Alisyn in the Greenroom

New Photos!

Check out some photos from behind the scenes of Brian’s birthday bash and some of hockey legend Mark Messier. And if you want to see me wearing a sombrero (and why wouldn’t you?) go to the Cinco de Mayo post.

So, why are these photos only being published on the Nuevo de Mayo? Blame A.J. He had the audacity to take a day off from his internship to win some silly award, something called Hofstra University’s “Broadcast Journalist of the Year.” Whatever.

I think I just accidentally ventured into netherland! 8O

Never really thought about 44 being a landmark kind of birthday, but you guys went all out for Brian. What is his wife’s name? There was a Jill asking about the AtSS video of the socker kids on the other thread, because they didn’t get to see it.

Comment by Mike Malone

AJ put winning an award over his duties to the Aly blog? Bad intern, bad! You loose one days pay for such bad judgement!
Alisyn and her blog always take precident! All hail Queen Alisyn!

Thanks for the new pics!

Are we going to see some of Mama Rocco’s recipes posted? MMM, mmmm…..

Those meatballs this morning looked almost as tasty as Alisyn looked beautiful, almost! :)

Comment by Pat in Minnesota

Alisyn,

Guys like me just don’t call girls like Lilian Garcia. Where would I find that number????

Comment by Beth

Brian is so fun. What a lovely family. I was very impressed he could name all those players (first and last names). Hope he’s had enough “monkey” now. :)

Comment by Mike Malone

Marshall,

Brian’s wife’s name is Dawn. She has to be one of the most patient and long suffering women on the planet. She must truly love Brian, because there is no way he is rich enough to put up with being married to him.

What, no pics of Maureen from her birthday? We want to see the pretty makeup artist! ;)

Comment by DogOnCrack

Mike, I guess this makes two of us that have become bored with DG.

Wish I could be 44 again.

Usted es muy hermoso en sombreros. ¡Muchas gracias por compartir!!

English translation: WOW!

Comment by Sheila

Yeah, I agree…WOW. I didn’t even get a party like that when I turned 40. Brian did really good naming the kids by first and last names, that totally surprised me, too.
So…happy birthday Brian…belated now I suppose.

Comment by Kathy in Tx

Congrats AJ!!!! AJ now ranks higher than Greg Kelly in My book! He is the guy that opens the blog when you are gone Ali!

Yes football and beer… Steelers in particular.. LOl Do you have a favorite team? That will be a good game… where are they playing? or is it an old one?

Comment by chas

A Steelers fan. Where do you live, if I may ask?

chas

Comment by Lori

Grew up in Pittsburgh, moved to NY, then Tx for 10 years now Michigan..;-)

Comment by Lori

Wow you are a Steelers fan too?????? Welll it all makes perfect sense than..LOL

Comment by chas

It is a game from last season. NFL Network replays the best 5 games of each week of the last season.

And I am a Packers fan and have been since the early 60’s.

Comment by chas

Steelers are my favorite AFC team.

Hey you should be a Lions fan then…lol

Comment by Lori

Ah I thought so, but they have those pre pre pre season games some times like in Japan or something..LOl Thought maybe I was missing something..

I got cited thought you were a Steelers fan..LOl But I like the Pack too..

I have followed my Steelers since the beginning.. even throught the dark Mark Malone years..LOL

Comment by Lori

MMMMMMM not so much on the Lions..LOl I was at the Dallas Steeler game a couple of years ago, and there were more Steeler fans there than cowboy fans..LOL was great..LOL

Comment by Virginia

Ah! I feel soooooooo smart. Hello again :)
Lori…I got a house keeper for a present too. I railed a bit, silly person that I am, thinking I had to clean for the cleaning lady, however it was a most excellent experience. I don’t have…well, that’s not true! The baby girl comes to take care of grandpa, and now me for a minute (I hope!), and she cleans and does laundry, so I still have a “cleaning lady”. And it is wonderful! I also love to cook, altho the hubby is a wonderful cook also, so the cooking is fun and we can do parties well, as we work in concert beautifully. I am willing to let him be in charge for those events! That’s prob why? I am sure that is so. :)

Comment by chas

I feel your pain. The Packers had a couple of bad decades, not seasons, decades…lol

Comment by chas

Glad you found us Ms. Virginia.

Comment by Lori

OH its a great pressie Virginia! Its one of my only indulgences .. hahahahah welllll almostg my only..LOL

Yes the pack has had there troubles..LOl I thought they were in there last season though had 5 bucks on the game..LOl

Comment by Virginia

Jimmy…the hubby does most of the store shopping and has for years really. He likes to go, does a great job, and is stronger than I, so the many bags that used to be anyway, were much easier for him than me. I must have tricked him in to that? I don’t know…I think it was sleeping babies all the time that caused that most amazing thing to happen. Did you read my post regarding stores and moving product and my sis before you scooted to boot? :)

Comment by chas

Say Ms. Virginia, have you taken your computer lesson yet?

Comment by Lori

Chas, how did you guys do in the draft? Get anyone exciting?

Comment by chas

We picked up 2 excellent QB and a good CB.

But to be honest we didn’t need very much, except for Favre to come back of course…lol

Comment by Lori

Oh yes thats right I remember now.

We on the other hand have some gaps. I am still worried about our O-line. We did get a couple of weapons to help Ben along though, so that should help Ward out and hopefully won’t take such a beating this year.

Comment by Virginia

My sports experience does not go past the great Buckeyes and college ball….which is sprinkled with much conversation relating to WHAT HAPPENED AND WHO IS THAT AND ARE WE WINNING? I am not sure that the hubby wishes I would shut up and bring the chips and other good things to eat! :)

Comment by Lori

Well friends, I need to start my day.

One of my daughters got a lab puppy to help her with the transition to Texas (after us swearing NO MORE DOGS!) and of course she is still in bed and “grand-ma” is babysitting puppy.. LOl SOOOOOOO I’m off

Enjoy your day everyone, and don’t blow up anymore servers! LOL

PS Chas, I read the posts from last night, and yes I do disagree with you..LOL Surprise.. !

xoxoxoo ttfn

Comment by chas

Yea, Ben looked like Favre did 2 years ago, running for his life every other play…lol

That is why I was so sure he’d come back he was one of the least sacked QBs last year.

Oh well, it had to happen one day. I just hope he doesn’t regret the choice.

I think the Steelers will do pretty well this year, though if I recall they have a pretty tough schedule.

Comment by Virginia

No Chas…not yet as I was busy sending you an e-mail and worrying about the Ali-blog and whether I was stuck in the land of no conversation!!!! I am on my third cupa now, and will tend to this. Hubby won’t be back until around one thirty or later…singing multiple times for several masses and praying frantically that I am HEALED and his moment of cooking and doing strange other household things is over soon!!!! and he can get back to a normal? life!! Whatever that is…:)

Comment by chas

Have a great day Ma’am. And I disagree that you should disagree…lol

Comment by Lori

THE WORST schedule! We play everyyyy playooffff team..LOl don’t get me started on that, pisses mer off more than a republican..;-P .LOl we could go 0 and 7

Comment by Virginia

Bye Lori. I await your list of wonderful delightful Mother’s day things and events! lol

Comment by chas

OK, Ms. Virginia, I am just wondering how good the directions are and the ease of following.

chas

Comment by chas

Could be worse, you could end up 4-12 like the Pack did 2 years ago…lol

Comment by Virginia

Chas…between the crashed blog and the change to this spot, Elaine will never find us I fear. Hopefully she goes in anyway, and looks. lol

Comment by chas

I have faith in Ms. elaine’s tracking abilities. ;)

Chas….I am sure they are very well presented and I will be able to do this if I read and follow the directions..:) The reading and following being the key to all of this, of course! :) You will be the first to know I assure you :)

Her lap top is giving her fits…it won’t turn off. oops! :) We are so dumb in the puter area…lol

Comment by Virginia

I am instructing her to push the wonderful F5…nothing is happening….

Comment by chas

Try using the task manager. Hit ALT CTRL DEL at the same time a couple of times.

That should being up the manager and you can shut down from there.

Comment by Virginia

Ok…I pause..

Comment by chas

OK, I will fetch my Newspaper.

Comment by Virginia

She is doing that….is it still not turning off…in that it comes right back up..hitting escape…she is afraid of losing info as this is work puter as well…ah! progress…task manger is up..now what do you do with the task manager screen?

Comment by Virginia

another error report behind the manager screen…stopped expectantly? She will call her friend..Brian can help her..he’ll come and that is better lol

Comment by chas

The menu bar at the top will have a shut down option. It differs with the window version so you might have to look around for it.

Comment by Salvatore

Good Morning Alisyn and Friends,
Hey Chas and Lori, I also like the Steelers.
Sal

Comment by Virginia

Her screen is all white now and there is nothing at all!!! lol She is going to call Brian….lol

we are having very windy weather here….most of the tornado warnnings have been canceled for now….all moved east

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

everyone must be getting ready for church or to call or see their mothers

Comment by chas

Welcome back Mr. Adams.

How’d the computer thing work out Ms. Virginia?

Comment by Virginia

JIMMY….we are here. I am typing reading an talking to my sis…lol

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

hey Chas…thought Virginia and I were alone in here

Comment by chas

I’m scanning the Sunday paper, so I might be a bit slow to respond.

Comment by Virginia

White screen and calling Brian right in a minute….lol

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

that’s fine…..my wife usually has most of the paper until around this time

Comment by chas

I have the Washington Post so most of the news isn’t of much interest.

Comment by Virginia

some F5 going on~~~~sis is gone and is not blown away to the land of Oz this time anyway! :)

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

we just get a couple of locals and sometimes the Atlanta paper

Comment by Virginia

We don’t get the paper anymore. Hubby reads it on line and maybe picks up the Sunday paper,,,,or not. We have but one, so he just doesn’t bother anymore. I thought he would miss it big time as he was one of those that covered it from front to back, but, seems not. He prob looks at it at work, however, so he is getting his fix? We, of course, need to check to obitz to make sure we have survived the nite? :) Yep! lol

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

get most of my news on Fox and sometimes CNN…just to see how different they are…love tv news cause it’s always there when you want it

Comment by chas

Comment by Virginia

Geezzz…my comment is not there or I don’t see it. The lap top is in the land of white screen Chas, so sis is calling her friend Brian to come and look at it…her puter guru person. It will be fine. She did all that was instructed with no luck…? Oh welllllll…He can fix whatever is wrong I am sure. At least she didn’t throw it against the wall!!!
FOX allert…MI is getting hit very hard…:( Some deaths..really bad. I is raining in Ohio, same storm, of course. We get them all in varying stages of fury. Jimmmmmmyyyyyy! Do you have a safe place to go??????? lol

Comment by chas

I think we get the paper for the TV Guide…lol

Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA

that’s a very compelling reason

Comment by Virginia

~~~~~oooooo~~~~~thunder and lightening is upon us! Quiet all of a sudden…..(((())))…must look out the window and see what is going on…is the sky green and are the clouds going in the wrong direction??? I’ll be right back!!!!! lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
finally getting a little sun here…but still windy….a new line of storms due later today
Comment by chas
I just heard that two died down your way Mr. Adams
Comment by chas
Cloudy here, grass not drying out so no cutting today either.
Comment by Virginia
It’s all ok…just the normal and usual so far. I really should order one of the other newspapers for him. He prob would like the Wall Street and other good ones out there, and they will send it right to your mailbox. Hadn’t thought about that really….more pondering must be to decide this very important question. Or, I could just not worry about it and be really happy to not deal with allllllll that paper generated by the paper. I am still picking up rubber bands from the days of delivering said papers every very early mornings!!!!!!!! And the carrier bags hang lonely in the garage, neglected and dusty by now. :( Rather sad I think really…but, I do not miss that drive on a rainy cold morning or Sunday when the pap was HuGE, so help was indeed necessary. This part of the culture has also changed. Now one must be an adult to have a route, so the nice kids that delivered and earned scholarship money are a thing of the past. They also were alert and ready to report anything unusual, much like the mailman used to be anyway, and prob still is in some small communities. We have a new person all the time now, and I miss that too…knowing your mail man was nice, and he provided good conversation and stamps from time to tims. Yes, a bit of nostalgic musing going on here!!!!! :)
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
I saw that on Fox….it was south of Macon,GA….about 65 miles north of here
Comment by Virginia
Hubby madly mowed and whacked with the storm in mind, yesterday…so, that is done…one more time…and to be done again as summer is upon us! lol
Comment by Virginia
JIMMMMMMYYYYYY! You do have a safe place to go to????? Yes? lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Virginia…I miss those days too…my wife says I live too much in the past…but some things were better (nicer) in those kinder/gentler days…or at least we thought so…..but I will never give up my computer or cell phone!
Comment by Virginia
More people are dying of cancer…older and better technology,so no surprise, and he is speaking to that…I love the fox doc. He is sooooooooo cool. Wish I could find one like him here!!! Do they exist anymore?? Out there some where I am sure. lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
oh yes…we have a plan on where to go in the house….the hall by the bathroom….pipes in the ground…no windows or pictures, etc….and a small area protected by wall construction, etc…..I just tell my wife that when the siren blows….put on your clothes and shoes….you may want them if the house goes!…we are in a sections that gets fallout from all the Fla hurricanes , and in the off season…we get tornados….but it still a great area…except for the summer heat and humidity
Comment by chas
I try notto think too much about the past. Except for the decline in physical prowes these are some of the best years of my life.
Comment by Virginia
Oh my gosh…it is really rolling and crashing and slamming rain here. Grandpa may never get up!! so dark and dreary.
Son just called to say Hap Moth D. He got me a card, but, has to go to work, so he gave the card to Dawn, to give to Sara, to give to…oh well!!! Too funny. Someone is bringing it over to me.:) What a hoot!!! I love these kids…they are sooooooooo funny and inventive. lol
Comment by chas
Mr. Adams, did I tell you I lived n ear Savannah for 7 years back in the 80’s?
I agree Chas…and I remember hearing my father talk about things that happened 20 or 30 years ago….and I thought that was sad….especially to have been around that long….now I catch myself doing the same thing
but I would not trade the modern marvels…medicine, etc….I remember getting the first polio vacines in the first grade….seems like another century now
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Savannah!…boy you know about southern heat and humidity first hand!
Comment by Virginia
Whew….that took a minute. If I disappear it is because I have lost power and not because I have “fallen out of the wheely chair and can’t get up”….lost power could really happen, altho, doesn’t often.
Jimmy….those memories make us a whole person, and add many nice lines to an already interesting face…yeppers! That is a truth that the twenty year old does not know yet…as well as not knowing who not to vote for and why, of course….:) lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Virginia…exactly….experience is the best teacher (except for when I was teaching, of course…LOL)
Comment by chas
You bet sir. I did roofing there for a couple of years.
I lived just west of the city off HYGW 204. Basically swamp land that went underwater in the spring about every other year.
Comment by Virginia
Is it just usen here right now? Elaine prob can’t find us, and Sheila is enjoying breakfast in bed I am absolutely sure!!!!! Where is Will? If it is raining like this he is not in his hammock with the fire pit..:( poor baby. Ah…someone is here, or grandpa is up…I must wheely fast to see who lurks…….ah, it’s grandpa…not the messenger with my card! lol
Comment by chas
I am of a mind that believes that youth is wasted on the young…lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Chas…roofing work in Savannah!!!….were you being punished for something….we don’t even make prisoners do that (well…not since the 1920s anyway)….and were there mosquitoes and gnats to help make your day even more pleasant?
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Chas….wish I knew then what I know now!…think that’s in a Rod Stewart song
Comment by chas
I was in my 30’s then so it didn’t really bother me all that much. But the locals made fun of me because I “Worked like a yankee”, not the slow easy going worker of the south to be sure.
I also did siding and just about any construction work that came along. Then went back into the Army for a few years.
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Chas…the last time I was in Savannah….close to the river…there were large, stinging flies of some sort that wouldn’t allow us to walk around the old fort groounds
Comment by chas
Also a variation of a Toby Keith song, “Wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then”
But I know what you mean, but I’m sure many things would never had happened if I did. ;)
Comment by chas
Sand gnats most likely. Yea, they can be tough. I’d be standing gates at Hunter Army Air Field and wsh my arms after shift and the water would turn black from the number of dead ones on my arms.
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
yep…experience might just be the best teacher!
You must be fairly close to my age if you were 30 in the 80s too
I was born born in 1950….so the math makes me 58 now!!! Can’t believe my 40th class reunion is coming up this summer!
Comment by chas
We have them here in MD too, but here they call them no-see em’s. Basically a mouth with wings…lol
Comment by chas
Yes we are close, I was born in 53, so I am 55.
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Good one….I like that “a mouth with wings”
Comment by Virginia
Ah, no you don’t. You’d go running into the night for sure the end is not near, but hear!!!!!!!!! re:what I know now then….lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Virginia…you are confusing me…I didn’t quite get that last one….but maybe it’s because we just started on the Sunday morning Bloody Marys
Comment by Virginia
See, everyone is about the same age. Of course, I gave mine away already with my run to get my SS the minute I can!!!! So, I will be 62 in July, and I expect many, many, many…etc, wishes of long life and health coming from all of you, starting at the beginning of the month and continuing on until the end!!! of the month, that is!!! :) :) I am a middle child, remember? lol
Comment by Virginia
I must scan Jimmy..as my short term is very bad and, as usual I can’t remember what I might have said? :) :) I will look and explain, if I can figure out what I said also, which could be an issue for me at any given time…yeppers!! :)
Comment by chas
Wife is off shopping for present for herself on Mom’s day…lol
I’m certain daughter will be by but she’s the only one living in this area.
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
you will get all the best wishes…the middle child needs them….I was (and still am, to my mother, the baby …2 older brothers) even at my age….and my mother is 88!…so hope that means I’ll be around also
Comment by Virginia
I must have been responding to old head on young shoulders comment? Yes, that must be it. And I stick to my guns on that, having pondered that question from time to time. I am sure God thought that was not a good plan either, so kicked it to the curb, much like poor Hillary has been done?
Grandpa wants to know what happened to his mom and dad. Can’t remember quite just the circumstances of his life as a kid today. I wonder what is causing all this nostalgia at this moment? Oh well, it’s fine and does not make me sad…as the memories are actually very good. Everyone was tended to with a happy heart, so no bad things…just life and it’s journey. lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Chas…you dog!…you didn’t get your wife a present….at least a gift certificate?…bad Chas…there will be no peace in your house today LOL
Comment by chas
I’m the oldest of 2. Mother has been dead for over 15 years.
Comment by chas
We don’t have kids together. She expects nothing from me on this day as I don’t expect anything from her on Father’s Day.
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
I always wished to be the oldest….to get to rule the roost over the younger ones….the way my brothers did to me often….but I oftn got more sympathy…which they resented….so I guess it evened out
Comment by Virginia
That’ all right…you have two months to ponder all the lovely things that are necessary to satisfy my selfish nature of thinking my birthday is the most important event of that year as well as this!!!!! I have tried to instill that firmly in the children’s mind!!! Altho, I might not have been entirely successful. I forge forward, however, confident that I will succeed in this noble, albeit a bit selfish, endeavor!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)
When I turned sixty, my hubby filled the house with yellow roses for his Yellow Rose of Texas bride. I just laughed and had the best time. I am really glad he still likes me after all these years and all these kids, and life in general periodically getting in the way! lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Chas…not a critcism…whatever works…works
This is a second marriage for my wife and myself….we have no kids together either….she has a daughter and son, and I have one son….when we got married they were all teenagers….we were just glad to survive that, their college, marriages, etc…..but we still gift each other….I guess for each being good to the other’s child….not preaching….that just works for us
Comment by chas
I didn’t take it as something bad sir, just explaining. This is my second time around also. We have 6 between us though. She has 3 sons, 1 daughter and I have 2 daughters.
Comment by Virginia
Aw Chas….you be confused. It is a day to celebrate Mother’s as is the same for the next, Father’s day. Any mother, any father. A Hallmark moment we know, but, attached is much fun and frivolity and a moment to contemplate the mothers around us, both our own and friends, that made life a little safer and fun along the way……visions of….cookies at Christmas, candy on the stove bubbling and ready to pour for peanute brittle…little present fr said mom’s to their favorite friend of child…oh my! One of Hallmarks more noble endeavors I think, and I still celebrate those that were in my life and made such a positive impact on it. lol Do you feel totally schooled now, and chided thoroughly??? I certainly hope sooooooooooooo…yeppers..I am right on this one, another thing I had to tell the hubby person very firmly as he started down this path of strange thinking. :) :) lol
Comment by Virginia
I loooovvvveeee the middle invisible spot. :)
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Chas….wow….6….we thought we had it hard with 3….you should take the day off and let the kids do for you if they are close by
My wife’s daughter is in Augusta, her son in only about an hour away, but my son and his wife live in New York….expecting their first child in mid June….so I guess we are off to New York then
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Virginia, the first year my wife and I were married….I planted a raised bed with roses for her, too….I especially liked the Audrey Hepburn roses (I’m still in love with Hepburen)…in fact the old Cary Grant/ Audry Hepburen film “Charade” is on now…one of my favorites
Comment by chas
Kids are all over. Mine are in PA. Her daughter lives in town about 20 minutes away. The boys are all over the place…lol I can’t keep track of where thye are, always seem to be moving.
We live “in the valley” here in Col., Oh and the storms, altho loud and crashing from time to time, skip right over or around us a lot. It sometimes sounds way worse on the weather channel than it might be right where I am sitting. It is, however, amazing enough, an old regular Indian camp…yes, it is. And, as a result, the army of old had a fort around this area where the house reposes, unharmed loe these many, many years. Grandma may have been right. She did, after all, come to the Okla territory in a covered wagon…she may have known a few little thingys as a resut??? lol
Comment by Virginia
Oh my God…..she is on the list of keepers for sure. My mouth waters at the contemplation and my mind is merry with the lovely visions you have described!!!!!!! A cookie will definitely not due!!! As you see by now…nope..The Ohio valley..Columbus particularly. The state capital, as you prob know, however you would be surprised the people who don’t and think it is Cincinnati. Of course, we are still a bit of a cow town…that being our reputation and not soon to get fixed it would appear. Our syphony is finding it hard to find corporate support, and the businesses are moving out of the city to out lying corporate lines. Too bad…but, the mayor is stupid? Yes, I think he must be for sure. We have a river front that is not developed as it should be due to not supporting private monies, now the symphony, the shopping mall place is closing..same…too much money without a tax break. Maybe I should run and fix all this????? hummmm…should ponder this me thinks…lol
Comment by Virginia
I have it on FOX….I must listen as we chat. I am wanting to see some pic of this most wonderful albeit private event. dashing to turn t.v. up….wheelying I mean!!! :) :) lol
Comment by PAT NEW PORT RICHEY FL
i am surprised to hear businesses and such are moving out of the capiatl city that usually draws businesses
Comment by Virginia
I do like Susan Estrich. She has her head on straight all the time. I wish they would put her on with Hannity and take the Colmes off. He is such an idiot talking in circles, as many of them that would be an apologist, and gives the dems a bad reputation. She is smart and altho I may not agree with her politics, I certainly like to listen to her views. She does not talk in circles, so I don’t have this huge urge to throw something at the t.v. or change the channel until she is finished. lol So, our pres is going to be on in a minute? Kevin is speaking about all things political first, I guess…more of the same…again. We will dash when the wedding stuff comes on. Chas will be glad to not have to listen to girl talk re weddings me thinks…:):) Shiela didn’t come on today at all and I just imagine that is what is happening…I am sure we will get to know. Your MO day is going well too, so that is good. Mine is also going great as well with all the phone calls and some visits I am sure. The sun is out this minute for a minute, so at least it is not raining sheets any more. lol
Comment by PAT NEW PORT RICHEY FL
i always wished i could be an organizer and get out and os something good to change things sometimes it just seems like its common sense and not so complicated i am a good organizer but not a good delegator
why eveything doesnt get fixed without all the chaos escapes me
Comment by Virginia
They are just moving to friendlier territory. Still here, just not downtown. They have encouraged some apt living with condo’s and loft spaces available for purchase and newish nice housing around our lovely parks, but, I am telling you, the mayor is a dem and an idiot on every level and just doesn’t get it. Oh well…I have heard some murmurings of higher office being sought, so maybe we will have someone with a brain next time around. I know it is difficult to run a city…it was hard enough to run my own little “city”, but some things should just be self evident if one wishes to have a thriving enterprise. Oh well…back to Captains and Kings, and their plans that do not include us?? Yep…that’s it lest we forget and think we are in charge at all. lol
Comment by Virginia
After we get past that most lovely moment in youth when we think we can feed allllllll they hungry, we settle down into knowing that if we take care of our family and as a result, then our community and our church, all can get done…and it does, amazingly, as we watch the hungry fed and the needy clothed. I am glad to be past that youthful moment of panic and comfortalbe with the knowledge that the poor and hungry you will have with always and there will be wars and rumors of wars…so we tend and see to what we can, and love our family and friends, and our country….yes, we are doing alright, despite the Captains and the Kings who would put us asunder could they manage that. Yep! Forward into the breech, laying waste our enemy in the wake. No fear I say!!! lol Geezzz…they are back to the polar bear scam…lol
Comment by Virginia
I am in the land of F5 again.,,,Pat! I think you did all the above of organization and wonderful gifts to your family and community. After all, there you sit with chocolate strawberries and bananas!! Yes! A most magnificent tribute I think! lol
Comment by Virginia
I continue to muse…The pres and Laura were magnificent. Now, she is a doll as well as a lady isn’t she??? It is nice he took the time to wish us all well, and pray for those who are victims of storms and other calamity. A smart nice person all the way around. Or at the very least, a smart wife picker???? Yep, I think so and that speaks volumes on it’s own. lol
Comment by Virginia
Ten minutes have passed so I think you must also be in the land of F5 also Pat. I will continue to monitor and F5….as I listen to FOX and do a little straightening….the table in the kitchen is over run with mail and things, so I guess I could put is all in a basket and see at least what is there that needs attention perhaps. lol
Comment by Virginia
As I continue to muse into the darkness…..the pics are great and doesn’t everyone look Beautiful!!!!! Laura’s dress is gorgeous and the bride is absolutely gorgeous! Very nicely done, yes!!! I am glad they are out, for us old nosy ladies!!!
Back to the polar bear scam…oh my, what a mess. They are not threatened, their population is growing. Geezzz! Science in conflict for sure. Tell the wackos to go away already! lol
If you are looking at the weather map I work at the 315 at 23 in the Delaware Worhington area…tornado sirens going off…much scampering on toes and sore ankle is swelling and grandpa and I sit and wait for the storm……we are in Franklin Co, but the storm is ugly looking but thirty or forty miles away…the funnels that is. A few sighted west of us about thirty mi. and south about fifteen mi. Trackers are out, and sirens are blaring!!!! Excitement reighns in Columbus today!!!! Yikes!!! Basement available…no worries..I can scamper on sore foot and grandpa can run if necessary…lol
Comment by chas
She’s heard from her daughter this morning. Nothing from the boys as of yet.
She went out and bought herself some presents for the celebration…lol
Since we talk so often, I want to give you an e-mail addy. It’s a throw away I use when I am uncertain of security, so I can post it here and not worry.
Should any of your efforts towards QOV you can reach me there instead of here.
efsherm@hotmail.com
Don’t post an addy of yours here. That can be done through the throw away addy. ;)
Comment by Virginia
Pat and Chas and all. winds have picked up and is very dark, however, being an Okla girl, nothing is green yet, so I am at peace. Where oh where is hubby tho??? He should be pulling in the driveway in a moment. Church is downtown…no tornadoes there. lol
Comment by chas
Ms. Virginia you best be careful. Don’t want anything to happen to you.
Comment by PAT NEW PORT RICHEY FL
chas thanks for that what is a throw away address. all my kids have called in and sent the flowers and such so my heart is warmed that i am still well loved
actually i pout if i dont get the calls so they have learned it is just easier to placate me and give me a call
Comment by Virginia
Naaaahhhh…not likely…sirens continue to blare, but the storm is passing as it usually does. It has cooled off and people are calling with scary reports. I am an excellent storm watcher tho, so no worries. I do know the sights and sounds that accompany these events. Da is home safely…the children are all home and safe..some nieces in the path, but, I am sure they are paying attention. Ah, one more kid called. Geezz! would they make up their mind already!!!! Another funnel to the west of us about thirty mi…and north about thirty miles…whatever!!!!!! lol I’m sitting in Indian territory so I have NO FEAR!!!! :) :) lol
Comment by PAT NEW PORT RICHEY FL
stay safe virginia
Comment by chas
A throw away is an addy that I don’t care about. It isn’t traceable to me and if it gets spammed or anything is of no concern.
It is good to have one if you are unsure of who you are dealing with or if you need a addy for other things.
Newark is far east of me…a funny little trip. Used to have a friend who lived there……touchdown north in Delaware..north east of me. We have the local channel on and so I am missing wedding pics!!!! :( :( Well…yes! Much flying debre if it would hit my house! Everything I own is hanging up on the wall…a peek into my personality?? Comment by chas
Enjoy the meal MOM. I will look forward to your return. :)
Comment by Virginia
I was, however, going to go up and put on something different than my jammies, however, I will prob wait until this passes to do that. The baby is on his way over. Needs his weekly milk fix!!!!! That is three down and three to go, I think. I may have lost track tho, what with the scurrying and scampering whilst the sirens blared!!! lol If I go with no notice, it means that the power went, much like last nite????? :)
Comment by Virginia
Wellllllll Pat? I don’t know…maybe, but, I think more a person to figure out the easiest route around any problem…no conflict would be my motto. lol
Comment by Virginia
Pat…food cooked and served by someone else, a most wonderful event at any time!!! Enjoy for sure….yes!
The shortest route around a problem is a necessary skill with all these people and a middle child ability given to us by God to handle the bossy first and the very spoiled baby! Yes…very smart of God to think of that….lol
Comment by chas
Looks like it is just you and I Ms. Virginia.
Perhaps this would be a good time to practice cut and paste. ;)
Comment by Virginia
I got side tracked what with said blaring sirens and much loud thunder and lightening and ferocious rain….so, I have neglected my lesson for a minute. Looks like they have continued the warning, but, not in Franklin anymore. We watch and listen and wait to make sure all is well. It is unlikely the storm would come into the city this far. Only about three miles from downtown, so the city acts as a buffer. The storm would have to be mighty and ferocious to jump over the city heat bumper that protects us, as well as the Indians and the spirits which preside, of course. :) lol
Bogie and the Duke. My 2 favorites
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
Casablabca!….yes….and my favorite Wayne film is The Quiet Man
Comment by Virginia
I can’t remember his name either Chas, but, there is more than one out there. They just risk huge recrimination if they speak out to the theory of being taught as not. This is alllllll attached to the monies given for research…always follow the money. It is amazing how a whole scientific community can be blackmailed and hijacked. I would have thought they would have stood in unison against such a thing. Oh well…money talks..always has. We are back to listen, think, discern as the rule of the day. lol
Comment by chas
Duke, his last film The Shootest Bogie hard to say, Casablanca, Aferican Queen, too many to pick from
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
just sa Afircan Queen last weekend….had forgotten how good it was….love Hepburn…both of them…but esp. Audrey Hepburn
Comment by chas
Years ago, when this stuff started people laughed at me when I said it was about the money.
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
How about Sabrina?…that had Boogie and Hepburn…not to mention Holden
I seem to recall you saying so, that’s why I picked that one to mention…lol
Boogey was great in that too
Comment by Virginia
Oh, me too Jimmy! Cable, Grant, Hepburn, Davis, O’Hara, Wayne, Randolph Scott~~sigh~~~the list is endless and so much fun. The movies were fun and a lot of them were not high dollar and just spoke to the moment of war and peace and love and honor and…etc. Yes, a lovely thing for sure. My spellliiiggg needs help! Quiet Man is one we have on the shelf as a favorite. They have done some good stuff tho, and I have all that too. I like the Indiana Jones stuff, and we all enjoyed the Star Trek and Capt Kirk as well as some of the newer versions..not all..Star Wars..yes! Movie land..a most pleasant place to be from time to time. The world gets so frantic one must escape!!! lol
Comment by chas
Pardon me while I feed the 4 legged kids and get the ham in the oven. OOOPPPSSS, gotta get the clothes out of the dryer too. Back in a couple.
Comment by Virginia
Anything Audrey was wonderful. She made movies with everyone that was important I think. What a lady she was, and her life certainly reflected that. lol Unlike the antics of today which causes one to maybe not enjoy something as much as they might. George Clooney should shut up and make his movies. Another which I have a hard time enjoying because of that notion that he must speak out…a right for sure, but maybe not wise? lol
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
got to go for a while too….but I’ll ive you a good game to play with someone (even on email)….been playing this for years…..take turns naming one word films in alphabetical order….A – Anastasia, B – Bewitched, C – Cleopatra……etc.
Comment by Jimmy Adams in Pelham, GA
I’m still in love with Audrey…and I think my wife is jealous!…Back later!
Comment by Virginia
Mildred Pierce…a classic by a classy lady. Hubby is watching Indiana Jones right now, tho he has seen it many times. I am waiting for the new one. I also like the Mummy movies with the lovely…well, what’s his name..ah! Brandon Frazier? Anyway..they were a throwback..excellent construction and execution, and so fun to watch. I was so surprised too. My son brought them over and said..mom you will like these. I told him I just didn’t think so….well, he was right and I do. Reminded me of days of yore and Sat morning at the movies for 25cents, cowboys and all things sweet available from the concession stand! Yes…so fun! lol
Comment by Virginia
Well yes!!!!! We all are I promise. We watch her with wistful thoughts and a desire to look like her for just a moment. Yes, she is! :) lol
Comment by chas
Back to just you and I Ms. Virginia. People are going to start talking about us…lol
It must be cool in here, wife is wearing socks…lol
Comment by Virginia
I am surprised anyone would laugh when the money was the reason suggested for this strange event of the scientific community. That said, biiiiigggg money attached. Anyone who is paying half attention knows about the funding for research. That is the big question which attaches itself to all of this. Who and why this strange move away from the pure science which should be present at all times…the search for and the proof of? Yes, that is the question. I feel strongly it is the devil himself…literally I mean…who is mukking around as usual. I just heard another film maker with a movie out re: Mary Magdalene and Jesus and the marriage of…geezzz! And arguing with father whats his name who is so polite. The movie maker sits there fat and frowzy looking, not sitting straight and he wants me to take his stupid remarks seriously? Geeezz, yet again! lol
Comment by Virginia
Jimmy scooted and I was just answering one of his comments. Bye Jimmy…see ya later.
Chas…still no lesson yet. The baby is here raiding the milk, but, he brought delicious candy….cherries and chocolate…yum!!! I await my coffee to drink with the candy..foot is still aching. Prob should take a pain med! ouchy!!! Such a baby I am..another middle child thingy!! LOL
Ice??? I need sockkkkkkssss! My piggies are cold! Sheesh…well, maybe an icepack on the sock foot would be a good plan. lol
Comment by chas
I wish I could e-mail you a pair that Eileen knits. My girls love them for keeping feet toasty warm.
Comment by Virginia
A necessary thing in our global warming situation…right??? Sheesh! This candy is sooooooooo good. I will be full when it is time to eat!!!! lol
Comment by chas
I ate cookies after getting out of the hospital because I lost 40 pounds and needed to gain the weight back. Once it was back on I went back to no sweets. I never did like sweet things.
Comment by Virginia
I am off to see the orthopedic person on Wed I think so we can figure out exactly what is going on here with this ankle. It is taking too long to heal, and so something is amiss I fear. Not too much tho, we hope. lol Do you have the steaks on yet? Hubby has not started cooking yet here….but, I look forward to a most excellent meal, yet again. lol
Comment by chas
I have a ham in the oven.
I hope nothing is too wrong. But we are older and things take longer than they use to.
Comment by Virginia
~~~~oooo~~~~I love all things candy…all of it, that which is good and that which is prob not! :) When I am really aged I expect to eat nothing but said sweets!!! Yes..that is my plan.
I had surgery on my mouth….nope! Not to sew it shut! However I think hubby was tempted…:):) another funny story of my youth which you must remind to tell all….anyway, knowing I would be wired up for a minute I went on a campaign of just eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted..so candy for brkfst lunch and dinner and in between. I did indeed loose copious amts of weight, so was glad to have the extra so as to not look like a skeleton. Happily ate myself up to the acceptable poundage, and so I am careful not to eat too much candy, but, I do love it for sure!!! My brother doesn’t like candy either and neither do two of my boys. A strange phenomena I always thought…a boy thing, perhaps???? lol

`

Comment by Virginia

Definitely no falling after twenty five!!!!! And we knew that, and now we KNOW that! Sheesh…lol

Comment by chas

I don’t think it’s a guy thing. Most guys I know like pie and cake, just not me.

I went from 175 to 140 in a few weeks. I had to walk around with a brick in my pocket in case a strong wind came along.

Comment by Virginia

I wonder what happened with word press. One would think they would be ready for lots of stuff. lol

Comment by chas

I’m sure like most things it requires to be worked on from tme to time.

Comment by chas

You must be hunting for a pair of socks…lol

Comment by Virginia

I bet you did. That is a lot…let me think. I prob lost about twenty easy, I guess. Been a while and I wasn’t hurt like you. This was surgery on the pallet to correct the open bite. I wore braces as a youth, so I had excellent placement of teeth, but, couldn’t eat a lettuce and tomato without great skill of thumbs nimbly placed to keep said sandwich from lap! :) It was a subtle thing which no one was aware of due to very good dental care as a youth. The teeth did move into place, but, did not stay there because of “tongue” thrust…your tongue is a very strong muscle. It took a minute, but, the teeth had gradually moved….open bite resulting. The dentist wanted to fix this so as when the teeth started down the falling out part of my life to come, I would be able to have the plate, false or whatever, easily fitted. Would not have happened if the pallet were not fixed. So, that’s the story. No almost fatal accident..a preemtary measure for future dental work…so I would be buuuteeeusss in my old age!!!!! lol

Comment by Virginia

Nope…I am just very windy? Yes, that is it. The reason everyone is happy I am blogging? Yes….lol

Comment by chas

I’ve been saving so I can have mine removed. Lost the gene war with a family history of good health, bad teeth. I managed to keep my long than most but they are way beyond repair.

I hope to have the money before I retire. Then my teeth can sleep in a jar next to me at night…lol

Comment by Virginia

I won’t go away without saying so. I don’t think we are looking at a power out now. The weather seems to be ok…storms have moved on. I alway have my cell, which can e-mail, tho I have never tried it! If I disappear, something like that would be the reason….wordpress..well, we would all be gone in that case? Yep, we know that for sure! Anything else would have to be an event re power issues. I sent the hubby for a pair of socks and am now warm and cozy…no ice, but, I took a tylenol and it has stopped aching. lol

Comment by chas

I am glad your ice piggies are warm and toasty…lol

Comment by Virginia

Chas! You are so funny. You are right however. I keep telling people this is an issue of gene pool more than any other. They don’t believe, but, it is true. I had excellent care of said teeth from the beginning, and still the inevitable has arrived, as predicted loe those many years ago. I am sure the different better pastes and things attached to tooth care has made it better, but, that said….yep! I am not where you are thinking you might be yet, but, the plate has arrived so small things have started to happen. I am not interested in the newer whataever they are doing that costs as much as a house. Same maintenance issues and the cost is greater. They do have some great choices out there for people and I hope you are exploring all of them. lol

Comment by Virginia

Da is starting the steaks and is worried that their is no sour cream for the tators. He is so sweet…told him I needed it not at all. Was happy with copious amts of butter and salt and pepper…yummmy!!!! I anxiously await the feast to come, so I will LAY OFF THE CANDY ((()))~~~((())), yes I will!!!! :( lol

Comment by Virginia

Well…not the steaks yet…first the baked tators in the oven..yummy. No short cuts today! lol

They are on the sub now in the Indiana movie..Raiders of the Lost Ark. It is fun to listen to as well as to watch….well, it would be for me. I have seen it a thousand and one times, so I don’t think I even need to watch it at all!! :) :):) Maybe I do have time for more candy after all!! Yes, I think I surely doooooo!!!! :) :)

Comment by chas

I missed the sale of baby back ribs at the local store. Regret that, I love them but you can’t find them too often. At least at a price you can afford.

Love a good steak, but the weather isn’t good for grilling. It just started to rain here.

In passing…as long as they go back in upon waking!!!! No keeping of the teeth while walking around my son!!! Until you are very very aged that is. :) :) Or there will be much gnashing of teeth from the lovely quilt maker!!! lol

Well, that sentence did not make sense, but, you get the jist! Teeth in the mouth and not by the bed in a jar? Yes…that was the message. lol

Comment by chas

lol, as long as they are comfy. I have some that hide the ugly, but I can only wear them for so long.

I’m hopeful that a good pair will be easier to wear.

Comment by Virginia

I don’t know how he is going to fix them, but, it is wet here, so I suspect he is going to fix them in the convection oven, which does a superior and very excellent job. It is part of the micro-wave that I bought about five yrs ago, and then we lost the instruction book for a while. It has been found and now he is having an excellent time with this delightful new thing. I have not played with it at all, but he has with great success. lol
I love the music from this movie! It is sooooooooo good. I must search for the cd so I can listen, thereby picture the movie when I listen to it. Yes…why have I not done this??? Geezz! DVR’s and tivos and other electronic things are dancing in my head!!! :)

Comment by chas

I’m watching an old Bruce Willis move called Striking Distance.

Then I hope to watch the Packers game from last season.

Comment by Virginia

Oh Chas…they should be so comfortable that you forget they are in your mouth. The dentist that I go has an artist as his tech person. I am serious about that. I completely forget it is in my mouth. Completely…you have not been fitted correctly, and that is a shame. If you do not tell him tho, he has no way of knowing. They can play with it until it does fit…you should see to that next time you venture in. Really…you should. There is absolutely no reason for not being absolutely comfortable and able to eat everything from gummy bears to apples. lol

Comment by Virginia

When Lori reads this she is going to have to stop and laugh herself silly!!!! Well…when any of the gang read this their smiley lines are going to get a major work out!!!!!!!!! lol Teeth and things! lol

Comment by Virginia

Striking Distance is excellent. Have you seen it? I won’t tell you how it ends if you haven’t. lol

Comment by chas

But these are not professional things. only cosmetic I buy on-line,

The have no function other than looks, you can’t do anything with them otherwise.

Comment by Virginia

Geeeeezzzzzzzz! Bought on line? Now my smiley lines are getting a work out! You are hilarious! lol I didn’t even know one could do that altho, I guess one can buy anything on line! lol Not from e-bay I hope? Estate sale or something? Oh, you have had it now. I may just have the best time with this! I am positive I should be able to get a smile out of Lori with this one by the time I am thru with it! lol :) :):):):

Comment by Virginia

sshhhhhhhhhhh! whisper…I don’t want the hubby to know there is a game on! I will have to assert myself as the t.v. upstairs does not have this on demand function…lol

Comment by chas

Thanks, nothing like a friend to help you out. Geeez. Wasn’t that long ago I had very little money trying to pay off debt and the insurance hasn’t got the best dental.

OK, lost the game to yet another lifetime movie. Oh well it is mother’s day

Comment by Virginia

Okkkaaaaa! I will behave, I prommmmiiiisssseeee (fingers quickly crossed behind my back). lol

Comment by chas

You’d have to have NFL Network to see it and the game started an hour ago…lol

Comment by Virginia

First Wives Club is on. That was a cute and onry movie. Hubby has it on as it the next in line after Raiders, and he just didn’t turn the station. He should like it…was pretty funny and the caste is good. I haven’t seen it in forever, but, the tube is full of really good movies on all the channels what with the big day and all. :)

Comment by chas

Be careful, you know what they say about payback. And I don’t play fair…lol

Comment by Virginia

Do I have that channel? Hummm…I don’t know if I do or not as a matter of fact…not going to ask either..heehee. Don’t want to remind him just in case he forgot! lol

Comment by chas

Not much longer and the ham can come out the oven. Yumm it smells good.

Comment by chas

On Direc TV it is 212…lol

Comment by Virginia

Opps! I may have stepped in it you say? Alllllllllll right!!! I give all ready. Fingers duly uncrossed, so unless I loose my head…did I say unless? you will be safe and sound! lol

Comment by chas

But it is right there anyway for anyone who reads what went on during the day.

Comment by Virginia

No direct t.v. but they are calling daily to say I can have it for a few dollars….more or less. :) :) I have the competition of the Warner Cable…our SBC has WOW with all the amenities, and is much easier to deal with AND does not go out every five seconds like Warner Cable does. I have been happy with the service, so far…that is. lol

Comment by Virginia

I bet we don’t have it. There was a dust up about the showing of the Buckeyes, and it had something to do with the cable co and the powers that be. Everyone had a fit, so they bought time on said whatever, and did show it free, avoiding the rath of the many buckeye’s thru out the nation!!!! :) :) What a group. Don’t want to ask hubby…again, don’t want to remind him he might be missing anything!!! :) :)

Comment by Virginia

I can smell the ham from here…and it does smell yum!!! We love ham, but, don’t fix it often due to much salt and uncomfortable over eating involved…:):)

Comment by chas

I got it because of the internet. The internet out here on dial-up was horrible. So slow that you could clean half the house in the time FOX News site would come up.

Comment by Virginia

I keep expecting one of the gang! Sheila must be done with brkfst by now! :) :) I bet they are giving her a fine time. Hers are all around her still..soooooooo fun!!! :) :)

Comment by chas

I’m an odd person. i will just cook the ham and make sammies.

And the salt, over eating, none of that seems to effect me. Like smoking didn’t seem to effect my health.

Very strange indeed.

Comment by chas

Sheila, elaine, Lori all MIA. :(

Comment by Virginia

Yes…dial up was bad even here in the city. That is why we got the cable. That and grandpa the original news hound. I did not have cable while raising the kids. Never watched daytime t.v. outside of sesame street and other children pbs shows….Star Trek came on about three in the afternoon I guess…re-runs and I would turn that on. Nap time would be over and the school kids were home, so we would have after school treat as dinner was being prepared. The hubby got home later than the average…around 6:15p, so treats were an important thing to have handy, as they had eaten lunch at eleven thirty probably..not much later usually as the school cafeteria had to feed those hungry kids who had brkfst at seven probably or earlier. :)

Comment by chas

I am so far away from anything here that if you don’t have cable or Dish…etc you don’t get TV…lol

Comment by Virginia

They are indeed! Either they cannot find us or they are being catered to by loving children all around and having a riotous time. I suspect that is the case. Mine are working all, and the baby came had his milk and cookie fix, gave me the candy, sat for a second while scarfing said milk and cookie and is off to his job now. So, there you are. I am at peace, as they all have called and I am happy to be here alone with “the boys” that are sooooo nice to me all the time, but, especially since I have been in my wheely chair. I have stayed put too, since scurrying around caused a bit of discomfort!!!!!!!! lol

Comment by chas

Only the daughter so far here. But I am sure sons will follow this evening. They are generally good at that.

Comment by Virginia

Nope…that is not quite true. We all know we should stop the smoking for a lot of reasons….health of course, but, they are dirty and expensive, and take a lot of time too engage with also..one must stop whatever they are doing after all and actually smoke the darn thing (cough cough). There is, however, a gene present that effectively does protect some from the health issues. That is a fact. I suspect that is the case. I just had an x-ray of the lungs, and they are clean as a whistle. Now, that is not to say that nothing could happen, and I will start back at this with an effort to cut waaaayyyyy back, if not quite altogether, but, I am ok today. I am smoking way too much right this minute, and have started coughing again, which had ceased almost completely before this ankle thingy started. I light and leave burning mostly, as I am not inclined to hang them out my mouth…I don’t know…it is just not done!!!! I hope you are relieved that I would at least not do that very unlady like thing? lol :) :):)

Comment by Virginia

I am not expecting anyone to stop. The usual would be a houseful, but not this year it would seem. They would not be working as a rule, but it seems that is the way it is…no complaints in that area either. Employment is very good!!!!! We’ve had some searching of, and are glad all is good in that part of what everyone is doing. Yep, we are. So you are going to have a bunch for dinner? Sandwiches around! Excellent plan! lol

Comment by chas

Yep ham and swiss on a big burger bun.

Comment by Virginia

I should behave myself like your wife. I have done numerous needle work things in the past. I stopped for several reasons that were not important, but, seemed so at the time. My eyeballs being a primary event. It is a matter of having the correct kind for close work and a good lite, which I could have. I should think about the quilting. I would prob enjoy that and I have friends that would prob think that was fun also. Quilting club instead of card club? We aren’t doing either….but, if I start up card club again, we could all do a bit of quilting before cards. It is an all evening event after all. I will have to ponder this…..I bet I could get some interest from a few I know. And even if there were some that didn’t actually want to sew a stitch, they could still be here for the parrrrtttyyyy!!!! Yes! I think this is a brilliant idea. One that may even work, as none of my others have managed to get any enthusiasm!!!!! :) :):)

Comment by chas

Too bad you don’ta live closer. Eileen teaches beginner quilt classes and is going to add an innermedate clas next year.

Comment by Virginia

Now my mouth is watering even with all the candy I have eaten!!! Yes…a marvelous job you have done on this day and you said there was no gift. I think this is a wonderful gift!!!! But, I see that you love her lots, so that is no surprise. I think she got lucky like I did for sure!!
Ah…the last kid has called so all is well. She is exhausted and I told her to snuggle up and watch a movie with something good to eat. It is dark and dreary and cold here. yuk! :) :)

Comment by chas

Did you get the chance to check out her quilts from the link I posted>

Comment by chas

I came out ahead on this one for sure. I married way up this time around.

She has only one flaw.

Comment by Virginia

I prob can do this, really. I have some little experience with it along the way. I wish I did live closer so I could come have a ham sandwich!!!! And Eileen and I would have the best time talking about teeth bought on line and such things whilst quilting madly! I am sure of that! There are classes available over at the center, however, if I have a mind warp…well, I prob will, so I may look and see what is going on over there these days. First the glasses and a lite must be purchased as well as a trip to the fabric store..one of my most fun places to be in days of yore along with the hardware store and the marvelous things to see and buy!!! Yes! But first the ankle must be addressed. Hubby just said they will prob do an MRI…yuk!! Can you smoke whilst in that machine???? :) :)

Comment by Virginia

I checked the link the first nite but have not gone back as I have been busy chatting with yooooooouuuuuu and the gang! I haven’t even done my cut and paste lesson! Sheessssshhhh!!! :) :)

Comment by chas

I don’t think you can smoke in any hospital any more…lol

Comment by Virginia

Opps!! Fire alarm is going off. Alarms all over the place today…..the problems of cooking inside! what should be cooked outside. At least we know the smoke alarms work! :) :) Doesn’t seem smokey….must be my cigs (cough cough)!!!! :) :)

Comment by chas

An Apt. I lived in had an alarm go off all the time. Even the toaster even set it off…lol

Comment by Virginia

I think you are right about that, and neither can you smoke on their property. Yep! Again I ask…where do the doc’s smoke, cause I know they do! Yep, for a fact…so they must engage in said activity in their private office? I must get acquainted and see if I can get access. Oh! I forgot…I am going to STOP THIS. That’s right. I have a plan! And I will implement it as I like the hubby and he has ask me to work on it so I will. :) :) Now, where is that Merlot! Darn it anyway…candy but no alcohol! I must go in search of some that may be around but hidden!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe the hubby has some Jameson somewhere…protecting it from those that would nip at it along the way??? lol

Comment by Virginia

The smoke alarm is still chirping…too funny! But, dinner is progressing with multiple problems attached! Too funny…lol

Comment by chas

I stocked up on beer yesterday. I thought you’d ask what the wifes flaw was…lol

Comment by Virginia

What is the favorite drink for the lady of the house? I like beer too as much as wine….I like it all actually, so am an easy one to entertain. This movie is hilarious…Wives club thingy! Dinner is being served…yum! The house did not burn down, and there is no smoke at all, so I am glad to know the detectors are sensitive and they will go off before things might be raging!!!!! lol

Comment by Virginia

I usually would have it all on hand, but, have not added it to the list what with the injury. Better if I keep my head and not have another event. Grandpa is having a hard time following this movie. He keeps asking whatsup!!! Too funny! :)

Comment by chas

Eileen doesn’t drink. If she going to consume calores she will take them in food…lol

She use to drink a bit of wine, but hasn’t in years.

Diet Coke or Pepsi. Some times birch beer

Comment by Virginia

Wise woman and I agree! It all makes one fat if consumed in copious amts. This ankle event was not alcohol related I must add. None of my fall have been. Don’t go there…recovery is too unpleasant as we all learned at an early age? :)

Comment by chas

She lost about 60 lbs twice and doesn’t want to do it again.

A good thing because she isn’t much fun while she’s doing it…lol

Comment by Virginia

I bet!!! Dieting is an event which everyone is required to engage in especially if it is the cook!!!!! And wine is a huge issue…very fattening, very! More so than beer actually…well, maybe it is that the beer makes one full faster? While sipping on wine is sneakier? I suspect that is it.
I will add…it’s not that I don’t over imbibe from time to time, but only in an environment which is very safe. Just wanted to clarify…feeling jolly on a few too many is something that could happen depending on the circumstances. Always want to know exactly what I am doing so this is just what it might be. No huge hang over after being a fool! Nope! That is just not cool…wasn’t then and certainly not now! :) :)

Comment by chas

As a lady you must be careful where you let your guard down.

Comment by Virginia

Let’s see….I was comfortably ensconced in my chair on the porch when the lovely mailman of yore:) brought the mail and in the batch was the invitation to the twentieth class reunion…yes, I think it was twentieth…anyway..yes it was! So…anyway, there I sat fat and happy with six kids and the baby was still a baby. When the hubby got home (it was his reunion) I told him to buy the tics and I would go if I lost the baby weight. Well, I went out and bought the cutest (girl thing, sorry) outfit, in a twelve, and proceeded to work on this…I had three months to loose these extra pounds. A huge vanity event…I was not going 40 and fat with pictures of six kids snuggly tucked in my evening bad…nope! Long story short…the poundage was lost, the outfit was awesome, and we had the best time showing the lovely pictured of the children and feeling quite elegantly slim while doing so!!! So, I do know how Eileen feels, and I don’t want to do that again, so I do monitor, even the much loved candy! lol

Comment by chas

I just did some quick math, between Friday, Saturday and today there are over 1200 responses in the blog.

Think Ms. Alisyn will be surprised?

Comment by Virginia

A lesson mothers teach their children…especially their girls…early on and should always be practiced. I suspect Natalie would be alive if her girlfriends had kept her with them regardless of what she thought she might want to do. First rule never, never to be broken…NEVER…stay together absolutely no exceptions under any circumstances. You are absolutely right about that…which ties into the alway behave like a lady…the other message drilled in with all the other important things said and hopefully listened to by the chiluns!!! lol

Comment by Virginia

Oh my God! No wonder it crashed. I bet she will be stunned! Especially when she sees how nice it all is…I mean, no hateful mean ignorant boorish things going on. I think that speaks to the respect we think she deserves? Yes….I hope she is pleased. I have had a ball myself!!! lol

Comment by chas

Considering the Mom, I’m pretty sure yours are wonderful people. Same Sex Parent, is a oft used term by the wife. ;)

Comment by Virginia

While lurking did you find anyone out there having fun without us?

Comment by chas

As have I. You really are a very nice bunch of people. Even that Dem Lori…lol J/K when you read that Ms. Lori.

Comment by chas

I don’t lurk. I have too big a mouth…lol

Comment by Virginia

Sixty minutes is talking about genetically modified foods. Hummm? I was unaware they could run a trial without someone knowing. Soybeans are a biggy? Hummm, I didn’t know that. Very interesting. We have a friend that grows and sell soybeans and I don’t think he is doing anything to change anything about it’s growth…GMO’s…that is what it is called I guess. No labeling required. He prob doesn’t do this as his operation tho successful is very small. It would seem this is a big farm issue, I guess. Very interesting…of which I am not interested at all except in passing, of course. I have already had red dye, too much sun, asbestos, and every other thing one can think of so I am a walking dead person on those grounds alone. Sheesh! So, what’s a cig or two now and then after all that, I say! (cough cough) I will work on this to please the fellow I am married to as a good partner should! lol

Comment by Virginia

We love Lori and Sheila is the one lurking to see what greta is up to and bring interesting little bits of info as she is still brave and I am not! lol :) :) You are right….you don’t lurk ever!!!!!! More pics of the wedding….lol

I don’t know what the fixation is with trying to live forever. Don’t do this, that or the other thing.

, screw that try enjoying life for the time you are here.

Comment by Virginia

You know, Bill Cosby has an hilarious routine just about that. I think it must have been done shortly after he was diagnosed with whatever, and his diet had been severely altered. Of course, he is sooooooooooooooooo funny I am in a bad way after listening to some of his stuff. I wish I could remember which one or when. It really doesn’t matter, as all his stuff is just amazing in every way. Now….why didn’t the dems pick him for the first black pres! I would vote for him on principle of having a very good sense of humor and the world needs a touch of get a life folks! :) :) I prefer to live just long enough, and I suspect that is just what will happen! :) :):)

Comment by Virginia

That would be the plan for sure…..enjoy and relax, it ain’t a prob!!

Fresh stawberries and cake for desert! Yum! The steaks were good despite the convection oven not quite working correctly this one time and the broiler then needing to be used…yes, this got a little complicated, however, it was delicious, and I am stuffed to the gills. Hubby is glad to have the remote and watching 60 min on the big t.v.
3.71 a gallon somewhere…maybe here? Haven’t been out to see and other that gasps from the hubby, am not aware! :) :) News alerts from said sixty minutes…..lol

Comment by Virginia

See??? Now I know why you are so smart, and funny i.e. the..well I did undo my crossed fingers so we won’t mention said hilarious thing!!!!
They are enjoying delicious food and wonderful attention from their chiluns and hubbys. OR they are looking and cannot find us? I don’t know. I really thought some would come just to see whatsup. I still expect to see them show up as well…..lol

Haven’t watchced 60 minutes in years. Couldn’t stand the liberal slant any longer. Isn’t the shoe produced in China now?…lol

Comment by Virginia

Oh my…another sad, sad story about the detention process and things gone awry because of really really stupid stupid administrators. It really isn’t ok, really! I am not going to listen. Toooooooo sad!
i.e. immigrants seeking asylum..this fellow was a pstor with a niece waiting on him and died after some abuse by the beaurocracy…to no ones surprise. Oh my…too sad…I am not listening. No wonder I stopped listening to this show! lol

Comment by Virginia

That is why I stopped watching. Made me want to throw a show at the t.v. Hubby watches it most Sundays, but, sometimes it isn’t talking about anything he might be interested so he will not watch. I don’t want to watch…this isn’t any more badly run than our prisons, so whatever! lol
China makes everything I think. I definitely think that is the case with shoes, in the they are not the same sizing process as before. That or the woman who wore a ten wanted to say they wore an eight??? And they can now….I went from and 8 1/2 to a straight 7. Now that is ridiculous! Kind of like the price of cars? Yep! and houses! Whatever…and the pyramid continues to grow and will come crashing down…oh well…Captains and Kings..lol

ah! Chas is rescued from my windy musings!!!!! lol Where is she? I hope she notices the msg……I imagined Sheila in elegant repose surrounded by her fabulous family. Bet she was too. I FOUND YOU FINALLY…. sorry, I am in a pretty pizzy mood and really didn’t even have time to comprehend every post I missed..or I would have seen the part about the PARTY blog. It went totally over my head. I thought though…how strange, where the heck is everyone??

I copied and pasted my sappy post… here ya go…

Alisyn…Happy Mother’s Day.

ALI-bloggers: Happy Mother’s day if it applies to you. :)

The Fox site was not nice to me at all last night, I came back as promised and it wouldn’t let me post so I finally gave up and played some cards on-line. I did enjoy reading everything though. Sounds like you had interesting conversation as always.

I’ve somewhat enjoyed my mother’s day. We have high drama teenagers here, trying to grow up too fast and thinking they don’t really need a mom anymore. So mom’s day tends to be a tad bit depressing for me…so to be honest, I’m quite sappy right now.
It was nice when visiting my mom and the mom-in-law, but when at home….well…
Hubby has been the nicest to me today and I feel so very blessed by that effort. He’s done all the dishes, ran the dishwasher, unloaded the dishwasher, took me out for supper and is now making me coffee. He does appreciate what I try to accomplish as a mom…and for that I feel grateful.

[referring to the other blog] So I had to post see, because the post number was at 666 and we simply can’t have that !!!! LOL

Looks like everyone has been enjoying their Sunday with the family…that’s a good thing.

Comment by elaine

I just went over there and she wrote to your response chas that she’ll be right over.

Comment by sheila

aawww, your imagination of my mother’s day was wonderful. thank you.. it warmed me. LOL Hubby made my mother’s day. I love my kids, they are just selfish right now though and it hurts my feelings especially on Mom’s day.

breakfast in bed….hhmm, now that would have been a good start.

Comment by Virginia

Oh geezzz! Now they are doing Alec Baldwin. He is such a good actor…wish I could get past his nonsense! He is mean I think to his wife and his kids…his smiley lines are definitely in jeopardy! lol Now, I don’t think anyone hasn’t been that mad at their kids. I like to think I didn’t speak to any of them quite like he has, but, I am not dealing with a difficult divorce either. Geezz! I hate to defend him on any level. I do agree that it is sanctimonious of people to respond to a telephone message left when angry. Another lesson in….don’t say it if you don’t want the world to know about it! lol

Comment by elaine

Sheila, I laughed when I read that you posted on the bad number, that was the reason I waited until someone else posted because of the number! LOL!

Comment by chas

And I am joined by yet another lovely lady. Nice to see you Me Sheila, I take it you got my msg.

Comment by sheila

well I’d rather post after that number than the number to stay that way when Alisyn comes into work tomorrow or she’ll be talked about at the Monday staff meeting. LOL

Comment by sheila

yes chas… thank you for saving me. I missed you all !!

Speaking of numbers, I was just telling Ms. Virginia that over the 3 blogs posted by Ms. Alisyn we have posted over 1200 respenses.

Comment by Virginia

Yes Sheila… I had lovely visions of your day dancing in my head all day. Poor Chas has had to chat endlessly with me lest I cry and throw a fit!!!! I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo spoiled! He is glad to be rescued! We were wondering when everyone would be checking back in…..lol

Comment by elaine

On Alec Baldwin defense, wasn’t he trying to reach his daughter before he left that message, I don’t think it’s right for his daughter not to answer his calls, that probrably worried him.

Comment by elaine

Comment by Virginia

Oh Elaine… I agree and absolutely think this has been a very long mean divorce and there apparently is plenty of meanness to go around. I don’t think the wifey is any nicer than he, in this case. She is not being a very good steward to her daughter I don’t think. She is mad and using the child. That is never ok. The child is just not old enough to know yet…however, I don’t think she is going to thank her mom…who, I think is the one who sent the message to the press. A very evil act, and the old dirty laundry definitely applies! Not nice at all…wicked in fact. lol

Comment by chas

Ms. Pat how wonderful you have added yet another lovely lady to the conversation/

Wow, how lucky am I?

Comment by Virginia

Geezzz! NO I had not heard about the bomb in the mailbox. Oh my God! What is wrong with the regular spreading of bad rumors which was the remedy years ago? Not nice, but harmless enough..you know…sticks and stones thing. One can only shake the head…over and over again, saying…oh my oh my. lol

Comment by Virginia

Is it on or did you tape it Chas? No sports on here. lol

Comment by PAT NEW PORT RICHEY FL

i have a grandson in long island who loves the packers the rest of the family are giant fans

Comment by Virginia

I think that is almost always the case with the sprain vs the broken bone. Oh well…nothing is simple. DRAMA abounds with this injury. I am no longer amused!!! lol

Comment by PAT NEW PORT RICHEY FL

Ut oh, lights are blinking, raining hard, puter slow. Bad signs for me being around much longer.

Comment by Virginia

We used to go home and cry in our pillow! My goodness. A silly boy that may like you tomorrow…or you may decide won’t do at all, and now he’s dead and you are forever changed as well as your family friends and community. Well now. I don’t know what is happening to these kids. lol

Comment by Virginia

Still scanning for my lost post Sheila. It was rather good. The mood will have to come over me again to recreate…sorry!!! lol

Comment by chas

Pat, what is wrong with kids today is parents and the stupid legal system.

Parents try to be friends instead of parents and if they try and be parents, they get charged with abuse..

Comment by Virginia

I am starting to pout big time Chas!!!!!! He may be blissfully released to watch his game in peace watching the fire place and his beautiful wife tucked in her chair calmly quilting. Ah! Now I like that vision a lot! Yes I do….lol

Comment by Virginia

Comment by chas

OK, the rain has slowed. So I might be able to stick around until the end of the game.

Comment by Virginia

We need to see good stuff to go along with the outrageous. Oh yum..cake with fresh strawberries…..yummy!!!! :)

Comment by chas

OK Ms. sheila,

It’s efsherm@hotmail.com.

In fact if you ladies don’t have a throw away addy, you might want to create on on Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail.

If you all did hotmail there is a chat program that could be used if this goes down.

Just a thought.

I have to honestly say the grandkids are being raised well. They are cute and nice and polite as they should be. In fact, the sixteen year old was over at the baby girls and she ask him to go inside as they were discussing something she thought was inappropriate for him to be a part of. He got up and politely excused himself. The only reason there is reason to comment on this, is that her girlfriend was astonished, and the baby girl was astonished her friend didn’t think that should have been the expected behavior. A moment of reflection I think. So, here expectations are high, therefore the responses from the “kids” around her is acceptable. Her girlfriend is an idiot if she doesn’t know that…and this is pause for thought as she has a four year old! Geezz!!! So, the twins are a delight…rough and tumble boys, but, smart and ready for kindergarden…look out world, here they come!!!! Yes! If they are anything like their red headed mama…and the school better go on defense immediately. I laugh…..hahahahahahahahaha, as I contemplate!!!! Yes!!! lol
