What did everyone here think of McCain’s acceptence speech last night? All i can say is, i am even more of fan of him and his policies after watching that. It sure made me proud to be an American.

Hey Alisyn! I’m having guests for dinner Saturday night and serving Moose Stew. What kind of wine goes with that? There’s a Hungarian red called Egri Bikaver that translates to “Bulls Blood.” I used to have it at Cafe Budapest in Boston. Think it’ll work? What if our guests are democrats? I’m so confused!!!

Commentary during last night’s coverage of the RNC was excessive. In order to view the speakers, I had to change channels to CNN. But to get a response to the speakers, I then changed it back to FOX.

I am a long time FOX viewer and was disappointed the last 2 nights.

I loved the speech last night. I was in tears at the end of it. I was not a big McCain fan until this week. I am glad the convention got back on track and was such a huge success.

You betcha Brad. I have always been proud to be an American. My husband has 20 years in the military fighting for this country. We need to protect this country from harm and I KNOW that John McCain and Sarah Palin are the ones to do that!! Obama “wants to talk”. That is not how you deal with terriorists. McCain and Palin are the ones to clean house and shape up the government so they can serve the people in the manner that we deserve to be taken care of.

McCain and Palin have my vote. Class act.

Being born in California and moving to Ak in 1982 to a small village in the North Slope between Wainwright and Pt Hope calle Pt Lay I found out what it was to be an Alaskan. I had $100 and a one way ticket to Barrow the weather was bad and it took 2 days to get there. A doctor who was on the plane asked me where are you going to stay . I told him that I was going to sleep in the airport, that Alaskan said no way and paid for my motel room and food and the only thing he asked for was when you see someone that needs help do the same thing I’m doing for you.
The $100 was for a mail plane to take me to Pt. Lay. After working there for over a year I got a job with Wick Construction who keep me working over 4 years. Every person I met that was native or a true Alaskan never asked for money the only thing they asked for was to help other people.
Sarah Palin was born in AK and I belive she has the same values that the a true Alaskan has.
If you are cold If you are hungry If you are a good human being they will open up their homes to help you, If you are not learn how to be one. When you shake a persons hand you will stand up to the agreement no matter what happens, your hand shake is your word and honor.
I believe Sarah Palin and her family have all of that. In fact I know she does, Look me in the face shake my hand and I will help you. Never been good at spelling so sorry.

Ihave encountered a few democrats that are voting mccain/palin for example my boyfriend and his mother and step dad all in favor of the republicanticket and im not afraid of crossing the party line the best man and woman should win it looks to me like obama didnt have the nerve to put a woman on his ticket so i guess you could say obama was scooped by mcCain ! we are fired up and ready now to contend with all those idiots who beleive women cant have a career and family well i worked two jobs and raised my kids as a single mom so put that in your pipe and smoke it obama!

Oprah has the authority and right not to have Sarah Palin on the show. Oprah’s show is not a political show.

I knew this story would get traction…only because conservatives are still upset with Oprah for supporting Obama.

Oprah has made her billions thru selling herself to be just “one of the girls”, just like every other woman. She supported and trumpeted the advancement of all women.
But now we are seeing that Oprah is just like NOW and all the other so called ‘feminist’ in media and politics. She support the advancement of women, but only if the woman has the politics they approve of, liberal. They only care about there being a D on the voter registration card than they do there being F on the driver license.

I don’t remember conservatives being as concerned with Hillary being on Oprah!

I think every Republican women should get tickets to her show and stand and turn their backs to her. Maybe someone should really dig into her background to see if everything she has said about herself is a fact

I have lived in Florida all my life a large majority of the time on islands. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER has the government brought in buses, trains, and airplanes to evacuate us. Why is it expected in New Orleans? I would think they would bring all those federal resources in now for IKE in the Keys but that won’t happen because the Keys are not a welfare state and still know how to take care of themselves. Wake up America once the Government starts taking care of you apparently you are no longer able to take care of yourself. It’s just Plain Scary.

They are afraid if Sarah Palin wins the Vice Presidential seat, she will have 4 great years of experience over Hillary Clinton in 2012. GO SARAH!!!

I can’t believe you are discussing the question of whether or not a woman can handle a stressful job with a family at home and be good at either – you have set women back 50 years!! Enough – every time you discuss this, you reinforce this archaic, sexist idea! Aren’t we all beyond this?

I just watch the segment with the woman who wrote about working Mother’s having two full time jobs. Alyson and this author kept saying that Sarah Palin has 5 children at home and how can she be both Mom and VP. She will have 3 children at home. The oldest leaves this week for Iraq and the 17 year old daughter will soon be married. This will leave her with 3 children which does make a difference. Yes, she will be busy but I think her and her husband discussed all of this before she made her decision.
Also, I heard Dr. Phil’s statement when David Letterman asked about the situation with her oldest daughter. Dr. Phil said that he doesn’t think that any teenager will think of what their parents have taught in the heat of a backseat. She is 17 and she made a wrong choice to have sex but made the right choice not to kill the baby. She is being responsible with the consequences of her actions.

The Gov’t has never produced, built, raised or invented anything in this country to make it great, but rather provided and freedom for those who do and that is why this country is as great as it is for as young as it is compared to the rest of the world

Oprah should have Sarah on.. she had Bill Clinton on during the Hillary/Obama primary hooplah and simply stated she supports Obama. She doesn’t want to draw anymore attention to Sarah than what’s out there now… running scared just like mainstream media.

About the woman auther you just had on the show this morning discussing whether Sarah can handle VP with five children…. enough already!! Do people really think Sarah accepted this nomination without thinking all that through??!! Without discussing what it would mean to the family?? She’s already been Gov for two years having to juggle both jobs, while being pregnant, discovering the news of a special needs child… she knows stress, pressure and can obviously deal with. She obviously has the support of her husband and family. This auther suggesting she get help with kids, household chores, etc… come on!! Don’t you think Sarah has a mind of her own and can figure this out? PLEASE, can we move on from this topic?!

The one issue that is really bugging me about the Sarah Pallin bashing is the analysis on how a mother of 5 will be able to handle being a vice -president as well.

Is it me, or has anyone else done the math within the Palin family:
- The oldest, Track, next week will be in Iraq. Not sure how much extensive care giving Sarah will be providing to him once he is in the Middle East. I think he looks like a big boy to me and can handle himself.
- Bristol, as the whole planet knows, is 5 months pregnant and thus by innaguration day will likely be living with he soon-to-be husband Levi and their newborn. Once again, I see Sarah parenting demands will likely be diminished a little be more. OK, 2 down, 3 to go.
- The 2nd girl, Willow, looks like she’s a young teen and appears to have some motherly skills as I’ve seen her in the background helping with Trig and Piper.
- And last but not least Todd looks like a perfectly capable house-husband (I hope he doesn’t hate hearing that),

So with that he must care for 3, not 5, with the aid of many servants that work the vice-presidential housing.

I’m guessing Sarah will tell all the servants to look for other jobs.
We can handle it ourselves.

Dear Alisyn, I have watched and watched the news about Sarah Palin and isn”t it common sense tp bring up the fact that two of her five chldren are about to leave the nest and will no longer be part of her and her husbands day to day responsibility. i can’t believe that this is not even mentioned in any reporting and wonder why.Thank you for considering this e-mail. anne

Don’t you think Sarah will have any help she could get being V.P. of the USA raising her kids? Also, when a child makes a mistake in life, it does not mean the parents are bad parents. I have made a ton of mistakes in life, but I don’t blame my parents. When a child gets to the age of 16, they will and can make mistakes. I tell my boy all the time who is 16, one of the worst mistakes he can make in life is getting a girl pregnant. This does not mean it will not happen because I warned him of all the problems he will have if he gets a girl pregnant.

On the working Mother issue, why are the attacks just at Sarah? Aren’t both potential First Ladies Mothers too? No one has commented on whether either future First Lady would be able to handle that job and be a Mother too!

Alisyn, In regards to the story of the media and democrats sending huge group of attorneys and reporters to Alaska to try and find dirt on Sarah Palin – I think if there had been anything of substance against her, the dirty republicans that she went up against in the govenor’s election in 2006 would have found it and used it against her then – that was her “vetting process”.

I am so glad to see “another type” of woman in the political arena. The Hillary and Pelosi’s of politics are so out of touch with the average american woman.

SARAH PALIN SHOULD REFUSE TO TALK TO OPRAH AFTER SHE AND SEN. McCAIN WIN THE ELECTION IN NOVEMBER. OPRAH ALWAYS CATERS TO PEOPLE SHE LIKES BUT WILL NEVER CONFRONT A SERIOUS ISSUE, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS CONTRADICTORY TO HOW SHE FEELS. THIS IS TYPICAL OF OBAMA’S HOLLYWOOD TYPES.

Alisyn, it does not matter that Oprah refuses to have Sara Palin on her show. Everyone should just bake cupcakes with very thick icing and send them to her and just pray that she will “swell back up to 400 lbs” and get off the air. I have lost all respect for Oprah.

I am more for the McCain/Palin ticket now than ever before. They will do it and CAN do it. I don’t understand Obama raising taxes, then saying he is giving rebates to 95% of Americans. AND THE POINT IS? Also, being on a board in Chicago made up of the Weather Underground who bought his house for him. The most corrupt politics in the country, Chicago, who rejected him. I don’t understand that. I am really scared of his thinking of defending this country. I am retired military. You don’t talk to people who want to hurt you. As far as Mrs. Palin being on Oprah it would serve no purpose. I have tried to watch her show twice and have actually noticed that it is way to difficult for a thinking person to endure. Her left wing brain washing of the simple mind is just short of criminal.

I find it rather ironic that you have a segment on how to deal with “Bullies” this morning on “Fox and Friends,” and at the end of this segment your team makes fun of Sarah Palin’s hair style and her glasses.

I am one of those Hillary Clinton voters that is going to switch to McCain, Palin. I keep hearing that Hillary Clinton fans won’t switch but they are wrong. Many of us supported Hillary Clinton because we admired her. She had a bad time of it with her husband and was called the “B” word by many commentators. Fact is some of us just liked Hillary. But the democratic party decided they weren’t going to stand up for her and defend her because they wanted Barack Obama in office. Many of us really want to see a woman in the White House. We want to point to someone to our daughters and say, “See you can do anything.” This is more important to us as women. Some of us will be lead by the fact that we are women, others that they are from the Democrat party.

I also think Hillary Clinton needs to be very careful for her own sake. The democrats may try to talk her into going after Sarah Palin and John McCain. Women like me might see this comparable to what the Democrats and the news media did to Hillary. This I promise you will not go over well with Hillary Clinton supporters. I would suggest if she has any future plans to run for office that she treds softly here.

I’ve never “blogged” before so I hope I don’t insult anyone! I love the show, but the doctor who does the medical portion looks like a total dork with his white jacket on and his stethoscope draped around his neck. I think he’d look more professional if he just wore a suit. I mean, really, what doctor do you know who races around the streets of New York (or Miami where I live) in his white jacket and stethoscope?

The prison experts have reported that there are 100,000 innocent Americans currently being falsely imprisoned along with the 2,300,000 total US prison population nationwide.
Since our US Congress has never afforded poor prison inmates federal appeal legal counsel for their federal retrials,they have effectively closed the doors on these tens of thousands of innocent citizens ever being capable of possibly exonerating themselves to regain their freedom through being granted new retrials.

This same exact unjust situation was happening in our Southern States when poor and mostly uneducated Black Americans were being falsely imprisoned for endless decades without the needed educational skills to properly submit their own written federal trial appeals.

This devious and deceptive judicial process of making our poor and innocent prison inmates formulate and write their own federal appeal legal cases for possible retrials on their state criminal cases,is still in effect today even though everyone in our US judicial system knows that without proper legal representation, these tens of thousands of innocent prison inmates will be denied their rightful opportunities of ever being granted new trials from our federal appeal judges!!

Sadly, the true US *legal* Federal Appeal situation that occurs when any of our uneducated American prison inmates are forced to attempt to submit their own written Federal Appeals (from our prisons nationwide) without the assistance of proper legal counsel, is that they all are in reality being denied their legitimate rights for Habeas Corpus and will win any future Supreme Court Case concerning this injustice!

For our judicial system and our US Congressional Leaders Of The Free World to continue to pretend that this is a real and fair opportunity for our American Middle Class and Working Poor Citizens, only delays the very needed future change of Federal Financing of all these Federal appeals becoming a normal formula of Our American judicial system.

It was not so very long ago that Public Defenders became a Reality in this country.Prior that legal reality taking place, their were also some who thought giving anyone charged with a crime a free lawyer was a waste of taxpayers $$.
