Alisyn in the Greenroom

Working Mom

Thought you all might like to read a very nice article (thank you Working Mother!) about me attempting to balance career and family.   They left out some of the more raw details of my day like how for the past two nights I waited a couple minutes too long before putting a diaper on my son after his bath and, well, let’s just say, he then needed a second bath as did our hallway floor.  Welcome to my chaos.

Alisyn, you are Superwoman.

That is a nice article and it is amazing how well you handle such a tough balancing act between family and career. I’m wore out and all I did was read the article! :lol

Alisyn you are truly an amazing woman!

Comment by Malone

Anyone else have to take a nap half way thru the article because just reading about Alisyn’s day made them tired? At least my dreams were of Alisyn hosting F&F all by herself so she wasn’t being interrupted or talked over. :)

Good Morning Alisyn,
wow you work a lot of hours 11-12 it looks like,
I work about same, its a long day,
and your daughters name Francesca,
thats my mom name, and three of my neices are Francesca’s
love that name, and if I had a girl, I would name her after my mom.

Very nice story ! I always wondered waht kind of schedule you were on each day. Sounds totally exhausting to me !

My thoughts would be – spend as much time as possible with your children when they are small because they don’t stay that way very long.

Congratulations on such a great career and thanks for making our lives brighter each day.

Ali,
I can relate a little. I have twin daughters that kept my wife and I busy when they were little. They are sixteen now, which introduces a whole new set trials and worries. We have legal custody of another young lady who is sixteen also, so in essence we have triplets.
Enjoy your kids as they are growing up, you won’t believe how quickly the time will go by.

You really make my day in the morning. You are so beautiful and so smart. I hate to see you move to the weekends. Saturday is my only day to sleep in and I have to be at church at 7:45 on Sundays so I guess I’ll have to get the recorder set to tape the weekend shows.

Love ya,
John

Very nice story! Your children are adorable. I have worked similar hours for the past 20 years. I try to use the same motto in life with work and family as Fox News, “Fair and Balanced”. Sounds like you do the same. Keep up the good work.

Alisyn, oops I forgot one,
theirs four of my neices named Francesca’s,
and one is my God Daughter.

Alisyn,

I just read the article about your life, “Off Camera” You are an amazing woman…It is so good to read about your passion for your job. I appriciate all your efforts as a dedicated viewer. Keep up the good work

We are so lucky to have you on Fox and Friends as often as we do. The proof is in the ratings. I know they are up every day you are on the show.

Dear Miss Ali
With my five children now 27 (married and two of his own), 21, 19, 17, and 16, I’m so blessed to be retired and able to spend as many moments with them as possible. I too was a working mother – and it’s so wonderful to be able to be at home with them during these years.

Every stage my children went through I thought it wouldn’t get any better than this, as they learn, walk, talk … but it does! It just keeps getting better and better. You are years away from the grandma stage but that love just multiplies!

Hang in there – sleep when you can, dust later, and hug often it all goes too fast. As the song says – you’re gona miss this.

Life is good – love you on the show – Yaya

Those of us thta have been here for some time know what kind of schedule you keep Ms. A;isyn. And not many could keep that up and still be as friendly and charming as you always manage to be.

One of many reasons I have so much respect for you.

But I can promise that as teh kids get a bit older the demands change, but it does get a bit easier.

Have a great day.

Alisyn said, “for the past two nights I waited a couple minutes too long before putting a diaper on my son after his bath and, well, let’s just say, he then needed a second bath as did our hallway floor.”

Alisyn, clearly you are living the glamourous life! What bothers me is not that it happened the first time, but that it happened a second night. You don’t strike me as a slow learner so I can only surmise you let it happen the second time for the commical effect. LOL
Anyone want to lay odds if Alisyn waits on the diaper for a 3rd nite in a row? ;)

Comment by Scott

Wow, out at 3pm. I kind of figured they let you out by noon since you get in so early. Keep up the good work, we all love you.

Excellent article. I agree with DogOnC. You are Superwoman. In fact, all working moms are. I second Danny: keep up the good work.
See you again Friday morning.

Kudos! Great article and there is never a morning that Alisyn is not smiling! I commend both her and her husband for how they keep everything pieced together so well. Keep up the good work…I’m an excited viewer of the show every morning!

That is a very nice and informative article. Its really amazing how you balance a busy career and still manage to fit on some quality family time.

You are the face of Fox and Friends. I couldnt imagine the show without you, and i am sure everyone here can say the same thing.

Have a great day.

I know this has nothing to do with today’s topic, but I just saw Kelly Wright on The FBI Files as an actor…..awesome job…please pass it on…. Thank You

Did you all hear about that earthquake in CA, it apparently caused buildings to sway and even triggered some precautionary evacuations. If there is any bloggers from CA, i sure hope they are just fine.

Also did you all hear about that mother who reportedly put her nine-month-old daughter into an aquarium filled with water after she was unable to stop the baby from crying. It happened to Australia. That is really cruel and inhumane.

Actually, if you took the time to read things, you would find that it was Marshall that first posted the link.

Ms. Alisyn merely posted it again in a different topic. I think les self-serving than sharing with her fans.

you’ve got to get better.
In the early morn, you were talking presidential polls — one with Obama leading and one with McCain leading based on registered voters/likely voters.
You then took the position that likely voters should be the poll that matters.
You are better than that.
The national polls are irrelevand and you know it. Yet, you failed to point out during a 7-minute discussion that popular vote in the presidential race means nothing … just ask President Gore. Fact is, there are 50 separate races and the overall presidential national preference is MEANINGLESS. If Obama leads in Illinois by 40 percentage points and McCain leads in 10 states by 3 percentage points, Obama has the popular-vote edge, but McCain has the lead in electoral votes. You know that is all that matters, yet you refused on the air to discuss it. It’s the battleground states stupid. Stop acting like a barbie doll up there on the sofa and start acting like you have a clue. Talk about leads in battleground states like Missouri and Iowa and Virginia and Michigan and Colorado and New Mexico. That’s meaningful discussion. Your 7 minutes devoted to Gallop national polls is a waste of time and an insult to my intelligence.

the article is an amazing tribute to someone who has “paid their dues” so to speak. I enjoy getting up in the morning and watch you and the team banter back and forth. Sometimes I even catch myself talking back to the TV a comment or two. So you have engaged me in the process.

Thanks for the effort you and your family have put into being a part of my life on a daily basis.

Fox News Channel was once again the top rated cable channel during July 2008, in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo. FNC also had 14 out of the top 15 programs in cable news in Total Viewers, and eight out of the top 11 in the demo.

In prime time (8pm-11pmET), FNC averaged more viewers than other networks combined.

On the Record with Greta Van Susteren regained the lead in the demo, while winning in Total Viewers for the 75th consecutive month.

Fox & Friends (6-9amET) and America’s Newsroom (9-11amET) had double-digit gains in Total Viewers compared to last July.

Congrats to my favorite cable news station!

good to hear Alisyn is moving to weekends and will have more time for her children. they desrve to see her more than we do

Good morning. Great article. As a fellow working mother, I loved it. My husband is a district fire chief with 24-hr shifts so some days he’s not at home at all. And my job sometimes requires long hours (i work with Rolfe McCollister, a well reknowned business publisher and deeply involved in politics: Gov. Jindal’s Transition Chair, and we just met with Newt Gingrich on a project last week, etc.) It can definitely get interesting trying to balance our schedules with raising children. Like everyone, we try to keep our priorities straight.

On another note, I’m thrilled for you that you’ll be getting more sleep but I am so disappointed that you will no longer be on Fox and Friends First Editiion from 5am-6am CST. I watch it every week day morning. I get up at 5am and am out of the house a little after 6am headed to work. I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed you on the show. It’s just not the same without you.

Have a great day,
Tara Jeanise

Alisyn,

My wife and I have 6 kids between us ranging from 2 months to 18. I am in the military and travel a lot with my job and now I am getting ready to deploy.

We feel ya for the kids and how hectic it can be. The reward is watching the kids grow and learn.

I have also been rescued by my wife from what I like to call “erratic poo incidents”. Like when it happens in the tub, or some leaks from the diaper.

Here I am a big, bad Army guy, and I gag when I smell a poopy diaper and get rescued by my wife!

Keep up the good work. I hope to see you more on the weekends.

Jim

JUST READING THROUGH SOME OF THE COMMENTS ABOUT YOUR CHANGE OF JOB AND YOUR LIFE SCHEDULE–NOTICE THAT THERE’S ALWAYS SOME JAMOKES THAT CALL IT SELF SERVING OR WHINING–THESE PEOPLE ARE CLEARLY NOT PARENTS AND THEIR COMMENTS ARE CRITICAL BECAUSE THEY ARE FRANKLY INSENSITIVE TO THE DEMANDS OF PARENTHOOD VS. JOBS, AND ARE NOT LIKELY PARENTS THEMSELVES.
PEOPLE WHO FIND IT IN THEMSELVES TO CRITICIZE THOSE OF US WHO HAVE MAINTAINED EQUALLY DEMANDING SCHEDULES AND LIFESTYLES ARE SMALL MINDED, LITTLE PEOPLE.
LITTLE PEOPLE DON’T COUNT. THEIR OPINION IS TAINTED TO SHOW HOW NARROW MINDED THEY ARE, BECAUSE THEY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO MAINTAIN JOB AND HOME AND FAMILY–A WAY OF LIFE FOR MANY MANY PEOPLE, MYSELF INCLUDED. WE ARE IN THE MAJORITY. SMALL MINDED PEOPLE DON’T HELP SOLVE PROBLEMS. THEY ADD TO THE PROBLEMS.
I PERSONALLY WISH THE ECONOMY WOULD BE SUCH THAT ONLY ONE OF US HAD TO WORK, BUT IT IS NOT THE CASE. I WORK, JUST LIKE YOU, AND MAINTAIN A FAMILY, JUST LIKE YOU, PERHAPS NOT ON THE SAME LEVEL OF FAME AS YOU, BUT STILL THE SAME LIFE PROBLEMS. IT IS NO PICNIC, AND VERY STRESSFUL, JUST THE SAME. KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU DO, AS YOU ARE SPECIAL IN YOUR TALENT. LIFE, HOWEVER, KEEPS US ALL THE SAME. YOU’RE DOING FINE—V.ANDREWSKI

“Isn’t this a tad self-serving? ”

Besides,self-serving,which is a near-flawless analysis of this entire thread, there is no greater turn-off/buzzkill,than to hear a beautiful woman enumerate her motherly duties in such excruciating detail. This article and thread alone dulls much of the sheen that many of us foolishly held Alisyn in,which is a very sad thing. And,now, instead of the hot,fun babe that many of us adored,we are left with the image of a very tired, overworked Alisyn changing diapers and struggling to get 3 hours of sleep a night. Thanks for the reality check Alisyn, but some of us had alot more fun pretending you were someone else.

Luis–
as a reply to calling me dumb for standing up for working parents—I made my statement in support of everyone who has gone through raising kids and holding down jobs. you could not see it any further than to call me dumb— likely you were not in the position that some of us have been in, and perhaps you had a wife and family to take up the slack where you fell down and couldn’t get it done.
I will stand on my statement, and that you are as insensitive, or maybe even MORE insensitive than the childless ones. Someone who diminishes another’s efforts as easily as you do supports my case of being a small minded person, and as such, you don’t count—-v

Morning Allison
I just caught that Toby Keith was on and If you could tell him THANK YOU I lost a dear friend to Prostrate Cancer in Sept. 2005. He was a friend of my parents when I was a teenager. He was known by his statement of “I’m not as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.” Shortly after Randy passed away Toby’s song came out. Now whenever that song comes on I have a verbal memorial to one of the sweetest men who ever walked this earth. Just tell him (Tolby) thanks. My memories of Randy live on in that song. Have a wonderful weekend.
