, too.
Well, Miss Carolyn, for all their blowharding about the boycott, it didn’t work, and that’s why they’re not talking about it anymore. Pretty humorous if you ask me!
can’t get through.
Yes Sterling. That is because the majority rules in this country. Good Americans want to keep Beck. He has a lot of people who like him. He tells the truth. That makes all of Obummas fans crazy. I love it.
Blogger, it didn’t work when they first did it and they were lying to everyone about how it was working. That was one lie they kept telling that didn’t turn into the truth. They should admit that it didn’t work but of course they won’t; they just won’t bring it up anymore. LMAO!!
Cap, I agree with everything Ron Paul says! I know most think that’s weird, but I think he could really straighten out this country and get us back to prosperity. Everyone here thinks I’m a “libturd” as DogOnCrack would put it. The conservatives are letting the financial institutions control the country, and that’s WRONG! We need to boot out the “special interests” and do what’s right for the people! Period!
Hey Carolynro – lot of people watch FOX – sensationalism sells! I watch it all the time – and so do a lot of people who strongly disagree with almost everything they broadcast! LOL
Just because they are #1 doesn’t mean everyone agrees with them – on the contrary!
Carolynro – I am against leaving everything “as is” because over the next 10 years that will cost us $2.4 trillion and probably quadruple your health insurance premiums. I’m for putting out about $900 billion now to reform it. Everyone deserves healthcare – not just “illegal aliens” – who, BTW still have to be treated in emergency rooms!
Cap – I suppose you have to fight lobbyists with lobbyists!
What is wrong with Word Press today.
I want freedom of speech for everybody who agrees with me. Everybody else is too controversial. They are racists. They are devisive. They are dumb. It’s okay to lie about them. Just make sure you lie about us too. We don’t want anybody else to know what we are up to.
It ate most of my comments this past weekend, Blogger. I’m sure if you call someone a moron, though, your post will go right through.
In the days before Medicare and Medicaid, the poor and elderly were admitted to hospitals at the same rate they are now, and received good care. Before those programs came into existence, every physician understood that he or she had a responsibility towards the less fortunate and free medical care was the norm. Hardly anyone is aware of this today, since it doesn’t fit into the typical, by the script story of government rescuing us from a predatory private sector.
- Ron Paul
http://www.ronpaul.com/on-the-issues/health-care/
Forced nationalization is the worst possible answer. To get elected, many politicians promise “free” medical care for everyone. But health care nationalization in European countries resulted in longer waiting periods, severe lack of choice, deterioration of health care quality, prohibition of alternative health treatments, higher taxes, and sadly (for some) permanent illness or death because they could not get the care they needed.
http://www.ronpaul.com/on-the-issues/health-care/
There is only one solution that will lead to true health and true freedom: making health care more affordable. Ron Paul believes that only true free market competition will put pressure on the providers and force them to lower their costs to remain in business. Additionally, Ron Paul wants to change the tax code to allow individual Americans to fully deduct all health care costs from their taxes.
http://www.ronpaul.com/on-the-issues/health-care/
Government exists to protect liberty, not to redistribute wealth or to grant special privileges.
- Ron Paul
The lives and actions of people are their own responsibility, not the government’s.

Obama on Healthcare….who can argue with this?
Comment by Liz October 16th, 2009 at 8:02 am
At least I know that if I develop cancer, my healthcare will be paid for – the gov’t. won’t leave me to die and refuse treatment because it’s just too expensive – and the CEO needs a new jet!
It is a disgrace that we have all kinds of crazies who are admitting they want socialism. Where does this come from? What made them so bold? I guess they know they have one of their own in the White House. I have a cousin who DIED fighting communists in Viet Nam. How many did we lose in Korea and then Viet Nam. What this country is doing is an insult to their memory and what they died for.
Comment by Liz October 15th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
We’ll see who’s stupid when the healthcare bill passes with the public option.
Comment by Liz October 15th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
MEDICARE for everyone! Well, that’s how it will be after the next election. We should be able to pull it off after we get them out! Let’s DO IT!

Obama is Poised to Give Control Of America To The World
Let’s test your theory, Sterling. Liberals are morons.
If someone believes everything that Ron Paul says it is impossible for that same person to support Obama care, Stimulus, Bail Outs, Cap and Trade or anything Obama stands for. Obama and Paul are diametrically opposed in their beliefs and political positions and actions they would take for the country to return to prosperity.
http://www.house.gov/paul/bio.shtml
It’s not so far fetched – but first he would have to win as an independent, and that would be next to impossible. He would get rid of all the corruption and all the lobbyists, and he would get back to basics. It would work, but it will never happen, so I am going with the lesser of two evils.
Just another Blogger – change your handle to “Just another Idiot” – that more accurately describes you! lol
Oh no – Sterling’s other sister showed up! How many sisters does she have?
Ha! Told ya so, Blogger! Now try one with idiot. It’s sure to sail through, too!!
Wow, she beat me to the punch, Blogger, but she proved my point, just the same.
Hey crackdog – you’re right – country doctors did treat the elderly for free – but what kind of care did they get? A housecall? Yeah, that should work! LOL
Sorry, but blogger makes no valid points whatsoever – just a lot of name-calling! Idiotic!
The Europeans and the Canadians love their health care – contrary to what the insurance companies want you to believe! Do some real DD – not “talking points” from your representatives! They are in it for the money, not for you! Remember that!

Liz,
Why are you so outraged about name calling?? After all, it seems to be all you know how to do!
Jon Stewart is a brilliant guy – and he knows how brilliant Ron Paul is…..listen to the whole interview!
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-september-29-2009/ron-paul
There’s no wait anyone can argue with Ron Paul – but unfortunately we are locked in this corrupt 2-party system.
Liberal,
I love your posts!! LMAO!!!
I was thinking the same thing sister… she can’t add very well at all..LMAO
I only name-call when I am called names – and only direct it at the people who call me names! Make sense? Of course it does!
And when exactly was it that Blogger called you any name?
Every other post!
Good idea, Sterling. Liberals are idiots….and commies.
Who’s a liberal?
I think the solution is to keep it short. So, here’s my first sentence: They’re falling like bowling pins. First went Obumma’s commie bum, Van Jones.
Why don’t you sisters talk to each other on the phone – and leave the blog for people who have something important to say? Good idea? Thanks!

Maybe in your head it makes sense, they have meds for that ya know…
crackdog – he is absolutely right about healthcare – but with the system in place now, the insurance companies can be greedy and violate anti-trust laws, supported by our government. Obama does want to put an end to that. Paul’s system would definitely work – if given the chance. Like I said, we have to get back to basics! We need a “real” grassroots movement, not a Republican (FOX) one!
Oh I forgot. Acorn was first.

Sorry, but Jon Stewart is more watched for “news” than Fox! LMAO!
Yes, but all the dumb comments here kimberly take away from the ones with substance. Know what I mean? Of course you do!
That’s a lie and you know it. You have always been the first one to call other people names, only because their opinion is different than yours. Again, when did Blogger call you a name? Tell me where I can find it and I will be happy to retract my statement about you being a liar for saying that others called you names first. Where is it?

No, maybe if your grammar were correct..
Now you’re just throwing out insults to try to piss people off. You have contributed nothing of substance today. I’ve never seen Blogger call you a name. Again, show me where. Fox’s numbers are bigger than Stewarts. Geesh. Try to a least make sense. You are becoming incoherent. Maybe you need a nap.
I’m not worried about her, Sterling. Consider the source. When a liberal says something nasty about me, I wear it as a badge of honor.
Just Another Blogger, that’s right!! wear it with pride, I take liberal attacks daily on twitter. Beck could not have found a better title for his book, Arguing with Idiots.
Congress wants the head of Obumma’s child predatory czar. Liz, do you have kids? He’s going to need a job soon. Can he baby-sit your kids?
Welcome Kimberlyfarraj. We need another REAL American.

Just Another Blogger thanks, I pop in from time to time, I’m Sterlings sister. Don’t listen to Liz, she’ll say I’m an alter ego of Sterlings…
Liz, you’re strangely silent. Stumped? At a loss for words? If they rubber cemented you mouth together, your tongue would beat your brains out.
Come on Liz! Say something liberal. We need a laugh.
Just Another Blogger that was a good one, I’m LMAO over that…
Good Afternoon Everyone!!
How goes it today??
Geez, what’s that smell? What died? Oh nevermind…I see it….Hi Liz
Who’s a liberal??????????. Are you kidding me? I worry about people who are CHAMPION liberals and don’t know it. Or won’t admit it.
Ron Paul on Obamacare
It’s Monstrous: Scrap It
July 25, 2009
by Ted Roelofs
Former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has a frank prescription for the health care plan making its way through Congress: Scrap it.
“I think it’s monstrous,” Paul said.
“I don’t think it will improve medical care in this country. I think it’s very, very costly and we don’t have any money. And they don’t have any way of paying for it.”
The libertarian GOP congressman and physician was in East Grand Rapids today for a private reception for what was touted as a “conservative comeback luncheon.”
Paul is skeptical of estimates that peg the 10-year cost of the plan backed by President Barack Obama at $1 trillion. He puts it much higher.
He noted that cost estimates for Medicaid and Medicare are often below the mark.
“On average, it’s two or three times more expensive than they say. This is going to be incredibly expensive.”
Paul has introduced a bill that would provide tax credits and medical savings as a means of expanding health insurance coverage.
There you go: You say you believe what Ron Paul says and he is saying exactly what most of the posters here are saying so I guess you agree with us
thank goodness cooler weather is approaching….lizards tend to hibernate…..so we may all have a pleasant winter and early spring…..
they also tend to be cannabalistic….feeding off their own species when stresed…….
for the most part, lizards survive off the fat that is stored in their tails…..which seems to be detachable when confronted by their natural enemies….
Hoot! Hoot!

I’m surprised anyone is surprised that the left fringe says she supports Ron Paul.
It makes about as much sense as anything else she post.
Have a nice evening.

Sorry Merle, but Stewart has beat out FOX many times! They watch him!
I’ve said many times that I think Ron Paul would be a good independent candidate – you guys just don’t listen. You want to label me a liberal so you can attack!
I support Obamacare over what the Republicans are offering – nothing! Who wouldn’t?
The only way Ron Paul would be effective is if he could throw everyone out of Washington and start over! I’d vote for him in a flash! He’s knows how capitalism should work – without special interests!
Kimberly/Sterling/Bajette – triplets all rolled into one! Sorry, I don’t have all day to chat – would you like me to be around more to answer all your silly questions?
Maybe I should clarify that – Stewart is watched by 20-35 year olds for news! FOX is watched by 50+, mostly white rich males who don’t want to pay taxes.
Don’t remember asking one, except asking you to prove your lies.
But thanks for thinking of us.
I disprove your lies everyday! But of course you don’t pay attention because you have your agenda to push. Do you get paid per post? I bet you are making more money because of me! LMAO!
Later!
You disprove nothing on any day. You can’t even back up your opinions, much less the misinformation that you spread every day. Nice try, turning that around on me, though. Nice to know I stick in your side like that.

Sorry Merle, but Stewart has beat out FOX many times! They watch him!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prove it!!!!!
I woke up this morning to an intelligent, good humored comment from someone who kindly and thoughtfully answered a question I had for him. I appreciated his time and too his clever, light-hearted wittiness.
Regardless of whether I agreed with the individual politically or not, his comment gave me food for thought and put a smile on my face for most of the day.
I would like to end my evening in the same fashion.
Cap, are you out there?
Anyone have any pleasantries to exchange?
You won’t find much of that here Kevin! From the day I started posting here back in May I’ve watched them scare off anyone who has any liberal views in their head. They are mean and crabby. I’m studying them for a project – but some of them are not smart enough to know what they are talking about – they really like to repeat Fox “talking points” over and over. Very sad really. Most of them have hard lives, are disabled or retired, and just like to argue. They are very angry for the most part – and they come here to vent.
Good luck! Cap knows his constitution, but he doesn’t come around much.
LIZ-I haven’t posted since yesterday when I wrote a very good comment on the unemployed and how they are being made invisible by the weekly stats dropping-only because they are losing their benefits-etc- I wrote another comment on our presidency and how if he is liked or disliked is based on all other presidencys on policies-I wrote another comment on Whitepower and the disgusting filth it’s spewing-even to alysin and got only one comment-this is tiresome- No comments whatsoever on the above substansial comments you all could kick around-
I like ROY-are pretty much done here-
I AM NOT PART OF A TRIO-HOWEVER I HAVE A SNEAKING HUNCH-SINCE MOST HAVE BEEN CHASED AWAY THAT THERE ARE ONLY 3 OR 4 PEOPLE LEFT AND YOU ALL HAVE TRIPPLED YOUR NAMES-FOR EXAMPLE-LIZZIE-LIBERAL- POSSIBLY WHITEPOWER???????
Evening to you Kevin. Hope your Monday was pleasant, and if not, well, it’s mostly over by now.
I would like to apologize to you for assuming that you were laughing at the serious part of cap’s comment this morning. It was wrong of me to assume that you meant to express anything but a sincere chuckle at his little rhyme. It’s bothered me more than a bit today, that I reacted that way because that’s not the person I am, nor one I want to become.
Things have been contentious here for a while, and I admit that I’ve contributed to that atmosphere. I didn’t start it, but it offends my sense of fairness for anyone to have their opinions stomped on as if they are unimportant. Of course they are important, and certainly no less so than any other opinion. But that doesn’t change my contribution, and if it’s caused you or anyone else to be uncomfortable here, I sincerely apologize for that, as well.
Good night my friend. I hope tomorrow treats you as well as today.
Liz, my feisty friend,
It is a tough crowd here tonight.
This is interesting….
Sorry to say but I have never posted here as anyone but Liz – believe it or not!
It’s true!
Sterling,
I read here the other day men do cry. I cried, in private, when my father died some years back. Your sincere comment gave me great pause and made my eyes swell.
I’ve assumed much here as well. I’ve contributed to a contentious atmosphere. I am no different than you. I too apologize.
Thank you for some kind, warm words this evening. You have most certainly cut the chill out of this Ohio weather.
Liz,
Do not stop on the health care issue.
For a short period of time, I worked for an organization handling the federal and state regulations requirements for the lobbyists. The money involved was outrageous.
Did you watch the Daily Show clip Kevin? Jon Stewart is one of the smartest guys on cable “news” – even though he pokes fun at it – he always has a political “guest” that he talks straight with. He’s had more conservatives on lately and he gets them to open up to him. He’s a much better interviewer than anyone on FOX, and he knows his stuff. Everyone on college campuses watch him – and that’s where most of them get their “news” because they don’t have time to watch much of anything else.
We will get a good healthcare package passed this year for sure. I’ve talked to more conservatives in the past few weeks who now realize we have to “git it done”!
Have a great night!
I know special interests spend an enormous amount of money to push their agendas. That SHOULD be illegal!
Later.
Liz,
I most certainly watched it. I saw it earlier somewhere else too. A good reminder.
We do need healthcare. My immediate family comprises doctors, nurses and medical technicians. I do listen to them. They are in favor of such.
European astronomers have found 32 new planets outside our solar system, adding evidence to the theory that the universe has many places where life could develop. Scientists using the European Southern Observatory telescope didn’t find any planets quite the size of Earth or any that seemed habitable or even unusual. But their announcement increased the number of planets discovered outside the solar system to more than 400.
Six of the newly found planets are several times bigger than Earth, increasing the population of so-called super-Earths by more than 30 percent. Most planets discovered so far are far bigger, Jupiter-sized or even larger.
Two of the newly discovered planets were as small as five times the size of Earth and one was up to five times larger than Jupiter.
Liz: “Cap knows his constitution, but he doesn’t come around much.”
=======================================
Sadly, it’s true, I don’t come around much, but now I’ve come back to the previous Sunday’s blog twice, something I have never done.
I appreciate the plaudit about my understanding of the Constitution; it is not only my job, but my hobby, and I have intently studied it and the Framers’ intents for many decades. Indeed, the one period in my adult life which brought the least study of the Constitution was during law school: there, sadly and tellingly, is little interest or attention there, which explains why so many attorneys [and hence judges] are ignorant of the Constitution and of the founding premises.
I have to say that one person here who understands the Constitution far more than lawyers and judges I work with and around is my soul brother chas, whose understanding of the fundamental charter and the Framers vision for it is largely equal to mine. [Indeed, some have noticed that you never see chas and me in the same room at the same time, lending credence to the possibility that we are..., well, the same person! You'll never know, because you'll never see us together! Or..., maybe if you see one of us, you have seen us together!]
I sure wish we could see more light and less heat on the blog. [Uh, no, Kevin, I took no offense!]
The jest of Obama’s team going after FOXNEWS is that in saying that it’s NOT a NEWS CHANNEL, its a corporation that makes big profits $$$$$ and pays large salaries. So, they can then put that under the status of regulating, just as they are doing with WALL STREET and the CEO’s………..
At the same time they can CONTROL airways and the TRUTH getting out to the people.
They are just calling a spade a spade! Everyone knows that FOX is NOT a News Channel – it pushes a point of view quite obviously to everyone except the people who use it for their ONLY news source!
Try watching other network news – completely different!!!
This kind of profit is obscene – I wonder how many claims they turned down to make their shareholders happy!
UnitedHealth Group Q3 Profit Rises; Confirms FY09 EPS View – Quick Facts 2

On average, 21 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.77 per share. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.
Total Revenues grew to $21.7 billion from $20.16 billion in the prior year quarter. Fourteen analysts estimated revenues of $21.52 billion.
The company confirmed 2009 earnings of approximately $3.15 per share and cash flows from operations of approximately $5 billion.
Analysts expect the company to earn $3.09 per share.
Well cap, sadly chas never lets us know about any of his knowledge. He likes to post google-eyes though. Is there a blog somewhere that you guys discuss it?
Beck is getting more pathetic by the day – going after and trying to crucify the people who go after him! Ridiculous! That’s from a news channel? I think not!!! That’s a vendetta from a “sick puppy”!
Sharynn – why do you believe that FOX broadcasts the “TRUTH”? Who brainwashed you?
Last night it was revealed that Chris Wallace’s son graduated with Anita Hill’s son – and they both spoke at the graduation. That video was “private” and never should have been released. Gee, I wonder who released it to Beck??? Any guesses???
So then, who does broadcast the truth? And if Fox is purely for profit, which has for some reason been turned into a dirty word, then how do the other networks run? At a loss for altruistic reasons?
Sorry, I meant Anita Dunn….

Kevin:
I enjoy your gentle and polite nature. I also want health care but I think many Americans confuse having health insurance with having health care. In America, it is against the law to refuse treatment to ANYONE, there fore everyone does have health care. It is the cost containment that is the problem:
high premiums
high cost of law suits
high cost of malpractice insurance
high cost of research and development of medical techniques and equipment
high cost of prescription drugs
I do no believe that the government take over of health insurance will solve any of those points.
The Obama administration has done a perfect job of conflating the issues by laying the high cost at the feet of the insurance industry which does all a disservice in the quest for real solutions.
Show me the alternate Republican plan please!!!! Where is it????
How polite we are today Carolynro! A side of you rarely seen! LMAO
Sterling – listen to other points of view and then decide! Are you selfish and h-a-t-e-ful? If so, then FOX is your channel. If not, then you need to listen to the MANY other media outlets!
Hello Sterling! Bajette. Nice to see you.
There have been many Republican plans, but the Democratic leadership in Congress refuses to hear them. The Republicans are as far from perfect as the Democrats, but that’s an unfair statement, that they have no plans for health care reform.
I don’t recall ever saying that Fox was the only news outlet that I listen to or watch. Nice assumption, though. I read and listen to many different points of view in order to make an informed decision.

Anita Dunn has admitted they control the willing media. Do you still think they are legit?
What those other News networks have to say that we dont already know…please,
Fox News is on the right side of my thinking….they tell it like it is.
I am worried about the country being signed into a Medicare plan, which is essentially what government health insurance is. My father was a children’s dentist and as time went on Crippled Children – an old fashioned program for indigent children- paid less and less to the point that the benefit did not even cover the services rendered so my dad had to stop seeing those patients. Like many physicians, he did free treatment for poor families but practitioners can only do so much of that as you have to have paying customers so you can keep the light on.
I watch FOX and the regular channels. Why can’t the white house correct the statements that are made? Beck said, CALL !! He’ll correct the story. Hard to say its a lie when Beck is showing the film clips of the people SAYING those statements or read their BOOKS, and its what they claim in their own stories. Have you notice….Fox has recently started the stories and the regular New Channels pick it up a week or two later. Such as, ACORN, the anti flag stories, etc
Hi John: I agree…just what superiority does anyone see with the other networks other than they spend a great deal of time kissing Opromisebreaker’s a**.
Must-read article on how Obungle is destroying health care:
http://tinyurl.com/yh9444h
Here is a track of Obama’s performance on his promises:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/
Did you ever think that this HEALTH CARE will be great for Insurance Companies. You’ll get so poor of a policy that you will need to buy GAP INSURANCE!!!
Sharynn: This administration thought it would be a walk in the park, getting it’s agenda passed like you know what through a goose just because the phenomenon called Barack Obama. It was a well established fact that Barack does not take criticism well. It is unseemly and really quite Nixonion the way they are reacting to Fox News. I think their attempt to marginalize Fox will only serve to make the channel more popular. Never ever take on an organization that buys ink by the barrel.
Regardless of what you think about Fox News, the president does himself no good by allowing his mouthpieces to disparage that network. There’s no law saying that the press has to agree with every policy of the president, and in fact, it’s important for someone to question the administration. It keeps everyone honest. No one was calling for the other networks to be shut down because they attacked the Bush administration, or any other administration for that matter. We should all be very, very concerned when the president attempts to control the media. Next up is the internet, and sanctions on usage and content.
When the president controls every facet of the media, who wins? The president, that’s who, at the expense of America’s freedom of speech.
Yes, why do senior have to buy Gap Insurance? Because Medicare stinks for some services. Wake up people?
Sterling, they have many plans that contain “NO REFORM” and guarantee the insurance companies continued HUGE profits. Look at the profits that United Health Care posted today! That shows me that they don’t need to keep raising rates – except to enrich themselves and deny much-needed medical care to their subscribers. Nobody should profit from the health of others!!! Blue Cross used to be non-profit, but not anymore! What happened? Did ethics fly out the window? I think so!!!
Watch the Jon Stewart video I posted. The gov’t. can provide the best healthcare!
Gap insurance and confusing prescription programs came into play under the Bush admin. – and on top of that, they wanted to privatize Medicare! How soon we forget!
Sterling: The media is supposed to be the “Third Rail” in politics. It was given special protections from prosecution in exchange for being the nation’s watch dog. It is they who are now protecting the secrecy of this administration and not evaluating legislation honestly. It is a shame that so many young people would so easily sacrifice their futures just to allow the media to prop up this one little man who will be a flash in the pan and will leave a devastated future for them. There is no way these kids can imagine the poverty this guy is putting them into.
There’s no way I can imagine how bad the media has degenerated in only a generation.
Sharynn the other media outlets don’t seem to have any investigators anymore and Fox does. This administration is saying one thing and doing another. It’s hard for them to sneak around with Fox in there face so they thought they would punish Fox. How’s that workin O?
Character assassination by the media is keeping many bright young people from entering politics!
My parents had gap insurance long before Bush was president
The government can not provide the best health care! They bungle everything they takeover. With all due respect, you do not know enough about the health care industry to make blanket comments about insurance company profits. Those profits aren’t from denying claims paid for patients. If they’re only profit was from denying a patient’s claim, they’d be out of business in a heartbeat. The patient pays them. They are obligated to then pay the provider. They make a huge profit from denying contracted payments that are due to the providers of service.
FOX deserves it! They do get in the faces of people they want to destroy! Sick puppies they are!
Sterling, there you go again – repeating your “talking points” over and over! Every time I introduce food for thought, you got back to the old FOX talking points. What’s the point?
Rich and powerful puppies
What’s their excuse for the huge profits? The CEO needs a new jet, but grandma doesn’t need heart surgery!
Oh, sorry – maybe that was under Reagan! They must be very old!
That’s an unfair statement. How is that a talking point? What about your talking points? It’s impossible to have a reasonable conversation with you. Again, you have no experience with dealing with these insurance companies, and therefore you are not qualified to discuss their profits in such terms. You just want to throw out your opinions and your web search information and deny anyone to question you. I speak from experience, and you speak from your internet search and what the professors told you to repeat.
Right Bruce. The outlets like MSNBC have become cheerleaders and have stopped investigating and seem to get their talking points from blogs.
There you go Sterling….you admitted where their profits come from…..
They make a huge profit from denying contracted payments that are due to the providers of service.
How do you justify their huge profits – and why?
Did’t know one could get heart surgery at jet dealership, what will they think of next
Now that FOX has been deemed an “entertainment” network, MSNBC and CNN are #1.
You’re showing yourself for the fool you are this morning. You present no substance for your argument. You are only here to argue for the sake of argument. I’m off to work to pay for your education, and now, your health care. You’re welcome.
Think about it and post a good answer Sterling! Justify their profits! They don’t do much for their profits, and they are not needed – cut out the “middle men” and everyone gets more money for healthcare!
Believe what you want, we’ll laugh to ourselves
I knew you couldn’t do it! Try = and I will look back later for your answer! Later. I have an early class.
OUCH!!!
http://tinyurl.com/ygp5e3o
Liz, they do it the old fashion way they earn it.
No one has to justify profits in a capitalistic economy. All they are obliged to do is pay the taxes by law. The moralistic attitude about making money is ridiculous. Where do jobs come from if there are no profits?
This looks like interesting conversation. I hope you don’t mind my adding my two cents worth. Prior to the last several months, I was somewhat ambivalent in my political leanings. I viewed the two major political parties as different yet alike in far too many ways. So, I have to admit that I was a little indifferent about political matters. However, over the past several months, I have become increasingly alarmed at the course our country is following. We have a president who appears to have deceived us in that he initially came across as sort of “middle of the road”. But now that he’s in office, he has jerked us so swiftly toward radicalism that I think I have whiplash. I was a little uneasy at first, because I heard commentary from James Dobson’s program, called “Focus on the Family”, that said he was very liberal. But I wasn’t frightened because we have had liberal presidents before, and everything turned out all right. This president, however, has surprised me on so many levels! I feel he is much too cozy with or enemies. I don’t mean he is SIDING with them against us. He just seems to trust them too much. He wants to appease them. Also, although I’m not an economist, I know that no one, not even a country, can spend money it does not have. The government now owns too many giant corporations and wants to dictate their operations. It seems we want to make everyone the same financially, even though some people don’t work and don’t deserve a handout.
For Rahm Emanuel say that Fox is an arm of the republican party is hilarious. anyone with a brain knows they are just trying to get Americans to focus on a bogus issue to divert their attention from the lousy economy and the president stumbling around in search of solutions to problems that he hoped would just evaporate with his stunning smile. LOL
Profits are bad When are you guys going to wake up? We are now socialists where profit is a dirty word. Right Liz?
Welcome Clint and great insights.
When a White House stoops to attacking a television channel you know that inside the White House they are in fear of how things are going and that Americans will find out how bad their internal polling is.

Sorry but the n umber don’t lie
The president’s mouthpieces have already admitted to their agenda. They admit that they control the messages from the others in the media. They can’t control the messages from Fox, so they are now attacking the messenger. It’s rather obvious, and it would be humorous if it weren’t so dangerous.
You all are not paying attention to what Liz has said about certain things and are letting her puckishly bait you by saying things she really does not believe. After all, she clearly pronounced that she is an avid Ron Paul supporter [as am I, he being the closest we have had to a Framer since..., well, me!]. We know what Ron Paul thinks about government interference in health care, so too Liz:
Paul said/proposed:
Replace Medicaid with volunteer pro-bono medical care.
Private medical savings accounts, not government meddling.
Insurance companies & gov’t make healthcare unaffordable.
Transfer funds from debt & empire-building to healthcare.
Socialized medicine won’t work; nor managed care.
Managed care is expensive and hasn’t worked.
Opposes mandated health insurance and universal coverage.
“When government takes care of it, the bureaucrats get paid. And insurance companies become the lobbyists, the drug companies become the lobbyists, the management companies become the lobbyists, doctors get squeezed, the patients get squeezed.”
“You have a right to your life, your liberty and you should have a right to keep what you earn. So I do not believe medical care is a right.”
“I would like to see that medicine be delivered in the marketplace like other goods and services.”
“But we need some market factors. We need control by the patient. We need an incentive not to waste our services. We need some tax incentives, and we need to put control back in the hands of the patient.”
I will say this again,
What those other News networks have to say….. that we dont already know……please,
Fox News is on the right side of my thinking….they tell it like it is,
and if you like cnn and msnbc so much…go there.
Clint, don’t feel bad your normal, that being said see we arn’t supposed to know any of that we are supposed to keep our mouth shut and do as we’re told. Darn that Fox for letting the cat out of the bag
Hi Cap….what do you hear from your son? Is he enjoying school?
Hi Sal!
It is warming up a bit here for the next couple of days.
Sorry Cap but most of the time I have no idea what she’s talking about, nor do I care
Thanks for asking, dear carolynro. Yep, he’s having a great time, studying philosophy, German, psychology, statistics, English; he came home this last weekend and we went to a concert by one of the great Celtic bands anywhere, attended a Willie Boy seminar and play, picked apples in Oak Glen, went to the Pow-Wow, did a bit of jeeping…, and then, poof, he was off again. No matter what anyone says, his departure does not get easier with time for me, who am becoming increasingly fragile about the topic. Thanks.
Good Morning Carolyn, here also for the next few days.
We are destroying peoples’ incentive to work and take chances toward starting a business. It seems we view human life as expendable, especially if that life is very young or very old. The young have a snobbery toward the elderly that, I think, is telling of what we have become. The old, we believe, have nothing to offer. Only the young, we believe, count. I noticed that one the posts on this blog cited a program as being more popular than Fox. To the response that denied this claim, the poster responded that YOUNG people liked the program more. It seemed the poster was saying the older people shouldn’t even count toward evaluating the program’s popularity. I don’t mean to pick on the person who typed this post, because your remarks may not have meant what they seemed. Nevertheless, there is a “culture” in this country that is very far removed from decency, what is right, what is fair, or even wise. What was just and good for every generation before is now deemed wrong. It doesn’t seem to matter that the system they criticize has served most of us well for more than two hundred years. I must say, that the self conceit of the young is unwarranted. Some of the wisest people I know are older than 40; and some of the silliest, most ignorant people I know are young. In fact, I am not terribly old myself. But I much prefer the opinion of someone who has lived a while over someone who graduated high school last year.
Hi… Bruce, Cap, John, Sterling.
Good Cap. Sounds like a tough course of study! Aww.. I know how you feel about the lad coming and going- mostly the going. We dropped my oldest off in Orlando to work at Disney and then drove to Atlanta for a conference. I cried the entire drive. It was awful.
My son is a fan of the Irish, too. He is a manager an Irish Pub and has insisted he has Irish blood since he was a small boy. Don’t know why as there is none. He does a mean brogue and works with actual Irish folks from time to time and enjoys putting it on for the cutomers. He did go to Ireland for College graduation with his dad (my gift was to let it be a father and son trip!) and he loved, loved, loved it there.
Clint: I don’t know if you watch Survivor but your comments match exactly what happens on that show. The young are arrogant and dismiss the advice and experience of the older players. Often to their own detriment. The vote out the ones who know how to make a fire or fish or make shelter while they do yoga and sun bathe. They believe their physical agility is more important than the wise council of the older contestants. It is a good study on the shallow (but normal) egocentricity of the young.
Must go…have to walk and do my quarterly tax work as the 25th is nigh….Have a great day all of you!
carolynro: Your son sounds fascinating. Sometimes “Irish” is a state of mind as much as a definition of ancestry. It is interesting to note that the Irish mind is the only one not susceptible to psychoanalysis, so maybe your son is living a reality he does not fully appreciate! My Irish son is studying psychology so he can plumb the depths of that curiosity – and maybe so I can be his first patient! This Irish band is Ken O’Malley, and their stuff, and their technical talents, are really incredible.
If Fox is an arm of the Republican party, the Democratic Party is an octopus. Their arms are NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, PBS, and Hollywood. That makes 8, I believe. At least the Republicans have one arm.
- Fox, shame on you !! I spent a small fortune for a large screen tv. Only to have you cut it down by 25% then brag that the picture is better. Not one bit better!! Again shame on you. I am fighting mad!! You have NOTHING to brag about !!
Narrow screen is NOT what a big screen tv is about !!
Capmotion and Carolynro, I LOVE Irish music! If your son plays it, I like him already. I play a guitar myself; and so many of the tunes I play are Celtic in origin. My surname, however, is not Irish. It is German; but I admire Ireland’s culture and music so much, that you’d think I’m Irish. I guess, to some extent , I am; since most of us in America are mongrels. My mother was of Scotts-Irish ancestry. I have to admit, however, that I don’t know what you mean by your statement that, “..the Irish mind is not susceptable to psychoanalysis.” I’m not saying you’re wrong–just don’t know what you mean. Anyway, it’s nice “meeting” both of you.
Larry, you need to purchase HD service from your cable company.
It’s not enough just to buy the TV.
I am guilty of not reading comments by those who have proven to be mean spirited along the way Cap. IF said blogger had something worthy to say, I am sorry I missed it, but so it goes, for this blogger anyway. I always read your comments, however.
I find your comments very worthy of my consideration. lol
Clint…the Irish have made a huge contribution to the music of America. I too love it!
And, like you, am Scotch-Irish-English-German! YIKES! A ‘mongrel’ for sure, in the true tradition of the American! lol ha! lol
My son is a musician and he is also half German and half Italian! with a bit of Scot and Swede. Nice to meet you, as well.
Cap, I totally agree with what Paul says about healthcare! If he could win as an independent and get rid of everyone else in Washington and start over, it WOULD work. But, we all know that will never happen, so like I said before – I’m going with the lesser of two evils. The way things are now, the insurance companies are running roughshod over everyone, and the Republicans are raking in lots of cash from them (as well as the Bluedogs). THAT has to stop! But, we also need tort reform.
OH, she’s Irish – so that’s where the temper comes from Carolynro! I should have known! LOL
I think it would be great if our reps would get back to the constitution, but they never will.
Hi Liz. I hope you’ll forgive my bluntness, but the group you say is the “lesser of two evils”, in my opinion, is the problem. It is they who are taking us down the course I described in my earlier post. This is not to say that the Republicans are totally without guilt. But it seems this presidency and the Democrats on capitol hill are bent on a totally radical agenda. I don’t mind radicalism if it is toward a goal that anyone should want. We have people at the White House now that are praising Mao, Castro, and Chavez. I do not believe any of these dictators should be emulated by anyone, let alone the president. I admit that I am an avid watcher of Fox News, but I watch all of them from time to time. I believe that if I only listened to the non-Fox stations, I would be ignorant of most of the information I am now am becoming aware of. I’m not sure why that is so. I don’t want to think that they are so incompetent that they don’t know what is going on. And I truly hope they are not that biased in favor of a liberal agenda. I don’t know what to think. I just know I am getting more alarmed by the week.
Liz, If you believe in Ron Paul, why are you for the complete takeover of healthcare? You can’t have it both ways.
Cap…
The Irish are known for their humor, and the ability to view the world unafraid, so “a temper’ might be over reaching, hum? But…one might consider the source, as always, I ‘figr’, hum? lol ha! ~~laughing~~ yep, for sure!!! lol
Rich heritage, poignant songs…yes, one might be proud to call themselves Irish, for sure! The Irish are glad to share w/everyone, I might also add…alllllllll are welcome! lol
Incidentally, Liz, I agree with you that we need tort reform in a big way. I am glad you consider yourself independent. There is too much partisanship going around these days. Obviously, though, you have “weighed” both parties and have determined that the Democrats are the better of the two. I view myself as an independent too; although currently, I am bothered a great deal by the the Democrats. But, the Republicans also annoy me. It is simply the Democrats’ turn to annoy me more.
Clint
Beautifully put! lol
(Comment by Liz )
Character assassination by the media is keeping many bright young people from entering politics!
Character assassination by you is keeping many bright people from posting here. I’ve read back for a few weeks and you are a piece of work. I read you made one comment not long ago where you bragged about how a lot of the regulars don’t post here anymore. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to censor other people’s thoughts. This is America. Everyone has freedom of speech. Even people who you don’t like what they’re saying. If your president is offering is so much better then why do you have to shout so loud that everyone should like it? If it’s so good, then everyone would be falling in line for it. There’s a big problem there that you don’t want to admit to. It makes you all look like you’re trying to boondoggle America, by shystering them like a crooked lawyer would when you have to shout so loud that its so much better, and try to make people believe you when you should just shut up and let Americans decide for themselves.
Oh yeah, I forgot, go ahead and call me a regular posters name. That’s what you do a lot of too. You think you’re calling someone a bad name when you call them another persons name. You just don’t get it. You’ve done a job of letting everyone know what you think now why dont’ you sit down shut up and let someone else speak?
Sorry, I won’t bother you guys anymore, but I couldn’t keep quiet any longer. I’ve read here for along time and it used to be a place were everyone could voice their thought on the news on Alisyn’s show. But not anymore. No one likes to come here anymore because one person ruined it for everyone else. It was great when Alisyn was here during the week, and saw who was saying what. Now since she does the weekend show she never comes around anymoe and everyone who bothers to post here gets hassled by know it all college kids who all they really know how to do is insult everyone they talk to.
Liz talks a lot about the rest of us repeating Fox talking points, to which I plead guilty. They are WORTH repeating. Yet she repeats Obama’s talking points as quoted by Rehm Emanuel ALL THE TIME. A little hypocritical don’t you think?
comment by lizard
I think it would be great if our reps would get back to the constitution, but they never will.
___________________________________________________________
seems like you are beginning to learn something from us after all! Hoot! Hoot!
Is anyone here? I don’t get to come here anymore because i got a second job and don’t ahve much time but isee i don’t miss anything. Too bad same stuff everyday …anyways just wanna say hi…I was hoping that maybe things had changed…oh well.
Do you all view President Obama’s “war” with Fox and attempt at curtailing Freedom of the Press? I was surprised to see various commentators on competing networks criticizing the president for his actions. I guess they know that they all live in a glass house, and if the president throws rocks, it might impact them all. This is still another action of the president that I’m bothered by.
Hi Clint: I view it as a sign that there is something terribly wrong with their internal polling at the White House and that they are trying to marginalize Fox News, which is the only NEWS channel that is analyzing the cost of all of this wild spending and compromising of the Constitution that is part of marginalizing individual rights so that Americans are more willing to turn to government.
Having been an elected person a few years back I learned Rule #1: Do not pick a fight with the media!
So what do you all think about Obama having a fund raiser with the insurance people tonight? HMMMM?
Cap,
Thank you for those kind words. I feel unworthy of the of them, but will not dispute your wisdom. It certainly exceeds my own by a large degree.
What tends to get overlooked here, for various reasons, is my 2 biggest objections to Government Health care, 1) Medicade and Medicare already proved it doesn’t work and 2) There is no such enumerated power in the Constitution giving the Government the power to FORCE people to buy health insurance.
Foolish people might argue that you are forced to buy car insurance, but they fail to understand that it is a State requirement, not a Federal one.
Some people are more interested in telling you how smart they are and how stu[id you are than actually reading your post.
Nice to see you here during the week.
chas
Here we are at the end of Week 6 and the results are:

Obama has free speech just like everyone else – and if he doesn’t like certain media outlets, he’s perfectly entitled to say so – especially the ones that “twist” the truth! I don’t blame him at all. Would you?
He’s not telling them to shut up – he’s just exposing them for what they are – “truth twisters”!
I have never listened to Emanuel! LOL
Oh Monica, who are you? Sterling again? Cade Simone maybe? Caver, Bajette, Kimberly? LMAO!!!
Just trying to keep things real Monica – or whoever you are!
Well Clint, it’s refreshing to see someone who can reason. Most who post here don’t have that ability! Nice to meet you!
Clint, if you watched all media outlets you would know a bit more about the people that Fox is attacking, and you would know that their comments are taken out of context and skewered. I would also like to point out that the political commentators on FOX actually have NO credentials. Check them out and compare them to the commentators on the other political channels – MSNBC and CNN especially.
John, if our whole system of government was reformed and we got back to the constitution, I do believe that Ron Paul would be a great leader. We need term limits – that’s number one – and we need campaign funding whereby no one is allowed to spend more than his/her opponent. Let’s make it fair. No more lobbying and all the corruption that goes with it. That’s what Ron Paul is all about.
Monica, I hope that you come back, but I certainly understand if you don’t. I am very sorry that your prediction was correct.
Funny how much she sounds like you Sterling dear! LMAO! I guess great minds think (and speak) alike!
Can anyone think of another political commentator who would boil frogs on their show? LMAO! What a joke – and it’s not even funny! At least Jon Stewart is funny – and very “educated”!
Let’s hear that national anthem again…..for tort reform!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091020/ap_on_go_co/us_health_care_medical_malpractice
Lizzie You have all the answers… Anyone who has another opinion (in your mind is a moron )
You really are pathetic!!!!
Another observation from the back of the turnip truck.
Now that the Senate has cleared the way to bring the detainees (TERRORISTS) to the U. S. mainland, it seems to me that the administration has a perfect place to hold political opponents out of the reach of U. S. courts.
Hey Lizzie. Was that you and your friends I saw lined up for the stimulus checks today?
Olin…. Lizzie was first On Line
I’m beginning to think the “morons” are morons because they don’t agree with a moron.
If that be the case, I’ll take the title gladly. I don’t like Kool-aid.
Good night all,
chas
Hummmm..well, Monica. I hope you do come back, and HI freckles! lol Busy busy, sounds like. lol Hope you can make it in occasionally. Monica…come back when you have time. One, should not keep you fr enjoying the other great bloggers who come to Aly’s, after all. lol
Just scroll on past, ya know. lol Scroll on past! lol
A Delhi-bound Indian express train ploughed into the back of another near the Taj Mahal town of Agra early Wednesday, killing up to 21 and injuring more than 20, police said.
Local police said 21 had died while railway officials put the toll at 13 from the early morning crash on tracks outside the town of Mathura, 50 kilometres (30 miles) north of Agra in northern India.
Rescuers, working with mechanical cutters amid a huge crowd of onlookers, battled to free people trapped in a badly mangled carriage that bore the brunt of the collision.
The engine of one train had rammed inside the last carriage of a train in front, reserved for the disabled and luggage. Bloodied bodies and people were pulled from the wreckage before being ferried to local hospitals.
CNN Poll: Half the country disagrees with Obama on issues:

Morons are morons in the eye of the beholder.
Bill Clinton: Rhodes Scholar and woman abuser and maybe even rapist. Hmmm love those credentials!
Ward Churchill: those credentials came in handy there. Turns out he was a complete fraud but got through life using fake credentials. Hmmmm love those credentials.
Yes, Sterling. Which has put the White House in attack mode. This rarely if ever works for any White House. Even Bob Beckle, uber lefty partisan, says it is unfair to say that Fox is not a news channel. And, BTW, who gets to decide what Americans should or should not watch. All of a sudden the left is very touchy about who is allowed to have an opinion and how people arrive at those opinions. Why do they never complain about Huf Po or Move On or the Daily Kos? Oh, because it is ok for left wingers to replace opinion for news.
It’s ridiculous, Carolyn. The big majority of what Olbermann and Matthews say are opinion, and if it’s not their opinion, it’s heavily influenced by their opinion, but no one’s calling them out. I guess if you get a tingle up your leg over Obungle, you get a pass.
Well, Sterling, at least they are consistent on the left; consistently hypocritical. They could not get enough of digging around in Bush’s background and now if you waved an Obama scandal right under their noses they won’t even look into it. Although Chuck Todd is asking questions. And now we hear that the white house is having private meetings with Racheal Maddow? How much do they think Americans will tolerate this Nixonian behavior?
I saw that poll last night on Americans not agreeing with Obama’s policies. Not surprising as foreclosures and job losses continue to mount.
And now the tricks that are being used to falsify the actual cost of a health plan are being revealed…..
The abc/post poll that shows a swing toward favoring public option polled 33% democrats and only 20% republicans. The dishonesty continues…..
Hijacking our freedoms and liberties, one lie at a time.
Yep…looks like Obama is better trained to fight Fox than to fight the war in AF.
Clint, I have no doubt at all that Obumma is trying to curtail free speech. He wants to CONTROL it. Or friend Liz tires to minimize every sleazy thing he does and tries to do. It doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t like the fact that Fox is taking him to task which no one else has the honesty or courage to do. As for the Fox commentators not having credentials, check out Bill O’Reilly. Check out Monica Crowley. They have more than enough credentials. And even if everyone on Fox had a 3rd grade education, I still trust them more than the other networks. Fox tells us news NONE of the other networks has the courage to tell. That old uneducated Glen Beck was the first to tell us about Van Jones, Obumma’s commie czar. Old ignorant Glen Beck was the first to tell us about Acorn. Old stupid Glen Beck was the first to tell us about the propoganda that the ERA is putting out for Obumma, in exchange for federal funding, of course. Where were the other “educated” commentators when Beck was telling us about Van Jones. Were they in a rabbit hole somewhere? Where oh where did Keith Olberman go? Oh where oh where did he go? Where was Rachel Maddow? Where was ANYONE on another network? I was here when Liz DEFENDED Van Jones to another blogger. I recall she said he was “the man for the job”. Isn’t that interesting? It’s funny that since old stupid Glen Beck revealed that Van Jones was a 9-11 truther and he resigned, we haven’t heard Liz defend him. Where are YOU, Liz?
JAB: It is amazing that some media outlets and personalities find it necessary to try to control the information by using educational level as a point of character or credential. Why our very president is a college graduate but refused to release his grades! Or his papers that he wrote while in school!
FOX has the guts to let a total idiot rule the airwaves with h-a-t-r-e-d and lies. He is ruining the Republican party (along with the other “commentators”) – only 20% of the American public now self-identify as Republicans. They are splintered up in Maine between a moderate and conservative candidate, and they are trying to destroy the moderate. This does not look good. The majority of Republicans are not on the far-right. Basicallly, they are self-destructing. I don’t know anyone who takes Glenn Beck seriously, except the people on this blog – and that’s why you are so fascinating for my project.
Obama’s approval rating is now higher than any president since Reagan at this point in his presidency! I guess he’s doing eveyrthing wrong, huh? LMAO!
Sorry, but the figure is 59% in favor of the public option – where do you people get your stat?
28% Strongly Approve of Obama.
40% Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -12.
47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve.
52% disapprove.

Where on earth do you get yours? Or do you just make them up, like everything else you post here?

42% of voters nationwide favor the health care reform plan.
54% are opposed to the plan.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/
Just Another Blogger, I have observed what you’re talking about. I do watch the other networks from time to time. I was watching CNN a few days back when Rick Sanchez apologized to Limbaugh for reporting as facts information he had not verified. And I also have heard about a couple of things that looked a little strange about Fox’s reporting. I think all of them, with no exceptions, have an agenda–either liberal or conservative. That is why I carefully evaluate everything I hear. If a reporter tells something and verifies his or her remarks with backup verification, I accept the remarks as probably accurate. I have heard some pretty incredible things from Beck, and I haven’t taken all of it seriously. But, yes, he was accurate about a couple of major stories that the other networks later verified. So, I hear what you’re saying. But, I also hear what Liz is saying about Fox being a little biased toward the right. They are biased toward the right, just as the other networks slant toward the left. I don’t deny bias on any of their parts. My concern is that if a liberal president can stifle the voice of a conservative network, a conservative president could restrain speech of a conservative commentator. No matter who does it, it is not an American thing to do as defined by the first ammendment.
COMRADES!!!

Obama Favorability Falls Below Bush’s At Same Point In Presidency
by Rachel Marsden
08/03/2009
This week, President Barack Obama’s public approval rating of 54% (according to the latest Gallup figures) slipped to the lowest of his presidency thus far, 2% below that of former President George W. Bush’s Gallup numbers at precisely the same point in his tenure. Consider that Bush had a leftist-dominated media stacked against him in the wake of having “stolen” the election from their man, Al Gore, while Obama’s only real opponent has been himself. And Bush started out at 57%, while Obama has appeared to have squandered the 68% rating he enjoyed out of the gate.
Truth to Power…Speak the Truth.
Correction: I meant that to say (second line from the bottom, above) “…a conservative president can restrain speech of a LIBERAL commentator”. Yikes!
Rasmussen Report Oct 20, 2009
Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Fifty percent (52%) disapprove.
People who buy books seem to take Glenn seriously.
People who watch TV seem to take Glenn seriously.
People who listen to the radio seem to take Glenn seriously.
People who work in the WHITE HOUSE seem to take Glenn seriously! LMAO!!!
Clint – the president was expressing his opinion – NOT trying to violate the first amendent. He has every right to do that – especially when lies are flying like pigs!
I know of a few who take Beck seriously Liz. How about the MILLIONS of Americans who watch him every day and have made him Number # 1? If no one takes him seriiously, why did Van Jones have to resign? Why is Acorn a national joke now? Huh? Come on. Give me and answer IF YOU CAN.
Your stats are all wrong – but that’s what the conservatives like to do – lie! Look at Pew Research – unbiased and bipartisan!
FYI Liz. Pigs don’t really fly! LOL.
Good Morning all

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And your facts come from where??????
ACORN is not a national joke. It’s legitimate and was used by ALL administrations – especially the Bush admin. He thought the black and hispanic votes were important – very unlike the “new” Republican party, who wants to alienate all minorities. That’s why their base is so small. Sure, they DO need to be investigated and “fixed”! Beck is NOT #1 – I think O’Reilly is – and he is watched by rich white men over 50 – that’s his audience. Beck is watched for entertainment purposes only – and by “fringers” who can figure him out. Looks to me like he’s just trying to “settle some scores” with people who have dissed him.
Does anyone else here think it’s fair that the guy whose wife has cancer had to join the army in order to get her the medical treatment she deserves. He lost his job, so he had to join the army to get her covered. Is that fair? Happens all the time!
So who do we put in charge of which news outlets are allowed and which companies are allowed to make a profit and how much profit they are allowed to make? You or Obummer? Socialists?
Obama’s Poll Numbers Are Falling to Earth
By DOUGLAS E. SCHOEN and SCOTT RASMUSSEN
It is simply wrong for commentators to continue to focus on President Barack Obama’s high levels of popularity, and to conclude that these are indicative of high levels of public confidence in the work of his administration. Indeed, a detailed look at recent survey data shows that the opposite is most likely true. The American people are coming to express increasingly significant doubts about his initiatives, and most likely support a different agenda and different policies from those that the Obama administration has advanced.
Polling data show that Mr. Obama’s approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001. Rasmussen Reports data shows that Mr. Obama’s net presidential approval rating — which is calculated by subtracting the number who strongly disapprove from the number who strongly approve — is just six, his lowest rating to date.
Doug Schoen is a democrat
From Gallup:
“In the third quarter of this year, 48% of Americans identified politically as Democrats or said they were independent but leaned to the Democratic Party. At the same time, 42% identified as Republicans or as independents who leaned Republican. That six-point spread in leaned party affiliation is the smallest Gallup has measured since 2005.
These results are based on an average of five Gallup and USA Today/Gallup polls conducted in the third quarter of 2009, encompassing interviews with more than 5,000 U.S. adults. Gallup’s Daily tracking survey — established in 2008 — has shown a similar narrowing of the party support gap in recent months. …
Since Barack Obama took office as president in January, the Democratic advantage in leaned party identification has shrunk each quarter, from 13 points in the first quarter (52% to 39%) to 9 points in the second quarter (49% to 40%) and 6 points in the most recent quarter (48% to 42%).”
Just remember this. If we get a health care plan with a public option it will be Bush’s fault!!!!
I hear the liberal apologists now claiming that TARP, which was not opposed by liberals, is working. Wasn’t that Bush’s fault too?
Hey, it just occurred to me that perhaps I have been doing someone’s homework for them!
Liz: As soon as you figure out that Life Is Not Fair, you will begin on your path to maturity.
The Pennsylvania governor made a misleading statement about the Health Insurance coverage that is available in Pennsylvania. He said United Health did not have a presence in the state – but they do have a presence with their Individual Insurance plans covered under UnitedHealthOne or Golden Rule Insurance. Since the debate seems to be about individuals not having coverage (not about Employer sponsored plans) this was an extremely misleading comment to make in the discussion.
That’s a very selfish comment Carolynro – you fit in with the h-a-t-e-ful Republican party beautifully. Of course, the guy who had to join the army should have had a half million in the bank by now to cover his wife’s illness….makes perfect sense!
Yes, TARP worked out beautifully for the banks – they got to rip off the taxpayers and continue making huge profits – no strings attached!
This is the poll you need to look at I guess…..average…..
My president’s safe schools czar is wonderful. I’m going to let him babysit my little boy. He really loves kids, especially boys. He says he’s going to bring some of his friends along. That way, they can love my boy too. Thank you Mr. President for choosing such a LOVING Safe Schools Czar.
Wow Liz – I am a “rich white” man “over 50″?
Well, you are an oddity Diana for sure!
Check out how Obama’s ratings have come up in October!
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latestpolls/state_of_the_union.html
Over 70% of women in this country identify themselves as Democrats or Independents – and that number may be higher. That’s because I think women tend to be more compassionate and “nurturing” – it’s a gender thing.
There is nothing selfish about stating a fact. Show me how you make all things fair for all people and perhaps we can discuss.
You are just picking a fight now.
You should be so lucky Liberal! He’s very well qualified for the job. Hannity would like to assassinate his character, but it’s not working!
Obama voted for TARP.
You wanna fight? Is that the fighting Irish coming out in you? Why are you so selfish? Can you give me a good reason why everyone does NOT deserve quality health care – like our military?
Now I am odd?
Obama voted like everyone else at the time because Paulson and Bush knew how to get their way! All they had to do was get everyone panicked. They did have to get the credit markets “unfrozen” and keep the country from falling apart at the time – and this was only a couple months after McCain told us the economy was great! Doh!
He IS number 1 in his time slot of 5:00 o’clock… BY FAR! Are you serious?
I am not Irish. I am not selfish. I did not say people did not deserve insurance. I have never said people don’t deserve health care. All I said was you cannot make life fair for everyone. Nothing about life is fair. You said it was not fair that it was not fair that a guy had to join the military to get insurance for his wife. Why not? People take all kinds of jobs to get health insurance.
Yes, Obama needs an excuse for what he did…Always someone else’s fault. So now he is not responsible for his vote? You are consistent in the stories you tell yourself, if nothing else.
Why is that his only alternative? It’s NOT that way in all the other industrialized countries, so why here? Is it because we support corporate communism? Is it because we are anti-progressive? The progressives had to fight tooth and nail to enact Social Security and Medicare – two gov’t programs that you will benefit from. I don’t think “backwards” is the way we ought to go!
Who watches TV at 5 pm? A very strategic move on Fox’s part – but mostly because he has no advertisers, so they had to put him in a time slot when not many people are watching!
You don’t know anything about his life, his baggage, his history. He may be totally unqualified to do anything else. I went to my shoe repair shop yesterday and the owner has enlisted in the Army. He is in his thirties. He cannot survive running a shoe repair shop in this economy so he enlisted. Don’t blame the health care system when there may be some other part of the picture that none of us knows. People lie. People rarely tell the whole story. Don’t be so gullible. That will also help you with your maturation. Be kind but always remember: there are always 2 sides to every story.
HA! Are you saying Kevin Jennings is “the right man for the job” too? LOL. Do you have kids, Liz. Obviously not, at least not any in school. If you did, you wouldn’t want this degenerate to be responsible for keeping your kids safe.
Over 70% of women in this country identify themselves as Democrats or Independents – and that number may be higher. That’s because I think women tend to be more compassionate and “nurturing” – it’s a gender thing.
Yes, and Independents are running away from the dems and the libs in droves. Where’s that leave all you crazy people in 2010?
Obama voted like everyone else at the time because Paulson and Bush knew how to get their way!
Oh so you admit that Obungle is a follower, and not a leader? He didn’t have the guts to stand up to mean ole Bush against TARP? LMOA!!!
Yep, Obama’s followers spend their entire day making excuses for him.
Sterling, do you even understand what TARP was all about? They had NO choice! Paulson let his bank buddies rip off the system with their risky behavior – so I blame no one but Bush for putting him in charge of the treasury!
Nobody is watching?! Is that why Van Jones is a FORMER czar? Is that why Acorn is under such scrutiny? Ary YOU a 9-11 truther Liz. Probably are.
All I know is – I don’t want my medical benefits tied to a job – and neither do most Americans! And we shouldn’t have to be stuck in a job we don’t like because it offers benefits. Most companies do NOT even offer medical benefits anymore – it’s too expensive!
Are you crazy? Everyone knows Beck is NUTS (and not acorn nuts)! It was not a big story anywhere but on FOX. They are very insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Van Jones was a NOBODY, and even O’Reilly told Beck that!
All the other industrialized countries have socialized medicine programs that are abject failures so why don’t we? Is it because we’re not marxists? Is it because it’s blatantly unconstitutional? Is it because it’s just plain stupid? The marxists had to fight tooth and nail to enact Social Security and Medicare – two gov’t programs that are blatantly unconstitutional, bankrupt and abject failures. Just ask Ron Paul!
Van Jones resigned because he didn’t want to be ripped apart by Beck. I think Anita Dunn will stand up to him and come out on top!
Yeah, women are more nurturing. Is that why Obamma’s communications gal praises Mao, who murdered millions of people?
It looks like a lot of people watch TV at 5PM.
http://tinyurl.com/ygp5e3o
Numbers don’t lie!
Anita can call him anytime she likes!
She can even call during the show!
She does NOT praise Mao! She was taken totally out of context and crucified – and I think even you are smart enough to know that! Get real!
Here’s O’Reilly ripping on Beck – and O’Reilly didn’t even think Obama knew about Van Jones! He was a nobody – blown up larger than life by Beck!
Anita wouldn’t stoop that low!
Nice job, trying to insult my intellegience by asking if I understand TARP! You silly little girl. There’s always a choice. If enough of them had banded together and voted against it, it wouldn’t have passed. Don’t use that tired excuse that they had no choice. If they had truly been against government control of the banks, they would have voted against it.
Van Jones SHOULD have been a big story on EVERY NETWORK. Why WASN’T he. He was a guy appointed by the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES who is a communist and a 9-11 truther. And you don’t believe Obammas BAD JUDGEMENT at best, or his conniving plan surround himself with RADICALS should have been a major STORY? You are so INTOXICATED by Obumma, you can’t see beyond your nose. Poor, Poor pitiful you.
Dunn was making a point about irony – not Mao! Beck is not educated enough to understand this! That’s why his credibility is “zero”! Read the real story yourself – if you are smart enough to understand!
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/10/16/beck.dunn/
Blogger – all I know is that you are very good at repeating Beck – and you just DON’T GET IT! You need an education – badly! Sorry if that sounds cruel, but it’s just true!
It’s like arguing to a mud fence. For God’s sake, just what exactly was taken out of context? She stood right there and said that she praised Mao. I saw the same tape of her saying it on Beck as I saw on CNN and Fox, and ABC. So tell me who it was taken out of context.
I don’t care if he deposited a million dollars in every citizen’s bank account and surrounds himself with fluffy bunnies for pets, the SOB is responsible for killing 70 million people. No matter what good you’ve done in your life, it kinds gets trumped by that kind of barbarianism.
And Sterling, if it wasn’t passed, we would be deep into a depression as we speak! You are clueless as well.
The problem was that the banks had control – and our hands were tied – thanks to MR. BUSH!
Sterling, you don’t understand irony – plain and simple. She said nothing wrong – nothing that praised Mao at all!
From that article….
Media Matters for America, a liberal media watchdog group, points out that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, also a Fox News contributor, quoted Mao in a 1995 Roll Call profile.
“War is politics with blood; politics is war without blood,” Gingrich said, citing Mao.
Karl Rove, another Fox News contributor, wrote in a December 2008 Wall Street Journal op-ed that President Bush “encouraged me to read a Mao biography.”
I may not always be right, but I am far from clueless. You wish I was clueless, and you wish every one else here were too, so that we’d believe every word that you say after you gulp down your daily hit of Kool-Aid.
Glenn Beck, educated or uneducated, nailed Van Jones to the wall. That’s why Jones resigned. All his dirt was coming out of the walls, if he had nothing to be afraid of and if he thought that his leader Obungle would stand up for him, he never would have resigned. You don’t resign if you haven’t done anything wrong.
What would have been different if we hadn’t passed TARP? Would those 4 unemployed friends of mine feel less unemployed or more?
It’s not unusual for politicians to read the philosophies and biographies of other politicians – or dictators – as the case may be – and draw parallels and note the ironies in those philosophies.
If you believe any of Beck’s kool-aid, then that tells me how educated you are – about as much as he is!
The TRUTH about Van Jones…..
Jones said of the petition on the Web site 911truth.org: “I do not agree with this statement and it certainly does not reflect my views now or ever.” Jones has also come under fire for comments he made, also before his White House job, including those in a video on YouTube. In it, he uses a vulgar expression to describe Republicans.
Jones resigned from his post in September, saying in a statement that he came to Washington to “fight for others, not for myself.”
“I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future,” Jones’ statement said.
Jones is a co-founder of colorofchange.org, a group that recently has been pressing advertisers to boycott Beck’s program after Beck called Obama a racist.
Sterling – ask Carolynro what would have happened if TARP had not been passed? Do you understand why small business need “unfrozen” credit markets to operate? I would have thought so, but I guess not! A LOT MORE people would be unemployed now…maybe 25%.
It was “progressive” Woodrow Wilson that gave control of our economy to bankers.
Don’t take my word for it.
Just ask Cap.
It’s obvious that you’d never do your own homework on the matter.
Keep on keepin’ on with your education speil. It’s winning you mored followers every day. You’re saying then, that your president is afraid of an uneducated bumpkin. Yee-Haw!
No, they wouldn’t be. Your president promised that unemployment wouldn’t go above 9%, remember?
Fantastic, Lizzy. Utterly FANTASTIC!!!
If I didn’t already know that Obama is a socialist, I would probably assume that Dunn’s words WERE taken out of context. But since Obama IS a socialist . . .
Let’s not forget the countless other far left radicals surrounding TOTUS.
Can you say Birds of a Feather?
Sorry to have to tell you this Sterling, but he’s your president too! LMAO!
Unless you are not American – and you do act un-American at times!
He didn’t think unemployment would go above 9%, but that had to be revised. We’re lucky it’s not 25% after the fiasco of the last 8 years!
Would you rather live in Iran with a real dictator? I bet you all would! LMAO!
http://www.talkstreamlive.com/listen.aspx?s=4002
Don’t tell me “he didn’t think.” He promised that if we’d pass the ridiculous stimulus bill, unemployment wouldn’t go above 9%. It’s almost 10 with no signs of growth to slow it down.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it must be Obungle. Oh wait, he wishes we’d call him a duck, instead of a little fascist.
I’m not sure 25 percent inflation and 25 percent interest rates will be much better than 25 percent unemployment. That’s what we’re going to have in a few years. The “stimulus” is not helping unemployment ONE BIT. Unemployment is near 10 percent. What has the “porkulus” really done? NOTHING!
WASHINGTON – Democrats launched a drive at both ends of the Capitol on Wednesday to strip the insurance industry of its decades-old exemption from federal antitrust laws, part of an increasingly bare-knuckled struggle over landmark health care legislation sought by President Barack Obama.
If enacted, the change would put an end to “price-fixing, bid-rigging and market allocation in the health and medical malpractice” insurance areas, said Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Leahy said he would seek a vote on the plan when the Senate debates health care legislation in the next few weeks.
Leahy made his comments at the same time the House Judiciary Committee voted 20-9 to end an industry exemption that dates to 1945. Three Republicans supported the move.
Senior Democratic officials said the leadership was inclined to incorporate the measure into the broader health care bill expected to be brought to the floor for a vote within a few weeks. No final decision has been made, they added.
Well, sorry to disappoint you Sterling, but he’s really not the Messiah! Bush was a duck – a duck(er) of shoes!
Amen, Blogger, amen. Of course, it might do more if they’d release it all. But in typical Chicago-style politics, they’re worried about realeasing it right before they hijack the next set of elections, rather than release it to help out citizens now. We’ll hear all about the wonderful things the stimulus did in the summer of 2010, right before we throw them all the hell out of office.
Liz….Bush had as much control over the banks as your boyfriend has over you. He started warning the congress in 2002 that a banking collapse was in the future if regulations on orgasmic lending wasn’t enacted- 22 time he warned Congress- and congressional democrats called him a racist for not wanting to continue lending to people who had no jobs. Get your facts straight. If you had one ounce of honesty you would research how many Friends OF Bill )Slick Willy) made millions in bonuses working on Wall Street and at Freddie and Fannie. This is all confirmable on the internet. But, we know you don’t care about any info that lets Bush off the hook so I know you won’t even try.
Bush Warned of Financial Failure, Dems Ignored Warnings
George W. Bush (R., MBA, POTUS) has been warning of the dangers implicit in the quasi-government sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac since 2001. This year alone, he has called for changes 17 times and was ignored by the Democrat controlled Congress. It isn’t in Democrats best interest to solve problems under a Republican administration, so they did nothing. In fact, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid despairingly said Sept 17, “no one knows what to do.”
Braedon’s Corner of the Earth
For many years the President and his Administration have not only warned of the systemic consequences of financial turmoil at a housing government-sponsored enterprise (GSE) but also put forward thoughtful plans to reduce the risk that either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac would encounter such difficulties. President Bush publicly called for GSE reform 17 times in 2008 alone before Congress acted.
Unfortunately, these warnings went unheeded, as the President’s repeated attempts to reform the supervision of these entities were thwarted by the legislative maneuvering of those who emphatically denied there were problems.
2001
April: The Administration’s FY02 budget declares that the size of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is “a potential problem,” because “financial trouble of a large GSE could cause strong repercussions in financial markets, affecting Federally insured entities and economic activity.”
Unfortunately, most of the Republican reps (and some Dems) were in the pockets of the financial institutions. That’s why we need to clean up Washington and get the lobbys out!
And to think that in ‘02 he could have done something about it! Too bad his party didn’t back him…would have been easy to straighten it out then when both houses were controlled by “REPUBLICANS”!!! (not Dems)
PBS has a special on Frontline about how it all went down – watch it sometime! You might learn something!
Lobbys?
Again, that “progressive” Woodrow Wilson!
What happened to all that DD?
Watch it here…..this is new!
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/warning/
I saw some of it last night.
Woodrow Wilson was in YOUR party back then Dog – the moral majority!
My party?
I didn’t belong to one the last time I checked.
He was one of those “progressive” Democrats that you so often praise.
I’m an independent conservative libertarian Americanist.
I know how much that burns you up but I don’t care.
Dog…don’t bother with “it”…….her ignorance knows no bounds….she gets her info from Wikipedia, after all. Hoot! Hoot!
Jimmy, you are correct, of course.
I shall adhere to your elder wisdom, dear friend.
Funny I don’t recall anyone revealing their party affiliation. But I guess since she so sayeth, then so shall it be that we are all republicans. I mean, God forbid a Democrat would disagree with her!!!
Sterling, don’t we have a number of registered Dems in the bunker?
RCP still carries Obooboo at 52% approval and and 42% disapproval.
Congress still has 0nly 25% approval.
And wrong direction is 56%.
The “real” fair and balanced CNN is 61% and the Joke ABC says 65%…lol
Far right fringe network FOX: 53% Obooboo approval rating.
So it seems the far right is in someone’s La La Land. Left fringe people often have a reality precipitation problem.
chas
We do indeed, Dog. I don’t even know if there are any admitted republicans there or not, LOL. Labels, labels, labels. Me thinks that’s the problem. Too many labels and no common sense.
Was reminded of a great Reagan quote today. Went something like, “For every dollar that the government gives someone, it must take a dollar from someone else.”
How did we forget this? Is it because there’s been no one to remind us?
Sterling says: “Was reminded of a great Reagan quote today. Went something like, “For every dollar that the government gives someone, it must take a dollar from someone else.’”
===========================================
I really don’t want to enter the sophomoric fray I see developing this week [I'm not going to stay hooked up during the week from now on, because I am gravely disappointed in both sides of this childish garbage], but it should be understood that the really ugly and extravagantly redistributionist reality of that Reagan sentiment is that the truth is that to hand out one dollar to someone, the government needs to take from the collective others almost three dollars, the differential being eaten up in processing, collection, and various fiddle-dee-dee costs and shunts. That’s one of the real evils of the block grant programs, which are premised on DC stealing from the states, processing in DC, and then parceling out, let-them-eat-cakingly, the crumbs back from whence the bulk was stolen. That is worse than socialism: it is Black Bart’s “Please throw down the box,” but then give the little old lady her locket back.
Well said Cap. However when I say such things I am a throwback because I use many of the quotes of the Founders. One of my favorites:
<i."I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." Th Jefferson
Nothing in the Constitution gives the Federal Government to give MY money away. It is now allowed to Tax me and use my money for the common good, but giving it away to those who do not produce would have been a alien concept to them.
chas
How about giving aid to foreign countries? How do you feel about that? We give foreign countries more than we give to our own. I’d rather see it go to needy Americans!
Cap, I think you’d like to go back to the wild, wild west wouldn’t you? I know you are not a fan of the Beckster – and tonight someone had to point out to him that most of our founding fathers were slave owners! Which ones were not?
OK Sterling, I know you are Libertarian – but I was hoping you weren’t! I would be if there was any chance that party could take off – but it never will.
Liz, with all sincerity, I’d really like to hear your Libertarian views. They are the ones who have it right, you know. I agree with you about being skeptical of their party taking off. And it’s a darn shame.
More race-charged comments from Rush…..
Who needs a party?
Well Sterling, the Libertarian party would need the right leader – and I think Ron Paul is a good candidate. I’m not sure it would all work in a country as large as the US at this time, but it would be a refreshing change from all the corruption in our current gov’t. They have a lot of conservative views and some very liberal views. It would be a hard transition, but interesting to see how it would turn out. I’m not so sure about their views on immmigration though…which is pretty open. The world is a scary place today.
Another child denied insurance….too small.
Do they also deny anorexics?
If anyone who comprehends the English Language can find for me where in the Constitution the Federal Government can under Article !, Section 8, has the enumerated power to take MY money and give it to a foreign Country, or for that fact any individual of this Country, please quote me line and verse.
Otherwise, a person of normal intelligence could construe with a high degree of accuracy my opinion on foreign aid.
chas
Ah Chas…lol
I don’t think anyone will be able to quote that to you. Don’t think it’s there at all.
A comment seen earlier on denying health care to individuals on the same level as Service personal.
Talk about a straw dog argument. In case you haven’t noticed, these service personal are in harms way, all others relax because of their comment to duty.
You degrade what these people go through and do every day with such idiocy.
Maybe you Liz, should try to limit George Soros income. Media matters would be out of business.
Despite a 29 percent decline in third-quarter net income, eBay Inc. saw stronger revenue in its marketplaces businesses, suggesting that efforts to revitalize its main Web site are gaining traction among bargain-hungry shoppers.
Revenue in that unit dipped just 1 percent to $1.4 billion, compared with the year-ago period. That’s better than the 18 percent year-over-year drop in the first quarter and 14 percent in the second.
San Jose-based eBay has been trying to improve buyers’ trust and the look and feel of its site since last year. And to encourage more listings, eBay has changed some policies to emphasize fees for items that users actually sell rather than merely list.
The company blamed unfavorable foreign exchange differences for the decline in revenue. A majority of marketplaces revenue comes from outside the United States, and deals done in other currencies translate into fewer dollars when the dollar is strong.
You are ill in the head chas!!! Unbelievable that someone like you exists on this planet…and the gov’t hired you! Yet you continue to bash your gov’t every day and your president! I NEVER said anything to degrade service personnel. Some of them are heroes – and some are anti-heroes, but war makes people crazy. We wouldn’t be at war if we were all Libertarian!!!
As for this statement – does this mean you believe in slavery? The founding fathers were slave owners – and slave abusers! (Th. Jefferson)
“There is nothing more unequal, than the equal treatment of unequal people.” Th Jefferson
Hey John – you are not bothered by the fact that we had to bail out these banks at great expense, yet they want to hand out huge bonuses to the very people who made a mess of our economy??? What’s wrong with you???
The pay czar has stated he plans to limit all executive pay. You got your head buried in the sand? What’s wrong with you?
I find it rather odd that someone who’s an authoritarian could be so eager to praise libertarians.
After all, the two are polar opposites on the idealogical spectrum.
Oh, that’s right!
Lying is second nature to a troll.
No John, he did NOT dummy! Get your head out of the sand!!! Only the banks that took TARP money!
Authoritarian? Hardlly!!! Corporate communists are trying to be authoritarian and we can’t let them run the country, now can we?
I can’t stand people like Chuckie who would deny medical insurance to children because they are not equal to soldiers in his opinion!
It’s not so bad John – they WILL get stock options, so now they have to perform!!!
President Obama limited salaries for corporate banking executives whose firms accepted bailout funds earlier this year. Now, his pay czar, Ken Feinberg, plans to crack down on cash salaries for a wide variety of executives at companies receiving large sums of government money, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. In what the Journal called the administration’s “most intrusive [move] yet into corporate compensation,” Feinberg will limit pay at seven firms he oversees: Bank of America, AIG, Citigroup, General Motors, GMAC Financial Services, Chrysler LLC and Chrysler Financial.
Feinberg’s judgment is expected to come in mid-October and will deal with the 175 highest-paid executives at the firms. Instead of receiving their usual cash salaries, executives will have percentages of their pay transferred into company stock that cannot be cashed in for several years. What percentage of the salaries will be diverted is not clear, but in some cases it could be over 50 percent.
Dog, I know why you are Libertarian! It’s the view about drugs, alcohol and tobacco – right?
It’s that simple!
Are you a “hardcore” anarchist like MetalGirl? LMAO!!! You 2 are hilarious!
Cap has it right. Having worked with grants in the school district and having watched the city municipalities spend resources to chase grants to be used to improve the aesthetics of street corners, Americans forget that it is the local dollars that are sent to DC to be decided for us how they are to be spent and where they are to be spent. The citizenry then has the sense that it was “free” money when it comes back wrapped in a bow. We become used to pretty street corners and when an actual emergency arises we forget that the money that should have been kept in the community all along but was sent to DC could have been set aside for emergencies but instead city fathers levy new taxes to meet emergencies or maintenance .
Contol freaks all you want to do is control as much of everyone lives you possibly can. You an idoit that falls head first into the trap. When or if you ever come to your senses it will be too late.
The school budget has been slashed and now there’s a hiring freeze. Good old Granholm – she needs to go back to Canada. A friend of mine works in the Bloomfield Schools – and the latchkey program is subsidized. They charge a nominal fee to parents who can well afford to pay for it, and now they will have to. I know that Michigan has raided the school fund for years – I didn’t even think we had one. They said a few years back that the lottery totally funds the schools.
Granholm needs to start attracting business or this state will not come back!
John, don’t even bother posting. You have no idea what you are talking about and you are a complete waste of space!
Oh now, be nice Liz. The same can be, and has been, said of you. The weekend is coming up. Let’s play nice.
http://tinyurl.com/ygt8bf8
Who are you talking about Bruce — the guy who kidnapped that girl from a bus stop in the 90’s?
Dog, that’s a “trash” website. I posted the real story yesterday. He never was a 9-11 truther – all made up garbage. He resigned because he didn’t really want the job – and the Obama’s didn’t even really know him. He was a very insignificant “czar” with extremely limited power. Just like O’Reilly said, he was a “nobody” until the Beckster started in on him.
I’ll tell you what trash websites are.
They go by names like Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Media Matters and Newshounds.
They’re all liars, hypocrites and left-wing extremists just like YOU!
Liz, you talk, and talk, and talk, and talk. We tell you our opinion, and you say we don’t know what we’re talking about because we are uneducated or haven’t done the research. You demand data. Then we provide the data you ask for. Then you say our data is wrong and you give us a left wing source that you say is more accurate. Then you make another ridiculous assertion. We tell you why you’re wrong. Then you either repeat a Rachel Maddow talking point or you tell us to do research again. We cite numbers. You say the numbers are wrong. THIS IS ALL ONE BIG CONTINUOUS, MONOTONOUS CYCLE THAT REPEATS ITSELF OVER AND OVER. Let’s just cut through the chase. NAME ONE THING…I REPEAT…ONE THING that Barrak Obama has accomplished. JUST ONE. That is all I ask. Has he taken troops out of Afhanistan? Has he put more troops IN Afghanistan? Has the health care bill gone through? Has he fixed the economy yet? Has crime gone down? How about global warming? How about education? ONE THING LIZ. JUST ONE! I’ll be waiting, Dearie.
http://www.talkstreamlive.com/listen.aspx?s=2038
(1) Obama has made significant progress in Afghanistan – and even O’Reilly admits it. We will be out of both wars late next year. (2) He put the economy on the road to recovery. (3) He’s got us on the road to much-needed national healthcare, which will be passed before the end of the year. (4) He won the Nobel prize for his efforts throughout the world. (5) The world is cooperating with him on solutions for global warming. (6) He lifted all bans on stem-cell research, which will be life-saving for many people – maybe even including you one day. (I know a young boy who was recently “cured” with stem cells – he had a bad heart) (6) You want more? That’s just the tip of the iceberg for what’s on his agenda. Everything can’t be accomplished in 10 months, but it’s off to a roaring start!
Now, you tell me what the Republicans have done except say “NO” to everything that’s good for this country!
There’s nothing extreme about me – but there’s a lot extreme about YOU Dog!!! LMAO!
Obviously, Liz, you do not know what a communist is. You cannot use the term “corporate” with the term “communist”. They are mutually exclusive. Communism is AGAINST corporations, profit making, etc. The only communists we have may be in Washington.
HI Dog: How are you feeling today? What are you up to?
Hey Carolyn!
Sandi and I are planning a trip to Troy, Michigan.
Care to meet us there?
Oh, cooollll! When are you going? I can pop over and hook up with you. We could meet at Somerset Mall.
OK, Liz I will do as I’m told. Sorry to interupt your elitist world. You know it all and I know nothing. Hiel Hitler. Bye
In the first “accomplishment” you cited, you said, “We WILL be.. (in other words, we havn’t done it yet). In your second and third “accomplishments said we “are on the road” to…” Being on the road is much different from having arrived. Besides there are a lot of very intelligent people who believe we are on the road to something else. Nevertheless, being “on the road” does not count as something accomplished. With regard to his 4th “accomplishment”, many very intelligent people, including HIM, do not believe he DESERVED the prize; and I agree with them (and him). As for his 5th ” accomplishment”…REALLY? I got the impression that China, for example, was being rather OBSTINATE about the issue of global warming. As for stem cell research, it is very controversial. I personally am not sure about its ethics, morality, etc. But since I’m not sure, I won’t argue that one. He also is extremely pro abortion, which I view as reprehensible. But if you view abortion as an accomplishment, he definitely is a winner.
Dog, I have a brother that lives about 20 miles outside of Troy. Maybe I could visit him about the you guys meet. That would be fun.
Okay. Obummer promised first to create 3.5 million jobs with the stimulus package. Then he promised to create or SAVE 3.5 million jobs. Then he promised to save 3.5 million jobs. Since 2.7 million people have lost their jobs since the stimulus, does this mean that, had it not been for the stimulus package, 6.2 million people would have lost their jobs? I THINK NOT!!! It simply says that the stimulus did not work, because it was not designed to work for everyone. It was designed to award those people and organizations that helped get Obummer elected, to the tune of some 700 billion dollars.
And do not forget that Obummer promised to create 10 million green jobs. How many so far?
And dont’ forget the million man civilian security force. How many of those people have been hired so far?
Olin: Liberals don’t have to keep their promises- it is in the rule book
Countless millions of jobs were saved by the stimulus – i.e. bailing out GM and Chrysler. That would have had a domino effect and put a lot more people out of jobs. Grants for green business have created jobs and a whole new industry, teachers jobs have been saved, infrastructure jobs have been created – and the list goes on and on. Why don’t you people find out for yourselves – I’m tired of reposting all this stuff because you can’t remember. At what age does the brain begin to deteriorate – I could see it in John McCain. How old is he?
As for you blogger – get a brain! You just like to complain – talking points over and over!
Michigan greets President Obama with skepticism
“…Going into the speech, the Detroit News flatly said the Obama administration’s $787 billion stimulus package was not working; the Detroit Free Press criticized his decision to focus his remarks on community colleges, rather than the economy and jobs; and the mayor of Warren went on the radio to rebuke Obama for delivering a speech instead of holding an unscripted town hall, as originally planned…”
Michigan got a lousy 397 jobs for $620 million stimulus dollars.
Via theblogprof
Michigan received $3.7 billion is stimulus money, of which $620 million was to be used to “create and save” jobs, while the remainder will be used by Granholm to backfill the budget deficit that she has created with her overspending so that she doesn’t have to make any substantial cuts before she leaves office. When she walks away, she will have lost more than 1,000,000 jobs in a state with a population of only 10 million. A few days ago, Granholm claimed that stimulus money “created or saved” 19,500 jobs (Enron accounting: Stimulus saved or created 19,500 jobs in Michigan). Turns out, the number is an utter fabrication, as I suspected when I wrote that prior post. Fact is, that $620 million “created or saved” 397 jobs.
Let’s just do the math. $620 million divided by say 400 jobs = $1,550,000 per job!
Colleen- So sorry about your headaches. My mom had migraines, too but not as often as you it seems. It is yucky but I must head out for awhile. Feel better!
Mi. unemployment is over 15%. Go Granholm. My brother is self-employed but almost no work. He’
s thinking about moving. He will lose his butt on his home. I think that’s the reason he hasn’t moved yet.
Colleges confused over jobs saved by stimulus
By Sarah O’Connor in Washington
Marcia Smith scratched her head when she got the e-mail. It offered her some surprising advice on how to calculate the effects of the US government stimulus money flowing to her university.
Across the US this month the universities, state governments, federal contractors and others that won a slice of the $787bn stimulus package have been trying to calculate how many jobs they created or saved with the funds. The government promised it would create and save 3.5m jobs over two years; now it wants on-the-ground data to check on the progress.
Who counts? Some universities have included tenured academics who have life-long jobs
The figures will provide the first direct estimate of the stimulus’s effects on the labour market, and – with the unemployment rate edging towards 10 per cent – will be pored over by both the package’s champions and its detractors.
But calculating those numbers has proved difficult. Many universities, for example, are including tenured academics in their “jobs created and saved” numbers even though their jobs were already guaranteed for life.
She said: “I have 250 stimulus-funded researchers out there and I have to say to them, ‘OK, these people were paid on your grants. Were their jobs created or retained?’ And they look at me like, ‘What do you mean? I don’t know!’ ” The stimulus money has been a godsend for the university, she says, but accounting for it has been a nightmare.
Panel: Stimulus Created Or Saved 30,000 Private Jobs
by The Associated Press
October 15, 2009
Businesses receiving federal contracts under President Obama’s economic stimulus program reported creating or saving more than 30,000 jobs in the first months of the program, according to data released Thursday by a government oversight board.
The numbers, based on jobs linked to less than $16 billion in federal contracts, represent just a sliver of the $787 billion stimulus package. But they offer the first hard data on the early effects of the program. Until now, the White House has relied on economic models to argue that the program created jobs and eased the recession. Critics point to rising unemployment to argue it wasn’t worth the cost.
I know John: and what good does filling budget holes do for unemployment. It will be time to work on the next budget cycle and the money will be gone and we will be back to square one soon. The filling of budget holes simply recycles dollars. New dollars is what is needed to get us out of this mess and that just is not happening.
And here is the rub: comparing reality with an imaginary model is an unstable indicator:
Has the Stimulus Really Created or Saved One Million Jobs?
by Christopher Flavelle, ProPublica – September 11, 2009 3:44 pm EDT
First, as we’ve reported [4] before [5], gauging the jobs impact of the stimulus means comparing it against a hypothetical, stimulus-free scenario—a “baseline” that can be projected but by definition never known. Such economic projections are always difficult: in January, Christina Romer, now the council’s chair, predicted [6] (PDF) that without the stimulus, unemployment would peak at 9 percent in 2010. The fact that unemployment has already passed that level only demonstrates the difficulty of estimating unknowable scenarios. (Indeed, the council itself calls its baseline “plausible”—hardly a rousing endorsement.)
Second, even assuming the baseline is accurate, the report points out that not much time has passed since the stimulus was enacted, which makes it hard to measure actual economic performance with great certainty. “It is important to acknowledge that six months is a short period of time for macroeconomic analysis,” the authors write. “The only official GDP data that we have under the program is for the second quarter of 2009,” add the authors, and “one observation obviously does not constitute a trend.”
Third, the report hedges its bets by giving a range for the number of jobs created or saved by the stimulus. “By August,” concludes the report, “employment is estimated to be between 600,000 and 1.1 million higher than it would otherwise have been.” But few news organizations took the time to report the lower number, choosing instead to focus on the more eye-catching “million” number. The Wall Street Journal [7], Bloomberg [8] and the Associated Press [9] all skipped mention of 600,00 or any range at all.
This all to familiar “wish management” does everyone a disservice. We can all say things like “I wish the footings were installed” and call it good. But, it is irresponsible to not wait until they are actually installed before proclaiming the job complete. It is dishonest to say “If we hadn’t installed them, the job would still have been completed on time”. Customers don’t want to hear wild predictions about how their project might have been impacted by some imaginary condition when the contractor is asking for a check for work not completed. But, most of us work in the real world and not in some world of hypothesis and computer models that have nothing to do with accurate outcomes.
I highly recommend this book…..
Blogger – if you can’t stop acting like a child, why bother??? Look at your last post? How old are you? 5?
I do agree that Granholm has the wrong job! She was a good attorney general, but a very bad governor. She has driven more business from the state than she brought in – and now I’m ticked at her for cutting funding to the schools. She doesn’t want to make cuts where they are needed and instead takes it out on the kids.
FANTASTIC!!
An official says a Malaysian woman has given premature birth to a boy on a domestic flight, minutes before it landed in Kuala Lumpur.
Liew Siaw Hsia gave birth on budget carrier AirAsia’s flight from Penang to Kuching on Wednesday.
AirAsia spokesman Nazatul Mokhtar said Friday that the flight was diverted to nearby Kuala Lumpur for an emergency landing when Liew started labor pains.
A doctor on the flight helped the 31-year-old deliver while the plane was still 2,000 feet (600 meters) in the air in its final approach to land.
Nazatul says both the mother and baby are healthy and will get lifetime of free flights. He says Liew was 27 weeks pregnant, 11 weeks short of the full term.
Sorry liz but carolynro is right:
Auto bailout tab could top $130 billion
GM and Chrysler say they need $21.6 billion more in loans. But that won’t be enough to save Detroit. Here’s a rundown of all the auto bailout proposals.
GM needs billions more
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — General Motors and Chrysler LLC asked the government Tuesday for $21.6 billion in additional loans, but the final cost of a bailout of the auto industry could be significantly higher.
The two struggling auto giants have already received a total of $17.4 billion in loans. If they get the new loans they want, the price tag of the bailout would climb to $39 billion.
AUTO COMANPIES GOT LOANS NOT STIM MONEY
Havae a nice day
FROM TARP MONEY IT WAS CALLED
If my comment wasn’t mature enough for your high standards of adult decorum, please accept my most profuse and humble apology. I’m really more mature than I appear on the blog. For example, I do not believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, Halloween ghosts and ghouls, and the notion that Barack Hussein Obama is our Messiah. Belief in ANY of that nonsense would REALLY make me a child.
Incidentally, Liz…you need to work on your vocabulary if accuracy is the goal. It’s not stimulus money; unless the definition of stimulate is to prompt debt, deficits, high interest rates, high inflation, and continued unemployment. Jimmy Carter “stimulated” us in that way; but no one called it stimulus. Most people called it STAGFLATION. If you aren’t ready to call it stagflation, at LEAST call it what it is. Can you say PORKULUS?
But, again, please do accept my sincere regrets for my childish behavior. It would have been much more mature of me to follow your lead and tell everyone I don’t agree with that they are uneducated, ignorant, stupid, and an idiot. That would have been much more mature of me. I’m so glad the rest of us have you to emulate.
freckles – if they need it, they should get it! All the banks got much more than the car companies, and they don’t PRODUCE anything! It’s only fair! They WILL turn around as the economy recovers – that’s a given.
OK Blogger – my last post to you! After you get an education, I’ll speak to you. Start in kindergarten!
The secret service has been going crazy trying to protect Obama from threats – the worst ever. I think it’s a direct result of the h-a-t-e speech on FOX because of their “radio talk show” format. It’s not funny – and if something happens to Obama, you know who will be blamed? That’s right!
Hey Dog – I think they were messin with her – and Beck thinks they “admire” him? LMAO! What planet is he on today?
Here’s proof that FOX is the media arm of the GOP – they were talking about Cheney’s speech before he made it. They had a transcript! Unreal.
It’s FBI recommended!
The media refused the speech not even fox showed it
and msnbc is in obamas pocket and abc talks to obamas staff every morning and on an d on. even the obama voters at my work are turning against him as he acts like nixon with all the secrets
Raise your hands if you didn’t know that most reporters get an advanced printout of speeches !
and maybe Obama is tghe problem and not radio or tv? did you know that someone wrote a book on how to assassinate Bush? you are blind as a bat about what danger we are all in all the time and we have nobody to protect us.
Hello mr jimmy. I am just a high school graduate and i even know they all get copies ahead
But we waste time. I am sorry but i know truck drivers from my work who are smarter than that girl liz. she just fusses to fuss and don’t care that most everything she says is a lie. if i can find the truth she should be able to but she don’t care she just wants to make other people hurt and get mad. nice mouth on that one
bye going to work
You’re kidding, right? You actually said in print that if something happens to our president, Fox News should be blamed. What about all the horrible things that were said and written about Bush by the left-wing mainstream media? Stop trying to stifle everyone’s freedom of speech. You guys have nothing, so you’re resorting to scare tactics.
Agree or disagree, everyone is entitled to their freedom of speech. There’s a reason it’s the FIRST amendment.
Don’t you know Sterling that when Joe Wilson told the truth, he was a h-a-t-e-r? When Bill Maher says that Americans are stupid, it’s because he loves us all. When Beck told us about Acorn pandering to hookers and pimps, he did so because he is a h-a-t-e-r. And when the liberals lied on Rush Limbaugh, they did so because they loved him. Are you understanding what the story is now, Sterling? C’mon! Get educated.
Is it actually true that the FBI is investigating Beck and Limbaugh? Are you kidding me? Is Obumma really that desperate?
If Fox is the “arm of the Republican Party, SO WHAT? The Democrats, as I pointed out in a previous post, have all the other “arms”. Why shouldn’t the Republicans have at least one? Yay for Fox.
Hey did any of you see the Beck show yesterday when he talked about the caller who was on Limbaugh’s radio program yesterday? Caller from LA called her local FBI office because she wanted to know what was going on with ACORN. The agent who answered the phone told her to watch FOX news or listen to talk radio to find out. To listen to Glenn Beck, that’s what they did to stay informed!!
Sterling, I posted the vid up above.
There were messin with her Sterling – they watch him for threats to Obama! Watch the video Dog posted earlier. The secret service is on their toes like no time in the past – that was talked about a lot yesterday on all the other news networks – and they think it’s because of all the “radio talkshow” FOX programming. Obama doesn’t think so, but they wanted Emanuel to get the word out. They are worried that he might get hurt with all the crazies out there. I sure would not want to be Obama right now. Apparently they’ve received some terrible threats.
It’s really no laughing matter! How would you like to be a target of Beck, or Limbaugh! Think about it!
The other stations don’t promote h-a-t-e or violence! I don’t like our governor, but I don’t h-a-t-e her or want any harm to come to her. There’s a huge difference between criticizing someone’s politics and h-a-t-e talk like we hear from people like Ann Coulter. She was on Joy Behar’s show last night and she equates liberals with murderers!
Scary stuff!
Bush was never threatened like Obama has been – according to the secret service.
I know FBI agents and they DON’T “mess” with people!
If they tell you something, THEY MEAN IT!!!
There’s NO sense of humor in those folks!
They were humoring her and probably tracing the call at the same time.
They were humoring her and probably tracing the call at the same time. They do keep track of loonies.
Freckles – the Bush admin. put us in great danger. It’s not good to have the rest of the world pizzed off at you. I feel much safer now that they are out – and that’s why they are out!
Bush was barely in office when 9-11 happened. You can’t blame Bush for the h-a-t-e that brought that tragedy. It was more than likely the president that preceded him. Now who was that? Oh yes; it was Clinton.
Oh come on. To suggest that Bush received no death threats or was not the subject h-a-t-e speech is ludicrous. Do you really mean to suggest that anyone believes that? What you’re actually suggesting is that is was okay to dissent when Bush was in office, but now, if anyone dissents, they’re either h-a-t-e mongers or racists or both. Where’s your logic in your argument?
Congressional Third Rails.
1. Social Security – More expensive than intended due to inclusion of non-payers. Many attempts but never fixed. Bankrupt!
2. Medicare – More expensive than intended due to inclusion of non-payers. Many attempts but never fixed. Bankrupt!!
3. Medicaid – Grossly underestimated due to inclusion of unqualified participants and gross misuse. Many attempts but never fixed. Bankrupt!!!
4. Government Healthcare – Will it cost more than projacted as with other programs? Will it need to be fixed? Will it go bankrupt???
Congress is a basket case of cluster boobs!!! Try to get it right THIS TIME!!!!
I believe, without a doubt, that there are right wingnut lunatics that have threatened Obummer. But there are no more of those than the left winnut lunatics that threatened Bush, including most liberal pundits and Hollywood that openly welcomed the possibility of Bush’s demise. You do not hear that type of rhetoric here, and I resent the inclusatory nature of the comment. Ann Coulter has to stand and defend any offensive comments, just as Joy Bayher must stand and defend her remarks.
I took off the bed sheet a long time ago!!!
BOUDICA SPEAKS!!!
http://www.talkstreamlive.com/listen.aspx?s=4002
Let me harkin back a couple of years and try to remember who made a movie on how to assasinate Bush. Was it the right? Don’t think so. Was it the leftists? I report you decide.
Oh, that’s a good one, John! And what about the people who wrote the parody of Sarah Palin’s book? That’s covered under their freedom of speech, but anyone who criticizes Obungle and his merry band of misfits is not allowed to exercise their freedom of speech for fear of being called a racist or a h-a-t-e monger. Yeah right.
Wow….now Lizard gets her info from the FBI??? Hoot! HOOT! She couldn’t get pass the screening ! Hoot! Hoot!
Oh Liz….I see you did not raise your hand earlier….so now you have learned something else from us….we will just allow you to progress at your own rate….like Montesorri. (SP?)…hang in there….2 things since May….but you can make it….we won’t give up on you….we will help you in any way we can !
When the left attacks someone it’s called a parady when the right dares dissagree it’s a threat. I wonder who made these rules? HHHUUUMMMMM
6000 non-citizens, children and IRS personnel took deductions for new home purchases and no one knew??? And some think this administration, or any administration can run a healthcare program? GET REAL!!! It is all about the power and taking the huge amount of capital out of the private sector!!!
I just looked outside and a line is already forming. Looks like I will have to add Wall Street execs to the breakfast list, along with all the others experiencing hard times. Seems as though the unemployment checks are running out. Where ARE all the jobs, anyway??
I really feel sorry for folks that took the government’s money (at least they think it is theirs, since they printed it) and cannot survive on $200,000.00 per annum, plus bonuses. We, the BW and me, survive on less than that, with 2 employees to boot!!!
It’s a lot worse to be on the Dems hit list.
Just look at Joe the Plumber and Palin and her family. I’ll take Beck and Limbaugh any day.
chas
“They were humoring her and probably tracing the call at the same time. They do keep track of loonies.”
If there isn’t a black sedan in front of your house…then they aren’t doing a very good job.
chas
Maybe they made fun of Sarah because she is not very smart – but they NEVER equated her with criminals like FOX commentators do to Obama – there is a HUGE difference. Joe the Plumber? Who is he? A prominent member of the GOP? How did I miss that? LMAO!
John, a lot of people h-a-t-ed Bush because he put us in 2 wars – maybe that person had a relative who died (for nothing). I’m not saying that making a movie about assassinating the president is not bordering on criminal, but you have to think about why he was so disliked. Obama has done nothing like that, and he never will. Most Americans were against that war from the beginning – the “mainstream” (majority). The media criticized Bush and made fun of him for his lack of speaking ability, but I never heard any “h-a-t-e” talk like I do for Obama. The GOP is going to pay for it – their base is down to 20%, which is horrible. I don’t like the way they’ve changed. I think it’s sad because they used to be a good party.
Shutup chas – anyone who thinks children don’t deserve to be insured because they are not “equal” to servicemen is a coward and a wimp.
Blogger – how stupid can you be?
“Don’t you know Sterling that when Joe Wilson told the truth, he was a h-a-t-e-r? When Bill Maher says that Americans are stupid, it’s because he loves us all. ”
JOE WILSON is a Congressman!!! Bill Maher is a “political commentator/comedian”! What’s the difference????
Doh!
Shut up liar. Anyone who thinks as you do needs to be on an island alone.
Anyone who thinks that unequal means slavery support is just too stupid to bother with because they are about nothing but agenda.
I’d suggest you do yourself a favor and read a History book or too, but reading and comprehension are two different things and you obviously lack the ability for the later.
chas
Why do you think Obummer is so H_A_T_E_D because he’s spending us into oblivian. We don’t want our great grandkids to pay for this maniacs spending spree.
And don’t tell me it’s not his spending cause everyone knows better
Sadly, most people in America think like I do! Imagine that! You are in the super minority now chuckie! Every time I think of you I think about that doll in the striped shirt with the knife in his hand.
Sorry John, but “Obummer” is much more liked than disliked. Wake up and smell the coffee dude!
I’m counting the days until FOX news decides to get rid of all the garbage and become a news station again. Maybe the next election will be their wake-up call.
“ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL” – except Chuckie and Th. Jefferson!
(they meant to include women and children as well, but because of the time they lived in it just slipped their mind)
Just Plain Fantastic!!!
Low prices, solid customer service and an increasing willingness by consumers to spend on discretionary items contributed to Amazon.com Inc.’s solid third quarter, and the growth should continue despite weakness elsewhere in retail.
Amazon shares soared to an all-time high Friday after the Seattle-based online retailer stunned analysts and investors by reporting that third-quarter net income grew 68 percent — a clear sign that consumers are spending on Amazon, even though the economy is still stuttering.
Lindsay attributes growth partly to the demographics of Amazon’s customer base, which he believes has more money than the average U.S. consumer to spend on nonessentials like books and video games.
Morning!
HI Me! How’s it going?
Health Bill is now $1 Trillion!! Gee what a surprise!
All conseratives are created unequal according to liberals
Good Morning everyone from Flyover. Nice crisp morning here.
ONE MAN’S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN’S TREASURE!!!
After scores of deaths, the U.S. government government is taking a closer look at off-road recreational vehicles, known as ROVs.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission voted Wednesday to write mandatory rules to regulate the four-wheel vehicles, after more than 100 deaths since 2003. Riders have suffered dozens of injuries, too — some leading to amputations.
ROVs, also called side-by-sides, are two-passenger motorized vehicles designed for drivers 16 years and older. They resemble a cross between a rugged-looking golf cart and a miniature-Jeep, and have a roll cage — metal bars framing the cab.
The industry proposed voluntary regulations for side-by-sides, but comission staffers said they fell short. Agency staff have expressed concern about the vehicles and rollover risks.
