Just saw that segment with the two women advocating marrying for money. If a woman marries for money with as little concern for love or compatibility as the guests seemed to suggest, then I would say the man is making little more than a deal with a prostitute that he will be her only client.
What if the man looses his money? Should the woman divorce him? Or maybe she should divorce him before so she gets to be the one that makes him poor?
I would question if they advocate that women marry for money then what do they think men should marry for? Sex & looks?

I would be interested to know if either of the guests is married? If they are, how much is their husband worth? If they aren’t do they really expect any man to ever marry them now?

I for one would like to hear A-Rod reply on National Television.

FYI, a hip to waist ratio of 0.7 would mean a wasit of 25″ for hips of 36″. A woman size 10 has hips of 40″, meaning a “perfect” waist would be 28″.

Is putting the FDA in charge of the tobacco industry a prelude to legalizing marijuana and putting that under the FDA umbrella too? Seems likely.

So I was visiting the new primate exhibit at our local zoo and got to thinking just how truly wrong Letterman’s vomments (that’s a cross between comments and vomit) conerning Palin’s daughter were. And what’s even worse is the lack of outrage over it across the networks. I can’t figure out what happened to the Dave I used to stay up late for in the 80’s……he’s just an angry, bitter, old fool anymore. Sadly this will probably only help his ratings by generating interest.

Nothing has worked with them. It’s really a matter of big concern. They have two american journalists in labour camp, they are enriching uranium and threatening military action. To them it’s about face. The North Koreans want to show the world they can do anything they want and they could not care less what anyone thinks about it. Will diplomacy work? I think with so many sanctions imposed they really don’t care and they are used to it. Will incentives to stop the nuclear tests work? But then you face dealing with a rogue nation. This is a very slippery slope. No easy answer. Sanctions don’t work. military action not a good idea for anyone. It’s all about power and it has always been about power. Sad situation.

Short of starting yet another war in another region of the world there is not much we can do except try to marginalizes them as much as possible. Keep trying to put pressure on China to step up to the plate, and perhaps target their nuke sites.. Other than that not much we can do, I am sure that is why nothing has been done thus far.

My personal opinion is they should take a page out of the democrats play book when we were wandering in the woods, and were hijacked by the left left wing of our party. The DLC was formed and the co-chair (Bill Clinton) arose from the ashes and became our party’s leader for the next 16 years…

I also think that whatever we do – We should definately not listen too anything that the “UN” has to say about anything we do . And we should not comment on anything that say to us or about us.

Good morning all… To stay on subject here Ali, it seems to me, we need to wind up our operations in Iraq and remove our troops from there, and then we need to forget Afghanistan and move into Pakistan (where Al-queda lives now).
Then we go “kick the crap out of Korea” (might just need a fly-over there), and then we can concentrate on what Iran is doing…because now Ahmadinejad just got more strength and power (that will most likely inflate his ego!), and he will become blatently more arrogant.

CBS and Letterman needs to be fined for Lettermans actions. The head of CBS needs to make a public apology with Letterman in attendance. There is no difference between what he said and Imus has said. Where is the outcry from folks like Matt Laur and the Liberal press.

Had Hanity, O’ Reilly, Beck or Limbaugh would have made the same remarks about anyone’s daughter, public figure or not they would have demanded an apology.

I’ve been thinking about the President’s salary and his double standard. Since he’s regulating CEO’s salaries, should he take a cut in pay? If any government supported or “bailed out” company can only pay their CEO $250,000 per year, I believe he should set the example of caking a cut of his $400,000. I can’t help but wonder why this has not come up on any news program or commentary.

Ed, Letterman did apologize and he invited her on the show. I think she should accept the invitation. Jay Leno did worse jokes about her last fall. I remember one of them distinctly. He said “Palin has to take her kids with her on the campaign trail because if she leaves them home alone, they get pregnant.” I guess she missed that one. I agree that it was tasteless, but she did get an apology from Letterman. What do you want, his head on a platter?

In Gitmo, there are land mine fields surrounding the base, to keep the Cubans out, the American’s in, whatever…. since they want to close the base, which has been occupied for 100 years by American military (and their family’s at one time, before they detainee’s got there), makes sense that we have to remove the land mines there…..well problem solved. Since the base in Gitmo is closing as ordered, which has been a major base for American military, who used to conduct military training there for it’s Naval forces. This base has landmines surrounding the perimeter of the base, which helps security forces to keep the Cuban’s out, and the American’s in.
Seems appropriate that we send the detainee’s out to find the mines that have been buried there for years, before we vacate the island. Do some housecleaning….
The twist here is to “turn the map of the landmines, upside down before we give it to them!”

Hi Alisyn, you mentioned this morning how the Iranian government is blocking internet access to the news within the country as well test messaging. Wouldn’t it be a good use of our government’s funds to utilize modern technology to somehow override their blocks or make available alternate ways to make sure the news gets into Iran so their citizens know the truth about what is happening in their country.

Just watched segment on car seats for rear facing for 4 yr olds. I was wondering what are you going to do when the circulation in their legs are cut off from being propped up on the back of the seat? Or with all the problems we are having with car companys going bankrupt , when can add for them to have them backseats to have holes cut out for kids to put their legs. I think rear facing car seat for older children are crazy. I believe the dr who did this survey must not have children. With all the money they spend on the laws can’t they just stop spending and just inforce the saftey laws we all ready have.

Ah, fond memories of the plane ride I had w/an oil rig crew, coming home. Drinks all around, and my seat was right in the middle of those great guys, with a huge sense of humor, and glad to be heading home for a few weeks. lol Yrs ago, but remembered fondly, for sure. lol

I’m joining you late . . .again. I will make one comment, and only one for now. I hope President Obama shows that he is willing to do more than TALK to North Korea and Iran. I’m not saying bomb them, but the strongest santions possible are in order. I also feel it would help if he communicates his resolve (if he has any) to both these tyrants. At the present time, they look like a couple of sharks in the water that see the only thing between them and their buffet is a little “minnow” whose name is Obama. He needs to stop apologizing, bowing, and squeaking; and afterwards he should start growling and showing some teeth.

Just a simple question, can you cite me a single example of where sanctions have worked on any dictatorship?

Can you tell me how much good sanctions have proved thus far with North Korea, or Iran? No noticeable difference that I have observed.

I’m not picking on you by any means, I just don’t see where a dictator has to be concerned how sanctions effect his people when he doesn’t worry about being elected and has all the guns.

Of course, sanctions only work when EVERYONE participates, and only marginally at that. Since everyone is not going to participate, it seems useless, but might be a good first step.
