Question about polls...Why all the attention to polls ( waste of time) of 1000 to 3000 people and zero attention to an ongoing straw poll of generally over 100k? The poll I'm referring to has been running on AOL/netscape home page for several months. I have seen the participation as high as 170k.
This straw poll of real people has consistently shown McCain leading by roughly 2 to 1 over the other guy...name hmmmm can't remember...oh well no matter unless he is elected.
Seriously where's the coverage on this?

I agree with the person who said he/she believed the awful, negative yells from some at McCain/Palin rallys were actually OBAMA supporters who just wanted to get those vicious chants out there. I also believe the old lady made the comment to John McCain at a rally about "Obama being an Arab" was also planted by the Democrats. I think the lady had rehearsed her line many times but when it came time to deliver it, she flubbed it. She meant to say MUSLIM instead of Arab. McCain was forced into defending Obama -- but he simply should have said, "I think you are mistaken, Ma'am, I think Obama originates from Africa" -- and left it at that.

It is my understanding that the :First Failed $800 Billion Bill" had a $40 Million earmark for ACORN.

Why isn't anyone asking the question who was responsible for entering that earmark into the bill?

Obama and the Democrats say they have no affiliation with ACORN. Do you think a Republican or McCain submitted that earmark? I doubt it. Then who?????

I would like to know why nobody is asking about Michele Obamas statement when Obama was nominated as the Democrat runner. "This is the first time I'm proud to be an American?"

McCain said that Obama's tax plan was welfare. This seems to indicate that the tax money would go to the needy. I wonder if instead, with Obama's history of having the most earmarks, he possibly plans to redistribute the wealth to a "Chosen Few"...like Ayres and his liberal organizations and Acorn.

Hi Guys! Hey...I think, in all of this "share the wealth" discussion from Barak Obama, we're missing one EXTREMELY important fact...In America, our money is supposed to be OUR money!!! ...NOT government's money! (One basic fact about socialism is that the governments of socialist countries proceed with the notion that any money the citizens have is what the government LETS them have...only by their "good graces"!) ...Sounds EXACTLY like what Barak thinks too...it "leaked" out during his conversation with "Joe the Plumber". WOW!!!

Barak doesn't get my vote after that!!! What would he do once he's in office if he's elected??? YIKES!!!! SCARY!

Later.

why do republicans refuse to fight back when democrats attack bush on the government growing 40 % in the last 8 years? did we not have the attacks on 9-11? we had to put feds on airplanes and in ports. we created a whole department of government (homeland security). not to mention protecting our borders and many other obvious decisions made by both parties to protect us.

Dan -- as far as I can tell, the people have no power other than to not re-elect the evildoers. The bad guys are being protected by their fellow members of Congress. House & Senate leaders could remove them from committees, but haven't. Congress could (and should) start expulsion proceedings for Frank, Dodd, Schumer at the very least. Email them & demand it!

As for checks & balances, if it wasn't for the House GOP, the dems would have passed the first bailout bill, which included a big fat 20% of $700 billion payoff to ACORN! The dems (along w/ACORN & Obama) are at the bottom of the whole housing mess.

The possibility of the democrats winning (or stealing by voter fraud) the White House and a majority in both houses of Congress is flat out frightening. There'd be no check on whatever spending & redistribution of wealth in the form of taxing they'd want. The RNC should make this clear to voters so they can choose wisely on November 4th. We need more Republicans in both the House & Senate or we risk becoming a "one party" nation. We'd all be losers if that happened.

I haven't had a chance to read the blogs and so this has likely already been brought up, but I want to know what happened to checks and balances. I hear congressmen always threatening to impeach the president, but don't the other two branches of government have some oversight power over congress. It is obvious they can't/won't discipline their own members, unless it an individual that the media has decided to focus on in a sex scandal. I am now truely that angry white male that the media has been describing me as for the past decade, but what I'm angry about is the ruling plotical class that is above the law. Certainly, somebody should be in prison for the fraud that lead to this financial crisis. I will be happy if some CEOs end up in prison, but I will only feel that justice has been served when I hear that congressmen and senators are being investigated, tried and imprisoned for the obvious bribary that perpetuated this crisis. Why aren't any in the media calling for this. It seems so obvious that crimes have occurred, perpetrated by our government officials.
I have now vented and feel slightly better Thank you.
