Question for David Cook?
Brian just asked me to query you guys on the blog for a question for his upcoming interview the the American Idol winner.

Anything you haven’t heard yet that you’d like to hear him answer?

It’s 3am in a SuperAmerica gas station in Minneapolis. A robber comes in and attacks a female employee. That’s when Mark Beverly sprung into action (and if you were watching at 6:20am, you saw the recreation we did live!)
He jumped on the robber who ran from the store with only $15 dollars in cash. Was Mark handsomely rewarded by his bosses for being a hero? No, he was fired. He apparently violated the company policy that says, “cooperate: don’t argue, resist or attack the robber.”
What’s the answer? Allow a coworker to be attacked? What would you do?
What do you think of our fancy new huge screen. I just test drove it. I’m told I look very tall in front of it, which, trust me, is quite an optical illusion. I’m also told at some point I’ll be able to touch the screen to make the video change! I’m drunk with power. You likey?
We’re now accepting suggestions for names for the screen. So far Big Blue is leading. You got anything better? Bring it.
Yes, it’s 3:30am as I prepare for our extra-early start of 5am today. It’s all about politics this morning: Oregon, Kentucky and Kennedy. Let’s chat. What do you make of all the developments yesterday?
And feel free to weigh in on the debate Brian, Steve and I had at 6am about whether it’s fair for Sarasota County, Florida to refuse to hire any one who smokes. Nevermind if they agree not to smoke on work hours or property — even if they WERE a smoker at some point in the last twelve months, they cannot get a job.
Discrimination or sound business policy?
School phobia is a recognized psychiatric disorder. As you probably just heard, this 17-year-old has not gone to school in her Allentown, PA district for years because she develops anxiety when she tries to: panic attacks, naseau, hyperventilating.
Her mothers says, she’d certainly like to go to school (what teenager wants to hang out at home with her mom all day long instead of with friends?) but she physically and emotionally cannot do it.
So the school district is coughing up around $50,000 for home schooling and all the extras (magazine subscriptions, travel) that come with it. Thoughts?
Obama said yesterday that the Republican Party had better lay off his wife. He says his family is not fair game. (you may remember that the state GOP party in Tennessee is running an ad about Michelle Obama’s quote that this presidential race is the first time in her adult life she’s proud of her country). First of all, what might Obama do if the GOP doesn’t lay off? Second, is she fair game? Third, do you like it when a candidate defends the honor of his wife?
