Global shipments of personal computers fell 7.1 percent in the first three months of the year, but the decline was smaller than expected and research group IDC on Wednesday said the industry could turn around by the end of the year.

A second research group, Gartner Inc., calculated first-quarter PC shipments fell 6.5 percent from the same period in 2008. The two groups use different methods to track PC shipments.

U.S. Navy snipers opened fire and killed three pirates holding an American captain at gunpoint in a lifeboat, delivering the skipper unharmed and ending a five-day high-seas hostage drama on Easter Sunday.

The pirates were pointing AK-47s at Capt. Richard Phillips and he was in “imminent danger” of being killed when the commander of the nearby USS Bainbridge made the split-second decision to order his men to shoot, Vice Adm. Bill Gortney said.

Happy Easter Morning Alyisn – Like you I too have Cold Chills when Tax time comes around. I feel this is so complicated for a reason, the IRS makes Billions from the US tax payer NOT filling out tax forms correctly and missing possible deductions. The US needs to immediately propose a 10% Flat tax for everyone reguardless of income. Of course that would put alot of people out of work and that is why they don’t do it. With all the other taxes ObamaNomics will impose on all Americans we could be paying over 50% of our income in some sort of tax in the very near future.

Residents of small towns in Oklahoma and Texas found themselves homeless Friday, in some cases returning to find whole communities had been charred by the deadly, wind-driven wildfires that raged the day before.

Three people died Thursday and well over 100 homes were lost in the fires — at least one of them suspected arson — in western and central Oklahoma and in Texas. The blazes eased Friday as winds of up to 70 mph diminished.

Gini: I don’t know why you are confused by my comment. Biden is such a blowhard that I can well imagine that he would say such a thing to Bush, and Rove is such a domineering megalomaniac that he wants people to believe that if he wasn’t there to hear it, nothing could/did/would happen or be said. I will say that, on reflection, I will modify my comment to the point that if Bush himself says that no such conversation occurred, I will believe that [even though I do believe he was a puppet of certain undefined people in many things].

chas, I think Bush very much the puppet, but of whom it is not entirely clear. He does not have the intellectual horsepower to carry off anything [indeed, every enterprise he got money from his daddy to get involved with he flubbed]. The does not mean I hold any affections for, or believe the word of, Biden. Indeed, I thought his selection by Obama to be vice president was going to guarantee the success of the Palin/McCain ticket, but I was sadly and sorely wrong there.

But what happened to my comment to respectforseniors? I even saw it get published and now it’s gone??/!
