Alisyn in the Greenroom

Saturday Morning

We’re on tenterhooks at this hour waiting to see whether the massive protests being promised by the opposition this morning in Iran actually happen.   If so, the Ayatollah is threatening violence and retaliation against the protestors.  How should President Obama handle this?

On a lighter note, we have the funniest clips for you from the Radio and Television Correspondent’s Dinner last night.   Which one was your favorite joke?

Any Troll 2 fans out there?  It’s apparently the worst movie ever made — legend says it ruined the lives of those who stared in it.  Well, it’s back this weekend…we have the former stars and what’s become of them.

As you may know President Obama can’t stop inserting FOX into whatever it is he’s talking about.  What’s your theory on why he’s so FOX fixated?  We’ll debate that.

I’m surprised that the people in Iran have been able to express themselves for so long as it is, I worry what the outcome is to be.

Mac…the time stamp may be wrong for you, but not for everyone!!!! :) WordPress doesn’t seem to want to fiddle with that part, so one adds or subtracts, accordingly, like the clock in the car, which is right, half the time, hum? :)

Good morning Alisyn and all Very stormy night in Ohio. I think Obummer is trying to distract from his agenda. His agenda seems to be losing steam. However it only brings more viewers to fox. A double edged sword for him.

Good morning Ali, Me & Mac

I believe Oidolizeme stays away from Fox because they are the only station that is not putting Oglisteningpecs on a pedestal, as Bernie Goldberg’s book A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (And Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media says.

I totally missed Troll2, so don’t have a clue at all what the story is. Was prob very busy with the journey, so no surprise I might miss a few things along the way. :) We do continue to watch the events in Iran, and pray for the souls lost, and those who continue to speak out, especially since that society is very willing to shoot anyone who doesn’t agree, or so we have seen, fr the pictures coming to us. lol

I think that Obama should make a statement that America, stands for Freedom in every situation.
And that Freedom is being able to settle ones own differences, without other Nations meddling in their affairs. Just make it clear that the U.S stands on the side of Freedom.

Good morning John. I spoke too soon, as it appears the clouds are looking very dark, after a beautiful start to the day, and the appearance that the storms may have passed by.
A message to my fellow bloggers and fans of Aly’s:
Good morning all. It’s a beautiful day here in the great state of Ohio, and hopefully the storms are past, for this day, anyway. I would observe that no one who blogs here is w/o a soul. Great passion is absolutely apparent, on all subjects, by smart, informed and civil citizens. We celebrate our free speech, and this forum, where there is an opportunity to discuss the news of the day with our thoughts of it all. I mourn that missing in it all, our the souls that never had the opportunity to have an opinion at all, because their life was snatched away in the womb. I mourn that a society that celebrates life, was so easily convinced this was a remedy to anything at all, and continue to be mystified that those who think it is just fine, are indeed here, to make their argument, as their life was spared fr an evil idea that somehow the life of a baby has no value. God is weeping for those murdered in the womb, by a society that he has blessed. Happy Father’s Day, to all our dad’s, especially those who did choose to think that all their children had the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We celebrate you all this day…

Good Morning Ms Alisyn,

A fine morning here south of the Capital. I hope you had a great week.

This thing with Iran is a creature of the Democrats own doing, so it is rather appropriate that things blow up with them back in power. As I am sure you know Iran was a friend of the US under the Shah and during the Carter Administration was overthrown due to inaction by that Administration.

Of course then came the hostage crisis where for 444 days US Citizens were held against their will and Carter was unable to do anything about it. Things went way south from there.

Some of course are unaware of the course of events surrounding Iran and thus have no true idea of what leads us to this today.

Looking forward to the show today.

Good morning fellow bloggers.

Good morning Carolyn :) Sam…betcha you are absolutely correct. I think that John has sent his resume for the position of head Czar? I am sure I read that at one point this week…hahahahaha!!! I feel sure, however, that he might be competent for that position? lol :)

Comment by Nick, New York, NY

While it may seem that Obama cannot stop talking about Fox, what he is doing is simply sticking by the “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinksy…rule # 13, which says, “Pick the target, freeze it, and personalize it”.

Chas…it has been reported that the new prez has not experienced much criticizm in his life, so FOX would be a phenomenon he is not used to for sure. One wonders that a man who wanted to be the prez, would be at all alarmed or offended by the citizens whose ideas are part of the American experience. lol :)

Good morning Lanna,
It would appear you are correct in that analogy!!! lol :) Kryptonic…yep! For sure. lol

Likely you are correct, however, another indication that your informed positions might qualify you for Czar of the Czars, hum? lol hahahahaha… :)

The media IS SUPPOSED to criticize, anylize, evaluate, and investigate. They are not supposed to don cheer leading skirts and pom poms and simply sit in his AMEN corner. Carolynro,
You are so right. It no fault of Fox News that the MSM has just forgot what their responsabilities are to the American People.

Comment by olinl

Fox News, being the only news outlet that is not state controlled, is bound to come under attack. Obummer is so arrogant, he cannot believe that anyone could not agree with him. Therefore I doubt that a public outcry, short of what we are seeing in Iran, would change his thinking.

Comment by Gini

Good morning Nick..I agree with you. Effective, to a point, but would seem some are thinking he may be “nice enough”, however his abilities to administer his office might be on shaky ground. A nice looking person, with a nice looking fam, does not necessarily mean one is tooled to do their job, after all. lol :)

Comment by Joe Sturniolo

Come on! Even you have to realize the the reason that the president often mentions Fox is because Fox is constantly being critical of him in your own “fair and balanced” (not) way

Comment by Gini

oh oh oh!!! Aly!!! anything that sparkles and/or lights up, would be so fun, hum??? ha! I LOVE it, I say!!!! :) :)

Comment by Gini

Awwww Sturniolo, we might disagree with that, but celebrate your view anyway. Actually, one has the opportunity to search many venues, and make up their mind, hum? FOX, in my opinion, is a great source for the news of the day. If you are thinking it’s NOT, why are you watching? Welcome, however…lol You are watching the best of the best, of course. Yep… :)

Comment by Nick, New York, NY

Let’s see…while Obama was at the dinner making jokes, let’s take a look at the state of the USA…

north korea amazingly speaks about sending a missle, perhaps with a nuke warhead) over hawaii as if we were a 2 bit banana republic.

north korea is moving a ship loaded with 25,000 lbs of nuke material warning the us not to come near it or risk war

iran is rioting, trying to change (thought obama loved change) and throw out a modern day hitler who represses women, ethnic minorites and others, claims the holocaust is a hoax, and obama does nothing, says nothing, offers no encouragement….

iran maniac gives speeches about anilhiating isreal and the usa and obama says nothing…

hamas govt threatens our long standing ally israel while obama says nothing….

we have 500 terror suspects at gitmo that may be let go and let go right here in our country just 7 plus years after 9/11….

on top of the economic disaster Obama is putting us through higher unemployment, lower stock market, lower industrial production, increasing the deficit 4 fold in the middle of a recession, allowing China to own most of our rising debt, runaway spending, higher taxes on all of us, rich and poor, regulating private businesses, free market interference etc, the international implications of a former community organizer is harrowing and poses a threat to not only our lives, but the lives of the world. Hopefully a foreign leader like sarkozy or merkel will come to our rescue.

Comment by Gini

Marisa, good morning. Sides? hummmm…well, I guess it is always subject to a person’s view point, and of course, how informed that viewer might be, abt the news of the day, the history of it all, and the ability to research many venues, hum? Some do it better, of course, than others…of course. :)

Perhaps you missed when Chris Matthews of MSNBC said Obama gives him chills up his leg and that when Obama won, Matthews said, on air, that he was going to make it his job to make sure Obama is successful??? Did you miss that, Marissa?

And why IS Fox number one in our country? More libs watch Fox than do conservatives according to their internal polling. Perhaps you folks who want to cast Fox as biased should do some research instead of the continual pounding away with the lies that are told on other “jealous” news outlets!!!

Hi Gini….I mean it is overwhelming…and in thinking, there is no way this guy could be where he is without a full charge election fraud and manipulation. This is why, in my opinion, he hasn’t spoken out about fraud in Iran….and this census non-sense is the latest attempt to spread the mustard seeds of cancer throughout our system to ensure that when this jerk is long gone, his legacy will live on. He exists for only one thing–to spread his socialistic beliefs like a plague, not to lead now, but to plant the seeds (the socials programs, the supreme court nominees, cap and trade, taxes ,corp takeovers, rulings from the bench, etc.). scary stuff…..

Comment by Jimmy

the seems most Democrats have selectively forgotten all the Bush Bashing they did during his term….and well after…..but those same people don’t want anyone to dare make any remarks about Obama’s lack of abilty to lead….or about the huge mistakes he is making

Comment by carolynro

If you are an Obama fan you are going to be defensive if you hear something that you consider to be critical. There is nothing wrong with that. And there is nothing wrong with investigating or analyzing a president. But, in a country where the networks have been anti just about everything conservatives believe in many of us don’t think the media has been fair until Fox came along. That’s all.

Comment by Frank C

Morning all,

Comment by chas

Ms Alisyn has no problem with criticism of Fox here. But this blog is about the show and that along with the topics shown above are the areas of discussion with which we should be involved.

The topic is the Presidents fixation on Fox, not others dislike of Fox.

Which, if you think of it is like you walking into someones house and complaining about the decoration and room design. Would you do that to someone’s face? I doubt it.

Right Chas: But it is actually one in the same. You don’t think that his criticisim of Fox is not some sort of message and his fans will go out in full force and do the Sol Alinsky thing here as has been happening for the last several weeks? If someone comes with an honest curiosity or opinon it is one thing. But, to come in and to go straight past the topic and on to bashing Fox don’t you find that a nice coincidence? And even if Obama is not sending out a message there are enough folks out there who will think it is and act accordingly.

What was the topic again? Oh yeah why can’t Obama stop talking about Fox? It is the same reason the other talk shows won’t stop trying to make Rush the leader of the republican party…it is a intentional plan to “Alinsky” him.

Since when is it wrong for people to want to know where thier money is going.
We keep asking , and He and his people keep not answering.
The Obama administration, is moving too fast on things that the American people have not asked for nor endorsed. They are moving very fast on an agenda that is not in sinc with the American people.
All I can say is – they really better listen soon.
True a President would be hard to replace in Mid-term. But, well, now a Community Organizer ?
That I think he might not be such a task to replace.
I honestly have not seen one thing from Obama that appears to be Presidential .

I wonder why the press clapped so loudly when the President praised his his Supreme Court nominee at last night’s dinner. It’s one thing to laugh at jokes, but quite another for the press to show approval of a nominee.

Well, youb have to give it to Obama for how is on tv every day. He is trying to do what Reagan did- talk over the media. But, the media back then was not for Reagan.

The obvious support by the media is what is driving me nuts. They further embolden the president with their tacit approval of him when they are not supposed to be the only people he is “playing” to.
He is supposed to be workiong for the country- not for applause and adoration of the press who will only write good things about him.

We do celebrate free speech, after all. lol :) And the “freedom” to scroll past, as well. lol Cookies, however, might be in order, and smiles dispensed as well. lol We are a joyous and hopeful group as a rule, and do celebrate the opportunity to muse over the news of the day, on the weekends w/Alisyn. lol :) :) :)

Carolyn :) It is maddening for sure, but apparently for the moment anyway, some of the media have gotten their job confused, and have moved fr presenting the news, to a position of commentator. lol The citizen who does not recognize this, will be fooled into thinking the news has been presented, when indeed, a point of view ON the news of the day, has been presented AS the news. Alisyn,

Praying for John Ensign; as a Christian, I know that no one is perfect. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of His glory.” However, I’ve noticed that you guys aren’t reporting the Ensign scandal. Why is this? Did your boss say you couldn’t? You guys ripped Edwards apart. Is this fair and balanced?
Also, one of the guys just said, re: the fly, “This story has taken on a life of its own.” No, you gave it life by going on, and on, and on about it.

Comment by Mary

Good Morning Alisyn and to everyone on the blog this morning! I was up all night due to bad storms through central PA, and I actually slept in today.

In regard to the “one” and his mention of Fox News so many times: He has never had anyone tell him that he is doing bad things to our economy or that he has ever done anything bad. He has always had praise and adoration from this family and radical friends. What do you expect? He can dish it out, but he can’t take it. If he can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Also to the Cookie Czar, the helicopter is grounded due to the weather so we won’t be able to fly anywhere for selling the our sweet treats!

The Guns in Bars was a poorly handled segment. You should get the facts prior to airing. Many states with carry permits allow you to carry your handgun into a RESTURANT that serves alcohol. There are other rules that normally apply though. If you as the carrier comsume alcohol, your carry permit is no longer valid, therefore you are carrying illegally and are subject to arrest. Georgia already has this law on the books and it has not been an issue.

I believe obama talks about Fox so much because he is afraid of you and your coverage. We all know that he uses snide comments and sarcasm against anyone who questions him. The “Great One”
(heavy sarcasm here) just doesn’t know how to handle Fox.

Comment by Retro

Does anyone see a connection between what happens in a country with state-run media which only touts the official Party Line like ABC will be doing for the health care propganda show, like MSNBC does, like Letterman does, and like the President seems to think Fox should also do and what happens in a place like Iran where there is only state-run media?

Saul Alinsky in his Rules for Radicals had the technique Obama seems familiar with of trying to attack and make fun of your enemies and Obama and his in the tank media have done this from Day One. He attacks Fox because he wants state-run media he controls, like Iran has. If not for Fox, we would have czar mullahs running every aspect of our country and a Dear Leader brooking no dissent. Just. Like. Iran.

Did those who voted for “hope and change” think they were voting for a dictatorship suppressing fair and balanced media like Fox? Better watch what you wish for.

The Corporations having fun with our money should not surprise anyone. Obama took his wife on an expensive “date” at our expense. Some aspects of Government spend our money for all sorts of idiotic things and the Corporations are now (thanks to the so called stimulus and TARP) just an extension of our Government.

Comment by Patrick Tucker

I hate to say it because I generally rely on Fox for all news coverage, but you are being beaten by both CNN and BBC on Iranian protest coverage this morning. This could be the story of this generation-I know you don’t have reporters there but up to the minute coverage via Twitter and other network sites would be helpful. Your interviews of Iranian families in in US is nice, but not news.

Comment by lori

Good morning Alisyn, all

The president is taking heat from the right and the left for his policies regarding Iran it seems to me that must be the right balance.

My husband recently visited Iran to visit a particle board plant. He was consdering using it for his supply chain, he ultimately decided against that idea. He was pleasantly surprised to see the country/men/women to be educated, “modern”, and friendly to American’s. They were egar to please the American businessmen and were wonderful hosts. His impression was that there are two Irans, one of the people and one of the government.

I missede most of the coverage of the Radio and Televison dinner last night but what I did over hear from the kitchen, I thought the president was very funny, but not as funny as our last president.

A tough week in my household this week… my oldest daughter was hit broadside and totaled her car… All is fine, but it was a call that is every mother’s nightmare… it puts petty political argements in a different perspective doesn’t it?

Comment by Gini

Good morning marshall g :)

Comment by Liz

I agree Retro, there needs to be different opinions in the media and to Fox’s credit they do put on “Democrats” for panel discussions, etc., but they tend to “bash” those opinions, sometimes right after they are expressed. Obama knows Fox’s agenda, but I think he (and pretty much everyone in the country) is dumbfounded by how far they go in distorting the facts to suit them. It seems they are hell bent on making sure this administration has no chance of succeeding, which as Americans we should be outraged about. They say they report, you decide, but what they mean is “let us decide for you.”

Comment by Daylin

Fox does not “bash” other’s views. They just give a different perspective. At least Fox is willing to have both Conservative AND Liberal views. MSM has only the liberal side and we are supposed to swallow it without question.

Iran is a mess….. Hope we never have to go through that here in this country…..can you imagine? Violence is not the answer. But sometimes talking is not enough either…
They need one leader, who is elected by the people to lead the country. There was an election, and fixed or not, it’s a process. The “current” leader should be the one to make sure there is no “perception” of fixing the election. (He failed to do that!)
It’s going to get rough over there.

Comment by Jimmy

Wow, Lori, I’m glad your daughter is alright. What a week you had.

Jon Stewart sent a reporter to Iran, and they are quite west-friendly. I was very surprised. I believe the US was involved in putting a dictator in Iran to begin with….I need to do some research on that, but the “games we played in the past!” There have been times in the past when Iran was democratic, amazingly enough.

Marshall G, I have noticed since the 2000 election, that the dems and libs have gone out of their way to be “mean spirited” as you well note. However, I had seen many years ago the way in which the party was headed and decided to make a change for the better.

Rob,

Iran was always friendly until we failed to support the Shah, who was making things democratic and economic gains were making a real change in the Country.

Our lack of support allowed the Mullah’s take over and the Theocracy, not the people, became unfriendly.

Some claim that the Shah was vicious as a ruler, however it turns out the Mullah’s were even more so killing thousands of dissectors in order to hold on to power.

So we created our own problem by turning our backs on them in the late 70’s.

The finally woke up the day Clinton was elected to office. The very next day after his won his election I changed my party. I saw the way the country was headed then, and it continues to this day. The party is all about government interfering in every aspect of our lives, entitlement. The people that rely on the government to help them, will vote them in every time. For years, I voted for the best man to serve in the position of President. However, I changed my party whenever Clinton was elected.

Whoa, I should have proofread that post. I finally woke up.

Comment by Rob in VaBeach

Chas- Iran was in fact a tyranny and it’s leaders held on to the country through fear. The people there do not want to return to that type of leadership. They are desperate to be a part of the democracy that is sweeping the world….we all need to get along, and respect others. Reagan, once in office, told them to give back our hostages, or “else”. And they knew he was serious. They did not want America to come to Iran, and open their doors to the world…
Now their doors are open to the world, through technology…. technology will help keep us honest in this world….
Obama needs to be given a chance to impose the democratic ideals on our society, as the republicans have had the past 8 years, and drove us into the mess we are in, or at least allowed it to happen. CEO’s must be stopped!!

Typical, blaming everyone else instead of looking in a mirror. While the “past” made its mistakes, it did not print more money than can be covered by assets, leading to the inflations that is sure to come (looking to the future) and mortgaging my children and my grandchildren’s future. We can all sit back and spend, spend, spend because it is THEY that will be picking up the bill. Personally, I would rather pay my own bills than shackle my children with my debts.

Liz, it isn’t the function of the news media to “make sure Obama succeeds”. It isn’t the role of the news media to “support” the President. Did you think the media’s job was to support and make President Bush’s priorities succeed as well? Did the criticism nonstop of him and his policies concern you as well that the majority of the press engaged in?

There is a distinct liberal bias in the media, and this is a dangerous thing unless you want to become like Iran with “state controlled media”. Read Bernard Goldberg’s excellent books, Bias and Arrogance for a true picture of the media and what it is doing and has become.

Fox definitely has mamy liberal voices on all the time. But where will the opposing poing point of view be presented on ABC’s giant healthcare Obamamercial when they will not allow either Republicans to speak or even paid advertisements expressing an opposing point of view on an issue of this importance and are turning over their programming to one party and a President with an agenda? What part of state run media isn’t this?

How is different from what is being propagandized in Iran by the state?

And why is a sitting President disparaging any media outlet he does not control? Does this not disturb you?

rob,

Iran was much freer under the Shah than it ever was under the Mullah’s.

That aside, yes, it would seem a movement is under way to to oust the present dictators, for although they elect a leader it is only the leader the Mullah’s want to see in office.

I wish them well.

Little did they know that they (and the nesteggs of lots of Americans) were about to be “looted” by the banks, who carry many Senators in their pockets….mostly Southern conservatives.

Until you educate yourself about what went wrong, it’s not fair to place blame anywhere. I did a lot of research on it and I’m almost 100% sure about my conclusions!

Food for thot….Sam, why are you copying all my posts? Is it fun? Here’s one more…..

The purpose of government, according to the Constitution itself, is to “promote the general welfare.” Basic income will do just that, directly and efficiently. Most government programs do not promote the general welfare but only the special welfare of specific individuals, groups, businesses, or industries. We can cut or eliminate those programs. Because many programs rely on tax credits and deductions, eliminating them will simplify the tax code and facilitate tax cuts.

The Constitution does not say anything about creating jobs. When everyone has the security of a basic income, our government can focus on its proper and intended roles: protecting individual freedom and national security.

We can afford a basic income of $600 a month for every adult without raising taxes, simply by cutting the government programs it makes superfluous, welfare and corporate welfare and associated bureaucracies. That would reduce poverty by half, at least, according to analyses by Professor Irwin Garfinkle at Columbia University. Reducing poverty means quick and dramatic effects on hunger, homelessness, and associated problems like crime, illegal drugs, and HIV/AIDS.

Most versions of a basic income include only adult citizens; some add a smaller amount for children; and the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend goes to everyone age six months or older. One plan, Citizen Policies, would have everyone give something back to the community through some type of service, eight hours a month; that service would replace some government programs and help pay for the basic income. We can debate those details after the main idea is generally known.

You know there is this game I used to play, called Roller Coaster. Anyone ever heard of it? It’s all about “building” a theme park.
There is this roller coaster, in a theme park, which really represents society. You have to balance all the things needed to run the park. You budget money, allocate new rides, open and operate restaurants, and put trash cans, whatever is needed to ensure the park runs smoothly. Anyway, if you don’t add enough trash cans, or restaurants, or whatever is needed to operate the park successfully, you will have problems, like riots and unrest. Being President is much like playing this game….you have to balance the societies problems and create answers to all the issues that arise with the people. You cannot “take” and not give back. There has to be some balance in the two – Giving and taking. Working people and businesses who create jobs, leads to paying taxes, which leads to government growth, and creating an atomosphere where we can all live in a prosperous (not monetarily speaking), safe environment, where as everyone contributes, and everyone prospers. If you don’t contribute, you don’t receive rewards. Our society is one of the best in the world and we all need to appreciate it more. We could be living in Iraq or Iran, maybe Cuba or Africa where there is nothing much to look forward to when you wake up in the morning but desolation and poverty. No matter who is president, I prefer to live here in the good ol “USA”. What about you?

I think the reason that the President keeps bringing up Fox new is that he wants to make sure that if any of his supporters stumble onto the channel they will already be primed to believe that it’s all biased and false information. He tells them who to distrust, (in his soothing and masked way) and those are the ones who have the most information pointing to the opposite side of his debates.

It’s all very strong powerful mind and thought direction appealing to the masses who want to feel happy and ok, no matter what the cost. People want to believe that he is good and on their side. And he is if you’re of the same mindset. but if you do not agree with his process, then you are merely an insect that needs to quit flying around and being pesty.

Meanwhile, I’ll move on and you angry people can have your forum to complain and bash our president before he’s had a chance. Fox is only #1 because of the way they sensationalize (and distort) the news, and most people are highly offended by it, but they watch to see what craziness will happen next. You’ll find out in the next election. Meanwhile, I’ll watch “balanced” MSNBC to see what good moderates might emerge. I hope some do because otherwise the Republican party is toast, and I wouldn’t like to see that happen. (really)

That one was posted on one of last Sunday’s threads, Sam. Didn’t know if you saw it, but it was the first time she said she was leaving today.

As Cookie Czar, I would need to contact LizK, chief of the Dept of Counting, to get an accurate count indeed, but have noted the mention of the need to count by other constituents chking in to see what the heck is going on, as I really don’t have time for any of it, being still in Tahiti, but so glad to know that A Wall isn’t a wall at all, but safe w/her first staffer, or so has been reported, I think, or at any rate, mentioned in some memo by some staffers staff at one point or another, but it really doesn’t matter at all, as I am certain I do know tho not specifically certain abt what I might know at any given moment at all. lol :)

“Great passion is absolutely apparent, on all subjects, by smart, informed and civil citizens.”

Where are they Gini…..not on this forum for sure! I wish I could find them!

(really)

What will you do without a troll? I might watch for a while and see….I bet the comments will dry up…..unless you keep it going with your cookie/koolaid nonsense! Let’s see if you can keep me OUT of the conversation! That includes not only referring to me by name, but referring to me at all!

I’m going back to the mainstream where it’s “sane”!

I’d like to say it’s been nice knowing you…….

Omrabc’s rants about FOX might just have the opposite affect he is hoping for, might draw even more first time viewers to FNC, just as his rant against Rush Limbaugh has made me a faithful listener.

Sal, as chief of the Dept of Kitchen, {not that you said you would take the post} a memo has been sent to your staff and staffers, that oreo’s have been added and will need to be stamped as approved as well as any other cookies, but not withstanding, of course, any decision you or your staff or staffers might think abt it all, of course. lol :)

Comment by Gini

Betty…an observation made earlier of course, and one might hope that those who have not been as informed, might be drawn to look at FOX, and decide they like what they see, after all. lol :)

Aaaah thanks Gini, I may have missed that earlier as this was a busy scrolling morning for me, busier than usual.

Sam, it has been observed by many that Aly’s is addictive. I would suggest that is definitely true, so there is no surprise at all, that everyone and anyone would come back many times, even if they cannot see that those who do come “regularly” are smart, informed, always civil, and definitely passionate abt their country and all things concerned, including the prez, who, after all is the leader in chg of it all, and would be subject to scrutiny as that is our tradition. lol

Sure I will take the post..No problem Gini.
but for now… I have to go to work,
Have a great day everyone.

Morning Joke

Scarborough has struck out in every category: TV, radio and publishing. His widely-touted The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America’s Promise has bombed, selling just 6432 copies since its 9 June release, according to new Bookscan figures. At Amazon, it has already dropped out of the top 100, currently ranked 166.

The problem is that some people will not accept the product of scrutiny.

Sam,

The misinterpretation of the preamble is understandable with individuals who fail to read the historical events surrounding the Republic. This idea is presented again in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution along with the only powers afforded the Federal Government. None of which, BTW, give the Federal Government the power to take my money and give it to someone else.

However it is with the restriction that the Government is bound by the Clauses of Article 1, Section 8.

To paraphrase Franklin, The Government protects your right to pursue happiness, it’s up to you to catch it.

Olin…acceptance is not requisite. One may scrutinize, whether or not the one who is the object of that scrutiny, accepts it or not. ergo, the complaint. lol :)

Morning Joe’s MSNBC ratings aren’t exactly something to crow about, either: on Wednesday of this week, the most recent Nielsen ratings your Radio Equalizer could obtain, Scarborough turned in a weak 0.3 household rating, which translates to an average of 277,000 average viewers and just 93,000 in the 25-54 demo.

These numbers don’t lie and the lesson for any budding Morning Joe-types out there is clear: the audience isn’t stupid. They can sniff out a backstabbing weasel with remarkable speed, putting an early end to Scarborough’s transparent get-rich-quick scheme.

And, by the way, I would gladly trade the 8 days a week that I toil, for 8 hours a month. But not even the couch potatoes will go for that.

And, besides, the government can’t afford me.

John Kerry, at al, have touted the congressional health care plan as the greatest thing since sliced bread. Has anyone examined how much that would cost if every man, woman and child wer included in that plan?
