Alisyn is one of the most gracious and thoughtful persons in the News Industry. The interview with ACORN was her first exposure to their spokesperson. ACORN if you watch the other Networks trained to take advantage of any Media personality who conducts their interviews in a fair and balanced manner. Many of Obama’s Spokesperson’s use the same procedure and tricks. Short of cutting his mike Alisyn could not have made him stop talking, being contentious or rude. I have watched Fox and Friends since the first day it came on the air and I have never seen the show cut a person’s mike off during all those years. .

I know that many of us who watch ACORN, the Obama pundits and his other representatives who continuously refuse to answer the questions on Fox News get frustrated and upset. However, we should never take it out on Alisyn. I was watching Alisyn when she worked for the Boston station and I know her to be one of the finest journalists at Fox News. She has a long history of conducting tough incisive interviews and covering stories from Major Airline Crashes, Crime figures for America’s most wanted and the breaking story of George Bush’s Drunk Driving Charge in the Gore, Bush election (October surprise).

I do not know Alisyn personally (I wish I did) but I have followed her career for years and I am well aware how hard she worked to host Fox and Friends or sit that Middle Seat. She cares about the people who watch the show and I suspect Alisyn asks Management for this blog so she could have contact with those of us who watch Fox and Friends. We are allowed to say what we want, good of bad about her, the show and ourselves without criticism or censure. So let us give Alisyn a break. I can assure you the next time that ACORN nutcase is on the show…Alisyn will rip him a new one. Right Alisyn

Do the facts matter? Does anyone care about the truth. The media has selected Barack Obama to be our president, and that’s all we need to know. No matter what he does, says, or did in the past, it will be covered up by the media. They might allow one tiny mention, but quickly gloss over it. Anyone who criticizes or points out the truth will be labeled a racist.

We’re not allowed to mention Obama’s middle name. We’re not allowed to mention Rev. Wright. Ayers was just a “neighbor”. Obama didn’t know what Wright was saying for 20 years. He didn’t know what Ayers did in the past and what he said in 2001. We can’t mention Obama’s poor judgment in choosing mentors, pastors and business associates. We shouldn’t notice his lack of executive experience or naivety in defense and foreign policy.

Although it has been reported that Obama paid ACORN, which has endorsed him for president, $800,000 to register new voters, Obama downplays his ties to ACORN, and his campaign denies coordinating with ACORN to register voters. The same ACORN that is being investigated for voter fraud in several states across the country.

Have you noticed Obama’s supporters follow him in a cultlike trance, with no clue about him, his accomplishments or his background. I have heard many people being interviewed who seem to barely have a third grade education, no idea who are the leaders of our country, but quite certain they are voting for Obama. When asked why, the answer is always “we need a change”. It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of change. Good or bad.

Only a racist wouldn’t vote for Obama. He is the Messiah, the Savior, the Chosen One.

For some unknown and irrational reason, Obama seems to be benefiting from the economic crisis. In 2006 McCain warned about the trouble coming with Fannie and Freddie. See the article copied below and McCain letter published by Human Events on 10/10/08. It shows that McCain knew there was trouble with Fannie and Freddie and tried to take action to protect the American taxpayer. What did the Democrats do? Deny there was a problem.

Here’s a question for Cody. I think I heard their was some bail out money for the credit card people. Since the govenment is back in the bank business, can we finally get the rates back where they are based on prime and not for how they are now. I think they said they need the rates for their bad debt. Now that everyone has contributed $2400.00 to $27000 bucks apiece and have lost probably 30% in our 401 K’s I dont think that arguement will hold water any more.

I would also like to see credit card interest back as a deductible on our tax forms now. I try to maintain a 0 ballance but sometimes you have to go to the well, especially in these hard times.

Al Franken, Democratic candidate for US Senator from Minnesota, mentioned we should probably take “In God We Trust” off our coins and “Under God” out of the pledge. He laughingly said he didn’t really care.

An untested, inexperienced, junior senator may soon be elected president. A man whose foreign policy appears to be based on peace through weakness, with appeasement replacing strength.

Speaking of taxes, why can’t we do the Fair Tax? It would pay for all the social programs the Dems like, and the economy would boom.

Ask Gov. Ritter (D) how he & the democrat controlled congress in Colorado are trying to squeeze more money out of taxpayers here by ending TABOR (taxpayer’s bill of rights — taxpayers have to vote for new taxes, the gov’t. can’t just pile them on). Also, treasurer for the state (dem) tried to do an end run arount TABOR to increase property taxes — currently being fought in Colorado Supreme Court by the Independence Institute. And Ritter rescinded the executive order of former Gov. Bill Owens (R) that prohibited the state from collecting union dues, so now the taxpayers of Colorado are again footing the bill for administrative work to collect union dues & get them to the unions. Ritter also stuck collective bargaining onto the 30,000+ state employees (firemen in one county now belong to the Teamsters union). Then he tried to make it easier for unions to make businesses into “closed shops” so if the majority votes to join the union, all employees are forced to join. Businesses got mad and got out a “right to work” initiative. Unions got mad and put 4 initiatives on the ballot. These are ones that would wreck Colorado’s economy. Then the unions told Ritter, Denver businesses & chamber of commerce that they’d back off if money was paid. There were secret meetings in August. Then Ritter comes out and tells everyone to “holster their guns”, even though it was him that drew down first.

Please, Fox, be fair & balanced on this. Get Mike Rosen of KOA radio to tell your audience what can happen if democrats control two branches of the government.

Please ask John Fund if anything can be done to keep the absentee ballots in Ohio from being opened until their validity is verified. I understand they will be opened in only a few days and once that is done, there will be no way to check.

Also ask John Fund to call it what it is. A Socialist Revolution. We have to keep pounding it for people to understand what will happen if Obama wins.

Acorn frustrates me completly! How dare they practice democracy while manipulating and corrupting the system for their own benefit. This is everything that our armed forces are fighting against. I want a constitutional amendment to define a process by which we can vote to recall sitting congressional representatives and senators. The people who blocked the reforms of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in committee must be voted out. We are not going to be able to prosecute them for stupidity and / or self-interest, but we should have a way to kick them out for not correcting this mess when they had the chance.

It may also make the rest of them think about the fact that the american public will then have a real power to fire them if they screw up.

Whichever candidate takes up that call will get a lot of support.

it is sad that in places that the US and americans call developing nations, the citizens there will do whatever it takes to participate in their elections. we’ve all seen the pictures of these people standing in long lines, reporting that they walked all the way from the other village, and happily participating in their opportunity for a democratic process.

i boggles me that people in this country need to be, quite literally, taken to the polls to even consider participating in an election. it also seems ridiculous to me that young people have to be convinced to even register to vote at rock concerts. to top this off, when asked to talk about the facts or even identify the people who could affect their lives dramatically, most haven’t got a clue.

i am a big supporter of more americans participating in elections. i also understand why many people choose not to participate, because they’ve seen a steady errosion of true leadership. still, i find it more scary that people are voting this year not because they have thought about the facts and considered how these impact their lives, but because they are simply following the crowd. voting is a right that so many americans fail to take advantge of. people in other countries would give their lives to enjoy what we seem to have forgotten the importance of.

for groups like acorn to manipulate the system for their own political goals is an attack on the sacred right of all americans to fairly participate in the democratic process. people should register and vote, but they should do it of their own accord. if some poor farmer in a developing nation will risk death or any hardship to vote in their election, americans should have little excuse not to get off their —– and be involved. no one should have to facilitate things for any american so that they could vote, it just comes down to wanting to vote and finding a way to make it happen. and for those who choose to vote, they need to come to the process informed about the facts, and not just wanting to go with the crowd.

I checked Berg vs. Obama yesterday, no decision yet, but they say there’s no legal reason to grant Obama & the DNC a protective order or to dismiss. I checked further, sure sounds like he was born in Kenya, but even if he wasn’t, he was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather, thus becoming an Indonesian citizen and losing any U.S. citizenship he may have had. Also, the info on the Hawaiian certificate of live birth (COLB) looking like a forgery is very convincing.

Acorn’s inflated registration of voters is lamentable, but it has been going on for centuries and from both parties. In the past there has been a systemic suppression of votes by the Republican’s, and from what I hear that is continuing this year.

Instead of harping on one organization and one party, why not work on a plan to clean up the whole system? With the technology available today this should not be that big a problem. This would benefit ALL Americans.

I can understand why Obama & the DNC & mainstream media aren’t covering Berg vs. Obama, but I wonder some want to wait until later this month to really spring an “October surprise”. Remember how the Clinton’s hinted about some sort of surprise Obama disqualification.

I want a constitutional amendment to define a process by which we can vote to recall sitting congressional representatives and senators. The people who blocked the reforms of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in committee must be voted out. We are not going to be able to prosecute them for stupidity and / or self-interest, but we should have a way to kick them out for not correcting this mess when they had the chance.

Here’s my answer to that. Once the states elect a congressman/Senator, which is their prerogative, after serving two term as Senator and four terms as Congressman their seat comes up for “Retain or Reject” by all the voters of the USA. It would be on all ballots in all states. For the first 12 years they probably won’t have enough clout to change much or do much damage. Since their votes and bills, for the most part, affect all of us, once they get enough seniority to do damage to the entire population then it should be up to all of us to retain or reject them. If they are rejected then the state that elected them in the first place could elect another candidate and the process would start all over again. Would be sort of like term limits but if it was beneficial to retain them it would be done. I will assure you if Barney Frank, Cris Dodd, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Harry Reid and many more would not be there long enough to get us in the mess we are in now. DO YOU THINK CONGRESS WOULD EVER GO FOR THIS PLAN? …. HAHAHA ! NOT IN A THOUSAND YEARS!!!

I used to wish Colon Powell would run, I knew about his past, we knew he was, he was. Respected by all most every, person in our country.
I never hear anyone say, if Bema felt for the middle class, the poor, why does he spend 6 mil. To further his cause, we do not know what his true cause is. He could as well as all in politics, would, feed the poor, build homes, take care of sick children.
I just don’t get it how people can just not care about these things.

The presidential race is about race, nobody wants to admit that, but we all know that it is about that no matter how anyone looks at it. The funny thing is, is that they say PA is a swing state but I live in PA on the tri-state and Everyone I know in this state and surrounding and they know will not vote for a black guy. I think or know that PA is a McCain state. I think that the Media is playing it as to vote for obama and not McCain.

The DOG segment with CAESAR was GREAT (and scary). I sometimes let my dog wander forward and she is usually naughtier when she does. Caesar explained why that was bad and I made that connection when I see her behavior when she walks by my side.

THE LESSON OF THE DAY:

The lesson I’m walking away with is that extremists and political hacks need to walk with a short leash side by side. They should never be allowed to roam forward at attack. 2) Y’all said that it is false about Obama not saying the pledge, this is incorrect, if you look back early in the campain you will find where during a function that all presidential candidates attended and was on tv, then a story by newsweek covering the same issue of Obama was the only one without his hand over his heart. When later interviewed because of all the hoopla on tv and internet Obama said that he feels that one should not have to pledge allegience to the Flag because it does not prove he is an American and that the Flag is nothing but a materialistic symbal and he will not say the pledge nor wear the American Flag. This is why you never see an American Flag pin on him except when he is talking with veterans groups. >>NOTE: the American Flag was made to represent the blood shed to protect our freedoms.
Now my opinion on the issues; Does the above mentions carry any signifance yes it does, it shows that he wants to do away with one of the very things that has held America together for 200+ years, on the other issues of Ayers, Wright, Acorn, Fanny Mae, this goes to character of the person. His involvement with this shows what kind of person Obama really is. His tax plan for the rich is going to do nothing but hurt the common consumer, if Obama raises those taxes as he says which I doubt he will, then those that will be taxed will just raise the prices of their products and pass it on to us the consumer thus hurting America even more. This is the reason that the NYSE is so affraid of Obama. The next and the biggest problem is Obama has sworn to close or reduce funding for the Veterans Administration thus leaving many of our nations veterans without health care and treatment for their war/service time injuries.

SHE WAS AT A CLINIC FOR THE “POOR”….I WAS HER PUBLIC ASSISTANCE…I DIDN’T HAVE IT, BUT I HAD TO PAY IT. I WAS ANGRY FOR 2 REASONS….ONE I WAS HAVING TO PAY…THE OPTION FOR PAYMENT WAS GIVEN…SHE WOULD HAVE PAID SOMETHING EVERY PAYDAY….BUT THAT AS SHE SAT THERE TALKING TO OTHERS THEY ALL HAD THE MEDICAL CARDS….DON’T WORK…LOOKED CAPABLE TO HER TO WORK….AND WAS TRYING TO GET HER TO BUY THEIR LINK CARD..SO THAT THEY COULD HAVE CASH…WHATS UP WITH THIS COUNTRY, THAT WE SUPPORT GIVING ASSISTANCE TO THOSE THAT ARE CAPABLE TO WORK….WHAT WAS MY DAUGHTER REALLY LEARNING? There are many of us middle class american who are angry at Obama’s suggestion that becasue we have worked hard, paid our bills, educated our children, worked to gain the American dream that I parents told us we could achieve if we worked hard, that we are not “patriotic” Americans because our family incomes combined are more than $250,000 and we don’t want to pay more taxes. We need you (and John McCain) to talk more about this. I am from NH and many of us are so angry that we are not being heard. I work for a car dealership and heavy truck dealership. If you don’t think my boss isn’t worried about Obama being President and taking all of our jobs, you are crazy. He fears for all of us. We have health insurance, (thank God) but we pay a small portion of it through payroll. It isn’t bad, but I do not want Obama dictating to my employer.

Business has slowed but we all are surviving so far. Thanks to our great boss. We have cut back on a few things but we are ok at this point. I can tell you one thing, all of the employees are really smart and they know Obama is NOT the answer. We are a mixture of Dems and Reps. but everyone is for McCain. Because we all know what would happen if Obama becomes President, most of us will lose our jobs, if not all. The business that has been around for over 40 years will probably not be there if Obama is President.

Pat…that is very interesting isn’t it. I would say that the HMO’s destroyed the medical field quite thoroughly, wouldn’t you? Years past, the family doctor wouldn’t have refused “their” patient, for any reason…especially involving money. The “family doctor” has gone by the wayside, however, and these events continue to occur. Same thing happened to us…the hospital demanded the !00 dollar up front money (my son was trying to admit his wife..referred by their doc), and we paid it…used our debit card. We found out later, they were not “allowed” to demand the money, as a reason for admission…but could “request” it strongly, thereby using the intimidation factor at a moment when one is very very upset due to the circumstances which go along with the trip to the hospital to begin with. Again, it is the responsibility of the citizen to know exactly where their rights begin and end…obviously we were want know, and they got the money on demand. On the other hand, I called my dentist when my daughter had a problem, and her dentist wanted to “pull” the tooth! She is uninsured, but I certainly didn’t think the dentist should be recommending this as a resolution. Apparently, her “insurance, provided by the system” wouldn’t pay for the procedure to save the tooth, but would be just happy to pay to have the tooth pulled! MY dentist took my daughter, fixed the tooth (he was also horrified that it would be pulled), and the $1,ooo chk I wrote to him, has never been cashed! There are really really really, good guys out there, even in this tangled mess which has become our “medical” community, which will be made so much worse, if we socialize our medicine!

We don’t need a tax to try to ease global poverty. We send tons of food and other supplies (donated) around the world. What is the World going to do when we are taxed to death and have nothing left to give? Who will help them whem distaster strikes? Tearing us down to build others up is not the answer.

I like Cody, but talk about “out-of touch.” I am retired and at the beginning of the year had $41,000 in a 403B. As a retired teacher, I am far from rich, but I did invest and have some other savings that I worked very hard for while buying a house and putting our children through college. My account lost slightly over 20% so far this year. If I withdraw anything is costs 20% in taxes — taken out before I get the money. By Cody’s standards, I guess I’m rich — who knew?

Everytime I hear “Obama’s Tax plan provides 95% of Americans with a tax cut” I want to scream. From Obama’s web site–

“Cut taxes for 95 percent of workers and their families with a tax cut of $500 for workers or $1,000 for working couples. ” $500????? Big Deal!!!

McCain’s plan–
Not only will you get double the exemption for EVERY dependant (if you’re a family of 4, your tax exemption will go from $14,000 up to $28,000—that means your taxable income will be $28,000 less!!!) AND, you’ll likely also get a net tax CREDIT from his Health Care plan.

Middle Class America–WAKE UP!

I cannot believe how many people say they haven’t heard of Ayers. As my husband’s grandmother said once. “If Kruschev was running on the Democrat ticket she would vote for him.” Wake up people after you vote it is too late. I for one am afraid of Obama and who his friends are. We are going to be in deep do do if we have Polski, Reed, Dobb, Cramer, Franks and Obama running our country. Key words “OUR COUNTRY”

You and Cody (and McCain) are missing a couple of points I consider to be dispositive regarding the mandatory IRA/401(k) distributions at 70 1/2:
1. When you take it out, you pay ordinary income tax on the amount of the distribution. Why would you want to remove it when the taxable amount is inflated? You will pay less tax on it while it is down.
2. Just because you liquidated it, you don’t have to spend it! Just reinvest the proceeds in the same investments at the same low liquidation prices. What’s the difference? So, they come back the same way outside the IRA as they would have inside.

It may be true that some admin costs will be paid, but those pale in comparison to paying taxes on the increased values.
Also, Cody should know that deferring tax until retirement is not the best way to fund retirement, tax-wise. The government counts on the inflated amounts keeping you in the same high tax bracket, or even a higher one then.
My advice to those eligible for 401(k) is to fund it only to the extent the employer matches your contributions. After that point, it doesn’t pay at the other end, tax-wise.

I think you should have more knowledgeable people commenting on these things. And, McCain should have better people advising him. That goes for Obama, too!

In regard to the need for voter ID, an ID costs money and is therefore the equivalent of a poll tax. Poll taxes used to be used to keep the poorest people from voting, just as the requirement for an ID keeps the very poorest people from voting. I’m not saying it’s a large percentage of the population that can’t afford an ID, but it could be significant in swing states. Ideally, states would issue free photo ID cards to people who can’t afford them, but this has not happened yet. I agree it would be good if every eligible voter had a photo ID and had to show it when they went to vote, but this is not the case.

How bout a social security card? Everybody has one? It doesn’t cost anything, and can be verified.

We started giving foreign aid to countries that were destroyed in WWII, like Germany, because if the people there fell into dire poverty, they could start another war and attack the U.S. That is similar to what we are doing today. We give the most aid to Iraq, Afghanistan, and other Muslim countries, because their stability is good for our security.

nadine….do you live in America or elsewhere? If you live in America and cannot afford the ID, there are ways to get it free just for those reasons. Call a stste office and explain your situation and they will make adjustments for you and often, even get you a ride there and back.

Hello Alisyn, My husband and I live in Flint, MI where he works as a Service Manager at a large dealership. Since the beginning of this year we have had to tap into our 401K to be able to make our house payments. Then the economy tanked, big time. Both of us are in our early 50s so we have to pay the 10% early withdrawl fee, on top of the tax we will pay on the income. I was watching your show this morning and you had a young man on talking about 401Ks, sorry I do not remember his name. I thought I heard something about what both parties candidates would propose for someone in my position. Can you clarify? We are afraid that if this takes to long to recover from our 401K will be gone. Thank you for your help.

Lora H, you’re the one who suggested our taxes shouldn’t go towards foreign aid for the purposes of poverty relief. I was just pointing out that helping poor countries is good for the U.S. as well. It’s not an ulterior motive, just mutually beneficial. Yes, there are non-governmental organizations that do foreign aid work for the sole purpose of poverty relief, but I think all countries benefit when there is less poverty in the world. For example, there would be less illegal immigration into the U.S. if poverty in Mexico were reduced.

In my opinion this is what is important to me. First of all I will state I’m an Ind. voter, I have done my homework and made my decision of who to vote for. I been accused of being bias and so be it but I know that deep in my heart I’m not and never have been swayed by anyone. I try to keep an open mind. As a Canadian observer of American politics, I am of the opinion that the Fox channel and its
” journalists” seem to be unabashed and diehard supporters of the Republican party. I observe this from viewing the obvious slant to your reporting as it is with CNBC and the Democratic party. Is this a mandate from your management or your own personal doctrine?
I thought journalists are expected to be responsible and objective in their analysis, and are supposed to refrain from personal biases or prejudices. However, one cannot help but feel that this basic journalistic standard is a myth.

As far as immigration goes, I like to joke that the US should annex Mexico, since so many of them are coming here anyway. That way they could benefit from the US economy and stay in their homes. I am disturbed by the lack of concern over Obama’s alliances. These radical alliances are dangerous to this country. Yes, the economy is important, but I am hanging in there and believing that it will get better. People are working on it, so everybody hang in there! Some interesting posts this morning. I still cannot believe that the Dems would support the election being stolen by ACORN, but I guess they think this is the only way they can win. If BHO wins the middle class is doomed. Social programs like welfare will receive a bigger boost and we will be picking up the tab. I know a couple who has 3 children and they will not get married because they would lose their welfare. I am sure there some that you know who are like this. The middle class pays for this and soon will be paying more. Heck welfare recipients drive better cars than I do. Mine is 9 years old, but it was paid for by me and not the taxpayers.
If BHO wins we will all lose the freedoms we cherish, like freedom of speech. Have you noticed it is ok for BHO supporters have freedom of speech, even in classrooms, but let a McCain supporter say something and it gets squashed real fast.
Wake up America, think about what you are voting for before you vote. BHO and his cronies scare me. If he wins we are headed for socialism. Mark my words. Do yourself a favor and watch Brit Hume on his show ‘Special Report’. Also Neil Cavuto will give you the straight poop on the financial world….and quickly admit if hes not sure about an issue, and then does his best to bring out both sides of the issue at hand. Go into it with an open mind and I’ll bet you end up quite pleased how they report. Thats just my opinion, so you will need to reach your own, of course, but I’d bet you will feel a lot more informed after listening to them for a bit.

How bout a social security card? Everybody has one? It doesn’t cost anything, and can be verified.

Not so sure that’s a good idea Ms. Lora. That guy they picked up for murder in CA a few month’s back had a social security number shared with some 40 other people.

That have any control over that system either. Which is another reason I get nervous when anyone uses health care and Government in the same breath.

Henry D, I was just trying to offer a different perspective. That’s why I pay attention to both liberal and conservative sources of media.

We know voter fraud is a problem. I was trying to offer a concrete solution: States should make sure every voter has a photo ID, and then they can require one for voting without it being the equivalent of a poll tax. Voter fraud is not just a problem in this election; it has been a problem in the past and will plague future elections if nobody bothers to come up with a solution. I believe this is pertinent to the issue, and I’d rather hear other people’s proposed solutions than hear the same complaints over and over.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about in reference to liberals rioting and destroying property. I have never rioted nor vandalized anything. I have never tried to fix an election. I have never voted fraudulently. I have never tried to destroy anyone’s reputation.

I do take issue, however, with Sarah Palin’s husband being the member of a secessionist party for seven years. Whatever you think of Obama’s ties to anti-American Ayers, it is clear that Ayers is not his advisor and will not be part of an Obama administration. Sarah Palin, however, married an anti-American secessionist and allows him to advise her on political issues and do government business. I don’t want any anti-American secessionists advising our President or Vice President. That is my personal opinion, not an attempt to destroy anyone’s reputation. Perhaps you feel differently and think our leaders should be advised by secessionists.

So, that would mean, if my ID (SS#) were being “used” by someone else, I could find myself unable to vote at my precinct, where I have been voting for the last 40 or so yrs, and know every one of the officials. On that point I can’t be certain. But that 40 people get by using it just shows that the Government, and not just this one, gets too big the first thing to go is control.

One more thing, not being a fan of National ID, the Federal is restricted as to what it can do with this fraud, except in the case of ACORN because it crosses State lines, but individual States can certainly require ID provided they are willing to issue for free. The Constitution is pretty clear that the manner of elections is left to the many states.

Nadine…is it clear? Hummm…not so clear at all, I think. i.e. Ayers ties to the jr senator fr Illinois. The hubby of Sarah? Regarding Palin and the Alaska Indepence Party. I watched the video on their website. The Governor says she welcomes the COMPETITION, meaning she is not a member of the party. I can’t find a reference to Todd on their site.

With regard to your financial “expert” and his remarks about IRA’s ….. He is an insensitive boob !!! Tell all of the people living on their Social Security, a bit of interest income (if they are lucky), plus a bit of a withdrawal from their small IRA (again, if they were lucky enough to have one) how RICH they are.

I AM LUCKY as I took my RMD for this year back in June before the financial disaster starting unraveling but so many of the older folks wait until the very end of the year to take theirs…..They are going to be hurt….BAD.
The fact the Wendell K ignores in his comments is that you have to take the RMD based on the value of your IRA as of last 12/31/07 not today’s deflated value. So you will be paying the highest tax possible with the most adverse effect on your future tax-deferred earning power.
I feel that the RMD (required minimum distribution) should be suspended IMMEDIATELY until the market started showing a recovery.

I very much appreciated the segment today about how our tax code is unfairly weighted toward the big corporate businesses–ie the sky boxes at sports events. The way I see it is if we all paid our fair share of taxes we’d be in the black. A flat tax is the way to go–you make a dollar, you pay 10 cents, you make a million you pay $100,000. No deductions. It doesn’t matter where that $ comes from–dividends, paycheck, capital gain. It just makes sense. It would be simple and fair.

And the voter fraud controversy?? It’s ridiculous that some states don’t require id to vote. Come on folks, let’s use some common sense here. Make id’s free from the division of motor vehicles–if you can’t prove who you are then you don’t vote. I’m outraged about ACORN and it’s illegal voter registration scam.

And the segment with the dog whisper was worthless–why would we want to see a dog fight? And you didn’t even show how he got the dogs to walk together??? What was that all about.

However, you are out of your element interviewing difficult individuals on serious topics such as voter fraud with the ACORN rep Scot Levenson. Please leave those interviews to someone who can handle the tougher guests such as Brit Hume, Bill O’Reilly, or Megyn Kelly .

There’s got to be some federal involvment in voting for federal offices, if only to pass laws to make it uniformly legal. Maybe it should be a totally separate election. It’s shocking that CA, with all those electoral votes, operates basically on an honor system. Congressman Bilbray should be lauded for blowing the whistle on how government on the left coast is stealing elections. We can’t look to government for a solution, they’re part of the problem. If they wanted to fix it, they would. We should look to the private sector — banks keep track of whose money they have, money can be easily accessed by the owner, FedX delivers stuff worldwide to the correct parties, disposible hotel room keys are standard in Europe, heck, you can put any image you want on a credit card — the private sector can solve this.

I think the whole Democrat party are coached on hogging the show – they all do it – they never give the other person a chance. I know it is not nice to kill the mike, but think it will have to come to that to get a fair and balanced show – all they give you is interruptions with all their cover up of lies and rudeness.

Ali is too nice to be rude to them, I always hit the mute button – so I don’t hear either side. Maybe all the hosts should take some lessons from Bill and Niel – Bill tells them to “zip it” and Bill tells them “thanks for saving time by talking over each other.”

I have been a fan of Fox ane Friends. Thank you and your associates for all your hard work.

I got very angry watching your interview with the guy from Acorn and John Fund. I thought he (Acorn guy) was extremely rude, and there is no excuse for rudeness. His “Tsk – tsk” when John was speaking was deplorable.

I was dissapointed you did not put a stop to his takling over John and refusing to allow him to finish his thoughts.

However, this seems to be a trend. I was watching Bret Bairs this morning and I thought the same thing was happening with the Democratic strategist he was interviewing. Do they (the democrats) get marching orders to just not let any one else speak? And to speak over any rebuttals? And why is this not pointed out?

The topic this morning was the anger shown at one of John McCains rallys, how this is so “devicive”.

I am certainly angry. I am angry because:

1. The matter of Obama’s past associations are of immense importance in this campaign. They give insight into his character and to how he thinks.

2. The mainstream press and media did NOT do their job vetting Obama. How can they do all this investigating into Sarah Palin’s involvement in the fireing of a state trooper and NOT do an in depth and through investigation of an association with someone who set off bombs in this country and is quoted as saying “go home and kill your parents?” I don’t care how long ago it hapened. Ayres is also known to have said that, concerning the bomings, “I did not do enough” and “I wish I coud have done more.” It is unresponsible of the press not to have investigated that association throughly.

3. This candidate (Obama) is being rammed down our throats by the mainstream media. When these associations are brought up or any questions are raised about Obamas character, it is portrayed as either racist or “divisive”.

Can you imagine the uproar in the mainstream press and the media if it were uncovered that there was an association between Mc Cain and someone in the John Birch Society? No matter how long ago it occured.

The first time the ACORN spokesman started his condescending attitude, he should have had his mic turned off. In addition he should never be allowed back on the show…EVER

It’s a very contentious race (more so than usual) and it’s getting worse. The jounalists will have to come up w/a better way to conduct their interviews, if you ask me.

To tell you the truth, i’m not all that thrilled with either candidate, because i would rather have Hillary and Newt running for the presidency against each other. I think they’re more issue oriented and their campaigns would have been more civil than what we have now. And we’d have a clearer view as to what they want to do w/the economy and foriegn affairs, etc.

But we have what we have and it’s clear to me that it’s going to get really ugly here in the next few weeks or so..The new one is that Sarah makes hidden racial remarks meant to incite only God knows what. I would like to know about the 4 years Obama spent at Colombia and what his thesis contained. Why can’t we have found that out by now? Like everything else about this man about to become President, its a secret and he won’t release it. There are so, so many unanswered issues about Obama – and if it wasn’t for FNC, and I must add – Lou Dobbs (does address a few) , the average voter , who watches the brilliant mainstream media (oxymoron) , would not know. Is there no one on ABC, NBC, CBS that can give a FAIR view? What a shame.

The question was asked on Fox as to why John McCain tends to be losing support among women. I think I know the answer. For me, I want a strong leader and women in general admire a strong man. The fact that McCain isn’t going after Obama frustrates me and it makes him appear weak. I was not crazy about McCain being the republican nominee, but now he must win. The alternative is too dangerous. I have written to the McCain website suggesting that they show McCain in his flight suit with the caption, Strong for America then, Strong for America NOW!

I agree with your writing regarding the interview with ACORN, however, it was too important of an interview to have a nice reporter do it, we needed someone stronger!!!! We did not get our point across!

I want to know what is the breakeven point for small business under Barack’s tax plan—if my business makes 251,000 I am going to be taxed at a much higher rate, so I may as well give away merchandize unless I am going to reach the high breakeven point. A flat tax gives me the incentive to make more as I will keep more, therefore I will hire more people.

OBama is tilling evey one that we will get a tax return are refund..
Now that,s great but I am one of them that do not pay tax,s any more because I got hurt about 6 years ago. so now I live off my Disab payment from ss and gov retriemant ( my spelling is weak do to my injury.)
But when I hear what he is going to do I feel great until I stop and think.
In order to get the 1000$ I must vote for him and to me that is saying I will gave you this money when I am president so vote for me.

Obama’s tax refund is going to be an annual affair and to call it a refund is stretching it. Seeing 60% of American’s don’t pay taxes he is going to give a *welfare* check to them. My family and I watched the debate this evening. We felt that Sen. McCain had won this debate and that Sen. Obama was on the defensive the entire evening. We were very impressed with McCain. Sadly after the debate, Brit Hume along with the panel basically gave the win to Sen. Obama. We were surprised. I sincerely feel that Fox News has lossed its fair and balanced position. Brit Hume Reflective As He Approaches His Fox News Exit

He’s been covering presidential campaigns since Ford-Carter ‘76. And as he gears up to anchor tonight’s final presidential debate — anchoring his final debate — FNC’s Washington managing editor Brit Hume is telling reporters why he’s walking away. In a word: enthusiasm.

“This stuff exhausts me as much as it excites me,” Hume told a small group of reporters gathered after a luncheon put on for advertisers at New York’s 21 Club. “I think the worst thing you can do is hang on after you’ve lost your fastball and you’re kind of not good anymore,” he said.

So sometime after the election, he’s not sure when, he’ll walk away from his daily broadcast and the network he helped create. He’s expected to continue on as a contributor. Hume sees his departure as a way for other Fox News talent to move up. “There’s a need for movement at the top. If you have that then jobs open up, people grow and get better,” he says, adding, “If you start to lose that you end up with an operation at which everything is fine until the day that all the people retire and all the good people under them have left because they had to wait too long.”

Earlier during the luncheon, after an introduction from Fox News founder Roger Ailes [whom he called "the best boss I have ever had, and the best job I have ever had"] Hume discussed McCain-Obama: “You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that the economy does not favor the republican candidate;” Politics in general: “My theory is that campaigns don’t matter much.” And he broke some news about what might be in store in FNC’s Washington Bureau announcing the network may station a correspondent at the Treasury Department. “None of the network news divisions have anyone assigned to Treasury,” he said.

So, what will Hume do with this free time. He’s got some ideas…

I am about to turn off my TV. Why can’t you hit a sneeze button and cut off anyone who interupts the other side and shouts them down. It would be nice to be able to hear what both sides are saying. This particular tactic seems to be the main defence mechanism used by one particular side,but the remedy should be used for any participant in your “fair and balanced reporting”.

How can Acorn defend the practice of registering and voting the same day? Proof needs to be shown and accountability become a large part of the registration process.

Everyone (the Repbulicans) is overlooking the perfect answer to the question, Is Joe Biden qualified to be one heartbeat from the Presidency. The answer is NO. Joe Biden has run for the Presidency two times and received virtually no votes while trying to secure the Democratic nominee position. He certainly does not deserve to be in the position of going through the back door, if something were to happen to Obama. The Democrats have already spoken/voted on two separate occasions. I will be voting at my precinct on election day. I thought about taking advantage of the “early voting”, then thought about, well, actually received my absentee ballot, and was going to use that this year, altho I have never voted absentee before….our ballot is full full full this cycle, and will be a lengthy process getting thru it all for the voters of Ohio, so I thought perhaps it would be “easier” to vote in the relaxed atmosphere of my kitchen, rather than wait in what is promised to be, long lines. I always go to the voting booth prepared, and it does not take me long, as I have studied the ballot, therefore, when I get there, am prepared to vote. That said…I am AFRAID if I do not go personally to my precinct and vote, my vote may be “thrown out”, with all the mess from ACORN, and their questionable tactics. I am stunned that our Sec of State, is apparently not concerned about protecting the citizens of Ohio, from voter fraud. One would think that this would be a no brainier, and not a partisan issue….but an issue for the voters of Ohio to be absolutely assured that our votes on election day, have not been defrauded by anyone…ANYONE, who is not eligible to vote in this great state. I am so disappointed that this is not just a given, in this great state, that does indeed, make presidents! Another reason this registered dem, is voting republican yet one more time.

Since you are following in McCain’s footsteps referring to “Joe, the Plumber” did you happen to notice that Joe the Plumber himself is a fraud! So now it is “Joe the Alleged Plumber” since he is not licensed, and apparently is working for someone who also is not licensed. Not to mention the fact that he is backing away from his original story that he would be buying the business that he is working for, now he saying that there have been talks of him maybe buying the business in a couple of years, he has of learning to do. Well, there have been “talks” that one day I might by Macys, should I be looked upon as a business owner as well. I am not trying to take anything away from this guy but I am just curious what made him get there in the first place and misrepresent himself.
