Renowned dinosaur hunter Nathan Murphy was sentenced Wednesday to four months in a halfway house and three years probation after pleading guilty to stealing fossils.

Murphy was accused of stealing 13 dinosaur bones from central Montana’s Hell Creek badlands in 2006. He pleaded guilty in April to theft of government property.

U.S. District Judge Sam Haddon also sentenced him to 300 hours of community service and ordered him to pay $17,325 in restitution.

Phillies slugger Ryan Howard extended his consecutive games streak by hitting a three-run homer as a pinch-hitter on Saturday night, hours after he was hospitalized with flu symptoms.

The 2006 National League MVP has played 343 straight games since May 25, 2007, the longest active streak in the majors. Before the Phillies played the Baltimore Orioles, manager Charlie Manuel said Howard was unavailable.

But with the Phillies trailing 3-2 in the seventh, Howard came up with two runners on and two outs. He connected against reliever Danys Baez for a drive into Philadelphia’s bullpen to give the Phillies a 5-3 lead. It was his fifth career pinch-hit homer.

Meanwhile, I’ll move on and you angry people can have your forum to complain and bash our president before he’s had a chance. Fox is only #1 because of the way they sensationalize (and distort) the news, and most people are highly offended by it, but they watch to see what craziness will happen next. You’ll find out in the next election. Meanwhile, I’ll watch “balanced” MSNBC to see what good moderates might emerge. I hope some do because otherwise the Republican party is toast, and I wouldn’t like to see that happen. (really)

What will you do without a troll? I might watch for a while and see….I bet the comments will dry up…..unless you keep it going with your cookie/koolaid nonsense! Let’s see if you can keep me OUT of the conversation! That includes not only referring to me by name, but referring to me at all!

I’m going back to the mainstream where it’s “sane”!

Good morning all. It’s a beautiful day here in the great state of Ohio, and hopefully the storms are past, for this day, anyway. I would observe that no one who blogs here is w/o a soul. Great passion is absolutely apparent, on all subjects, by smart, informed and civil citizens. We celebrate our free speech, and this forum, where there is an opportunity to discuss the news of the day with our thoughts of it all. I mourn that missing in it all, our the souls that never had the opportunity to have an opinion at all, because their life was snatched away in the womb. I mourn that a society that celebrates life, was so easily convinced this was a remedy to anything at all, and continue to be mystified that those who think it is just fine, are indeed here, to make their argument, as their life was spared fr an evil idea that somehow the life of a baby has no value. God is weeping for those murdered in the womb, by a society that he has blessed. Happy Father’s Day, to all our dad’s, especially those who did choose to think that all their children had the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We celebrate you all this day…

A judge should not delay Bernard Madoff’s sentencing even though investigators have yet to determine how much money investors lost in the disgraced financier’s multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme, prosecutors said.

A fragmentary record of the activities of Madoff’s firm, some of it going back as far as 1979 and on microfilm that needs to be digitized, has delayed efforts to identify each victim and losses, prosecutors said in court filings Friday in the Southern District of New York.

Reconstructing the record is likely to take several more months, but should not delay the 71-year-old’s scheduled June 29 sentencing, they argued. They requested a 90-day extension beyond the sentencing date for the court to take up the issue of restitution.

You got it Sam! Everyone has a different idea about what constitutes a “soul” and they have the “right” to make that decision. I’m not into taking away rights. Don’t sell your soul to people like Hannity and Limbaugh because they don’t know what a soul is either….or maybe they’ve already sold theirs. What makes you think you know what a soul is John?

If you are so passionate about taking away the rights of women, what are you doing about it? (I don’t expect an answer, but I would be surprised to get one) Your simplsitic answers to everything are pretty funny….and they don’t take much thought!
