Saw your segment on the 61-lb baby. I do agree that this child has a genetic or metabolic abnormality. I also applaud your recognition of Prader-Willi syndrome and the latest treatments (Growth Hormone Therapy) associated with it.

However, I doubt that this child has Prader-Willi. Most children with PWS exhibit a failure to thrive in their first year of life. While Growth Hormone can help combat that a bit – most PWS children are born with a condition called Hypotonia and have difficulties feeding and growing.

The morbid on-set obesity is still a real challenge for those with the disorder, but Growth Hormone and proper control (as you state) can revolutionize that. My daughter suffers from this disorder, but we manage to keep her tall and thin.

Not a question, but comment. I thought my TV had jumped to nbc or msnbc when I heard one of your host say New Orleans ICU patients were being loaded on buses to go elsewhere. Had I earlier heard Mike Huckabee say he was at the Little Rock Airport, where there were many ambulances waiting to receive patients. Were the buses going to the airport to transfer patients to ambulances?? Come on now let’s get the information straight.

Notice Hillary’s attitude as manifested by her face and body posture. It appears to me that “something” happened between Bill and Hillary on the way to this gathering. Whatever it was has Hillary really upset with Bill. Surely she did not discover he has another woman on the side! Nah, that couldn’t be it. But, it is something that has Hillary extremely upset with Bill and wanting to send him an unmistakable message.

Here’s my question(s): Why don’t doctors listen to their patients? It’s my body and it’s my money, but no matter which doctor I go to, they just want to give me a pill and send me on my way.

I feel like we should be a team, but every doctor I go to seems to have an “I know best” attitude and I leave the office angry and untreated.

I really enjoyed watching the doctor answer all the embarrassing questions from viewers. What was more enjoyable was watching the priceless expressions on Alisyn face while the doctor was answering. Also, the doctor is terrific and I hope you continue including him in the weekend format.

I would like to say first that the government did a good job on protecting those who wanted to leave. I pray for all of the familes and especially children that had no choice in staying. my question is with Hurrican season not over until Nov. How many times is the government responsiable to evacuate. What and when everyone returns home and the threat of another storm. How do we continue to pay for this. I understand how important the port of Louisiana is, but if life is just as important. Has the govenment really figure out a more permenant solution.

We have watched Dr Mike a couple of times but probably won’t watch him again. Do you folks realize that a large percentage of the time he says:”…check with your doctor.” He is the doctor!! They are writing in for solutions and resolutions, not to have a doctor turn right back around and have them “check with their doctor”. They might as well watch Oprah, that doctor will give you plan.

Dear fellow bloggers last night I blogged some and watched the RNC. I noticed that someone left a comment about BO beinbg on O’Reilly Thurs. night. It was late so I doubled checked this morning and it is TRUE. Why am I so upset??? On last Thurs. Obama’s night John McCain suspended the campaign and made a NICE AD CONGRATULATING Obama on his night. What does O’ Reilly DO put BO on at PRIME time during McCain’s acceptance night. I respectfully ask our loyal bloggers to please e-mail , call Fox, blog whatever you choose to ask them to change the interview to another night. This is outrageous and disrespectful to McCain and to us. This is not the time for this, McCain did not interupt his night. I cannot believe Fox would play into BO’s plans to hurt and disrupt this night. Why O’Reilly, did you sell us out? Why Fox?

As a male independent voter, I’m exciterd over the Palin choice. I believe she will go to Washington and field dress the the good old boy network just as she does with a moose.
