This Pirate problem was played out once before. We solved it by sending the navy and a land force, Jefferson was President, to pound the Barbary Coast into Peace. Just going after the pirates isn’t going to stop these attacks so long as the Government, and I use the term loosely, is going to turn a blind eye to the actions.

Decline? Let’s ask that again when the people do a reality check on their paycheck in a couple of years. Let’s ask again when we are paying the price for 12 million illegal citizens made legal.

I am hoping the US Navy gets the Navy SEALS involved. I am looking forward to hearing Gov. Huck this morning as I have a lot respect for his opinion. With all the problems we have in our country, we surely do not need to become a heathen nation – if we haven’t reached that point already. Because we are having so many murders of children such as Sandra Cantu, we have enough heathens in America.

I dont think Religion in Politics should be fading. Look at the outrage after the President of Notre Dame offered Obama an Honorary Law Degree. Not only Catholics are protesting but other Christian Faiths. Anyone wanting to sign the petition against can go to Notredamescandal.com.

I have been out of the country so I can comment on Sandra Cantu murder. I will be eager to hear the full story from you this morning.

I have been reading about the change in demographics concerning the religious right and the changing agenda. In fact my last democratic party meeting it was main topic and I listened to several speakers discussing the changes in the GOP. According to recent data the “young evangelic’s” have many social concerns, not just the right to life issues. they are concerned with feed the poor, caring for the sick/elderly, and enviormental issues some of those issues cross party lines. There are many in the RR that feel the GOP have just used them for a voting bloc and have only given lip service to their issues as evident (in their view) with the Terry Schivo (sp) incident.

It was not MSU’s year, they needed an extra ordinary game and they needed the tar heels to play their worst game… lol didn’t happen… I was on campus yesterday and the kids are still jazzed they made it that far though.. I thought it amazing last night as I watched O’Reilly (with John Kasick subbing), and again this morning as Clayton brought it up.. how quickly the left turns..!!
During the campaign..EVERYTHING that President Bush did in the middle east was illegal, unwarranted, immoral, etc.
And yet, last night, a “Democratic Strategist”, with a plain face, stated that it was OK for Obama to do anything he needed to do to keep this country safe.
Now…if he had only been truthful in his continuing campaign….

The separation of church and state was a double edge thing. He felt the Government had no place in it at all. Neither towards or especially against ANY church.

The story about the gentleman that got arrested for pushing the flight attendant out of the way to use the restroom is ridiculous. The gentleman should of just went in is pants. And let the airline attendant deal with the stench for the rest of the flight, HAHA. What would of happened if he did that, sat back down and continued on with his flight. When he got off the flight he would file a complaint against the airline for not being able to relieve a natural function, a health concern??? Contact the health department and gone after the airline!!!!

My wife at 8 months pregnant had to use the restroom on a United flight, there was a long line about 10-12 people just after take off. When she walked to first class to ask about using there restroom, they were very rude and told here to sit down and just wait for the line to go down. We will never fly United again

And we are up with our cupa, watching the best show on t.v. Good morning to you Visitor. Glad you are back, and I also appreciate separation of government from a “state religion”, imposed on the citizen.
We continue to pray for the captured hostages, among whom is our captain, and the quick riddance of pirates who threaten our seas. Yes Chas, there is a lesson to be learned by Jefferson’s quick answer to this.
Everyone is in favor of and actively participates in feeding and clothing the poor among us, so the observation that somehow this isn’t true if one is a conservative is ridiculous, of course. Those who advocate this opinion, perhaps appreciate the “class warfare” as a tool to fool the population into believing otherwise, an evil and untrue position, I think. I continue to be gravely offended by this position taken by uniformed citizens who like to continue to stir the pot, instead of finding a solution.
Our faith? As a people, that just isn’t in jeopardy. Again, those who argue this, haven’t “read the end of the story” apparently, hum? Perhaps they also have skipped the flight from an oppressive environment, seeking “religious freedom”, another view point which puzzles me, from people who should, indeed, know better. Of course, the would attack during this holy season, to no one’s surprise. We smile, because his power pales in the “light of faith”, hum?

Jefferson BTW, a noted man of peace, sent the Navy in and only managed to get a unstable peace in which we still paid a ransom for captives. It wasn’t until Madison, 1815, sent a navy that put an end to the problem without paying any tribute.

In regards to the airline incident involving the close call with a potential “biological attack”, I think the airlines are out of control. They are treating their customer like criminals under the guise of “security”. As a customer, this man should have been offered an alternative to the restroom the flight crew had blocked. You would never see every restroom in any other business closed without an alternative. As a human being, this man deserved the right to privately express his issues without having to resort to pushing his way by an obstinate, power hungry flight attendant. Unless there were some security reasons for this man not using the first class restroom, this man’s record should be cleared, and the flight attendant fired, or at least sent to mandatory sensitivity, conflict management, and customer support training.

Re: The man on the flight wanting to use the bathroom. Exact same thing happened to me on a Northwest flight (now Delta), except no flight attendant stopped me going into the business class bathroom (I was seated in economy), but when I came out there was 2 flight attendants berating me because I used the business class bathroom, I explained I could not negotiate the aisles because of foodcarts, it made no difference to them. Fortunatley, I sat quiet and did not respond to their taunts. Ridiculous rules, and power in the hands of puny minded people.

Since we have war ships in the area, why not escort the “American Flagged” ships and have the other nations there escort theirs. Oh guess the world wants us to be the high seas policemen. I think the French might have one vessel there.

Of course, the flight attendant was wrong, and of course, the bathrooms should be open to everyone who is on the airplane. But, ridiculous rules and behavior, by really really stupid people, will continue to happen…i.e. “gun and drug free zones”, hum? The flight attendant should be fired on the spot, and an apology issued to this customer, and the traveling public as a whole.

I disagree Joe cowan, you don’t need to have 4 doors on a car to have “suicide doors”. You can have suicide doors on a 2 door model, as long as the doors are hinged toward the back of the vehicle instead of the front. This allows the door to be held open by the forward progression of said vehicle and allow a passenger an unobstucted exit from said vehicle hereunto resulting in the grave injury and/or death of the aformentioned passenger(s).

I won’t be around to watch the wonderful Carl Rove, but if he starts his rant about Biden not being truthful, I hope you’re “fair and balanced” and ask Rove about all of the lies he told throughout his club membership.. especially the one that almost had him sent up the creek…

Does anyone really care what Biden has said? He has made a comment, about a conversation he had with the President, that he is aware cannot be substantiated, and Biden is not known for his “truthfulness”, so your observation is beneath you, of course. Biden’s behavior is not that of a gentleman and is unworthy of his office, wouldn’t you agree? Gossip is bad, whether by the Vice President, or the “common man”, and I am again, disappointed in this man, who continues to “open mouth, insert foot”, regularly, becoming a “clown” to the world. hum?

Your story about the Ohio man on the Delta flight sure struck a nerve. I’m a frequent business flyer and this type of “ignorant arrogance” from flight attendants is why I have stopped flying the major airlines around the U.S. My choice is Southwest, which practices the three C’s – Common Sense, Critical Thinking and Caring.

For flying overseas, I highly recommend flying the foreign airlines if you can. I once flew to Korean on an asian owned carrier and it was the best flying experience I’ve ever had as a passenger. The attendants never sat down, always walking around passing out drinks and keeping the cabin clean.

I am a legal resident, now eligible to get US Citizenship. It has cost me thousands of dollars to be here LEGALLY with my wife, I work hard, pay my taxes but cannot vote (taxation without representaion) but with my hours cut at work I cannot afford the $600 fee. So why should they give it away free to illegals????

Classic reverse sexism. If this was a woman with a “monthly issue,” they would have moved hell and high water to get her to the bathroom – first class or otherwise. Am I wrong?

If Maersk pays the ransom that doesn’t necessarily mean they can give free and clear passage does it? That would fall under Maritime/International law wouldn’t it?

I’ve seen Southwest flight attendants move their drink carts as far down the isle as necessary so a passenger could get to the restroom, and they do it with a smile! We’ve also had excellent service on Frontier. Both have treated us like guests. We will not fly Delta again if there is another choice to our destination.

Hi, everybody! Jefferson’s “separation of church and state” comment is often misunderstood. He was writing to the Danbury Baptists, and the point of the letter was that they should be FREE to have a certain event, as I recall, that was a church public local event without interference by the state! It was affirming that the state, in other words, shouldn’t be bothering them in practice of their local religious activities, as I recall. This was taken out of context and twisted by activist judges in the 40’s, I think it was, to claim he was against religion being allowed to be practiced in the public realm in any way.

In actual fact, it was in support of the government butting out, not the other way around. Nowhere in the Constitution and Bill of rights does it say ANYTHING about “separation of church and state.” My details are fuzzy for this this morhing; haven’t had my first cuppo’joe, but you can find it online and read about it if you are so inclined; I did, awhile back. They don’t teach you the REAL history in school or any history anymore, I don’t think.

So horribly sad this morning about that precious little girl- things like that make us all sick, I’m sure. Alysyn, I feel sorry for you having to report things like that; I’m sure it must be hard sometimes.

This pirate saga: if these Somali pirates knew that when the US forces showed up, you either release the people and property, or we are coming in and nobody (of the pirate group) is going to successfully walk away. While there most likely might be a loss of life, if these pirates knew the risk/reward price is too high with minimal chances of success they would quickly move onto other forms of crime.

President Obama’s plan for immigration reform: My wife (a Canadian citizen) spent over 20K in lawyer fees and over 8 years to legally be able to get US citizenship.

I would be the first to say our immigration process and many of the employees at the immigration offices are a travesty to the image of America e.g. my wife would have to spend hours in line without being able to leave the line to go to the bathroom all while teletubbies played on the TV only to literally get barked at by civil servants. I’m all for fixing our immigration system…but Obama is just looking to yet again stack the deck with millions of additional votes.

That may be true but everyone knows that Lambo historically names its cars after bulls or something associated with bull fighting. The Lambo emblem even has a bull. The establishment clause was to keep Congress out of the business of concerning itself at all with the subject of religion, because there were established churches, or other entanglements between church and state, in about 8 of the colonies and the Framers intended those relationships to continue, not cease. From my readings of Jefferson, which is by no means small, he believed that everyone had the right to believe or not believe and it was of no concern of the Government.

Anne, it was added during Eisenhower’s term, but the impetus for adding “under God” to the pledge came from the Knights of Columbus, I think. It was encouraged by church people and was bipartisan. There was very little to no controversy at the time that it was a good idea. Back then it was normal to have Bible verses and prayer every morning in public school, Christmas pageants, etc. We had Santa Claus, Easter egg hunts at school, everything. It was great! I remember singing all the Christmas carols in a little choir during the school Christmas pageant. I don’t think I ever got to be Mary or the Angel Gabriel but that was a hard part because you had to hold your hand up a long time! LOL

I’d like to win the date with Bubba so I could stand him up.

That car chase in California is better advertisement than Scion could ever purchase. The little car zipped along over 100 mph, did sneering donuts in front of the chippies, and then zipped away and around. It took dozens of cops to overcome it, and then 4 from all sides to finally trap it.

I just watched your segment about the car being dropped on a home, which you all made light of. I grew up in Kansas, and can tell you exactly why this demonstration was so important and impressive.

Greensburg, Kansas was levelled by a major tornado recently, and the home they tested is storm and tornado resistant. The sides are rounded which helps it withstand the extreme winds and the (apparently) concrete building material makes it resist impact by large objects (yes, cars fly through the air in tornados!).

These folks are trying to help people protect their lives and property in an innovative way. Please don’t make fun of them!

The house is constructed of some kind of concrete and is supposed to withstand an F5 tornado like the one that destroyed Greensburg a couple of years ago. A little background on the why of the story might have been appropriate.

Just saw the film of the car dropping on top of a house in Greensburg Kansas. Seemed like you were making light of the fact–like it was a hick thing to do because we live in Kansas.. About 2 years ago a HUGE tornado wiped out the entire town of Greensburg–entirely wiped out an entire town!
The town is re-building and is re-building green and smart. The house the car was dropped on was to show the residents of Greensburg that it was safe, sound and an alternative to traditional housing that was destroyed in the tornado.

The presidents dog is 6 months old and was returned to the breeder by the original buyer, so the dog is in a sense a dog that was put out of its home and in need of another , same as a shelter dog. Is FOX News providing Free Advertising for the Clinton Campaign?

For the first time ever, I am somewhat upset with Fox News. I believe that Fox News is providing “Free Advertising” for Hilary Clinton’s new scheme to collect dollars to pay off her old campaign debt. I watched Fox & Friends for over an hour this morning and never heard any negative comments related to her unprofessional approach (my opinion) to using her husband and American Idol to solicit funds.
I had heard earlier that the DNC and President Obama were going to help with replacing overspent campaign costs. Now, it’s basically selling her husband and bribing the public with American Idol tickets.
This scheme may set the path for a totally new 2012 contribution campagn. Will we soon be seeing “Spend a day with President Obama”, “An overnight at the White House”, or maybe even a day of shopping with Mrs. Obama.
I’m not sure that Fox News should be involved. In my opinion you are giving away over a million dollars in free press to promote Hilary’s latest scheme.

Please stick to Fair and Balanced. Hopefully this one snuck by you.

Regarding the “sexting”, ironically I think Vermont has gotten it right because no child should be labeled and branded as a registered sex offender for this particular offense. The real “right” solution is that cases of “child pornography” need to be treated case by case, filtering out the “real” offenders from semi innocent teens making innocent mistakes. Since this doesn’t seem to be possible, Vermont’s way protects the kids but jeopardizes cases involving real sexual preditors, while the other 49 states go too far in the other direction. I’d rather see the kids protected until we can come up with something reasonable.

I live in a city that has a GE light bulb factory, that is, if it has not laid off everyone, it soon will be doing so. Why are we making everyone buy light bulbs made in China, that contain mercury by the way, while our people are losing their jobs here in America?
Why isn’t GE making the light bulbs here? When are the companies here in America going to realize that they are weakening us by sending our jobs overseas?
