Alisyn in the Greenroom

Prince Chunk, et al

If you guys saw our animal segment, you know how desperate shelters are this month for animals to be adopted.  August is the worst month for abandoned animals.  Prince Chunk already has 500 applicants wanting to adopt him but the other little kitty (with the breathing problem) and the dog (pitbull mix), need to find homes.  If you would like to adopt these, check out the Camden County Animal Shelter’s website at ccasnj.org.

Adopting a grown cat or dog from the animal shelter is a great way to get a pet. They are so appreciative and loving.

Need to be very careful with pound puppies. They have been exposed to every animal disease known to man and could cause serious problems for any other pets you might have. Very good idea, but get it checked by a vet before introducing it to your home. Been there; done that….

Adopting from a Humane Society or Local Pound is a very good thing to do, and yes, get the animals to a Vet as soon as possible!!! Don’t forget to have it neutered or spayed !!!!!

Please let us try to expose and get Puppy Mills out of existence !!! These places are horrible and very cruel to animals !!!

We adopted a “pound dog” in 2003 and he is the best and smartest dog I have ever owned!! He looks exactly like “Benji” so therefore that is his name. He was already “potty trained” and would sit up for a treat or on command. How lucky we are. Take a chance on pound dogs….we did and he pays us back every single day.

Well, my heart goes out to pets that are situated in pounds, without much hope of rescue. And very wise suggestion to have your pet checked before bringing it home, especially considering the liklihood of introducing ticks in the home.

Oh Alisyn I just realized that you will be on the weekend show all the time now. Wonderful, I just love you, I think you are so pleasant, funny and smart. Sorry to see the other woman go, but if it means getting you, it’s okay.

Are you still going to do the morning show? How will you find time for everything, especially with little ones.

Made the mistake of watching “Red Eye” tonight and now I am scratching my head and my a$$. WTH was that about?

An example of the brilliant dialogue on this program:

Anonymous: What is the meaning of life?

Greg: You slimy, pukey, cootie, cruddy cuddle bear! If you were a 100 miles of bad road I would pave you with my slobbering tongue. he he he

Anonymous: I’m impressed with this juvenile banter and can’t wait to hear you, Greg solve the energy crisis.

Greg: If I could solve the energy crisis, I would roll over and scratch my own a$$.

Anonymous: Thank you for enlightening us Greg.

Greg: Why does my nose always look like I just pulled it out of Levy’s ass? You snarky, creepy, poo poo, cootie, cruddie, person! If you were a taco salad, I would eat your salmonella. he he he

Even though i think that adopting a pet from a local animal shelter is a good idea, i would much rather show my love for animals by either feeding some pet birds in the backyard of my home, or maybe if some across some stray cats, i always try and leave a plate of my leftovers. Just in case they may become hungry. But i would never pet or touch them, because you dont know what kind of diseases they may carry.

Shelter animals make great pets, but it’s true that you do need to get them checked out by a Vet.
I have two cats right now, both were abandoned kittens and they are just adorable.
It’s such a shame that more people won’t take responsibility for their pets.

I watch F&F every morning and I would love for you people to do a segment on cruelty to animals. Here in Memphis, TN last week, two “pieces of garbage” set a 12 week puppy on fire and were arrested thanks to the watchful and caring eyes of some neighbors; the community has come together and were able to show up in numbers in court and one of the creeps’ bond was increased due to people speaking up. These two “nothings” already have rap sheets, but what scares me is that if people remember Jeffery Dahmer started out the same way, what’s next for these two? They may be heading down the same path. Please check your fox affiliate here in Memphis for the story. Just wanted to bring some attention to the poor animals who cannot speak. There is a movement here in Memphis to stop such horrible things happening to innocent animals and I would like to see this go nationwide to have our laws changed for more harsh punishment to those who inflict such suffering to poor animals.

Thanks for listening.

Makes me sad to hear of all these animals being abandoned. I have lived on a fixed income since my divorce a number of years ago and selling my home. Every move I have made has been centered around my children and pets, meaning which place would be in the area of my kids school and accept our animals. Wasn’t always financially the best or easy and still is still the case. But I would never abandoned our pets though it would have been much easier for me econmicaly and not having to worry about additional expenses plus the extra work they require. Pets give you such an unconditional love, especially dogs. I feel it is very selfish on peoples parts to do this. These animals didn’t ask to be put in these peoples homes. It is very sad that this is happening today.

I find it commendable that so many people have come forward to help Prince Chunk. Helping animals in distress is very important. However, I have not heard anything, anywhere, on any media level to address the plight of the person who was forclosed upon. Why did this happen, where is that person now, is that person getting any assistance? Who is more important? The human or the cat?
