Imus Redux?
Imus is in the news this morning for making a comment that many people are decrying as racist. In talking about Dallas Cowboy’s player Adam “Pacman” Jones multiple arrests, Imus asked what color he was. When told, “African American,” Imus said “Well, there you go. Now we know.” Imus says his comment is being misinterpreted. Do you give Imus the benefit of the doubt? Or does this comment again reveal his true nature?

Good Morning to ALISYN!
Imus – No big deal. I understood what he meant right off the bat. Only those with an agenda could twist that into something nefarious. If stereotyping is the issue, we should remember the little speech made on billionaires row in San Francisco by a presumptive presidential candidate! Sharpton is a chit stirrer and I hope the IRS kicks in his door!
Naked Cowboy – That boy needs to get a pair of pants!
God Lucky – I think his parents must have been dyslexic!
Obama’s Seal – Bad taste to the max and probably illegal! Will we be seeing his profile on the dollar bills that will be disappearing from our pockets?
good morning alisyn
you think he would have learned his lesson before
thanks for your smiling face and your bubbly personality
i so enjoy the show especially when you are hosting
Thank you Pat! I so enjoy the show, especially when you’re watching.
Why does every comment offend someone? Why can’t people grow up and quit being such babies and grow up.
Love the show – watch it all the time.
Ronnie
good morning marshall
Good Morning Ms. Alisyn,
I think it reveals what most people already knew. Imus is an idiot. That after the last ballyhoo got him fired he isn’t smart enough to stay away from such charged topics with the accompanying rhetoric.
You know I don’t normally speak ill of someone, but this guy really needs a new job, out of the public eye.
Thanks again for yesterday. You are truly a sweetheart.
Have a great day.
chas
I am afraid like Larry King his days as a talk host may be coming to an end. After the last fiasco with the women’s basketball team. Imus should know better than to comment on the story at all. Like many older Americans the filter Imus uses to keep his private thoughts or words from coming out his mouths has begun to lose its effectiveness.
Good Morning Alisyn…what is good shoe brand for a 1year old
I like Ecco. I forget the other brands. Give me a minute.
morning chas thanks for the picture
Morning Pat. NP
Morning Marshall.
I’d like to think he’s learned his lesson. I would give him a chance. I did see on ESPN News where they mentioned he works for WABC in New York,” Which is not affliated with ABC or ESPN” Seems they want to make it clear Imus is not part of their network.
Mobile, Alabama is not very happy with the game being played by Boeing and its political henchmen, concerning the Air Force’s tanker project. Northrop-Grumman clearly put forth a better aircraft at a better cost, yet Boeing has spent millions of dollars to sway public opinion and undermine the public bidding process. Boeing does not want to relinquish its monopolistic stronghold on the aeronautical industry in this country, so it has been erroneously waving an American flag and insinuating Alabama is not a part of the United States of America.
A Mobile restarunteur decided to make a visual statement on a very large billboard.

Morning Pat and Chas!
Time for me to hit the road………
Hey Alisyn,
Imus is in idiot! He’s also about the most boring person I’ve ever heard. Please, someone…..take him off the air!
Wanna know how I really feel?
Pat
Pat in Mn,
Looks like we could have posted together…lol
Can you tell us how you really feel without using any of Carlin’s 7 words?…lol
chas
Good morning Alysin,
Would have been back sooner, however, grandpa got up and was hungry! I have to go to work, and did fix himself some breakfast, so my blogging time is done for now, much to my sorrow
And y’all will have fun, again, without me.
You look lovely, as always, Alysin. Good morning Audra, and Gretchen is back…so we are alllllllllll smiling big big. (I do love “the judge”..good morning! too)
Imus?? Doesn’t Al have anything better to do?? Sort of like Harry and Nancy dontchathink? Busy worrying abt what someone said on the radio, instead of the business of government. It is just too sad, but explains again, why this group has NUMBERS IN THE TOILET still??? Hummm, yes, after pondering this for one millisecond…as that is all the time I have given it…it must be so.
Have fun, and good morning Chas and Marshall and Pogger and Pat and allllllllll of you wonderful Alysin fans and commenters on this most wonderful place to be…lol
Morning Alisyn and Audra….thanks again for yesterday’s post!!!
Imus is a true idiot….I don’t know why he still gets any news coverage at all….why waste time on an idiot?
Wait….maybe he is the joke of the day…if we are allowed to laugh….lol
Hi to Marshall, Chas ans Pat, too.
and Gini!
Good Morning Alisyn,
I still have a hard time believing anyone still listens to Imus in the first place. I can’t see where this comment means anything. It’s like someone saying “that’s some skirt”. Does that mean they can’t stand it or they love it? ( If on you, everyone would have to love it)
What I’m trying to say is after last years comments, who cares what Mr. Imus says. Don’t listen to him at all. There are plenty of good talk shows to listen to.
I am not a fan of Imus, in fact he rubs me raw when I hear him.
The reality is that our constitution allows us to have free speech and if he says something that has a racial undertone, it may not be ethically correct, but he has the right to say it. PERIOD.
So when the media spun up his “nappy-headed-ho” comment, he appologized, but yet he was still condemned.
What about Al Sharpton and the students at Duke? He was ready to burn those WHITE kids at the stake, but when he found out the BLACK accuser was crazy, suddenly, he backed off into the shadows.
Hey Al, where’s your apology to the Duke Students. Have the guts to apologize like Imus did, otherwise, you are no better than he is. Sharpton and Jackson are both so quick to condem white to black racism, but they to think black to white racism is ok.
Maybe Obama should stand on the platform that there is no Black or White in the USA, just AMERICAN. How do you think the voter demographic for Obama would change if he ran with that platform?
I might even vote for him if he preached true equality in our country.
Number 1: Who cares what Imus says?
Number 1: Who cares what Sharpton says?
Number 3: Was that number 2 or number 1?
A waste of air time covering it!
Morning Jimmy.
Morning Gini.
My goodness…he is ONCE again front and center. I picture him like a child throwing a temper tantrum. And having been a preschool teacher, I have seen hundreds of them.
These are done to get attention and it usually works really well. What I used to do was just ignore the whole thing. They are in shock and awe to use a popular phrase. “What??? no one is looking at me or talking to me Let me bring it up another notch or two.” And then walk away.
Perhaps this is a last ditch effort to save his job. I have no idea if he has children or not, but if we had a test to be parents..he would FAIL.
I do not get to see your show until much later in the day on the TIVO. And we TIVO only the very best shows.
I am with Ron-grow up and get over it! If an African American said something about a white man it would be ok! What is African American anyway…Weren’t these people born in AMERICA? Doesn’t that make them AMERICAN? We don’t call the white man a White American or an English or Ireland American or where ever their ancestors came from.
Morning Eileen.
who pays any attention to the idiot imus…even though as a giant fan I love it when anything negative invloves the those sissy a__ cowgirls!!!!!
Al Sharpton to comment on Imus?
the man who said we took Obamas and pastor Wrights racist remarks out of context.
I’m starting not to feel so bad about calling Imus an idiot. Either I started something or it is a widely held view.
chas
Never have been an Imus fan, but this is clearly much ado about nothing……
Shucks! I am going to miss Rick & Bubba! Ask them about Fooslacky’s Chicken Fingers billboard offering The Boeing Company a free meal!!!!!!!!!! lol
That’s right angelo – It wouldn’t be football season if some cowboy wasn’t going to jail….lol… bring back the days of Michael Irvin. You gotta love the cowboys for bringing more entertainment tot he table.
Imus should have been clearer in his meaning. That said, Imus’ comment pales (no pun intended) in comparison to the venom spewed by Rev Wright and Father Phleger (sp?)
I can also say ECCO shoes are GREAT shoes- my dad is the Operational Manager for ECCO in Australia!!
Very good pick Alisyn!!
How can I listen to Imus when I am listen to FoX News. I did hear him on radio once, didn’t like his program.
good morming marshall, jimmy and gini
Al Sharpton to comment on Imus?
the man who said we took Obamas and pastor Wrights racist remarks out of context, who cares what Imus says anyway.
People need to grow up and get over it … It’s way too easy to play the race card and be a “victim” … A real adult would just laugh it off …
I’m honestly surprised that Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson haven’t joined the Mauricia Grant camp in her lawsuit against NASCAR … except for the fact that they’re already getting money from NASCAR … and her claims seem petty & bogus …
Marshall – We’re gonna have to agree to disagree when it comes to the Air Force tanker … But, if you want to take Boeing’s political henchmen (or henchwoman when it comes to the sr senator from WA), you can have them as I’m soooooo tired of them …
Aly – You should’ve reminded me how much SeaTac sucks … I just got back from there and it’s still as horrible as it was in October (the last time I was there) …
Would like the informatio re: Would like to have information from this a.m. show. The Doctors name and the name of his book on the seven different types of bodies. Does he have a contact site or location?
Missed most of his segment, would like to get more info.
Thank you.
Goodmorning, I do think Imus meant no harm, however he shouldnt even have gone there, anything he says about anyone of color will always be used against him now. I agree with Marshall, someone needs to get rid of those “hall monitors”. People do need to get a grip on reality, and put on there big people pants. Thanks Have a good day
Ok, I have a question. I have a new computer here at work. When I try to acces the after the show, show I will get the commercial to run but that’s it. Whas up?
Hi Alisyn,
No, Don Imus shouldn’t have made those comments…..again….. It wasn’t the right thing to say…….. Some people might be offended…..But what is happening to our Freedom of Speech? Why can’t we speak our mind…right or wrong….polite or rude….? I’m tired of the controlling of what we say ….and even do… through the avenue of being Politically Correct. Who is doing all this monitoring…..? Enough already!
…..By the way…..you have a cozy little Greenroom here….
Imus meant NOTHING by what he said.
Why does Fox and other networks continue to give Al Sharpton a forum? I am sick to death of that man! He’s an absolute CROOK who gets money out of big corporations – like hush money. He is a disgusting, thieving, race-baiter.
If I see him on TV, I turn the channel just that quick.
HOWDY!!!
Why does Fox continue toigive air time to Al Sharpton? Remember Tawana Brawley? Or, how Sharpton broke speed records getting to N Carolina to stir thing up in the Duke rape fiasco? The only reason to have him on to discuss who is a racist is because it takes one to know one.
Al Sharpton owes NC an apology for his comments concerning his rush to judgement during the Duke rape case….get over it, and grow up. Imus has a right to say what he wants. Freedom of speech…okay for the rappers to ramble on. If you don’t loke him, just don’t listen. I chose not to listen to idiots like Wright and Flager.
tiamatsrevenge – Yes we will have to STRONGLY agree to disagree about the tanker deal! You must live in Washington or Kansas.
It really gets under my skin when these Boeing people start waving the American flag in an effort to taint the legitimacy of this tanker contract!
Boeing outsources to China, Japan, Italy and Mexico on a large scale, but they have the gall to claim the Northrop-Grumman aircraft is French! Maybe it is merely a matter of semantics. Instead of forming a partnership with EADS maybe NG should have just called them a sub-contractor like Boeing does when it moves good jobs out of this country.
Alisyn,,, looking at Fox News on my internet & read an article about “Faith”… some people think there’s more ways to Heaven than “their” religion….. I have News for those people….. “THERE’S ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN & THAT IS THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS & CALLING UPON HIM TO SAVE THEIR SOULS,
IN ROMANS 10:13, IT TELLS US:”FOR WHOSOEVER[MEANING US, OUR NAME PUT IN THE, “WHOSOEVER”
THAT CALLS UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD, SHALL BE SAVED”… THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN..
THAT’S WHY JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS FOR ALL OF US….. RELIGION HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT,,
IT’S ONLY “BY FAITH IN HIS PRECIOUS HOLY NAME!”
Just had to write & let others know their churches or religion just doesn’t do it.. only BY FAITH THROUGH OUR LORD & SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST….DOESN’T MATTER WHAT CHURCH THEY GO TO!
Loretta Layne
South Pittsburg,Tn
Ahhh Allis sunshine
Had it been a white American with a history like his. The same comment would have been applicable. Sad but true, some people never learn.
I am so tired of trying to be “politically correct” because we might offend someone. How come years ago everyone got along? You spoke your mind and no one was offended. Imus has been out spoken for years – he hasn’t changed so why all of the uproar???? Don’t need Al Sharpton and the likes making much ado about nothing.
I THINK IT IS A SHAME THAT FOX NEWS GIVE CREDABILITY TO AL SHARPTON. AS A LOYAL VIEWER I’M BECOMING MORE AND MORE TURNED OFF TO 24 HOUR NEWS AS IT HAS BECOME MORE “STAR MAGAZINE ” MAKING NEWS RATHER THAN REPORTING IT!
While I’m not a particular fan of Imus, I have to agree with Jim in TN. All of these “offended” people need to get a grip and go on with their lives. Actually when Sharpton came on, I switched channels and watched Imus. What a great move! They were playing his last interview with George Carlin, who was so funny even though I was almost always offended by his routines.
The AF tanker deal will be a huge boon to Mobile and other areas of the Gulf Coast. Northrup-Grumman already is a huge presence at Ingalls Ship Building in Pascagoula, MS. They are probably one of the largest employers on the MS Gulf Coast. Boeing is wrapping itself in the flag and acting like American workers will be hurt by the deal. Those in the Northwest are against the deal; those in the Southeast are for it. Truth is, NG had a better offer on a better plane.
Truth is Boeing tried to fleece the American taxpayer at the tune of billions and billions of dollars on a tanker lease deal and that landed people in prison. A more transparent procurement system was put in place for the very much needed re-fueling tankers and Boeing brought to the table old technology that was scheduled to go offline, if the Air Force did not give the old clunker new life.
Northrop-Grumman won the competition fair and square. Boeing is fighting that decision tooth and nail, because it does not want the competition growing in the southeastern part of the U.S. They have now completely put the safety and security of our warfighters out of consideration and will push the award of this contract into another administration’s hands.
This whole thing is about as dirty as it gets!
I guess Imus isn’t a racist, but by his explanation he must think the cops are!
He’s a racist, extortionist and an idiot!
Mark
John 14:6 (New International Version)
6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Scripture is extremely clear on this issue. I don’t know how anyone that professes to be a Christian can believe that there is any way to heaven other than through belief and faith in Jesus Christ. If you do, then you are calling Jesus a liar – and how can the Son of God be a liar?
I have to agree with Loretta.
Right on, Wayne and Loretta.
Sal
We are giving Imus just what he wants, unless he does something stupid like this he does not exist to most of us. Also if it was not for things like this Rev Sharpton would have nothing to do. I feel it is a waste of air time when either are on or being talked about. If Rev Sharpton would stay out of a lot of these kind of racial things they would be ignored by most people and be considered ignorance by the speaker.
Good morning, First let me say, I just think your great. I wake up with you and your buddies and enjoy you all so much. About Imus, he needs to think before he opens his mouth. I am tired of him now and thnk I won’t listen to him anymore. Keep up the good work and keep laughing. I try and laugh as much as possible.
Regards
Tonia
Thanks for the support Gwen. I agree with Jennifer too. We are AMERICANS. I know in NYC that 9/11 still hasn’t been forgotten. We were all AMERICANS on that day. But as time passed on, we have forgotton.
I once listened to an argument in a college lecture hall between a student who was black and born in America and a student who was white and born in South Africa. It was many years ago at the beginning of the PC times of “African-Americanism”. The argument was whether or not the white studen, born in Africa but now a citizen of the US, was more African-American than the black student that had never been to Africa, let alone born there.
Quite the Dichotomy <—my college word of the day.
I forgot one other tidbit of information. Living in TN, my wife and I had some personal business dealings with PACMAN to the point where he had our personal cell phone numbers.
He was extremely polite and frankly, very shy around my wife and I.
He even offered my wife a job to help keep his affairs strait (but we have 6 kids and I am in the military so that doesn’t really allow for that kind of job).
After getting to know him, I found that it was the croud he hung around with that created a problem. A kid growing up with nothing, suddenly has millions of dollars, and no education on how to use it.
If you want to solve some of Pacman’s problems he should have seen Dave Ramsey while he was in Nashville and learned some financial and personal responsibility.
imus hasn’t figured out the difference between bad luck and being a dumb ass
Most of us, after being lambasted and hung out to dry would think before we speak. Imus is a sad, ignorant little man that feels for whatever reason he has to draw attention to himself with these comments. He neither cares nor does he want to know how the comments affect certain people. He will keep doing it as long as there is a reaction and he gets press time.
Mr. Goodwin,
If you are permitted downloads you may need to download Windows Media II.
I had that very same problem with my new lap top until I got the MP II.
Good luck and I hope that takes care of your problem.
chas
Mr. Fahy,
re: yesterday. Good to hear she is almost home free. And about the man bag? It’s mostlikey best if we men stick to wallets…lol
My wife is also knitter and a quilter, I might add, so I know the bag thing very well.
chas
No This is just going to far. I understood what he was talking about….No need to get your nickkers in an Knot.
I see nothing wrong with what was said. All the political correctness bull sh*t is just that–BS!
If you do not like what Imus says, tell Imus. We have a choice to listen or not. If I choose not to listen, I am still flooded with his talk via all other media.Just leave him alone. He will eventually wither and die without all his free publicity.
Enjoy you on Fox and Friends. You make a good contribution to the show.
HH
Good Morning All, this is my first post at blogging or whatever you call it.??
1. Imus has what we call here in the midwest I D 10 T Disease. Get it? Tell someone to look it up on WebMD.
2. Both Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do what they do for attention. Why the shows even bother to give them one hint of attention is beyond me. I like the one about why do we call Blacks African-Americans? And we are called Caucasion? Whats that about? First of all they are not mostly black, I think in the crayola box they would be considered brown, tan, etc.
3. Alisyn, you have to be the bestest and most witty person on your show, and Steve Doocy next!!
4. Alisyn, I would love to know your diet and how you maintain your perfect female shape? HOW DO YOU DO IT, especially after having twins and another baby? I want your figure. No wonder men drool over you.
5. Back to the Imus issue, first of all you can’t hardly understand his mumbling words and with so many commercials how does anyone find that show interesting? Beats me? Imus and Larry King both need to take a very long leave of absence, so long that everyone will forget them.
Thanks to all, and I have been watching FNC for over 9 years!!! So long it actually made our rear projection TV have the ticker in the bottom, the FOX LIVE in the corner and the turning Fox box in the lower corner shown on all channels. My husband was p.o.’d to say the least!! HA HA HA HA.
What is it with Americans? Whining everytime a statement is made that seems out of context to their likes. In the big picture, this means nothing, yet it dominates our airwaves today. Is a fact, Blacks are arrested more than Whites, maybe if they listened to Obama and fathered their children, the parents of arrested black children would not be in that situation. Perhaps breaking the law is a cultural thing, listen to Hip Hop, with its kill whitey, sell drugs, disrespect women lyrics and wonder why that is a fact. Young kids are impressionable, when their idols and mentors are endorsing crime it’s not surprising when their arrest records exceed whites. So no matter what context you take Imus’s statements, unfortunatly he was not far off, the fact is, these are words, if you don’t like them, turn the dial!
why did he ask what color the man was. Does he think it makes any difference
I am no fan of Don Imus, as a matter of fact I don’t like him and don’t understand why he even has a show – a very boring man in my opinion but I think this is BS! PacMan Jones or whatever name he wants to be called is nothing more than a rich, pampered, I am above the law athlete and is getting his just dues, now that the so-called Reverened Al Sharpton is involved I know its all about getting the white guy(Imus), Rev. Al is nothing more than a blood/buck sucking opportunist who will take advantage of any situation or person if he can make a buck for himself – PacMan hold onto your wallet and good-bye Imus – again!!!
For crying out loud folks! You all don’t have anything else better to do in your life, except wake up everyday, and think the whole world is against you because of the color of your skin.Is that the only excuse you have for playing the race card. I’m a minority, and I think everybody needs to get a life.By the way,the floods in Iowa. There’s no reports of rapes, looting, homicide,or crys of racism that I know of.Nobody rides for free in this world folks. You have to earn your way through life.If I can do it,so can everyone else.Wake up America!
Imus should be given the benefit of the doubt…he has learned and paid for his previous comment.
lets see, Imus asks about the color of a person, when advised its an Afro-American and he responds “well, there you go”, there is nothing but racism in that statement.
One of your bloggers noted correctly that “you’d thought he’d learned his lesson” but clearly, his mouth is creating an image of him that is not so favorable, warranted in this case.
The worst race in our world is a prejudice one!
The next time you want to bring Al Sharpton on to allow him to point fingers at what every one else is doing wrong, why don’t one of you have the gawl to ask him how it is he can so easily point fingers, but yet he is breaking the law as well as he is not paying his taxes… Sort of like a sin is a sin is a sin..
Point out the fact that he has no room to talk.. if you can’t do it… I will come and be on your show and I will take him to task…
I know you try to be fair and balanced but come on let’s be fair….
Jim Burkhalter
Hey Pat, don’t listen.
SOONERS#1 Heck yeah they are!!!!! BOOMER SOONER……….
Why has it become a sin to ask if a person is black or white. The Liberals are always looking for ways to put down anyone who is asking such questions.Remember, Obama is the one bringing up the race issue. That’s the only way he’ll get some white votes, the ones who feel sorry for him.
I have for many, many years, said, every person should be given an aptitude test, to see just how much they know about their government. To many votes have been cast over a candidates looks, gender, color, and not over his or her experience.
I agree with Jennifer we have become too oversensitive, wait correction some of us have become that way. People are just looking for a reason to jump on anybody.
Again, No big deal. Me thinks the main stream wants Imus’s hide and they will twist anything he says if they can.
First time around, I agreed with his dismissal. This time around is rediculous. I can see however that it is up to interpretation what he meant. Actually, I am bored with Imus and Al Sharpton both.
It is my observation that those who cry “racism” loudest usually have some skeletons in his/her closet. Racism has become a profitable market for many. And then there’s the power that comes with it.
I’ve already seen and heard enough out of Imus and Sharpton for a life time! Why are we supposed to care about these jokers?
Al Sharpton & Jessie Jackson are just as big in rascism as Imus, make no doubt about that.
But Afro-Americans need to be a little more sensitive to the way they refer to others such as:
cracker, honkey, redneck, and many others, thats racism and it also should not be acceptable.
Reverse discrimination is a big problem in our country. What’s is it that Jesus said “let he who is without sin, cast the first stone”, we should all look to live a happy and friendly life but this is what gets me through, all the time:
God grant me the serenity to accept those things I cannot change (julie banderas doesn’t love me)
The courage to change those that I can (I can knock off a few strokes off my golf game)
And the wisdom to know the difference (often, the hardest part of any equation)
Hey Alyson..when are you going to do the escalator trick?? Rev. Al and the rest of the
“politically correct” crowd are far far away in understanding what Don Imus was saying.
An old joke about the guy who sits down at the lunch counter and says “Give me a cup of coffee black”
and ends up accused of racism by the waitress. Gimmie a break!! See you over my morning
coffee tomorrow morning. Jim Parker Brandon, Florida
I am more discusted with sharpton than Imus. If I do no like what Imus says, I turn him off (actually, I never turn him on) But I can not seem to get Sharpton off the tube and I can not believe how many people are totally fooled by Sharpton and his money grabbing tactics.
You’d think at my age (75) I’d check my spelling..sorry Alisyn.
Have you ever talked about George Lopez’s stage show, that is blatantly racist, or Spike Lee’s continuous hate filled racist tirades, or even Barak’s bigotry? Why is any racism directed from others towards whites applauded, Obama disowned the white half of his family. He says he is chritian but i filled with aversion towards the bible and negative comments about scripture.
Why does he not treat the Quoran or book of Surach negatively?
Why hasn’t he spoken out against the Islamic schools he attended that teach small children songs and skits about bombing Israel and America.
Why is his campagne staff so racially stacked?
IMUS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A SHOCK COMMEDIAN! What is Obama’s excuse.
If you look at crime statstics, the facts ARE: Blacks and other minority account for the highest percent of crimes commited in America!!!
Imus should have the same rights to freedom of speech as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have. He said nothing wrong and his remark was not racist. Because of Obama, whites are now even more afraid to open their mouths than ever, and it was bad before. Obama is the worst thing to happen to America in decades.
GIVE IMUS THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. ARE WE STILL AMERICANS WITH OUR CONSTITUTIONAL
RIGHTS OF SPEECH OR HAVE WE LOST EVERYTHING BY A MORANIC MINORITY WHO NEEDS TO
GROW UP?
The Al Sharpton crowd can say anything they please, but when a person of the opposite
color says the truth they get in trouble.
David Roten
Sorry, but I just do not get it ~~~~~~~~~
What a waste of time.
First of all it was the REVEREND Al Sharpton who called attention to this stupidity.
Al Sharpton supposedly a minister as well as a lawyer coached a girl “Tywana Brawley” to commit perjury & lie on the witness stand, …
In 1987 Tywana Brawley a young black girl claimed she was raped by six white men. Under the wing of Sharpton, Maddox, and Mason, and a full-fledged media …
The mgmt at msnbc decided to sell out under pressure of the likes of Al Sharpton(TYWANA BRAWLEY) and Jesse Jackson REMEMBER (HYMIETOWN), but that remark was alright because it came from the mouth of the Right Rreverend Jackson.
This doesn’t interest me at all and it shouldn’t you.
I think people with NO Life should leave him alone and let him talk,he says what he feels and that’s that.
Give Imus the benefit of the doubt………We are still American’s aren’t we with our Constitutional
rights of speech? OR Have we been taken over by the MORONIC MINORITY Socialists who are
always looking for trouble?
I dont think Imus show should be canned once again for these remarks. He was just speaking his opinions, about how that football player got arrested. But it is a fact, a lot of African Americans are more prone to drugs and a life of crime, simply because they are poor, and dont always finish school or get a college degree. If that were to change, it would be a totally different story. I dont think he meant any harm by it. Give the guy a break.
But if you want to talk about Al Sharpton. i think he is making way to big of a deal out of nothing. Throughout his career, he said a ton of controversial comments and remarks, but nobody has bothered to mention about those.
Its just like recently with that Golf Channel reporter making some remarks about Tiger Woods. A lot of ppl didnt think it was offensive, but Al Sharpton was there stir up trouble. to Even Tiger Woods himself and his publicist didnt see the problen with the comments.
Just my thoughts and opinions.
Have statistics shown that most perpetrators of crime are male African American? T or F
Have and do both the Obamas, Rev. Wright, Father Pleger, and other Obama supporters (including some wealthy celebrities) and some African American leaders played and continue to play the “race card” against Anglo-Americans (a/k/a caucasion, ak/a whites, a/k/a “whitey”) at every opportunity and continue to trash white people at every opportunity?
The left wing liberal political machine and their allies, including the left wing liberal media, need to give Imus the benefit of the doubt, back off, and stop trying to use Imus’ harmless remark as a way of “scoring” votes for the Democrats.
God Bless America; God Bless our Troops; God Bless the Hon. Sen. McCain
Give Imus the benefit of the doubt. The left wing media and the left wing political machine needs to stop “churning” this up and back off? Last time I looked – we still have the privilege of “free speech” in this, our country!
Isn’t this the land of the FREE and the brave?
God Bless America! God Bless our Troops! God Bless Hon. Sen. McCain
Brad, your comment is “right on”!
I am getting sick and tired of everyone being so sensitive. I don’t hear outcries when fat people are made fun of or when geeky people are made a fool of. In this politically correct climate you can’t breathe heavy or they will say you are enticing someone. Thia is all being pushed so no one can ask any questions of Barack “Barry” Obama. And I for one am getting fed up with it. I don’t care if your black, white, brown, tan, or purple. If I disagree with your views, I should be allowed to say so without being called a racist! If a black person commits a crime, then sorry but you have to pay for it. End of subject. Grow up people. If you want a perfect world, move to Walgreens.
with that the right of speach, comes the fallout that we’re witnessing. Imus is not alone in thinking the way he does, there are bigots in all races and colors but he did it on a public forum, and that opened him to judgement. It is said that: It is better to keep you mouth shut and let people think you’re stupid than to open it and prove it!
What I will note is that we all may not know in what context did Imus use this phrase. Knowing the media, they like to use soundbites and what was excluded, may result in understanding better what Imus might have been trying to express. I don’t know so I won’t comment further until I’ve seen his entire segment on this issue. Only then, can I make a personal evaluation.
But again, if you’re going to get up on stage, you must watch what you say. Imus is not alone in the “foot in the mouth” catagory. Stupid things are said by famous and everyday people alike, but everyday people don’t get the backlash because its not newsworthy. So if you’re a famous person with the worlds microphone on you, you might want to watch what you say. I believe Imus to be an intelligent individual, but his choice of words and subjects seem to show he too is human and uses poor judgement from time to time.
Any time I see Rev. Jesse Jackson or Rev. Al Sharpton on TV, I immediately change it. They spew nothing but one sided venom in the name of trying to help their people, but they’re just lining their pockets with the exposure they get from all this. I’m sure if I took the time to listen to their un-American rhetoric, I’d find extensive reason for being offended. But they’d only spin it.
Dear Alisyn…sorry for the late post…better late than never.
I think Imus’ comment is tragic. It confirms, for me, that some “White” people think all Black men are violent…sad to say but obviously racist and uninformed.
PacMan Jones has had, at best, a professional career marred by an unfortunate personal life. He, lacking control, has so-called “confirmed” the racial bias existing in the US today. He is obviously a talented athlete that very few people could have been endowed with his tremendous physical ability. Having said that, his actions have stained the gray-matter of intransigent white people.
When are we, as a nation of people fathered by a multitude of immigrants (voluntarily or involuntarily), are going to abandon the idea that one people, or person, is better than the other?
I do not need to defend the contributions Black Americans have made to our great country…in spite of the racism they have endured (and continue to). Just forty-odd years ago, Black Men were peacefully sitting at lunch counters as an act of peaceful civil disobedience because they were forbidden. I know personally of wonderful examples of men who underwent the harshest of treatment while sitting at the lunch counters…they inspire and remind me of how fortunate we are to live in a free country…freedom comes at a price…and as Americans we are all entitled. I do not know if I would be able to demonstrate that much courage and undergo the torment Blacks have in securing freedoms supposedly already guaranteed to them.
I would suggest to remove Mr. Imus from the public airways and sentence him to four years at Howard University, or Spellman College, so that he can have his mind set free and loosened from the bias he has demonstrated. There, he will see the best, brightest, and yes controversial, of Americans on display. But the experience would not be just to remove his blinders, but to engage him in a dialogue with individuals more talented, more intelligent, and more informed than he. In addition, he would realize that despite the years of mistreatment, murder, societal excommunication Blacks have undergone, they have proudly withstood the harm white society has perpetrated on them and rose to contribute to the sciences, the arts and humanities. Clearly, Blacks have died in every war defending the country that repudiated them (sorry…I know you hate that word).
I hope you understand my humility. For its to Mr. Jones and Mrs. Savage that have taught me more than the subjects at school they presented. For they taught me honor, integrity and courage…and I will be forever in their debt…I hold myself to the example they demonstrated daily.
I feel sorry for Mr. Imus…for ingorence has never been “bliss”.
Shalom Aleichem, Mark P.
It seems that any and everything pertaining to black people (excuse me, African Americans) is taken to the extreme. People are no longer able to say anything without getting into some kind a mishmash over it. What the h**l? After Rev. Wright’s and Fr. Pfleger’s comments, don’t we white people (excuse me, White Americans) have a clearer idea of what the AA community thinks about us all. We certainly have to add to Geo. Carlin’s 7 words, only in this case they have to be erased from any and all communication, even private phone conversations, answering machine recordings on a private call, etc. One poor Hispanic woman was fired from Obama’s campaign because she told some children who were climbing in a tree to get down, they weren’t monkeys! Is this being overly sensitive or what? I would venture to say that King Obama has done more to damage race relations in this country than anyone ever has, especially considering his platform of UNITY! MLK must be turning over in his grave…
Give Imus a pass. His comment was not intended to harm. He knows that sometimes people are judged by the color of their skin!
Well here we go again another “tempest in a teapot” said by a dammed ol fool that hasn’t much to say anyway . . .raciest no ,stupid yes ! ya got to remember there there are those who”abuse the God given right of being Stupid” .
Scrapiron
I don’t fault Imus. Just a general conclusion remark probably based on National and Local Crime Statistics Conditioning. For some reason, it seems that, in general, Crime = Black.
call me a “spic”, call me a “wetback”, it won’t get a response from me because just someone saying it, doesn’t make it so!
We all have to grow a little thicker skin but the words that are spoken must be considered. There are impressionable minds that don’t know or haven’t been taught right from wrong and their natural reaction is to be offended and go on offensive.
My mother always told me that “you do more harm with words than with your fists”
its not us elders that we should be concerned about, rather, the younger minds that don’t have direction from a loving and supportive positive role model. Propaganda can be used for good or bad, its not what Imus said as much as it is how its perceived. People will be less likely to give him a pass on this because of his recent faux pas. This is a lesson for us all, we must watch what we say, who we say it to, and the manner that its is delivered because the message itself may not come across as one intended, it is defined by individual perception.
Yes I give Don Imus the benefit of the doubt. Since he has been back on the air he has bent over backward to the African-American community and pandered to them which I don’t think he should. Because no matter what he does or good he says – the majority of them including all the so-called sposkes person for the African-American community will not accept him and I believe the radical and liberals are out to get him anyway they can. Don watch your back and who you associate with.
I am offended by being called an Anglo-American. I’m a dual Irish and American citizen currently living in the USA. That doesn’t make me Anglo anything. And no offence to the British people. They are great.
I happen to like Imus. Give him some slack. And despite his faults, Al Sharpton is good TV.#
I am getting really annoyed at free speech attacks. Who said someone can’t hold prejudice — the libs? With all the garbage in music and movies against women, they have the audacity to patrol just racial prejudice. Get real. It’s his era, and you can’t change that. He’s older and they have a different point of view. And he is learning. I believe him, but more than that, who do these people think they are, the speech police???
Alisyn, I sometimes stay up late enough here in Bremerton, Washington to watch the first couple blocks of Fox and Friends. I do however hate teasers. With a laptop in front of you, I continue to wonder why. I feel insulted when you use teasers. That’s when I turn the TV off and go to bed. If I want to know the answer, I’ll just go to my laptop, cell phone, or internet. Next time you tease something, look at your laptop and ask, why am I doing this? The mother of all teasers that I heard years ago had to do with who won the Superbowl. My God the martians even knew that one.
As far as Imus, Just let this one go. I don’t believe he did any harm.
Well Alisyn I thank you for allowing me to vent a little frustration. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy all of you. I’ve read Steve’s book and found it to be humorous. I paid a little more just to get an autographed copy. Ask Brian what our Mariners need to do. I’ve tried e-mailing the pope. Can’t wait for our Seahawks.
Thank You,
AJ Myers

Hi Alisyn!
I think Imus was being truthful about the way he sees this situation with Pac-man. Why do black men feel the need to have an alias anyway. The guy is a thug obviously. Imus has done a lot of good things with his star power. What has Pac-man done?

PS love the show!

Anything to make news. Is there race today? Everyone, no matter what color, gets the same benefits from our country…free….free….free.
The man answerd the question he was asked and now we know He is Black….so there you go….What’a so racist about asking a question…..you can read anything you want to into this thing….So is Obama’s campaign racist beacause He’s black,,,,, or that He’s mentioned race a million times, its a two way street ,,….the way I see it
I think Imus has a right to say anything he feels like saying. If Obama and his people can make comments about whites as they have, then I think it is open season. Why should Imus be punished. The man was black, he had a very long crimal record, and as he said ” I rest my case”. This is what I don’t understand. Police are picking on them “Blacks”. How can you pick on someone that is doing the crime. If you do it, then you do it. I don’t care what color you are. If I get a ticket for speeding, it’s not because I am white, it’s because I was speeding. I am sick of the black take on life. I am sick of the media giving them a free ride, just because of being black. I don’t care if I am called a racist. That is just a word. But, people are so afriad of that word. I treat people the way I want to be treated. If that means I am racist, then I am racist. But, I work, I take care of my children, I pay my bills. If at anytime, someone comes in my yard, and causes any problems (black or white), then the undertaker will dress them that night. I don’t look to welfare for anything, and if the black would get up off their fat butts, and work, then this country could move forward. But, they want to let the government give them housing, foodstamps, welfare and produce as many children as they can, and not take care of them. Their kids run the roads and create more problems, because the parent (not parents, because the father is not known or not there) is out running around herself. We taxpayers have to foot the bill. Then when they get into trouble, the first thing they say, I am being picked on because I’m black. You are being picked on because you broke the law. If you would go to school, pull your pants up, talk to where people could understand you, and learn, you would understand that. But, again, a free ride, to do whatever it is you want to do. When all else falls, you enter the race card. The police was racist, the people was racist, the school was racist, the work place was racist, the television media was racist. Get over it. Your black, you don’t watch your kids, you don’t pay for your kids, you don’t feed your kids, you don’t educate your kids, you use your kids. Obama was raised by his white grandparents. What did he do, turned on them. This just goes to show you, there is no loyality in blacks, it’s about the money. His father (black) left him, but, his grandparents raised him. Thanks to them, he is where he is today. Not because of the care of the blacks, but, because of his white grandparents.
I Give Imus the ok to go on.
WILL FOX NEWS PLEASE GIVE E.D. HILL THE BENIFIT ??/
COME ON FOX… WE LOVE E.D. HILL
Thanks, Lee & Kathy Dearden
I think people that are in the spot light need to chose there words more carefully. Certainly Imus should know this by now
I THINK IMUS SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE, ANYONE WHO LISTENS TO HIS SHOW KNOWS HE IS TRUELY SORRY FOR HIS PREVIOUS REMARKS AND IS BENDING OVER BACKWARKS TO SHOW IT. SOME PEOPLE ARE OUT TO GET HIM AND THATS A FACT. ALL HE WAS SAYING WAS THAT AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE SOMETIMES ARRESTED TO OFTEN FOR NOTHING AND IF YOU HEARD THE SHOW YOU WOULD KNOW THAT.
hey,
IMUS DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG. THE OTHER GUY STARTED IT. IF YOU ARE WHITE IN AMERICA AND YOU SAY ANYTHING THAT A BLACK PERSON DISAGREES WITH YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY BRANDED A RACIST.

Al and his black races group just wants to, start another which hunt. Imus learned his lesson the last time, leave him alone.
If People really wanted to go after real- races they should start with Rev. Wright and Father Pfleger we have the proof already on them, except they are black races.
Why is it okay for them to talk about white people like they do? Cussing and accusing whites of every injustice inverted onto mankind not just with words but with twisting old testament verses and keeping their people still in oppression, and let’s not forget humping on stage like having sex while talking about Bill. Pflager- mocking Senator Clinton not only humiliated her but the Church he was in and the people he was around were clapping, he also put down America.
How can they get away with accusing America with horrible crimes and talking treason against our Country and still get government subsidies or grants for their projects? While having Farrakhan as their friend, Minister, and spiritual advisor along with supplying their body guards.
All a while under the protection of religion, Black Liberation Theology ( hatred of whites, and hatred of America, and the God white people serve is not the God black people serve.) European Americans, this is a black races slang word used for people who put them into slavery. No one has even brought this up on any national news channel, no, and one will even investigate this black race’s religion. Without being called a races. With the belief of blacks are still treated the same as they were in the Jim Crow era, (James Cone)
*Where is the person who will stand up for us the white people? Why won’t someone bring charges against these two? How about getting people who will go after Black races people and stop letting them take control of this nation. There has to be someone who is smart enough and loud enough to get these Black races bigots put in jail and make them pay the same way Al and Jesse has because they won’t go after their people when they believe the same thing. Where are our civil rights?
Imus did nothing but speak the truth.
His comment strikes home because it is true. Look at the statistics. Then thank LBJ and his welfare scheme he came up with in the 60’s to sigh up black voters in the Democratic party. It in effect removed the father from the black family by paying benefits only to households that had no wage earner living in them. Made him a hero……..deprived young black males of a father figure. Multiply that by 40 years, and this is the result.
We have grown so sensitive to every comment made by everyone. It’s really not safe to speak on any subject to anyone, let alone by public format, as so many people have made themselves the “politically correct police”. I do believe Imus was wrong the first time, but think the punishment didn’t fit the crime. This time I took it as Imus as defending the guy and meant the police were doing racial profiling. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar……………….
Who cares?? AND…who listens to Imus anyway???? Oh…..Al Sharpton number 1 fan.
