I honestly do not know Alisyn…while I have made my share of mistakes they have been mine, I had a good life, lots of friends, a family that loves me, In the end the only thing I think I would change Alisyn is me. I would try to be a better person.

Good morning… my first time in here.

I have heard the polar (magnetic) swap theory, and that apparently has happened in the distant past before, so it’s not so out there.

The calendar thing seemed to my brief and incomplete investigation to be more of an end of a cycle rather than end of the world, and like our own year 2000 computer problems, the Mayans may have just figured someone else would calculate more later on.

I have also heard of the Earth and the rest of our solar system moving across the galactic ecliptic, the plane through the center of the galaxy and roughly in the center of all of the ‘arms’ of said galaxy. By itself that had some potential mysterious effects, supposedly, or, there is another theory that our galactic center is active in the radio or other EM range similar to galaxies we can see elsewhere with great streams of energy spreading out for thousands of light years. The theory I saw stated that we would have to deal with one of those ‘beams’, which, if true, would be somewhat destructive. Thing is, I have only seen that sort of thing emanating from the ‘poles’ of a galaxy elsewhere, perpendicular to the galactic plane.

To actually answer your question… I don’t think it will happen, or it won’t be from any of the above mentioned sources, if it does. My life is balanced between ups and downs and I don’t think I’ll change it on account of potential world end chatter. If one wants to improve their take on (and attitude about) life, there is already good advice: dance like no one’s watching, sing like you’re in the shower, love like THERE’S NO TOMORROW… something like that. The world might not end in 4 years, two days, 100,000 years, whatever. But for some, THEIR world ends abruptly in an accident, sudden health issue, etc.

Well, putting a positive spin on the “End of the World,” we would not have to listen to “celebrity divorce” stories ad nauseum, and focus on what is truly important, like getting our econocmy back on track, reducing the national debt, concentrating on issues here at home like homelessness, poverty and family values……………

You look beautiful in red today..we do love the judge, so am very glad to see him still on. Must obama for work, however, the 401k shouldn’t be tapped. It is there for retirement, and if allowed to be just used, at impulse, we are in a lot of trouble. One can access these funds IF they NEED them…other wise, of course, it should be left completely alone, and guarded as well…the obvious, of course, one should be totally INFORMED about their 401k, i.e. what it is, and how it works for them.

The first thing I want to do on that infamous day in 2012 is report live with Geraldo Revera. (I figure it’s going to be like the Al Capone vault. You’re a crazy SOB Geraldo but I still love ya!) There isn’t much I would change in my life. Like everyone I go through the ying and yang of life trying to balance the positive witht he negative.

I put little stock in what is said by those who say they can predict the end of the world. My Bible says “not even the angels in heaven know the hour”. Besides, we live moment to moment anyway. The best I can say is to live your life as if it’s your last moment. Then, you’ll have no regrets. But–that’s harder to do than to say.

Last week I said that the Mike from Air American was an idiot. I now must apologize to idiots everywhere. That guy is so below idiot that it’s unreal. Thanks to Doocy for wrapping him up short when he got on McCain about his temper. I can tolerate many of the Democrat pundits; but that guy makes me so angry that I may throw something heavy at my tv. Now, now–I must settle down and control my temper. It’s not good for my blood pressure to be in the danger zone so early in the morning.

If I knew the world was going to end in 4yrs I would like to travel and see some of the exotic and historical places on the Earth. The natural beauty that this planet has to offer.
I certainly would want to visit with friends that live far away.

But all of that would require leaving family behind and as others said, family is the most important.

Of course I am still waiting for Y2K to end the world? It will happen!! It is just running a little late. LOL

Maybe I should spend that four years building a ‘way back machine’ then I could go back in time and do all the things I would like too. (Like go to dinner with Alisyn before she met her husband. )

Well if the end of the world is coming in 4 years then I guess NASA can send out a marker or a plutonium powered beacon or something like a Voyager space craft with all of man kinds history on it to let aliens from other worlds know that we were once here.

First of all, different people and groups have been predicting apocalypse almost since the dawn of creation. We are told in scripture that no man knows the day or the hour.

But arguendo; If I knew for sure that the end were coming in 2012, the only thing I do differently is that I would take my retirement fund and spend it in ways that would benefit as many people as I possibly could. In addition to giving to charities, I would spend some of the funds in ways that would allow me to build a closer relationship with my family and friends. Not from the view of buying the relationship, but rather enabling a closer relationship such as planning a vacation with them. And if I knew that, I would not tell anyone that I knew.

So we don’t have to worry about getting out of debt, our health, our Kid’s debt and health, Job’s, Iran, Iraq, Obama, the Weather, what anyone else thinks about anything, Gas prices, redecorating, Mowing the grass, being fat or skinny, our hair ETC.
So I guess we get to enjoy life for the rest of our time, Is that not what we were supposed to do anyway?

I am a Christian so I only go by what the bible says about the end of this age. We are in the sixth dispensation of time since the beginning of creation with the climaxing of this age resulting in the return of “instead of Christ” anti Christ and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Yashewa the Christ coming to this earth to set up a 1,000 year reign of teaching before the White Throne judgment. This earth will be here for all of eternity as the bible tells us in Revelation that the full God head will be bring his throne here to earth, so wherever God is that is where heaven will be. The rudiments or all evil will be burned up with fire as our God is a consuming fire (Heb. 12:29). The false Christ or anti Christ comes here to this earth before our Lord to deceive the whole world and its religious system that he is the true Messiah coming to set-up a world wide revival. All those that have not the seal of Gods truth in their brain or forehead will believe that he is the true Messiah and will worship him from there hearts. He appears at the 6th seal, 6th trump, and 6th vial (666) our Lord appears at the 7th seal, 7th trump, and 7th vial. The number seven is spiritual completeness. The war of Armageddon and Hamengog occur at the 7th trump, the war of Armageddon is to cleanse Jerusalem the last time because the false Christ stands in Jerusalem claiming to be God which is an abomination to our Father. The war of Hamengog is agains IRAN & RUSSIA and its allies that come against US & Canada which is the House of Israel (10 tribes) but our Father reigns hail stones down that weigh up to 180 lbs. so the US & Canada do not have to lift one weapon against them. The nation of Israel that is in their homeland today is the two tribes of Judah. In Ezekial 37: 16-17 it says that at the end of this age or dispensation of time that the two houses of Israel will again become one stick.
Eze 37:16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and [for] all the house of Israel his companions:
Eze 37:17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

This earth will be here for all eternity so we need not waste our time worrying about the coming Apocalypse, what they need to worry about is their soul and if they have accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. I John 1:9, If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Since people are basically biblical illiterate today they are not aware of biblical prophesies. WAKE UP AMERICA!!

If you’re going to miss items over people and relationships, 4 yrs won’t help you unless you see the light before then.
I can’t tell you that I believe in this “end of the world” scare, but I put my faith and life/soul into Gods hands at all times.
Man has been predicting the end through every era. We can’t even correctly predict earthquakes, tornados, or other natural disasters but we’re to believe all of the sudden that although they can’t get this other stuff right, they’ve successfully pinned down the end of time! HOGWASH!
I’m not afraid of death, I’m afraid of wasting any valuable time thinking about the inevitable, death.
Don’t worry so much about 4 yrs from now, keep in mind that: Today is a gift and tomorrow is promised to no-one!

2012 won’t be the end of the world. The Bible tells us that it will have to last at least 1007 years. If Christ came at the rapture today, that would begin the tribulation for 7 years. Then Christ comes back to earth and sets up His kingdom for 1000 years. After that the earth is distroyed and we get a new heavens & earth.
Those things that are mentioned might happen in the tribulation, for tragic things happen to the earth & people during those 7 years.
Don’t worry about it, just be ready. Trust Christ alone for your salvation.
He is able to forgive your sins and give that gift of eternal life!

True story …. I had a friend years ago (we’ll call her Millie so she remains anonymous). During the many years I knew Millie, I never heard her say a bad word about anybody or anything. Sweet, loving, accepting, and forgiving. Goodness, the dear woman was a saint.

On the day of her funeral, her lawyer returned to his office and removed a large envelope from the safe. I personally dont think thw world is going to end, but with all the chaos happening around the world, not to mention we live in a post 9/11 world. I think its safe to say the world isnt as peaceful as it used to be. But you hear about these Apocalyptic theories a lot, it reminds me of those Weekly World News publications.

I remember when Y2K was getting closer, everybody was so worried that entire cities would be left in the dark, not to mention computers were going to go haywire. But look, we pulled through it just fine.

But if the world were able to end, i would probably live life to the fullest. Cherish each and every day that you have with your friends and family. Gain enough knowledge and wisdom so you will be better of in the future.

I would also do every aspirations known to man. Maybe travel the world, go bungee jumping, go on a cruise ship, etc.

It would be like that movie with Jack Nicholson, “The Bucket List”.

A great movie, that teaches us that you are never too old or young to chase your dreams.

Well, way back in the 990s they were predicting that the world would end in 1000, so this isn’t nowhere near new. I don’t think anyone would predict what would happen in the year 10,000.

I did wake in the middle of the night and caught a little of Red Eye. As always, Patti was lookin’ good! When will Alisyn be back on to reveal more *bleeps*?

Hmmm, what would I do differently if the world ended in 2012 per the Mayans and, of course, the end of the Nostradomus quatrains? Since I don’t really know what would cause the end of the world as I know it, I guess I wouldn’t prepare for it in any manner differently than I do when I go to bed at night and wake up the next morning. I’ll keep crossing streets, drinking water, eating that which I consider to be food, and doing my daily routine until the earth shattering event were to happen.

What else could I do? It’s not like planning for an event of nature. How could I plan for an earth shatterng catastrophe? I guess I’ll just have to take my chances. I’m sure I’ll welcome in the 2012 new year the same as I did for the year 2000.

2012 by whose calculation? It would seem that 2012 would not exist as a date for the Egyptian and Mayan cultures as they were before the birth of Christ. How could they have an AD year?

I suspect Alisyn won’t be back on Red Eye until August. She is bound to take some vacation time and that often is in July for a couple of weeks as she finds a beach to enjoy and unwind on.

I know I for one am looking forward to Alisyn returning on Red Eye. I hear Patti Ann will be on Red Eye again soon, maybe next week even.

In response to the Ali’s comments about the prophesy of the world ending in 2012, why get hysterical and crazy and change your lifestyle. Live each day as the best kind of person you can be to your loved ones, others, and to yourself. Believe in God’s Will and hope, strength, and courage will be your steadying support. The Lord’s prayer says “Thy Will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven”. Be a good citizen, be the best kind of person you can be to yourself and to others. Pope John said “wait for the Lord with: moral courage; and, physical courage; and, stout heartedness; and, without fear. To be not afraid”. That’s what I think we should all do!

To say that anyone is immune from a disaster or global cataclysm is foolish. Look what happened to normal Americans with Katrina and the Midwest floods, let alone other global disasters. There is nothing wrong with being ready for the unthinkable. Would I move to a mountain cave? No. Would I make sure I am able to care for my family in a disaster? Yes. Be smart…be ready.

Heck, I’m still waiting on the ice age that in the 70’s as a high school student I was told would come by the end of the century and we would all freeze to death. Father God knows when the end times are. That’s good enough for me. Knowing Him and walking my days with His guidance, love and protection are how I live now and He will keep me all the way Home. This world is not my home. I’m a 90 year old, so anxious to move on.

Nostradamas, the Bible codes and some Native American tribes also believed that 2012 is the end of the world. The end as we know it now, at least. There isn’t much we can do to stop it if it’s some major natural cataclysm, except prepare to survive, if possible. Our ancestors have gone through horrible things and we can too.

I’m sorry I didn’t make it to this thread until now, too. I remember when I was in 7th grade, there was discussion among some students (not me) that the world would be coming to an end at some such time on some such day. This was in 1994. There will always be someone or some group predicting the end of the world will come at a given time or in a given year, and it’ll always end up wrong.
Hopefully, I haven’t jinxed the world by saying that.

Dog, For old guys like me 2012 might be the second coming. You know you’re getting old when the alarm clock goes off before you do.

I don’t believe we can possibly know for certain when the world will come to an end. The Bible does offer us certain “signs” that we’re to look for. In 1 Thessalonians 5:2 we’re told, “for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” Mathew25:13 says,
“Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh”. I believe that God’s Word has offered us enough information so that we can be prepared, yet certainly not enough information for us to become arrogant.
So whether it happens in 2012 or not, this is truly something that we should not dwell upon. In the grand scheme of things our lives here on earth are basically done and over with in a blink of an eye, when compared to the dawn of the world…and the creation and mankind. Simply speaking, our focus should be on living each day we’re given as though it may be our last. It’s easy to fall into living a life of complacency…but imagine all the good that could be done if we each welcomed, appreciated and lived each and every day, like there may be no tomorrow.

VCR’s arent really out of style. They come in handy when a person wants to record thier favorite programs and dont want to take the trouble of setting up some other bulky equipment.

I am sure a lot of people on this blog still have their VCRs. Take Marshall, Mike Malone, Sean, Gini, and others. Ask them and i am sure they will tell you the same thing.

I have heard a similar story about a famous person who waited until he passed away until saying all kinds of nasty stuff to his friends and peers. Apparently that was what happened when the late great Gerald Ford passed away.

I really like that Coast to Coast AM radio show. Its on the local FoxNews Radio affliate where i live. The show was much better when Art Bell used to be a regular host, now he only does it on the weekend from the Phillipines.

Three things about those sunspots:

1. They are a pest.

2. They do seem to be more frequent.

3. They can make you miss pieces of your soap opera.

I really like canned foods, they come in handy whenever there is an emergency. I even heard its a whole lot healthier than fresh foods, because most of the nutrients are already stored inside, when its being packaged.

If the world ends on Dec 21st,2012 then at that point it will be too late to do anything different…doing something different would have prevented the End. You all just dont get it. You wasted your time with selfish worldly persuits and didnt care about the end then so…why now?

ALL of this information came out in the early 90’s…in a book called FINGERPRINTS OF THE GODS by Graham Hancock.

It is a great book that outlines the beliefs of the polar shift. Why people are just now getting around to looking into it is beyond me.

There are many archeologists and other scientists that say that G. Hancock is a phoney and a charlatan, but that might just be because he was published, and they weren’t.

If I knew that in 4 years the world would really truly end for human existence, I think I would try to find a way to survive whatever catastrophe might happen. Dig a deep hole, build a floating device, etc.

All of our days are numbered anyway, disaster or no disaster. We just have no idea when. We aren’t immortal.

When thinking about the “end of the world” I always notice the many massive earthquakes, war and all the talk and threat of war also. Saber rattling in the Middle East with Iran and Israel makes me particularly nervous.

It’s not what I’d do but rather what I would eat. There would be no food off limits. My daily Apocalypse menu for the next four years would include cannoli, spumoni, cherries jubilee, baked ziti, lasagna, fried dough, funnel cakes, sausage & peppers, cheese ravioli, warm Italian bread & butter, veal cutlets, trans fat fried onion rings (the real kind) and a Jaimocha milk shake machine installed in my kitchen. I may go out as a blimp but I’ll be a happy blimp!
