I am uncomfortable with the media categorizing someone’s church as “extreme”. I do think it is fair to talk about what church she attends and the beliefs. But those beliefs should not be given descriptions that are relative to others’ beliefs.
I am more interested in what church she has been attending for the last six years and why she changed churches.
Has the NY Times or the rest of the media told us about Biden’s church?

Her attending different colleges doesn’t bother me. I don’t care what colleges she attended nor over how long. What she has done as Mayor and Governor is what matters.

I am concerned by the rumor of her allegedly wanting to ban books at the library. This is something that needs to be looked into and given a final answer. If true I am uncomfortable with putting someone in one of the greatest positions of power that was an advocate of censorship.

Palin sounds like a lot of people in this country. She went where she could get scholarships and she made it through. Probably learned a whole lot along the way by being exposed to a variety of people from everyday life.

I grew up in an Assembly of God church and it is about religion at its most basic. They are not a bunch of fanatics handling snakes as the media would have the public believe. If Palin is grounded in that church, she is very grounded.

There is some type of weird bias coming from women about Sarah Palin. Not sure if it is jealousy, or fear…………

The standard Ivey League politician is what we have grown to loath because they are so out of touch with the average American.

I had a lorikeet that talked exceptionally well. A friend of my wife called several days after we had changed the message on our answering machine. She suggested we listen to it.

The message was typically mundane but in the background was what sounded like the voice of a little old lady crying out “Help Meee! Let me out!” over and over during the message.

About the Music! I have 4000 songs on my Ipod, And i feel music is expressed thru the emmotions you are feeling at that particular moment! For instance if you are happy, some GooGoo Dolls, Dave Matthews, If you are sad, perhaps some Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, And if you want to bang your head, a little Guns N Roses, Metallica. Kids are in the car?…Nothing wrong with some Disney Classics, HAHAHA. So this is how i look at it, i love many genres of music. Just wanted to express my thoughts. Watch you every weekend! If you had watched Greta’s bio of Palin last nite …. most of her changing was “financial” … she even competed in the Miss Alaska contest for the scholarships after her Hawaii college days … she was 1st runnerup & got her scholarship. Some of those other college stints may have been between winning the contest locally (Miss Wasilla) before the state contest.

Her religious affiliation(s) should be left alone unless they preach hate against America … if I remember correctly, we do have freedom of religion still. Biden’s has never been discussed or whether he attends every Sunday as she does.

I doubt there is much to the “ban on books” in the library … if there was, I’m sure there would have been more outrage in Alaska at the time and she probably wouldn’t have the 80+% approval rating there.

I was going to sleep in as it is cool and cloudy here, but then I remembered you were on and wanted to get up to see what everyone was talking about this morning.
How many colleges Sarah Palin went to makes absolutely no difference to me. I am a college graduate and taught for many years, so I do think education is important. Having said that, one of the wisest and smartest people I ever knew was my grandfather. He quit school after 4th grade to help support the family.
I’ll bet Sarah Palin never heard a sermon in her church where the minister cursed the United States.

Mike, I looked in the archives of her hometown newspaper, and she never requested that any books be banned. She asked the public librarian how she would react to censorship in reviewing a city policy about the library when she became mayor. The only other place I could find such nonsense was on some leftwing blogs.

All of the “stuff” that the MSM has been digging up on SP is a joke, but it has also reinforced and strengthen my initial impression of her. The more that I get to know her and her family, the more I can identify with her and her family. We need Sarah in Washington now more than ever….

Sarah Palin has been such a refreshing and a new inspiration from me. I am a 46 year that has 4 children and 3 step children. My youngest daughter is turning 4 this month! I am also am the administrator for an ambulance district. I also attend a local Assembly of God church. The church of attend is not radical or extreme! It is the largest church is our area. Anyway, when it came out about her 17 year old daughter, my first thought, she is real, one of us. Our family has also experienced one of our daughter’s being pregnant at 17. Cari, has graduated from college and our granddaughter, Hailey, will be 8 this year and is such a joy to us.

Apparently, you guys did not watch the FNC special last night with Greta Van Susteren on Sarah Palin. If you had, then you would know why Sarah attended so many different schools. Sarah herself explains that the reason is that her father had 4 children in school at the same time, on a teacher’s salary. She had to find ways to pay for school herself. This is also why she entered beauty pageants.

Perhaps you three and your producers should do some research (and since it was covered in a Fox special, you didn’t have far to go)before you start mocking others.

Why no Sarah interviews? After the way the MSM has treated her? Check this.

It does not bother me that Gov. Palin attended 5 colleges. People change colleges for various reasons. I am more impressed that she has been with hubby, Todd, since high school, and has been married to him for 20 years. THAT is stickability! As far as the denomination of the church she attended, this is a protestant church and she is a born-again Christian. THIS is what matters…not whether it is AOG, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, etc. People can be so nit-picking’ when it comes to these matters. In the big scheme of things, do these things REALLY matter?

So, is Biden going to ask Hillary to debate Sarah for him too?

I think it is humorous when the once unstoppable Chosen One suddenly has such concerns of Palin’s influence, he feels the need to call in his political rival to stop the bleeding. I don’t believe it will have any effect. I mean, listen to Hillary give a speech and when you get your hearing back, listen to Sarah Palin give a speech. Comparing the delivery of these two ladies is like Grunge versus 80’s dance music. I’ll take 80’s dance any day. Glenn Beck said it best when he recalled watching Sarah’s convention speech. Paraphrasing, Glenn said he felt like he was watching Ronald Reagan in a skirt!

It was unfair to report the book banning rumor by Sarah Palin without actually finding the facts. I believe it was on Gretawire where one blogger actually researched this (doing the media’s job) and found the rumor was unfounded. She went to the archives of the local newspaper and found Sarah did not ask for the librarian to ban any books. I wish I could remember which blogger did the hard work, but certainly Fox should have checked this before even reporting something that appeared as a rumor on a blog.

Why is Joe Biden considered a hero for being a single parent leaving his children in Delaware when he took a train to and from D.C.? And, Sarah Palin is questioned about her ability to have a fully functioning family and extended family, but still hold a public office?

In regards to Sarah Palin’s college time: She was in her late teens/early twenties. A time where one figures out which direction to take in life. Far better at that time then to wait until you’re forty and pop from one thing to another with little or no clue where you’re going or even where you have been. I would think now people would look at the longevity of her marriage as more of an indicator of commitment.

As far as her church being “extreme”: What is extreme to one is absolutely normal to another. I see her as a Christian woman. If her church is strict in it’s teachings or adheres to ways others don’t understand that is a personal choice of hers. However, if it were inciting violence, unrest, and harboring ill feelings toward our country (the same country which allows them the freedom to worship in their own way) then I would be concerned.

My wife and I both think Sarah is great. The democrats are going to attack here saying she isn’t experienced enough to be the President if, God forbid, John passes. Why hasn’t anyone from the McCain camp or the news media informed everyone that, if the situation does arise and Sarah becomes president, she has the ability as president to appoint a new vice president. She could appoint someone with substantial foreign affairs experience just like Obama did with his VP choice and counter the attack. Personally, I believe she is already more qualified to be president than Obama is.

I ca’t believe how much Sarah Palin is being put under a microscope. Did anybody think she might just be a bright woman,great wife and mom aand yes she’s pretty. I heard her say we got more oil and gas right in Alaska then people realize………

As I recall from Gov Palin’s bio, she spent a lot of time getting funds/schalorships for college. Her family could not afford to pay for it for her.

In watching last night’s profile on Sarah, she commented that college was very expensive and there were other siblings in college at the same time. Do you suppose she might have been working to save money to pay for her education? She mentioned the beauty contest that gave her some scholarship money. This is just another example of the fact that Sarah is more like the real America than the East Coast elitists.

The fact she stuck with it and finished is a testimony to her perseverance. Would have been easy to quit. I don’t think Mrs. Palin would ever take the easy way out.

I have no problem with Palin transferring colleges. In fact, I believe it shows determination to find what she wanted in a college education. I have just transferred from a college in Tennessee to one in Boston very late in my college career. It is a frightening thing to leave and set out for a new school and new life. Palin obviously has a great deal of courage to have done it six times in a search for her ideal education.
The important thing is that she found it and she graduated.

So kudos to you Palin for not being afraid to go after your dreams!

I attended many colleges also. Because of my husband’s career relocations across the country. Not everyone attends college straight out of high school.

When dropping off my 4 yr old we would drive up to the door and a teacher would escort them out of the car. Of course I wanted to go in the first couple of days to make sure he was alright. It turned into a half hour of hugs, kisses, I’ll miss you’s (you can imagine) this went on until one day I had a brilliant idea. I conveniently “forgot” an important undergarment. As we drove in to the parking lot I “discovered” this and told my toddler that I was very sorry but he was going to have to go in by himself that morning because I had forgotten a bit of my clothing. Lucky for me, he seemed to understand, went in with the teacher and after that no more morning tear (okay, so they were mostly mine)

Everybody saying Gov. Palin has 5 kids to look after, this is driving me nuts. The oldest boy is shipping out to Iraq later this week and the oldest daughter will soon be married. The next oldest daughter is 15 and maybe 16 soon, she will certainly need her guidance but does not need hands on care, and I’am sure she helps take care of her younger siblings. Mr. Palin seems to be commited to caring for the children while Gov. Palin goes about her duties. So please, point out the fact that there are only 3 kids that wil be at home and only 2 that will require alot of attention which Mr. Palin is perfectly capable of handling till she comes home.

First time I have ever done this, but I had write you a note when I heard your other co-hosts comment about attending different colleges just because they may be “easier”. See, that is the EXACT reason why so many people love Sarah Palin. She is normal, so many people – including myself – have attended several colleges — not because they were “easier”, but because of situations in my life. I take offense to his comment and he actually sounded very “elitist” when he said that.

I can understand how she could be in 6 different colleges. I went to several. The point that matters is that she finished. Oftentimes finances will dictate having to changes colleges. You will notice she said her father had 4 in college at the same time. She also had to go for scholarships in the beauty pageants in order to get money for college. We can’t all go to 1 college and have mom and dad foot the bill for it all.

As I listened this morning to your discussion of Sarah hopping from schhol to school, I was sure I had slipped hit my head and woke up in MSNBC land………Your were arogant and elistist in your discussion. For all your references to the middle class you still don’t get it. She is the middle class. She put herself through school….it is why she always chased beauty pagents….scholarships!!!! In her family, there were three kids going to college at the same time….I don’t know how they do it in the east and you really don’t know how they do it in the Northwest.

Alot of times students change schools to get the same classes but pay less in tuition. My son is doing this so he has less in student loans. it seems the media is looking for anything to belittle her credentials. I believe she is an excellent choice and i commend John McCain for the courage to pick her. They will keep our country safe and I have no reservations about her being ready if ever necessary to take over the Presidency. She will have an excellent teacher.

Last night on Greta’s story of Sarah Palin – Sarah talks about how her parents could not afford to send her to college (and she had siblings to go) – she sites doing the beauty pagent to get a scholarship to help with college (as well as working) – perhaps financial constraints played a part is changing school – it does for many of us in this country.
By the way – I am a registered woman democrate and will be voting for reform in Washington thru the McCain/Palin ticket. Hillary will have a hard time taking the shiney off an authentically shiny person.

Maybe, she did’nt have the money to stay in school, my daughter has attended 3 schools in 4 years because of finances. The point being she kept plugging away until she finished and got her degree.

Some people go to college when and where funds will allow. In the special last evening Sarah said she was looking for scholarships since her parents had several children of college age. She entered the beauty pageants to get scholarships. So to me it proves that she has the “stick-to-it” attitude and did whatever she could to finish college.

Many individuals go to several colleges/universities before receiving a degree. This can be called the process of growing up. As far as her church affiliation, I believe that one’s membership in a church is a personal thing. We must all remember that the Christian religion was given to us by God and that the idea of a “church” is something that is man-made. I attend a church and I am not bashing the institution of a church, one must remember that it is the belief in the Christian religion that is the most important thing – not a particular church and/or its religious teachings.

Perhaps Sarah Palin switched schools because of money. On Greta’s show last night “American Woman”, we saw that Sarah entered beauty pageants for the scholarship money. The “tone” this morning certainly sounds rather snobbish. Why does it matter how many schools and how many years it took to get her degree? She is a real woman, with a real husband and a real family. I can understand how she could go to 6 different colleges. I went to several as well. I would take classes in the summer from a junior college to get ahead. The main point is that she finished and got a degree. Finances oftentimes dictates why a student has to change colleges. I do not think it is fair to compare Palin’s decisions as an eighteen-year-old to that of her decisions at her current age. It is not important as to why she went to five different colleges; it is important that she graduated. The experiences we have in our life make us who we are presently. I don’t care who she was at eighteen or twenty; I care who she is now. Besides, in Palin’s youth she was trying to decide on which college to attend where in Obama’s youth he was an admitted drug user. Again, experiences shape our life, but why is attending five different colleges more questionable than drug use?

Regarding religion, that is something that is important for voters to know (just like Obama’s crazy church and minister was important to know); however, the difference is: if it is in the Bible (such as speaking in tongues and God healing through others miraculously) then it must not be too “out there”- unlike the non-scriptural, prejudiced preaching Obama’s church conducted.

Did you see Greta’s show last night? Sarah explain how hard it was to pay for college because with 2 school teachers as parents and 4 siblings they did not have the funds to pay for college. The beauty pagents helped as well as going to school a semster and then working a semster to pay for it. She also said she was born in Idaho before moving to AK., her extended family is still there so I am sure like normal people she established an address there to get in-state tutition! Lets give her some credit.

I think it’s fair for the media to check her background out. We still know very little about her on a national level. She has not done one interview since being announced as as McCain’s running mate. Everyone compares Sarah Palin to whomever about whatever (this morning her foreign affairs experience to Hillary Clinton; what is her experience by the way?). Even though she is the VP candidate, if her experience (foreign affairs) and commitments (family vs. office) are being challenged, why not compare these things to Barack Obama? When this is done, she becomes even more qualified and the right choice.

Regarding several college changes for Sarah Palin, that means nothing to me. There are a multitude of reasons that she might do that. My thought is that growing up in Alaska for most of her young life she might have wanted to get away and see different places. Who cares the reasons. What is more important to me is that she seems to have a great husband and family. She has stayed in Alaska all of her adult life and and accomplished more than most people could ever hope for!

Just to set the record straight on the Colorado Springs “flag flap.” I just heard Bill say the McCain campaign went to the DNC and got their flags. This is incorrect. They were found beside a dumpster in black trash bags to be hauled to the dump. They were rescued by the vetern who found them.
The attendees at yesterday’s rally were asked to turn them back in to a volunteer after the rally to be used at the various memorials in our city if they did not want to keep their flag. I was at the rally. The real story here is that the DNC received a lot of press for running a “green” campaign but apparently was okay with disposing 12,000 flaps in the landfill. Alisyn you are correct in that students in the Northwest may attend more than one college. Expense is a big factor!! Many of us attend a Community College to get the requirements out of the way and then transfer to a University.

Why would Obama bring out Hillary after marginalizing her. Gov Palin may have found the excessive partying, alcohol, and drug use in Hawaii an unsuitable learning environment for someone with her moral standards. Based on the Fox Special, “Sarah Palin, An American Woman,” she may have also experienced financial difficulties–a problem that was not solved until she entered the Miss Alaska Pageant and won a scholarship. This may have accounted for some of her college transfers, especially the transfer to a community college. I do not read anything significant in a negative sense in these transfers.

Sarah Palin going to 6 different schools – I believe was already explained by her when she stated that her parents had 4 children attending college all at the same time on a teachers salary.

As a single mother whose daughter had to start out at a community college before she got her BS degree at Western in Bellingham WA- she also took a year off after that to raise enough money to go on to get her doctorate at Portland State U. This is just how the northwest middle class children go on to college.

I posted over an hour ago, it still is not on the blog…….what gives. I am not saying anything that others are not saying. What gives with this blog?

In Palin’s biography last night, Palin admitted she had trouble paying for college so had to seek sources where she find them. I think many Americans can identify with this problem Especially if you are not a minority and are a citizen of the USA, otherwise the government would provide a free ride.

When oh when will the media in general get the “brain to mouth thing in-sync”? If the media would do just a little research they would “discover” that Governor Palin has significant foriegn policy experience. Alaska negotiates trade deals with practically the entire “Pacific Rim”. These trade deals are of course approved by the US congress when necessary. What is traded? Coal from Usabeli coal mine to South Korea, fishing agreements with China and Japan, natural gas for many of the Pacific Rim countries. Did I mention Russia is only 60 miles from Alaska, remember the Bering Strait? Alaska and her Governor, keeps close ties with her trade “neighbors”. The motto of Alaska is “North to the future”. I suggest the media take the trip and get a little more educated. By the way, when was the last time Senator Obama sat in on foreign trade negotiations?

Why isn’t the media reporting on Obama’s associations with people, like Rezko, Wm. Ayers, Saudi Billionare?

Was Papantonio reading from a teleprompter?? It appeared he was reading rather than using his own words. Not impressive. Aren’t interviews supposed to be impromtu?

Why aren’t we talking about Obama’s choice of Friends? The likes of William Ayers, he hosted Obama’s first Fund Raiser, David Axlrod, friends with William Ayers, Marilyn Katz, Louis Farrakhan, Father Micheal Pfleger, and many more. Why aren’t we talking about Obama being served with a Civil Action #08-cv-4083 the DNC and the US Attorney’s office accepted for the FEC( Federal Elections Committee)
This Civil Action challenge’s Obamas right to run for the President of the United States, the Civil Action is called Berg vs Obama.
The other thing is, the reason Obama is bringing Clinton back into the race, and I qoute ” to reach the low educated women” Now I may not have a college education, I do have Life education and I’m smart enough to tell a crook and a Liar who will say anything, do anything to get into office.
I thought that Fox News was for the People, I count on Fox News to give Fair news, I see Fox News going soft on Obama and the issues he stands to bring to our Great Country.

Love you guys. re: only “the uneducated” will vote for McCain/Palin. I love it!!! I hear that thrown around everyday, especially by Andrea Mitchell. Just because a person doesn’t go to college, doesn’t mean they are uneducated. This word is used by people in the press to impress on us that “really smart people”(college educated) couldn’t possibly vote for Sarah. The dictionary says an uneducated person is one that has not been well brought up or is unrefined.
Newflash. Many millions of our great Americans, past/ present, didn’t and don’t have college educations, (you can google this) but they have knowledge, wisdom and common sense. Bill Gates just received his “honorary degree” from Harvard Law last year, after dropping out in the 70’s. Many millions of business owners and hard working Americans in the US don’t have degrees, but are educated and are the backbone of this great Nation. So I’d say if “McCain/Palin” just get those “dumb uneducated Americans” to vote for them, they will win. I being one of those “hicks” I have my own business and do very well. As far as the church Palin went to, etc, Obama has his own huge problems regarding that. No matter what she did: college, church, family, etc, they are out to destroy her. If they can’t find anything, theyll make it up and start a rumor.

Alisyn – one son has gone to a couple of different schools mainly due to cost and then curriculum. Palin, in Greta’s interview said cost was a consideration. The more important aspect is that she continued her education and got her degree. She didn’t go for two years and then dump it like a lot of students do. As to her religion, if people make an issue of this like they did Romney, I think Obama’s religious past will well up to haunt the DMS. Add to that, Biden (like Pelosi) preach their own Catholocism and not the beliefs of the Church. That smacks of convenient truths, especially when you are quoting a long established Church. Also, that idiot you had on about the book thing was all wet. Just ask the librarian.

It is always interesting to hear both sides of a political argument, but when left-wing liberal talk radio people start spreading rumor and claiming it to be truth they have crossed an ethical line. That jerk that was on this morning should not be allowed back on Fox. Not because he supports any radical liberal at all costs, but because he deliberately tried to propagate a pack of lies as being the gospel.

Not only did he call Sarah Palin a duck hunter, he implied she was somehow clairvoyant and banning books in 1996 that were not even published until years later. That is bias at its worst!!!!!!!!!!

As far as church affiliation goes, I don’t think Democrats want to go there, since it’ll rehash the issues of Obama’s church and the Rev. Wright ordeal.

As far as switching colleges, that concerns me less than Obama switching from various terrorist ties to moderate military commanders and politicians.

Thank God for Sarah Palin. She has solidified my intention to vote for McCain!

I read the paper every day and I realized they didnot put any pictures of Sarah Paulin on the front page, so I called them and got the round table and spoke to a reporter, and he said they voted or talked not to put VP Picks on the front page and I asked them why and they could not and would not give me an answer. I called paxton in Kentucky and finally they called me back. They were going to stick by there decision. I call them every day to talk to them and so finally they put a size 1″ x 1″ picture of Sarah on the front page and then blasted her daughter on the second page. I need all of you to back me up and try to stop discrimination against women. Please contact the newspaper and try to talk with them. Do you thind a boycot would work.

I like that Sarah Palin has lived life like most people in this country and is not some ivy league graduate that feels some type of entitlement because of rich, political ancestors. She also chose a church because of basic, fundamental religious belief and not as a tool to further a political career.

These liberals sure are showing their true colors now and are managing to sink that ship of fools all on their own!

One more thought about religious belief. One of my aunts was an ordained pentecostal minister and a lifelong member of an Assembly of God church. She traveled throughout the south preaching the word of God in the 30’s and 40’s. You will not find that sort of history within the Catholic or Baptist denominations of Christianity.

You media women should give that one a little thought! My aunt and others like her blazed the trails that opened up opportunities for all of you.

Forget the schools, I’m with Amanda. Investigate or at least mention the Berg vs Obama lawsuit. I’ve been getting emails from friends all over th country concerning this and wondering why it has gotten no action. First of all her faith has impressed me.
Second, I want to comment on an interview I saw Saturday morning. The woman you were interviewing was saying that it will be hard for Sarah Palin to be VP and mother. I don’t believe so. In most womens lives this may be true, however, her marriage seems to be a partnership. Meaning that both parents fill in whereever needed. Evendently she has been Mayor and a successful Governor while being a mother and even during the birth of her last child. When both husband and wife support each other in their decisions, a couple can do anything.

How many schools that Gov. Palin isn’t a substantive issue; Greta’s show last night had some revealing information ~ like she and First Dude eloped because their families didn’t have a lot of money. Sarah’s dad was a science teacher, and as the mother of a teacher, I know that they don’t make nearly enough money. So, maybe Sarah switched schools due to financial considerations. And the fact that she didn’t attend one of those Ivy League schools doesn’t bother me one bit; that just makes her more believable. She’s NOT an elitist; she’s real.

As far as her church affiliation, I used to attend an Assembly of God church, and my experience wasn’t that it was weird ~ not by any stretch of the imagination. (I grew up in a very conservative Catholic home) Apparently, she left that church and is going somewhere else now, but I’m not sure where because it hasn’t been splashed all over the Ultra-liberal Kansas City Star yet. One thing I know for sure….the hate-filled racially divisive speechifying sermons of Oblaham’s pastor would NOT be found in a church that Gov. Palin attends; from what I’ve seen, I don’t think she’d stay in her pew long enough to hear the end of that sermon.

This is the first time I am attempting to express my opion on this blog. Finding about Palin is a big deal since we know McCain can be impulsive with decisions …if God forbid something happens to McCain, Palin will be President. #1 job in U.S. She will have so we need to know about her before we vote!!!

If God forbid something happens to McCain we will have a president that has over an 80% approval rating by their constituents in Alaska. A person with strong family values. A person that believes in a strong military. A person that was challenged by both Democrats and Republicans in Alaska and weathered the storm.

Trashing a person because they are a female Christian is not vetting. It is rumor mongering with the intent of doing harm to someone outside the main stream media’s little circle.

Why is nothing known about Obama’s time at Columbia? Why was there such a hands off approach to Obama by the media until SNL ruffled a few feathers and the Rev. Wright videos broke loose? It took a year before anyone started asking hard questions about this guy no one knows.

If God forbid anything happens to Obama (both his parents died relatively young) we will be stuck with Joe Biden. The least favorite democratic candidate for president this year. The guy that said Obama did not have the experience to be the President.

I for one am very pleased that Gov. Palin has attended a number of different colleges and universities. I attended a variety of schools ranging from community colleges to state supported and private universities in three different states, before receiving my undergraduate degree.

Each college campus has its own distinct culture and organizational management system. Learning to successfully navigate in significantly different environments has helped me immensely in my career. When most high school students visit college campuses, they are hoping to find that special place that “feels right”. While a good fit may be comfortable, it lends little to personal growth or expanded understanding. I am white, but I purposely attended Norfolk State University, an HBC (historically black college) – instant immersion! It was a great experience; I learned more about a culture other than my own in one semester than I could have ever learned in decades without that experience.

Politics is not a one size fits all business, it’s imperative that our elected officials be well rounded and I believe that Gov. Palin’s varied educational experiences will provide that result.

In an interview this morning, McCain said Palin will probably start doing interviews this week.

Love you guys – nice balance between you and VERY fair reporting. I’m annoyed at the sexism and unfair attempts to mudrake. Did anyone ask Joe Biden if he could be a good father and still be a senator? How about Nancy Pelosi – she has lots of kids and a big job!

Also, did it occur to anyone that changes in college may be due to financial considerations, or family changes/needs? That she kept at it, despite where she was, to get her degree is laudable. And insofar as changing to get the final degree at a better school, U of Idaho with respect does not compare with the Harvard/Yale component of the Obamas. Weren’t they lucky to get in there! It’s not always “just brains” that does it for entry in those schools.

Re experience: Clinton himself portrayed himself as the pundits did before his term: “only a governor, too young, and no foreign policy experience.” He made light of it by the inference to his successful presidency and his continuing popularity and regard.
Well Sarah seems to have the same background, except that Alaska’s budget and problems differ significantly from Arkansas!

Also, she’s NOT going to have 5 at home: the son is going to Iraq; the daughter will be married and making a home of her own, purportedly. That the family remains close is a tribute and should not be a criticism. If she and McCain win, she won’t be in Alaska anyway, and likely will have household help, despite her good husband being willing to be Mr. Mom for her term.

Have Dems and Reps forgotten that elections are SUPPOSED to be about what the people want, not what they “convince them they want” ???

When can we talk about the issues? Since we have yet to have real talk from the candidates on the issues other then they both agree we need CHANGE. If they wont speak on them, lets look how they acted if at all in the past. You need to have a long segment on the following topics:

 What is Obama’s record compared to McCain’s? Illustrate the key pieces of legislation over the last few years of Obama’s tenure. How they voted, if they voted, and why they voted the way they did. Include details on Obama’s state legislation too.
 The economy….
o What are the measures of good/bad economy?
o How has it actually faired over the last 20 years
o What impact did 911 have
o What impact did the Democratically controlled congress have
o How has our economy faired in comparison to other countries and how have they affected each other
 Congress
o What members of Congress are earmark mongers
o What has Congress actually done since the Dem.’s took over, compared what was accomplished in the preceding GOP reign
o What did Congress actually accomplish in the “first 100 hours” of the Dem’s taking over.
o What items have been brought before either house has the majority refused to address.
o What ridiculous programs have been funded with taxpayer money (bridges to nowhere, the study of the effects of mood music on dragonflies)
 The War on Terror
o The Dem’s seem to be changing their tune on the Surge…. Saying that it was always a part of their Timetable for Withdrawal. My recollection: they were dead set against sending more troops and wanted to pull out in an arbitrarily announced date, regardless of the outcome or results on the ground.
o It looks as if the SUCCESS of the Surge has made possible: the drawdown of troops and the transfer of responsibility to the Iraqi forces.
o The Dem’s might have a case that we should never have gone into Iraq for the given reasons (Al-Qaida and WMD) … but I would argue that Iraq needed saving from its tyrannical dictator regardless. The point is we went in and need to finish what we started!!!!!

And Finally you need to have your own show where you are the fact checker for the public
o When Palin says Obama has never written any worth while legislation… you check the facts and report to the viewers
o When Obama says that the economy has sucked for the last 8 years check the facts… has it really only sucked for the past 2 years when the Dem’s were in control of Congress?
o When a reporter writes trash that has no basis only slander … check the facts and call him out and point out his/her ties to far left bloggers or far right. It disgusts me that slanderous hateful speech can be passed off as news when it could be seen as dancing too close to the fringe of hate-speech
o When need someone to police the media!!!!!

Gov Palin’s choice of colleges, and the number of colleges she attended 20 years ago is a non-factor for me. Her faith, and what her church believes will be important to many voters, but why attack her on this? Or why attack Sen Obama for what his church believes? Instead, why not go to the source and see what the Bible has to say about speaking in Tounges and miraculous healings? Oh, I forgot the Bible has been banned from most of our public institutions.

Jesus had much to say about how we should treat one another, and even how we should treat our enemies. Jesus spoke about Loving one another, and even Loving our enemies. His teachings were considered radical in His time, and it seems they are still considered radical today. His teachings were considered so radical that Jesus was even put to death by the so-called “Religious” crowd of his day.

I’m sure the Assembly of God church also preaches about this “Love” that Jesus spoke of, and I’m sure this Love is grounded within Gov Palin’s heart (and Sen Obama’s heart as well). After all, she loved her unborn child enough to bring it into this world when she knew her baby was not perfect. My goodness, who amoung us is? My support for Gov Palin is not based on her perfection, it is based on the knowledge that she is indeed imperfect…just like me. She is a courageous women whose choices I respect.

Your choice may be for Obama-Biden for your own reasons, but I’ll be supporting McCain-Palin because as a Vet, and a believer in Jesus Christ, I most identify with these Candidates.

Everybody made a big deal out of Obama’s ties to the “Reverend” Wright, so I’d say Sarah’s church ties are fair game.

I don’t think any of this is relevent to Sarah Palin becoming the next VP of this country. I mean, so what if she transfered to different colleges? A lot of people have done it. I dont think its much a big deal.

Btw, i really like that special that aired last night. I look forward to watching it again tonight. It was really refreshing and informative. FNC has done it once again with quality programming with the liberal bias.

I watch f&f everyday and love the show! As far as Sarah Palin going to several colleges, who cares? I had 3 in college at the same time and they switched colleges like they did clothes. Some colleges offer different and better courses for the degree one needs. I respect the fact they she did all she could to help her parents out. She is truly a great american woman and this is only the beginning for her. I am sure there are a lot of hard feelings on Hillary’s part because she stole the limelight away from her! I think Sarah could give even Hillary a run for her money. Anyone could give Barry (O’Bama) a run for his money. He’s just a smooth b….s…..er with not a lot of substance. Just a “ghost” in a suit. Sarah Palin’s college career is another aspect that makes her a “regular” person. I am 42 and just now finishing up my doctorate. I’m on my forth school and have changed for various reasons. Life happens to normal people.

I was eavesdropping on the show this morning while I got ready to go to church, so I’m sketchy on names and times. I am beginning to think it was wishful thinking that I heard you interrupt your conservative guest to call him on the lies he was telling about Governor Palin’s alleged book banning, as it appears I am the only one commenting on it. This is my first time to comment. It doesn’t’ bother me at all that Sarah attended so many different colleges. I graduated from Western Washington University 4 years ago, at age 63! I did the first two years at two different Community Colleges to pick up the basics at a lower tuition and because of a change my location. In the three schools I attended ,there were so many young classmates who had attended multiple schools. Sometimes, they don’t know what they want and go to another school that better fits their study needs, or move to a location with lower living expense, as I did. In Washington State the two year colleges cost one half as much. Rather than speculate about the number of schools she attended, I think the important thing is that she already shows proven ability. I am so sick of the book banning story, and shame on people for bringing it up. This rumor has been totally debunked.
By the way did I hear you say that you did a two year stint in Bellingham? It is so early when you come on in the morning out here in the west that sometimes I am half awake. I’m a big fan of yours as is my husband. We really miss you for the early segment on weekdays. For some reason we got in the habit of waking up at 3:00 am, and we liked that first hour so much we didn’t go back to sleep until that hour was over. You are certainly the star of the weekend show. I think you bring out the best in your two co hosts.

I watched your discussion about Sarah Palin’s education history. It was said on Greta’s special on Gov. Palin last night that she saw scholarship pageants as a way to pay for her college. Having worked with the Miss America pageant system, I wonder if she enrolled in these different colleges in different states so that she would be eligible for a preliminary state pageant and win more money to allow her to continue her education? In the Miss America preliminary state pageants, not all of the pageants are “open” pageants where a woman from any part of the state can enter. You have to be a resident of the particular county or a student at a college/university in that county in which the pageant is being held. For example, Debbie Turner was in the Miss Arkansas pageant several years and her last year she was first runner-up. Consequently, when she went to, I believe it was veterinarian school, she eventually became Miss Missouri and then won the title of Miss America. I don’t know if this is the case for Sarah Palin, but it is a definite possibility. However, what does it matter? She was between the ages of 18-22…….people at this age don’t always make the best decisions. It is what she has done with her life the last 10-15 years that are most important to me. I think all that she has accomplished speaks volumes and makes her highly qualified for the position in which she has been nominated.

I was leaving for church this morning and didn’t have time to respond to the comments about how many different colleges Sarah Palin attended. We know she had limited finances and maybe that was the most economical way for her to get her education. I realy don’t think it matters. I know a lot of people who attended numerous colleges in pursuit of an education.
I am so disgusted with most of the media, especially NBC/MSMBC that not only will I not watch them any more but since there is a connection with Microsoft I am getting rid of Internet Explorer and MSN completely on all of my computers both at home and business. Maybe if enough other people did the same they would get the message. I’ve let CNN know they have lost a viewer as well.

Today as I sit here thinking about my home. I think how after all the years I put my well being and life on the line for it. Because it is now saying to the world that we will never let a woman sit in the 2nd most highest chair in this country or first. That we only talk about rights but really do not care about rights. If my country did not want a woman to be Vice President or President then why did it gave woman the right to vote. ( I think now just to shut them up ).
I cannot spell good any more or write due to the damage I have received from doing what was right for my country. But I can say is I did it for my country so all can have that right.

The fact that we know Palin changed colleges several times, tells me that we at least know about it and that she isnt trying to hide anything. ON THE OTHER HAND Barrack won’t even release his college transcripts….Is he trying to hide some of the courses he took? That would be more of a concern to me. I don’t care what his grade was, but I want to know why he doesn’t want us to see the transcript more than anything!

Ok as a christian who also “speaks in tongues” and believes in the miraculous…(why else would anyone pray?) I am so amused that I am extreme! Personally I don’t feel that somthing that is described in the Bible as a normal experience subsequent to salvation is extreme…but hey, who am I to quibble…
as for school…so she knew what she didn’t want, and had the guts to move on-not stay and pay and get a degree in somthing she would later not like. I’m thinking that sounds more smart than not.

I think its funny that you guys are talking about media bias, when you guys have pretty much endorsed Gov. Palin. I know Sen. Obama has a few negative things in his past, but he also has some positive. My only gripe is that you guys are not doing your job and looking into Palin’s background. But you didn’t hesitate to put up a headline about Obama trying to hide something because he doesn’t talk about his years at Columbia. Does anyone on this blog know that Sen. Obama graduated from Harvard University Law School with honors and his was the first African American to be President of the Harvard Law Review. He also taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago for twelve years. I also think its not only funny, but it’s sad to see how easily people can be persuaded by a pretty face and some strong words. I challenge everyone to do a little research of their own and just to take a look a Gov. Palins’ political career. I also challenge everyone to look up what Obama has done since he has been in legislation, because Fox News will lead you to believe this man has done nothing. I admit Palin is a very tough woman and the Obama camp should be scared, but people are not looking at what is important here.

This question is to JANET: Why do you care so much about Obama’s life 20+ years ago when the world knows nothing about Palin? Just a little FYI, the only reason we know about her changing schools 6 times is because a little “investigative” reporting was done, not because she announced it to the world.

The fact that Sarah left an “extreme” religion several years ago says more than Obama leaving his “mentor” and “friend” just a few months ago. As far as her education – there is nothing wrong with attending a Universitywhere you get the grants and scholarships. Why not expand your knowledge and learn where you can-when you can. She graduated -that should count for something. She persevered through financial strains and probably gained a better knowledge of various states and or communities where she attended. Hooray for her. Wish I could vote twice. Once for McCain and once for Palin.

(He wants you to share) Then one day we added an eight week old golden retriever puppy to our family. She learned right away that when the bird says, “Hello” someone, somewhere has food and she would come running. I thought, this is a smart dog. A couple weeks later I’m balancing the checkbook at the kitchen table. My puppy is sound asleep in the next room and out of the blue the bird starts saying “Hello” again and again. I’m thinking the bird is crazy until, the puppy jumps up and comes running into the kitchen still half asleep. Next the bird starts laughing and laughing. Then I realized how smart the little bird brain was to manipulate the dog for his own amusement.

WHO cares that Obama graduated from Harvard Law School??? That did not make him the person he is inside. OK – so he was smart. BIG DEAL. There are thousands of men and women just as smart but weren’t able to get into an ivy leage school. WHY is he trying to hide a few years of college life at Columbia? The media was so quick to jump onto Palin and start digging up STUPID stuff that has no bearing on what kind of a leader she will make. The media should be all over this like flies on dung – oh silly me – with the exception of Fox – the rest are LIBERAL and are afraid of what will be discovered.

Yah after two weeks of trying I think I have figured out how to leave comments Alysins Greenroom!! Many people jump from college to college, it was true in my day and it hasnt changed much. College is a time for change, growth and exploration. People swap schools for the courses or major they want, to be closer to home ie Mom’s Dormitory, or just to be with the one millioneth person they have fallen in love with!

Our gas prices in East Tennessee started going up Fri am. From $3.49 Friday am to $3.89 in 2 hours.
Now our gas is $4.29-$4.89/gal for regular unleaded .

If you can’t respect a person you need to respect their position. The questions and subjects that have been brought up with Sarah Palin are inappropriate. Can you take care of your family and handle this job, comments regarding her choice of having her last child, and now her religion. Would they ask the Queen these questions. What example are these people to their children or the children of America that are hearing these stories.

I am Church of God and believe the same as Sarah Palin. I am praying for her physical, spiritual, and emotional protection throughout this campaign. I watch every her on FOX News as often as possible. Sarah Palin has brought new life and hope to a dreary election. YES!!!!

I would just like to ask one question please……

Why is it that we give any time to the Hollywood Morally Challenged the time of day?
People like “Woody” a man who cheated on his wife with their adopted daughter, goes overseas & trashs our country? Let him stay wherevere he is.

Part of the problem with this country is that you have a group of people that barely, if at all, made it through high school, have affairs after affairs, then have children out of wedlock, telling everyone that their behavior is okay & because they are famous we should listen to them.

Our youth see their star studded life style & some try to mimic it only to find out it’s not that way in “True Life Country” but by then it’s too late.

I also want to know why it is that so many politicians go after the Hollywood Morally Challenged.
Yes they want their money but in going after their money you give credibility to these
people that have no idea or have forgotten how the real world works…….

I have watched Fox for many, many years. I am also very proud to say I have encouraged people to watch and they still do. You are a tremendous asset to Fox and your co-workers and in my opinion, very successfully balance the serious with humor. However, I have one question. Have you ever considered having the true “average Joe or Josephine” talk about their own thoughts and feelings rather than using the strategists and pundits and pollsters. No one has asked me, or for that matter, any of my family or friends. Just a thought. Our city is now facing utility increases (the average is close $13.00 a month). One reason (I have the billing insert to prove they did state this) the utility company overestimated new housing and business growth. Therefore, WE are given an increase to make up for the company’s losses because the housing and development business was overestimated! There must be many examples of this sort of “extortion” (after all, you really cannot cook over a candle..I’ve tried it. Nor, would I be able to write to you via computer). Raising the minimum wage directly connects to higher prices, increased unemployment and so forth. My daughter once said to me, “Mom, you have checks in your checkbook, so you have a lot of money!) Out of the mouths of babes…She is now twenty two and fully appreciates the empty checkbook. But deep down, I believe she is still hunting for that money tree. A drink from the Fountain of Youth anyone?
