The Winner of the Breakfast with Fox&Friends Contest is…

…well, first, let me give you a hint: it’s a man.

I’ll reveal the answer right after my next newsbreak…

8:45am update

You guys are not going to believe this…we have to postpone our big announcement of the contest winner until Monday because of this deadly crane accident.  I’m so sorry!  I didn’t mean to tease it quite this much.  Please accept our apologies.  We look so forward to sharing the name with you.

As we all await with baited breath.

Hope you are the winner chas!

The winner might be a man now, but I suspect he was just a toddler when this contest started.

When this contest started Columbus still thought the world was flat.

When this contest started Romulus and Reemus were still fighting in the crib.

When this contest started the Egyptians hadn’t learned to stack rocks yet.

When this contest started neanderthals were still looking for a good realtor to help them find a good cave to live in.

When this contest started dinosaurs were chasing Raquel Welch around in her fur bikini.

When this contest started Pangea was still were all the cool kids hung out before Arnold’s opened.

BUT I’m such a woman!!!!

I agree with Mike.

This contest was run like the Democrats have run their electoral process……………zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Forget the drumroll…..use elevator music

Comment by chas

I’m pulling for you Marshal.

I have already chosen to have all the prizes sold off for Wounded Warrior and the trip donated to make a wish. Providing F&F would go along with it.

Comment by Mike Malone

UNbelievable! Breaking news to delay the announcement even longer.

(Do hope no one is seriously injured.)

Comment by chas

one reported dead Mike.

Comment by Mike Malone

Want to talk about getting your hopes up. My phone has rung twice since Alisyn posted that the winner would be announced within a few minutes.

Neither time was it Alisyn or anyone from F&F. :(

Alisyn if you want to call me I will lift the restraining order against you. LOL

Comment by Nick Francone

I forgot there was a contest…and now we have to look at a fallen crane for 10 minutes. Seems like a local story anyway. Oh, I forgot, everything that happens in NY merits national attention.

Comment by Mike Malone

2 dead now, reportedly. Terrible.

Looks like this is going to take the end of the show. So will we get an announcement on Monday?

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

You know us too well, Mike. That’s the deal. So sorry!

Comment by Jason

Just heard on the radio. Clay Aiken artificially inseminated 50 something lady. Baby due in August. Thanks Mancow.

Comment by Mike Malone

Alisyn, no need for you to appoligize. Certainly not your fault. Serious breaking news like this has to take precedence.

So no After the Show Show, either? It isn’t streaming.

Comment by Eddie Good

Life is what happens when you have other plans I know. You have a great weekend Alisynshine, Audra and Everyone.

Comment by Nick Francone

I guess I just don’t get it. I guess that’s why I’m not a news director. But why are we being inundated with coverage of this crane accident? I have learned nothing new in the last half hour. Is there nothing else going on in the world today?

Comment by Laurie

I can only say that life and death is more important than any contest. My thoughts and prayers to those hurt or unfortunately killed and their families.

God Bless.

Comment by Laurie

On a lighter note, if it is a guy Brian must feeled relieved. You know (MANBAG).

As for the awful news, we wait for Monday to hear who won.

Comment by Marshall

That’s Okay! I hope all the Fox folks and their families are out of harms way with that crane accident.

Comment by Marshall

Well, if a crane fell into your backyard it would definitely hold your attention. That is what we have with this crane and the Fox crew. It is also extra spooky since this isn’t the first crane in NYC to collapse and take lives in recent months.

Comment by Gary

Very sad news for those who have died and their families who lost loved ones, not to mention those who might be hurt as well. Prayers for the safety of those who are working to get things under control.

By the way, does the person who won the contest know they won yet, or is that being kept a surprise until Monday?

Comment by Nick Francone

I have no quarrel with reporting news when there is something to report. Again, being saturated with the same information for over an hour is not news. Perhaps updates would be more appropriate. I know it’s a matter of convenience since it happened in NYC but this constant attention is not providing anything newsworthy, in my humble opinion.

Comment by Salvatore

Alisyn, wow I know where that is, I used to live on the other side of the 59th street bridge near 30th ave in Astoria Queens, I hope not that many people got hurt.

Comment by Marshall

Hey! Hey! If the winner is on this blog, go ahead and let the cat out of the bag!!!!!!!

Comment by &heila

First let me say that I hope that there are no additional people hurt in the crane accident.

BUT there has to be other things to report about. My TV has been turned off a LONG time ago. When I want an update, I just flip it on and listen to the same repetitive questions. OK, so same questions asked differently with the same basic answers but using creative adjectives.

Having said all of that though, I do find it interesting that this is the same crane company that had major issues a couple of weeks ago. Somebody DO something already! NO one wants anyone else hurt, NO one wants another crane accident…and NO one wants to have to listen to this repetitive news coverage. ;)
Guess we will get our news from going on-line today.

Contest? So now we wait until Monday.

Praying that no one else gets hurt…..and my condolences to those families who lost someone this morning in this accident.

Comment by Candy

Alisyn– I just got into the blog and I am sorry about the crane accident. Looking forward to Monday although, since you let the cat out of the bag I can “let go of the dream”. I usually Tivo and am about an hour behind–I got up early today to watch live. Great Show– I watch delayed every morning and I am able to say optimistic and go into the office with my hopeful Pollyanna outlook in place. Thank you

No problem..The crane catastrophe (still on going) is much more important!

Two Cranes (owned by the same company) collapsing with-in weeks of each other deserves some further, close investigation (By an investigative news reporter, NOT only the city!)

IMO, There is no one better reporting on-scene than David Lee.

Comment by Christina Kachadurian

My husband entered the contest and went in to work late today waiting to learn of the results. He even asked my to call him right away when the winner was announced.

We visit NYC every summer and find all reported incidents of interest. Our hearts and prayers are offered to those who involved.

Meanwhile, we’ll wait patiently until Monday………..

Comment by Kurtis M

The way my day has started out I am now sure I am the winner. Everything else scheduled for today has had to be cancelled so why not a trip to NYC. I will gladly accept my prize on Monday.

Comment by Paul

With over 700 comments on your blog the day you asked for suggestions to name the wall, I think you did a disservice to your viewers by choosing such a nondescript name like The Big Picture.
You have intelligent and clever viewers who made hundreds of good suggestions and dozens of great suggestions. It appears as if they have been ignored.

Calling the big picture on the wall THE BIG PICTURE is like calling a bunch of trees THE WOODS.
Duh no kidding! The phrase is too generic. It is used in everyday vernacular. You almost have to use air quotes to differentiate your BIG PICTURE from everyday big pictures. You had the opportunity to create something unique. You could have had a phrase that would be forever associated with Alisyn Camerota. I think you missed that opportunity.
Love the show. Love the crew.
Best of luck with the new toy

Comment by dona shaw

Well, since you said it was a man, I guess I am out of the loop. No more suspense for me. And, being the “doorknob” I am, the thought of entering my husband never occured to me.
Love the show! All of you are funny and I love to get up and start laughing. Thanks to you all.
Love and Peace,

“The Big Picture” will never catch on anyway and soon they will simply say here is Alisyn with the news. I’m cool with that as long as Billy Mays doesn’t pop up there and try to sell me a light switch. 8O

what a tragedy hopefully the death count will stay at 1

we will await mondays show to see who is the winner
this is something like the democratic primaries

Comment by Nick Francone

Hey Dona Shaw, very funny “being a doorknob”. I never heard that one before, good one.

Comment by Tom Linke

Alisyn,

I’ve made certain the line is clear. No one is allowed to use the phone until after you call. Since F&F is our favorite show, I know you won’t disappoint your #1 friends. Looking forward to seeing you, Gretchen, Steve and Brian soon. And there could be some quid pro quo for y’all down here, as an invitation is open to you all to come down and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. The beaches are perfect for tanning up and chilling out. Who knows…you might even enjoy doing a show on the beach here :-) .

Comment by Al

At least I can have the weekend to continue and think I am the winner.

Hi Alisyn,

Well…there’s still time to change your mind on the “Breakfast with Fox and Friends winner”!!!!! Pick me instead! My husband and I watch your show regularly and love the quick wit and intelligence of all the broadcasters. Personally, I think my husband pays a little more attention to you and Gretchen…He thinks you two have a leg up on things….could it be because he’s a leg man? Things that make you go hmmmmmm…keep up the great work!

We’ll still love you guys…even if you don’t feed us!
Maryann and Peter

Comment by Paula LSMO

A man won, well, I won’t have to wait all weekend to see if I won. I feel sorry for the guys though, they’ll have to wait all weekend to see if their name was picked. Bet there’s a lot of sleep lost…

Sincerely hope no more deaths occurr as a result of the crane incident and my hearts and prayers are out to those injured. However, I have to agree that this incessant constant reporting on an issue for a news show national in scope is a little overdone.

Try to understand this: NYC isn’t the only place in the country. Your coverage on this incident is almost as tiring as your coverage this Saturday on the meeting of the Democratic Rules Committee!

Why must we be subjected to listening to the ramblings of an idiot like Howard Dean (a screamer!)? Or is he one of those self-made important people? Reminds me of your constant obsession with Geraldo Rivera! Just as useless!

And as far as announcing the results of the contest, “Why has it taken this long in the first place?”

Sounds like your producers are preoccupied with other things. Personally I think it is absoultely shameful for Fox to have delayed this long in announcing a contest winner after the contest was hyped day in and day out for three solid weeks! Maybe Bill O’Reilly should investigate and do an expose on the Factor! Sounds like creepy to me! Something was a little shaky!

What’s the TRUE story?

Comment by Brad

that crane accident was really tragic. the 2 victims have my deepest sympathies and condolences. they are in my prayers. i always feel sad whenever i hear about someone dying, even though i didnt know that person. i feel responsible, like i could have helped or saved them.

liz trotta is a racist. Fox News is complacent with her bigoted and hateful comments about Senator Obama. Shame on her and shame on you all for your complacency with this network’s political agenda.

The residents of Florida and Michigan should be mad at their state officials for moving the elections up even though they were told that there would be repurcussions. Senators Clinton and Obama should have tried to persuade the state officials to NOT move the dates. This is just another display of hypocrisy and why I’ve switched to the REPUBLICAN Party. If you give ultimatums, live up to them.
