What is up with the wall-to-wall coverage of Michael Jackson. The HUGE Cap and Trade bill is being debated as I write this today, Friday, June 26, 2009…at this point at 4:30 pm et, there is not one complete copy of this bill in one piece in the house. The economic impact of this bill is staggering, and yet on Fox today…it is all about Michael Jackson. Yes, He was a great musical talent, but a 21 yr old young man from Southern Illinois was killed in Iraq yesterday, and his death, let alone his name has not been mentioned…his parents are on their way to Dover to take home his body. This young man is a hero…and he never had the opportunity to live like a king and subsequently squander 400 million dollars in the process. You at Fox must surely realize that the world did not stop with the death of Michael Jackson..and there numerous other ‘newsworthy’ stories to report. I’ve lost some respect for you (Fox News) today.

I am confused and disgusted. Why is the media spending so much time on this vile child molestor. If you are fair and balanced, you should show thr young boys that nicheal molested. What about the childrens lives he has destroyed. Or how he got away with molesting children because of hismoney.

Comment by James C

Amen John, Jack the ripper of child molsetation

Comment by Frank C

Ali, thanks for the heads up…will be up for the start.

Johnm Cavuto spelled out the reasons as he is the most currently downloaded musician, MJ items are flying off the Yahoo Store shelves faster than they can stock them.

Comment by Me

I’ll be up with you Ali but had my fill of MJ I even tryed to start the whole his death is a FAKE idea!

Comment by Gini

Definitely will be up Aly…but will prob get beat out of first comment by ME!!! or Betty!!! Oh well…and so it goes. We are a bit weary of Michael J, and his sad life. It overshadows anything else he brought to the table, I think? Hopefully, F&F, with you, will give a more accurate picture of his life. IF it must be discussed at all. His children are the worry, of course. lol :)

Comment by Joelle Long

Please stop with Michael Jackson. I agree with those above. The man was a child molester. He was a great entertainer but two days of this. There are definitely other things going on in this world besides this man’s death. I hate to say it, but I might pop in a movie tomorrow a.m. or Youtube a video like “Thriller”. Oh, wait too much overload!!! Thanks for listening.

Somewhere in the death of Michael Jackson, the media has forgotten Farrah Fawcett.
Please give her the equal coverage and respect that she so well deserves!!

Comment by James C

With music flying of the selves it looks like the Jack the Ripper of Child Molestation was/is worth more dead than alive. I wonder if where he is if they supply children for his playroom.

Comment by Bill Bohannon

Thanks so much for the BEST television programming. Fox and Fox and Friends ROCK.

Comment by Nate W

Hi Ali,

Happy Birthday a bit late!

I agree that MJ’s death has been over covered, Farrah Fawcett’s did not get the coverage it deserves and we all know how much she suffered. His was very likely induced by over using prescription drugs in my opinion.

Comment by xenny

Happy belated Birthday ! I totally enjoy Fox and Friends weekends. It is sad that we lost MJ but we also lost Farrah. It was all MJ and I think we could have spent some of the coverage on her life. She fought a hard battle with cancer and she did alot for many people and children. Thanks and Ill watch you on Saturday! Glad ur back.

Comment by Al

Can we get a FOX NEWS ALERT notification after all the MJ coverage has abated? I was hoping the news would be back to normal by tomorrow morning. On the other hand, it’s been nice enjoying the summer weather without having the telly on for a couple evenings.

Comment by John

From John with a capital “J” Have a GREAT SHOW. I will be visiting with Dad and will miss your show. Get all the Micheal Jackson out of the way so we can discuss so thing of interest on Sunday LOL

Cheerleading safety efforts have led to modest reductions in the number of serious injuries in recent years, according to a new report about college and high school sports and cheerleading mishaps.

But cheerleading continues to cause more serious and deadly injuries by far than other sports.

Researchers have long known how dangerous cheerleading is, but records were poorly kept until recently. An update to the record-keeping system last year found that between 1982 and 2007, there were 103 fatal, disabling or serious injuries recorded among female high school athletes, with the vast majority (67) occurring in cheerleading. The next most dangerous sports: gymnastics (nine such injuries) and track (seven).

So sad, I really think the Jackson family should buy “Neverland Ranch” back, and restore its beauty. That’s where Michael was the happiest, with his family, children, and animals. It would be a great place to visit and remember the legacy of the “King of Pop”.

For the first time, an image of a memory being made at the cellular level has been captured by scientists.

The image shows that proteins are created at connections between brain cells when a long-term memory is formed. Neuroscientists had suspected as much, but hadn’t been able to see it happening until now.

The experiment also revealed some surprising aspects of memory formation, which remains a somewhat mysterious process.

Kelsey Martin, a biochemist at the University of California, Los Angeles, and colleagues investigated memory formation in neurons from the sea slug Aplysia californica, a good model for brain cells in other organisms, including humans.

why is everyone sensationalizing the medications that michael jackson was on???!!!!!! yes! he was on dilaudid…yes! he was on demerol…yes!! he was on other drugs!! BUT…if the prescribing doctor was prescribing too much, DEA would have caught it, dilaudid and demerol are class 2 narcotics, and require a triplicate prescription that goes straight to DEA.
if a person jumps off, and takes the meds mj was on, of course it would cause arythmia, and cause his breathing to slow down, and all of that. BUT, for someone who has been on those kinds of drugs for any length of time at all, the body adjusts to it. what he was on, is a usual pain mgmt regimine. personally, i take even stronger doses than mj did, and i function perfectly normally.
so its not actually “a deadly coctail”, unless he began all of those drugs last week! if he was “addicted” to them, then his body..blood pressure, heart rate, etc…has adjusted!!
but i guess thats “news”, play it up!!!
the man is dead. everyone talks about what a great singer and performer he was, so let the man rest in peace, for crying out loud!!!
please do some research on drugs, and addiction before you bash him!! he may have been in great pain, and the drugs may have been warranted!!

I am outraged at the coverage Fox news and Fox and Friends is giving to MJ. Our country is in the process of being sold down the river to complete government control and your channel (which I thought was the last fair and balanced channel) is giving full coverage to a child molester. I am now left with once source to get some fair and balanced news that involves my beloved country and that is Glen Beck. Saturday and Sunday morning going forward I will not have my TV on, but I do record Glen’s show everyday. This is a sad day for me but thank God for Glen Beck.

Comment by Jarian Williams

I Loved Michael Jackson and his music, I wish I would’ve met him, I still can believe he’s gone, I will be praying for the Jackson family, his fans, and his kids.

Comment by Don Roberts

Hello Fox News,
Don’t you have any other news than Michael Jackson???? We are TOTALLY sick of it & all the really
silly details!!! Yes we don’t watch it for 3 days!!! It’s unbelievable to keep turning there & then
exiting!

Comment by Sonja Carrion

We agree with Don Roberts Van. Wa.
We can’t understand why Fox News is spending so much time with the M.J. coverage….I’m sure there are enough news worthy events occurring that effect the Majority of Americans than the passing of a Pop Star with such a checkered past…If Jarian want to pray for someone include the children he molested…Yes he wasn’t convicted but neither was O.J.Simpson…
Watching reruns!

Raymond Castro was a regular at The Stonewall Inn in 1969, finding it a haven from a world where gay men and women could be arrested for kissing or holding hands in public. Inside the bar, where plywood covered the windows, warning lights served as a signal for couples to stop dancing.

When police raided the bar in the past for selling liquor without a license, patrons normally submitted to arrest or dispersed quietly. But on June 28, Castro recalled, people fought back.

As officers tried to throw him in a police wagon, Castro used the vehicle as a spring to push back, knocking them to the ground.

A man who works three jobs to support his family — including one as a limousine driver — has won a $39 million jackpot in California’s SuperLotto Plus.

Clyde Persley, who is married with a 4-year-old daughter, turned in his winning ticket on Tuesday night and should get his first check for about $16 million in four to six weeks, said a California lottery spokeswoman.

The 49-year-old Santa Cruz man operates candy-making machines for Santa Cruz Nutritionals, drives a limousine and picks up extra hours at a restaurant.

He says his first moves will be taking his wife on a trip to Hawaii and hiring a financial adviser.

What is wrong with you people? All that has been on your minds is the child molester MJ. It’s a good thing that something important didn’t happen. We would have never known about it with all the hype about Jackson. Did I hear that some other movie stars die or was it just a rumer?

Comment by BruceWV

Good morning, any buddy home

Comment by William R Gearhart

Enough of Jackson already – I keep turning off the TV when they start on him. There are interesting things to talk about instead of wash-out has-been

Comment by BruceWV

Good morning William. I see that the house passed the energy bill, they are trying to turn WV into a city. Last month the steel mills laid everyone off. The only industry left is coal. So they decide to tax it before there is an alternative.

Comment by Troy Black, Henderson, NV

I keep seeing videos of “Billie Jean” and “Beat It”, et all. Remember 1985? MJ Organized something with Bob Geldolph and all of the recording industry called “We Are The World”? It brought attention to the AIDS crisis when no one in the US or the world cared……. MJ was only what??? 24?

Lets pay some attention to things like that

Comment by Steve from Syracuse

I don’t see the “cash for clunkers” info on your web site where is it?

Comment by Duane

I am tired of MJ coverage already,I watch Fox News all the time but I would like to see something else. There is news out there that is more important to me than MJ. Till it stops I will watch other programs on TV.

Comment by Terri

first of all, michael jackson was never convicted of child molestation!! but MOST of all, cant we have respect for his children and stop with all the jack the ripper stuff? for all we know, the parents of those so called molested children should have BEEN THERE with thier kids, i know i woulda been!! so all i can think of is that it was set up that way so they could “claim” child molestation, and hit the big pay day!! since he was never convicted, that is all i personally can figure!! it makes the most sense!!
but people!!! one day…if not already, that mans children could be reading all of this!! lets have some respect for them!!
LET THE MAN, HIS FAMILY, HIS CHILDREN…AND HIS MEDICAL RECORDS, REST IN PEACE!!!!! I am just as worn out on all the coverage, as anyone else. but i cant help but put myself in his childrens places when they see all of your bashing of thier FATHER!! if YOUR father was “accused” of such things, but never convicted, and the cases thrown out, would YOU want to read a bunch of comments made by narrow minded people who enjoy bad mouthing him? OF COURSE NOT!! STOP IT ALREADY!!!!!
…some people know how to do great things, and be great people. others who do not, talk smack about the great people, in an effort to make themselves look better!!! mj will always be remembered as the greatest musician and entertainer of our time. when you talk smack, it just shows your inability to be a great person, yourself. and your LACK OF INTELLIGENCE!!!!!

Comment by Terri

one more thing to think about….(for those of you who have nothing better to do than talk bad about mj)…..
i dont care what age you are…from 16 to 60, each and every one of you, (unless you have lived under a rock), has a fond memory to mj’s songs!! “Ben” was the first song i remember as i first got interested in music. and “Beat It” was my daughters first favorite song!!
so have some respect!! many millions of us truely liked the guy, and have respect for his talent. and arent just JEALOUS!!
please stop!! his kids can read!!! have some respect!!

Billy Mays, the burly, bearded television pitchman whose boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean made him a pop-culture icon, has died. He was 50.

Tampa police said Mays’ wife found him unresponsive Sunday morning. A fire rescue crew pronounced him dead at 7:45 a.m. It was not immediately clear how he died. He said he was hit on the head when an airplane he was on made a rough landing Saturday, and his wife, Deborah Mays, told investigators he didn’t feel well before he went to bed about 10 p.m. that night.

Folks, I have a question: Over the past few days, photo’s of Michael Jackson’s children have been shown over the media and they don’t appear to have any Afrian – Amerian physical features. Now, he spent years hiding these children behind masks and veils, as well as just hiding them from the world.
If they are truly his biological children, they should show some of his familys African American physical features. Is it possible these children have already experienced some cosmetic surgery to alter their appearances??

Comment by Ellie of Tn.

Enough already of Michael Jackson! It has been now over three days, and we are still hearing about him. There is other, and more interesting news out there, so please quit on Michael! Thanks and thanks again if you stop talking about him. It is like Nicole Smith all over again.

Comment by Diane

Enough with Michael Jackson!! Yes, it is sad that he died. Just let the man rest in peace. It is also sad that Farah and Ed McMahon died. But enough is enough. You told us the story over and over and over again. There is too much other more important things happening in the world. Get on with the news. I turned Fox off all weekend because I could not take it anymore.

It was a crime of epic proportions: a multibillion dollar Ponzi scheme that wiped out fortunes, drained retirement nest eggs, ruined charities and foundations, and even pushed some investors to commit suicide.

Six months after the scandal came to light, the battle lines over Bernard Madoff’s punishment have been drawn. His lawyer insists 12 years in prison is enough. Prosecutors demand a 150-year sentence that would guarantee the 71-year-old spends his final days behind bars.

Some victims were expected to call for harsh punishment at the disgraced financier’s sentencing Monday in federal court in Manhattan. Ten have told U.S. District Judge Denny Chin they wish to speak out in court.

Michael was sick long long ago. There must be nothing else going on in the world.

Cable TV operators won a key legal battle against Hollywood studios and television networks on Monday as the Supreme Court declined to block a new digital video recording system that could make it even easier for viewers to bypass commercials.

The justices declined to hear arguments on whether Cablevision Systems Corp.’s remote-storage DVR system would violate copyright laws. That allows the Bethpage, N.Y.-based company to proceed with plans to start deploying the technology this summer.

With remote storage, TV shows are kept on the cable operator’s servers instead of the DVR inside the customer’s home, as systems offered by TiVo Inc. and cable operators currently do.

There are many web sites that will give you a prescription on record and send you drugs. You will be asked a few questions regarding your health and then you get the prescriptions mailed to you. Just give them your credit card. You might even receive re-fills automatically as long as they can make use your credit card.

I know a few people who have done this, thank GOD they went to Re-Hab

A young girl believed to be the only survivor of an Indian Ocean plane crash flew back to Paris from the Comoros Islands on Thursday to the waiting arms of her father and siblings.

Bahia Bakari, 14, was brought back to France on the plane carrying a government minister and other French officials. The Falcon-900 jet with medical facilities aboard left the archipelago nation of the Comoros, a former French colony, and arrived at Le Bourget airport just north of Paris shortly after 8 a.m.
