Alisyn in the Greenroom

Open Blog Friday

First, I want to thank all the students from Lake Crystal that wrote with their firsthand defense of their Spanish teacher Ms. Ehlers and her tradition of allowing students (with parental consent) to drink Sangria on their annual trip to Spain. It’s always nice to hear from people directly involved in the news story we’re debating. Your’s is an invaluable perspective we should all keep in mind as we judge from afar.

Now, who has a firsthand perspective on chocolate-covererd bacon? Anyone? When we saw a photo of this delicacy today, well we knew we MUST bring it up on FOX & Friends First. Two great tastes that taste great together, I say! Anyone have another odd (but winning!) food combo you’d like to share? What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever combined to great effect?

Good morning Ms. Alisyn,

Friday’s finally here.

I have a question if I may. Do you have any idea of, on average, the number of hits the Greenroom gets?

I also notice that each day another of the old most hit blogs gets bumped off the list and that days blog takes it place. 

It will also be interesting to see how an open weekend will work out.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the kids. ;)

I make this meat roll that people think odd, but it is tasty.

The short version is you make a meatloaf and then spread it out in a large flat square. Then you layer ham, spinish, cheese on it.

Next you roll it up like a jelly roll and bake it in a 350 oven until done. Time depends upon tase and amount of meat. 3lbs takes about 1.5 hours.

Sounds odd, but looks cool as the swirls in the middle show and taste really good.

chas
ps, you can have my covered bacon, I like the bacon but have no use for sweets.

Sounds good! Can you send a roll of meat to the Greenroom?

Good morning Ms. Alisyn,

Not that I have anything against Jenna Bush getting married….(good for her). But how much is this wedding costing the US tax payers? Secret Service, etc.????

I have another question? How does a guy like me, 43 year old CAD Technician, get a chance to talk to a woman like Lilian Garcia from the WWE? She is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen (next to you of course) in my life! Any answers?

Pat

I enjoy penut butter and banana sandwiches and chedder cheese with apple pie. I first tried it with my grandfather while having desert and at first I thought it was gross, but once I tried it I immediately thought it was quite tasty.

Have a sparkling weekend.

I like those too! Apple and cheese is a great combo. And now when I eat a banana without peanut butter, they miss each other.

Just last weekend for the after prom – I was asked to make bacon wrapped smokies. Pork wrapped in pork and stuck with a toothpick. So, three pounds of bacon and hundreds of smokies later. (you cover them in brown sugar and bake for 35 mintues). You have all these little greasy things. I thought I should taste one just to be sure they were ok. WELL – they were delicious and I couldn’t leave them alone.

I’ve been on school trips as a chaparone – we’ve never received any instructions – we never got certain kids we were assigned too. We go to be there for our own kids. Fortunately, there has never been a problem…but we didn’t let them drink and I wouldn’t want that responsibility for someone else’s child.

Alisyn – we LOVE you! Have a great weekend.

Comment by Virginia

Pat….good morning. The wedding doesn’t cost the tax payer anything. The people around the family to protect them work everyday regardless. The president is allowed a life outside of his duties as the president, so the children may go to school, and the mall, and a job, and get married. This question has been ask by others, and it always surprises me. A better question would be, how much did we pay to have Jimmy and Nancy and other fools traipse around the world with a questionable agenda tucked in their hat. :)

Quarter cup of soft whipped peanut butter
Fill to top with Vanilla Ice Cream

One can eat bacon and peanut butter with anything. My friends have been totally yukked out by my combinations, untill they ventured a bit…with wide eyes of deliciousness and stunned that it would be good. I think my mom was very inventive, what with the traveling and the depression years also, when there was little to sustain at times. :)

Good Morning Alisyn, and Bloggers,

I missed the letter written by the students of Lake Crystal. Perhaps fellow bloggers can point me in the right direction??????

Chas, I hate to be a nit picker, LOL but your economic comparisons of the Clinton administration and the Bush administration, on face, seems inaccurate. Of course you didn’t site exactly what years, stats, etc you were comparing and there are thousands of ways to slice up the math.

I know my republican hubby who is a vice president of a fortune 300 company wishes he could channel Clinton back to the white house. ( He is in the builder cabinet business …. new home starts). LOL So that is saying something. ! I wouldn’t mind it either ..;-) Those bonuses were pretty nice!

Peace out all enjoy your day!

Ms. Alisyn,
Despite al the bacon receipes, here’s a secret worthy of news.
Billary will be hee in southern WV today, School kids wll be forced out in the rain to make a crowd, along with some of the “old dog” Democrats, and people who will never again get such a thrill to see the former Prasident. To hear a speech of promotion for his wife.

I just wonder, if bacon and jelly would be a good meal for the former President?

Have a good day.

I don’t think a 13 pound dog could do much damage and I bet the guy was speeding so that would speak to a shared negligence in the dog’s death. I want to see pictures of the accident scene with measurements of skid marks, any nearby stop signs or traffic lights. I think this case could be turned around and the guy will regret ever bringing this frivolous lawsuit!!!!!

Hi everyone…I have to read fast! Anything covered in chocolate must be good? Oh yes, I am sure of that…it must be so. Pork of any sort can be fixed with just about anything, just use the imagination, and have fun. Chas…I have done this with the meatloaf, and one can continue to layer until the fridge is empty of any this or that which may be lurking in the corners…yummmm! Everyone likes it, and I some times don’t tell what I have done, so as not to get a premature desicion (someone tell me how to spell this word!! geezzz!) regarding the tast buds. One must be very inventive with all those kiddies and not always as many dollar bills as one might think they needed…as it happens, a needless worry as their was always just exactly what was needed, as promised. Yep…..for sure! lol

Alisyn…good morning! Where is this letter from the kids you mention? I have F&F taping as I missed the first hour already. Perhaps it’s something that was read on the air or is this a letter you posted somewhere on the Fox website?

About weird food combinations. We thought this was the weirdest thing when it was suggested to us, but it’s really good actually. Take your favorite brand of Salt and Vinegar potato chips and you use canned creamed corn for your “dip”. Don’t knock it till you try it. It’s pretty amazing.

Good morning everyone! Have a great Friday.

Laurie…this question has been ask, in not very nice terms, a zillion times, and I am always astonished! It is amazing that people forget he is also a citizen, and the presidency is his job. They are watching him brush his teeth practically…geeezzzz!!! But, anything to gotcha the guy by some who just can’t ge over it. Not you Pat…just those that are sooooooooo ready to slam him about everything. They see nothing wrong with the Rush issue and the senate taking up time to threaten him, while our soldiers are fighting a war! What a group they all are, and no wonder their numbers are in the toilet!!! I am thrilled for our president, and I hope they have a joyous time at this wedding for their most precious daughter, and I pray for their happiness and a very good life. They deserve this moment for sure. I would have quite and gone home if a group of people were so absoultel mean and hateful at every turn…yes, I would!!!!

Ms. Lori,

I was stating, if memory serves, on my own personal circumstances. Prior to this downturn, and actually even during it I have more of my pay in my pocket and enough to actually have a savings account.

And my income to living cost remains close to the same as it was then.

RE: Chas, ok gotcha. I knew you weren’t trying to mislead your fellow bloggers. ;-)

As our personal income rose during the Clinton administration obviously our tax bill did as well, the extra 2500 Bush’s tax cut gave us was negated because we lost the ability to “claim our children” due to our income level sooooo not so much of an advantage to us if I based my opinion JUST on taxes paid.

Comment by Virginia

Sheila…it’s on, but, I was so excited about Alysin saying Hi to me, I missed It!!!!!! :) Alec Baldwin could do this, couldn’t he? He saved the world and got the sub as I recall..yep, he did. Wasn’t that a documentary??? Oh dear, maybe it was a movie, and he thinks he is now tooled and ready for the job. That must be it, and as we have watched Alec, I am sure he thinks that just might qualify him too. Sure…if he doesn’t leave the country, as threatened…like we thought he would ever choose that. Although, I am sure he doesn’t scare me at all…considering our choices at this moment, we could just do a write in campaign for him, and then not worry about it at all…he could get his writers to script the next four years….yes, that would also be an excellent plan. IF we have decided to ditch “the judge” and Tony Snow, that is, my recent write in plan that got absolutely no notice. I had Alysin in Nancy’s spot, and it would have to be better, as I have never seen Alysin chewing and blinking…and she would be smart and pretty all at once!!!!! :)

The Democratics are destroying their party by backing a man that has no experience and shows bad judement, if they want the American people to support Obama and his anti American associates, their crazy, Clinton should take it to the Democratic convention, she is the better candidate, and she can win, you cant go to the convention with 48 States, and you have to count Florida and Michigan, or the American people would have no other choice other then to vote for McCain.

My co-worker ask me once how come I didn’t weight three hundred pounds as she watched me stuff my mouth with all this yummy candy. No fat…zero I discovered, which made it all the more good…despite the sugar content. Yep! YUMMMM to the max! Once I am over the event of much stuffing, however, I don’t want any more for a while. I also prefer my hershey chocolate bar in the one pound version. The heck with the bite size or the regular size bar. Let get tuit if the chocolate is the craving!!!! If I may do a short post on a project for our guys called Quilts Of Valor. The link which you can get to by clicking on my name, will explain it much better than my poor abilities at writting could accomplish.

The short version is this. Most of our guys who are wounded in battle do not come right home. Thaey are sent for treatment in Germany until they are well enough to return home.

During this stay these ladies, which includes my wife, make patriotic designed quilts that the guys are given.

These quilts are well received by the guys all of which are sent with a letter of thanks for their service.

Please check out their site as these are all doing this on their own and any help, be it material, money or other support would be helpful.

Thank you one and all for you time.

Good Morning,

I am just trying to make a little sense of the tragedy in Myanmar. After hearing the death toll of over 100,000, the images that I have seen do not show the bodies. Immediate images from the Tsunami showed bodies everywhere, and for weeks afterwards. I am not doubting there were deaths, but I do question the amount. Is this the reason the Junta will allow other relief organizations in, but only allow supplies. What do you think.

Have a good one,

I thought it sounded strange the first time I heard of it, but then tried it and it is good. In Hawaii pork and peanut butter are combined a lot. It is good.

Now we know that chocolate and bacon go together, and Reese’s long ago proved chocolate and peanut butter go together, so maybe combining the three together would be good. Bacon wrapped Reeses’ peanut butter cups anyone?

Fellow bloggers:

I am a life long dem and a former delegate, and happen to live in Michigan, after moving from Texas recently.

It was announced a year ago our delegates would not be seated because Michigan had chosen to move it’s primary date. There were no campaigns, no signs, no tv ads, all presidential candidates took their name OFF the ballot except for Clinton, because they were instructed to by the dem party leaders according to the rules. Clinton’s name appeared because her campaign waited too long to submit the paper work. We couldn’t have voted for Edwards, Obama, Biden even if we WANTED to.

There was also an informal suggestion that we should vote for Romney, because it was widely thought Mc Cain would be the more difficult opponent. (Mr. Rush was not the first to launch operation Chaos) Many democrats in Michigan did just that.

The primary process is not one person one vote, the nominee is chosen by the ELECTED delegates, who are NOT bound to vote for the candidate with the most votes in their state. They are free to vote for whomever they wish after the first round.

Last but not least, even IF MI and FL delegates were seated today, as is, Obama would still be ahead in delegates.

So bottom line Clinton stay Clinton leave, it makes no difference, the delegates at the convention will chose. (Both “super” and “elected”). Either way it won’t and isn’t destroying the party, it hasn’t been until recent that the democratic nominee was decided before the convention, and we have won many elections. Rest assured all will be well with us, and we will be ready to fight the fight in November. ;-) xoxoxoxo

Peace out all..

Alli,

Part 1 of 1st post at O’dark thirty this morning:

First, Cindy Crawford is a close second to you. You have the attributes of a super model coupled with the looks and charm of a “girl next door.”

None of the other Aliblogers remarked about how you would look in Real Tree or a Benedictine habit. I guess their silence affirmed that you would look great in either one. Can you wear a hula shirt one morning?

I know you are Italian and not Polynesian however, it would be an event; perhaps one day during ratings week.

The best chocolate I ever had (this will sound trite) was in Belgium. It was indescribable. I wish I knew the name. However, that was 20 years ago and the slip of paper or the wrapping is long gone.

Comment by Sheila

Lori, thanks for your informative post. I’m glad you have felt comfortable giving your opinion even though you do probably feel that most of us posting have a republican opinion.
What’s up with the whole Michigan thing? That doesn’t sound right. They changed the date of the primary and then you only had Clinton as a choice? GRIEF !! Was there any legal action that could be taken later?
Recently I have begun to blog here and I ask a lot of questions, at the risk of looking stupid. Yesterday or the day before perhaps, in one of my posts I had asked about why the democratic primary is done SO vastly different than the republican party? The republicans do not have the whole delegates issue, to my knowledge their process is popular vote during the primary.
No matter where my views fall, the election process is amazing and I’m so glad that we are in a country that we have the freedom to even talk about such things.

Chocolate, bacon, and peanut butter…. I would try it.

Virginia, as Andy Levy likes to say, a well armed society is a polite society.
I think that every able minded person without a criminal record should pack heat.

Hey Virginia,

I am the only one in my family that loves fresh, homegrown tomatos – ( I did grow up in the south and that is a staple in the summer) and yes you just described one of the most perfect meals for any time of the day. Also a farm fresh tomato on white bread with real mayo and salt and peper is a great dish. I am with you some of these combos sound yummy!!

How is the ankle or is it your foot that you hurt? Hope you are getting around ok.

Comment by Virginia

Lori….excellent post, excellent! Thanks for the info of the workings of the election process. lol And you are absolutely correct. We will go forward, and all will be well regardless, as it always is…:)

My favorite burger is called a Brauny lad (sp?) It’s a rye bun, beef burger, lots of onion, and tarter sauce. OMGsh The tarter sauce with the fries, yes, very good too.

My dad’s favorite sandwich was toasted wheat bread, peanut butter and jelly…with BACON. It’s true. ;o) I fixed it for him most Saturday mornings unless there was left over chili in the frig.

Sheila,

A couple of state elected Michigan democrats (Gov.) thought that moving the primary date before New Hampshire and Iowa ( or close to it) would give Michigan a national spot light. Something they thought would bring attention to Michigan and it’s economic plight. Sooooooo even though it was against their party’s rules, they did it anyway.

You will have to differ to one of your fellow republican bloggers to comment about how and why their party has different rules. ;-) Sorry

Sheila,

The PBJ is great – we used to fry it the sandwich – never tried the bacon with it! Delicious but just thinking about it now makes my chest hurt!

Comment by Virginia

Cindy…fresh tomaters right out of grandma’s back yard, still warm from the sun, and who even thought they needed anything but a polish with the shirt tail before consuming as many as the tummy could hold!!!! Yes, them were the days for sure. If you add bacon and mayo to that, your taste buds will be totally in heaven. One must go forward with no fear in the food area. I think it is the packaging that gets in the way of the brain and what might be.
The ankle is fine, I guess. Not healing as fast as one might wish, but, then, it’s ok as it has turned out, or I would be blissfully unaware of this most wonderful place to be and watching TLC in between FOX news reports!!! The doc is sending me to see the orthopedic surgeon to see whatsup. My advice is…..NO FALLING AFTER YOU ARE TWENTY FIVE!!!!! Yep, that would be the message, along with, of course, pay attention VIRGINIA when I am whispering in your ear, or nugging you r shoulder, of course!!! :) :):) lol

I like a little ketchup and a dash of hot sauce on scrambled eggs. I also liked this egg casserole thing I had once with fresh made salsa. I’m hungry for breakfast, brunch and lunch all in one sitting!

If they ever announce a winner for that contest and someone gets to crawl into bed with Alisyn and GC for breakfast, will they serve that chocolate covered bacon? Hmmmmmmm……. there was something titillating about just typing those words. 8)

Yeah, I think all the statins I take are staging a protest in my chest just for reading about all of this stuff! lol

Lori…..From the “country” of Texas to Michigan? You are definitely needing to remember to run fast into the sun every time it is available!!! :) :) Yep, you do. When we came to the most gorgeous, green with trees part of yankee country, I had a major light deprivation event that lasted for a long time. I was sooooooooo relieved to find out I wasn’t going slowly mad and it was, indeed the light that was missing in action in my life! That doesn’t address the major cultural difference between the country of Texas and Michigan….yep! :) :) lol

Ms. Lori,

I respect your opinion and am happy to hear your take on the circumstances. And if I may repeat myself for I am pretty sure you were not here when I pointed this out weeks ago.

If you sit the MI/FL the GOP beats you up for not following the rules you lay down.
If you don’t sit the MI/FL you get beat up for cutting them out of the process.

I also might point out that given the current state of things Dems should have a 20 point lead and the best you have is a tie right now.

This is not going to be a cake walk for you by any stretch of the imagination.

respectfully,

Place 3 bacon slices on top of the banana, then place the remaining buttered bread slices on top, butter-side-out.

Marshall…you and my hubby. I just put the hot sauce on the table as he puts it on everything. I like it in the dish, maybe, but I don’t want to add it on afterwards. I prefer my tongue to not be on fire!!!! :) :):) Of course, maybe he can’t feel his tongue anymore?? I hadn’t thought of that…hummm…I must ponder that! lol

The Original Elvis Presley’s Grilled Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

2 slices of white bread
2 tablespoons of smooth peanut butter
1 small ripe banana mashed
2 tablespoons butter

Spread the peanut butter on one slice of bread and the mashed banana on the other. Press the slices gently together. Melt the butter (or to be truly Elvis-like, melt bacon fat!), over low heat in a small frying pan. Place the sandwich in the pan and fry until golden brown on both sides. Eat it with a glass of buttermilk.

Please note: Elvis tended to eat 12-15 sandwiches a sitting! So belly up!

Virgina:

You are so right about that.

I am originally from PA, and lived on Lake Erie for many years, so cold and snow are no stranger to me, HOWEVER I had serious issues coping with the winter gloom this year. LOL I didn’t care for the “culture” of Texas, but I absolutelllllllly LOVED the weather. I am so enjoying the beautiful flowers and trees that are now blooming though. So good and bad in all things I guess..;-)

Do you live in TX?

Comment by Sheila

Cindy…Use Peanut butter to fry a sandwich? you mean in place of butter? Interesting.

Lori..No one answers about the difference in the parties and why. Perhaps I will have to start digging on my own for my answer. I’m sure I learned about all of this in high school government class, I just simply can’t remember anymore. Must be my old age. Turn 40 and everything goes to pot.
Also, how can Michigan just go against their party rules and do something like that??? Wouldn’t someone put a stop to it before it actually became a reality? Too much red tape perhaps and then a leadership issue somewhere inside.

Comment by Virginia

You know, my mom used to fix this all the time. I haven’t for a long time, so I am glad to be reminded. re: recipe for Elvis sandwich. A southwest food item I am sure? :) He also had a full introduction to all things yummy!!! lol

Good morning from KY. This is my 1st time ever blogging, so please excuse the grammar. I have a question or a opinion…With the price of gas so high, which in turn affects the price of food, autos and anything else we need to survive, why should we pay for congress and the house to lease high end autos and gas usage? If they are really concerned about the people they serve, why not offer to pick up these bills. If they had to pay out of their pocket what we pay maybe it would really hit home that there is a problem. Thank you and have a great day.

Comment by Lori

Well Sheila you are right, Michigan going against the party rules was wrong and hence the “punishment” ….. Michigan’s delegates won’t be seated… We will see if that holds, there is a meeting at the end of May with the “rules” committee.

It’s not that I won’t answer about the difference in party rules, it’s just I am not familiar with the republican party. ;-)

Virginia, a belated thanks for your encouraging words earlier this morning. I guess I’m my worst critic. My husband would simply flip if he knew I was posting here with it being such a public place. Isn’t everything on the internet though? I do try and guard my writings. This is such an interesting place to visit and get involved. The different opinions and personalities ..very addictive.

Alisyn, liked the blue shirt today. Happy Mom’s day. Where is that student letter again? I’ve done a Fox search on Lake Crystal student letter and nothing comes up but this blog title.

Comment by chas

Ms. Sheila,

40? I wish I was that again.

By Constitution each state is responsibile for their elections. The party only gets to tell them what to do if they allow it. There are no powers granted to a “party” in the Constitution.

However, if they are cut off from the party they can lose matching funds and support for bills that could aid them in the operation of the state.

So you have to play ball with them or else, sort of how blackmail tends to work. :)

The GOP runs the primary much like the general election is run. If memory serves they also punished FL for moving up the primary date by cutting their deagates in half. I am not sure about MI.

I could be wrong about that, but it seems to me I heard on the News.

Lori…that is because Texas doesn’t recognize they are part of the union, and behave only because they deign too??? Yes, I am pretty sure that is so. Criminals with a brain, also stay out of the land of Texas, as they know they don’t want to get in Texas Walker Ranger’s sites for any reason!!!! :) :) Yes…when the girls traveled down there..on their own that is, as they had been many times on family trips….I warned them that once they crossed the border from the USA into the country we lovingly call Texas, they needed to stay on their toes! :) They laughed at me, but, when they got home they were full of funny stories re the major culture shock they encountered…those little ol’ yankee girls! Step Away From The Car is not a polite suggestion in Texas. They mean STEP AWAY FROM THE CAR or I will shoot your a@@, and I ain’t pausing to ask any questions either!!!! I love Texas and all things tex-mex, yes I do!!!!!! :)

I remember when French Dressing on pizza was sort of a trend. Didn’t care much for that trend though. lol

al m…you are doing it wrong. The grill MUST be hot, hot. The butter goes on the outside, like a regular grilled cheese. C’mon, it’s delish…I grew up eating these, as often that may be all that was available depending on where we were. lol

Comment by Virginia

I would think french dressing should have been ok..it has a tomato base does it not? I never tried it, as we don’t mess with the pizza, the whole idea being, it is brought to you and everything can be then thrown away…no dishes, no fuss, no muss!!! lol

Comment by Marshall

Virginia I am already thinking I am going to hit the fresh produce place in the morning and see what they have this early in the season. There was nothing as good as Sunday dinner during the summer at Mom’s. Fresh peas, butter beans, silver queen corn, fried okra, sliced tomatoes, a skillet of cornbread and skillet fried chicken. Geez……. now I guess mom would be arrested for murdering all those veggies! 8O

RE: chas, I remember reading your posts about seating MI and FL, and I have to say respectfully, it is only an issue with republicans..LOL Every democrat I know doesn’t have a problem with this election process, we understand it and are ok with it, it is what it is. I hate to burst your bubble.

The 20 point loss your speaking of, is another red herring, a hopeful wish put out by smart republicans. All of the news cycles have focussed on the democratic primary “fight”. The general election campaigning hasn’t even begun, it makes perfect sense that our numbers have gone down. Only time will tell, but I’ll betcha a dollar and a beer they will come up again…

Sheila…absolutely, only my family is just sooooooooooooooo happy I am not chatting endlessly about all things from the news to TLC!!! They sat bleary eyed, until one of them mentioned blogging with a huge smile. I said, oh no, no…I have never done that before and I am just a little afraid? Oh mom, you will LOVE it, they shouted, in unison with much glee and prospects of relief!! The children are happy, the hubby is delighted to have the remote and the big t.v. allllllllll to himself, instead of the little one upstairs with only 100 channels which means there is no option for some of the movie channels, however, endless boxing film from days of yore. Yes….peace reigns in all the spaces of my home. The big question is………….how do I reasert my authority over all things once my ankle is healed!!!???? We have mused in earlier posts of different ideas availabel to me. The carpentry and fixing of toilets, being one diversion suggested, but, not a good one, as he is ADD and would need help with that. By the way…the toilet was fine last nite, so I don’t know what the reference was too, on his part, while I was madly typing on the blog and he was telling me about toilet and tickets? I sitll don’t have a clue about the tics, but, the toilet was ok…I know all fo you were anxiously awaiting to have this valuable info?? Sure you were. :)

I am just wondering about Obama. During his time in the senate, what has he done while holding that seat? From my understanding, he hasn’t done anything. Where in the world would a person that can not even do his job as a senator, be able to run a country. It amazes me to see how blind the world is, and how everyone wants to paint this beautiful picture of his change. But still, no one knows what that change really is. The truth is, he hasn’t changed anything in the senate. He has left this country in total shock of the comments that come out of his mouth, the friends he has, and the choices he has made. He states all kinds of changes, but the only thing I see, is that he has made it uncomfortable for people to speak their free mind about pollitics. His choices are not wise ones. The choices to keep company with Pastor Wright, especially for 20 years, says, his common sense is not in tack. He now speaks of the shame of the words that Wright says, but we the people, should know that he had to of heard them. No one can hide those feelings for all of those years. I know that if we had someone in our lives that said things like that, either we would keep our distance, leave that situation, or desolve all ties from them. Unless you truley believe what they are saying. So come on everyone, lets use our common sense, and see the true side of Obama. This country has kept there blind fold on too long. This man has no experience, bad judgement, and is far from patriotic.

My husband travels to China often and as a consequence his bizness contacts offered to host our family for the summer Olympics.

Then there is the kid who had every toy in the world and all the attention from his mom a kid could want, but came back and told me when he was twenty five…it took that long for him to get a brain, as discussed before…to tell me what a wonderful time he had at my house growing up playing in the sprinkler in the front yard…I was the only one without a lawn for years..we have one now, but I am sure I am not having as much fun…and eating wonderful new things from my kitchen, both exotic and funny…ya know..peanut butter with mayo, and frozen peanuct butter and jelly sandwiches, fixed with great care, as some wanted the jelly on “the top” and some wanted the jelly on the “bottom”…I love kids and their delightful view of the world…frozen because there was no micro wave….so, anything can and does happen….lol

That doesn’t even address the price of corn, a basic commodity of our food pantry…..geezzzz! What a world. Gore’s pockets continue to grow, and grow, and grow!!! I still like my new business idea. I just think we would all be rich immediately in that there are those that would believe the ridiculous always, so are targets for them that would be of a nefarious and scoundrel nature..Yep…they would, and we could tap into that, and push these better character pluses we have to the back…just for a minute, until we have our fortune safely tucked in the savings and loans? :) :)

Dog…if I decide I don’t care if I am in over draft or the e-mail situation, which will stop tomorrow when my friend leaves on their cruise..I can always scoot over to yours, which is wonderful also, so all is not lost! lol

Comment by Virginia

Or, over to Chas and the quilting for warriors site, which I am interested in, and I definitely have time and a good reason, if one would need further reason other than the obvious. My nephew leaves today at 1p for Iraq…fine looking boy in his uniform..or not in hi uniform actually, as I pause to see him in my mind. Yep! :) Iam seeing red lines every where, but, I think it is my dismally inadequate glasses…surely I can still spell. Oh geezzz! Code Pink and their antics are all over the news…again! :) Hopefully their venture into the land of the dark occult will come back and smack them in their collective face…well, as a matter of fact, I am pretty sure that is exactly what will happen. :)

Comment by DogOnCrack

Virginia, please feel free to post at mine all you like.
I’m sure the others would love anything you have to say.

Comment by DogOnCrack

Did you read what I wrote about Code Pink?

Comment by Virginia

Dog…I didn’t venture to comment there before because it took a while to read everything…well, I didn’t get to everything as I was having to stop and laugh and think, ya know, madly telling the baby girl she simply must go to this most interesting place, and dealing with her polite, but definitely, dismissive looks!!! Oh well, she will just have to miss out…:)

Sheila -

You make the peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then fry it in butter. Now it sounds absoulutely horrible but when I was 12 and 13 yrs. old it was the best.

Comment by Virginia

Dog…where is it…scanning madly, can’t find it..but, there is a lot of this person Virginia Comments, as my puter continues it’s ghostly behavior….:)

Comment by Virginia

jAh Cindy, Sheila, Dog….I feel sooooooo much better now. Whew! Scary when that happens…lol Cindy, I already pointed out that obvious point to al m, after laughing heartily for many moments. Too funny for sure!!!! :)

Comment by Virginia

Yes, checked it out, and I do rem….geezzz, Zango pop up thingy..took forever to make it go away!!! Anyway, I do remember reading it and agreeing of course and wishing all that and more would come crashing down on their heads. Toooooooo stupid and they definitely fall in the category of those who have not ventured more than fifty miles from home, either on their own or on National Geographic channel, or magazine. Luckily for me, it has been first hand so perhaps I am not as patient as one might be otherwise? lol

Comment by DogOnCrack

I should probably write thread about their latest antics.

Comment by Virginia

It’s still yummy Cindy. Fix up a tray and serve it to the hungry masses that hit the door when their pantry is empty, as all the chiluns continue to do. Hello mom, and the fridge opens. My son came one day and ask me where the interesting and good food was that could usually be found in my pantry. I calmly told him that I had decided it could actually be stored up at the corner on their shelves as I could go anytime I wished as there were no longer sleeping babies to tie me to the house??? Sheesh!!! I had a neighbor call to borrow a can of the ever present tomatoes, and had to laughingly tell her I was out of business, and she too would have to venture up to the corner also. Military life with mom and dad did instill a need to have copious amounts of all kinds of good stuff on the shelf at all times, a very hard thing to stop doing, much like learning how to cook for less than five hundred, as one never knew who might pop in for a bite!!! :)

Comment by Virginia

Dog….I should think so! They are something else all right. Amazing in these times. They have no excuse except the total stupid gene that is apparently dominant in their family. It may be a skip a generation thing…or be passed from the other stupid person back thar in times of yore??? Oh well…we will have them with us always…have had and will have, so be it! :)

Comment by Marshall

Want to get hungry go watch the AtSS! In fact, I am going to sneak out early and go have some lunch!!!!!!!! :D

Comment by Virginia

Oh geezzzzz! I dashed over to add site to my bookmarks, only to discover that I already had, but, I forgot because that is another “new” thing I learned about…geezzzz!! My poor old brain, trying to retain all this very important puter stuff! :) I’m talking to myself again~~~~~~~scaaarrryyy~~~~~~no wonder the kids and hubby were bleary eyed. I come to agree me thinks. It’s not the glasses afterall, hummmm??? :) Dog…you may want to re-think that invite to comment…yep, you may!!! lol

Comment by Virginia

Marshall, just about the time the ghosts seem to be at lunch also you pop up and now are leaving! Geezzz! I and Sheila are not winning this battle of the puter and the Gods therein or ghosts lurking….:)

I just returned from australia where they put beets on their cheeseburgers ..kinda different

As I await the pleasure of said gods and ghosts, I have an opportunity to scan and read and catch up, albeit late, but none the less, interesting as always. lol

I did enjoy that sandwhich growing up – you are very funny. Enjoyed chatting with y’all today now I must go be a Mom at my daughters school. Take care and have a great weekend.

See….I missed Joy and some of Sheila’a comments, which I have come to look for…sheesh! Sheila…..Life Lock…buy it and your world will become immediately less complicated, starting with the assurance of no name/life stealing and the lovely ceasing of mail in the mail box which must be shredded, tho it matters not a bit, except it has little pieces of info that we are told is dangerous for the dumpster divers…a new rather yukky description of the nefarious scoundrel in our midst. It is not expensive, and your credit union may be offering it at a discount, and if you are not a member of a credit union, run do not walk to your nearest phone book or web google and find the nearest one to you and join, where you will immediately start receiving all kinds of personal attention and higher and/or lower rates applicable to whatever you are trying to do. A well kept secret by the banking institutions as they are not even close when trying to compete…yep, they do not like the credit unions for all the reasons of profit and high costs for every single thing a person might need. So, keep them happy with a small acct and move everything els to your CREDIT UNION…yep, today!! :) lol

Comment by Virginia

Oh Cindy…enjoy the moments. Obviously you are. Have a great day…lol

Virginia, I have thought about it again as you suggested and my mind hasn’t changed.
Besides, it’s a public blog and anyone can comment.

From the comfort of home I have returned. Now I can watch F&F 1st and then go watch the AtSS and get my Ms. Alisyn fix for the day.

I see she has placed 2 more topics but as of yet not put up a weekend open blog. Well she still has an hour left before she goes to the mommy neighborhood. I hope she remembers.

Shirley…where did you go? You have a life obviously, unlike me. Scanning I find you from much earlier. You have found the most wonderful place to be, especially as a new blogger, which I am also, and amazingly enough, is Will P. also, so you are in very good company. It is fun, and addictive, as Sheila and I have discovered!!!! so, tho you are gone now, I look forward to seeing you soon.
We continue to question our representatives, don’t we, on excess of everything, the car thing rather small in the scheme of things. They continue to try to look busy with strange and possibly, actually dangerous legislation, all the while, worrying over what Rush has had to say today. What a group, and we watch and are just amazed at every turn. Would seem their agenda is not ours perhaps, a lot of the time, and they ask us to really stretch our ability to look at anything they may be doing with anything but disdain and huge anxiety.
I can’t find the “you” I was speaking to…:( but, welcome…oh, was it Natalie???? a glimpse of memory long lost…I am sure it is a momentary illuminiation and will pass quickly like my short term usually is!!!!!!!!!! lol
I am starving after reading all the food stuff…I am in overdraft…call from my friendly Credit Union :) …told ya..very nice indeed, this old fashioned approach…I am off to EAT everything that I can find that I have been reminded of…peanut butter with anything is delicious, and chocolate, and fried ochra, and gravy, and~~~~~oh my!!!! Throwing all caution to the wind!!!! lol and to send someone with a small check to take care of this OD thing that has happened…life is good, yes it is!! :) Ah, it’s Shirley, had I looked at the beginning of my comments! Duh! But, hello Natalie, anyway….:)

Chas…I must hasten forth and look to see what is the new question…..lol

Comment by Virginia

I also found Jewel…what a beautiful name. Brings delightful pictures of sparkling things around ones neck and on the fingers and ankles, of course…not to skip the ears!!!! I am sure we will be good friends also, as everything Merlot is good with anything one might want to eat with? Yes, I think so. Still don’t have any…keep forgetting to ask someone to pick up a bottle. I am off to check the new question……lol

Comment by chas

We might have to use one of them over the weekend…lol

chas

Comment by chas

Jewel is a singer/songwriter…lol

chas

Is she on TLC???? :) :):):):)

Her recent songs are on GAC or CMT, she just put out a country album.

Comment by Virginia

Hi Chas…..I may have known that in that the name sounds familiar, so it is probably stored somewhere in my puny brain. The kids have prob had it on the cd player, as they scurry to take control over said player, as I prob have Roger Whitaker blasting and it hurts their ears. Ah!! I am getting a pedicure from the baby angel that comes to tend to me and grandpapa…yummmy hot soapy water for the piggies. I think I may be in heaven~~~~~~~~~~~~~sigh~~~~yes! Definitely heaven! lol

Comment by chas

Well Ms. Alisyn must have forgot to do the weekend open blog. But we have the party and the AtSS topics to use on Sat. and Sun.

We could use Brians party for Sat and the Mom’s day blog for Sun.

What do you think?

chas

Comment by chas

My last post just fell into the digital divide.

I was thinking we could use Brian’s Party blog for Saturday and the Mom’s day blog on Sun.

Pedicure ha ha. None of those for Jewel if I remember correctly. Says she’s too ticklish for them, or maybe that was Kelly Pickler.

Sometimes I hate my memory, I remember things no sane person would and forget things I should remember…lol

chas

Comment by chas

Stupid thing, keeps dumping my post.

I feel like Will…lol

chas

Comment by chas

I can’t remember if it was Kelley Pickler or Jewel but one of them said no to pedicures, too ticklish to stand them…lol

But I thought you had to sit to get one…lol

Sort of let down that Ms. Alisyn forgot to post the weekend blog.

I think tomorrow we should use the Party blog.

What do you think Ma’am?

chas

Comment by Virginia

Me too…..oh well! Whatchagonna do? lol

Comment by Virginia

Yes Chas…the party blog it is. Or, I will scurry and search using all my new found skills. Just try to hide and see what happens :) :) I found a person with the Jewel name on an earlier comment, while I was in the land of F5, and she too enjoys Merlot with good things to eat. That was the Jewel thing…but, if Jewel is country, she has definitely been on my cd…son is a great fan of country, as am I actually. :)

Comment by Virginia

The pedicure is complete and I now have beeeuuutifulllllll piggies! Ah~~~~~~~~sigh~~~~~~~~~~yes, a wonderful thing for sure. And I am sitting down Chas. Thee forgets I am in the wheely chair so am sitting, getting a pedicure, and blogging all at once. Now, that’s what I call an accomplishment resplendent with big smiles and lots of sighs!!!!!! :)

Comment by chas

Jewel was more pop than country until now, but her pop was a bit like some of the newer country songs.

She’s done some crossroads and is real comfy with country. Interesting story really. You shouldgoogle her.

If you like the Wreckers they sound a bit like Jewel.

Comment by Virginia

Helloooooooooooo!! I must go find the group! I have left all by myself……:)

Comment by chas

I think you missed the joke there Ms. Virginia. I said one of them couldn’t STAND getting a pedicure because of how ticklish they were. But you have to sit to get one.

Geeeez I hate when I have to explain a joke…lol

Comment by Virginia

There you are! Geezzz Chas, I can’t keep up. Well…I don’t know, I will have to ask the children if I have heard them. I don’t always know what I am listening to…it’s always good..they have very good taste in music and they are all over the map, from religious, to opera, to country, to pop…you name it and it is all on at my house from time to time….again, as the rush to take Roger off and put something on that doesn’t “hurt their ears”…I just love Roger…but I co-operate anyway, as it is all good so it matters not. :)

Comment by Virginia

Geezzz! I see, now that I look! But, you are impressed with my skills as they get soooooooooooooooo good? Yes? Dad thinks I am writing a book…..as I am alway here all the time now. He just told me that it was good I was writing about my experiences. He is so cute…I am not even going to try and explain to him what I am doing. Too funny! :) :)

Comment by chas

My wife knows what I am doing as she sits and watches some lifetime movie and sews a quilt block.

Not a Volar quilt. Guess she needed a break from that. It takes her about 100 hours to put one together.

I can’t believe that she has already done 7 this year.

I wish I had that kind of energy.

Alibloggers,

I had to take my mom to the orthopedic doctor for a checkup. She is in an ALF (not the one from beyond the Alisphere). Broke her collar bone – four more weeks in a sling. All you momma’s out there take your calcium.

al m- do I give the impression of being sensitive and needy. If so, fagettaboutit. That comes from me teasing and taunting our hostess with the mostess about always giving props to Marshall and Chas. I have needs too! I have the feeling she has instructed the jackalopes to add my name to the “S” list; I am no longer an “A” lister like the aforementioned or Virginia (Ed.Note – Alli, you need not recognize me with a terse note. I still think you are the HOTNESS of the digital universe!) Unrequited love. Alas, my fate.

Sheila – since I was not in the loop, I am not sure if I could answer your entry.

I have to return to the salt mines this weekend, therefore I don’t know if I will get a chance to record another event from the early sixties in Tejas.

What’s the hot topic at this hour?
I think Obama’s comment about McCain losing his bearings is a big joke…..did you see the McCain commercial with his 90 + years old mother….I don’t think age will be an issue in this election after that!

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

McCain’s mother was intelligent, sharp and very witty…I think that proves he is not too old to be our next president.

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

Am I missing the boat here…or is there another topic I am interrupting?

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

Well, I guess everyone is on a break….maybe I will try back in the morning.

I sure wish I could watch more of the show daily but work calls! I loved your sweater today and was wondering…where did you purchase or discover. Great color ans AUsome details.
Happy Mother’s Day to you.

Good morning everyone, and Alysin. I am still searching for the early risers….hellooooo, where is everyone? lol
