Alisyn in the Greenroom

Stay in bed for $17,000!

This is not a joke.  NASA is offering one (lucky!) person $17,000 to stay in bed for 90 days.   NASA wants to test the effects of microgravity on the human body.  Participants will spend 90 days lying in bed with their body tilted slightly downward (head down, feet up).  Everyday they’ll be awake for 16 hours and sleep for 8 hours.  Helloooo???  I’ll pay THEM $17,000 for the opportunity to get 8 hours of sleep.  If you’re interested in finding out more, check out the Bed Rest Study on NASA’s website.  But don’t bother applying, I’m hoping to get the job today.

So who can come up with an easier way to earn money?

Sleep is highly over rated…you do not need it. Alisyn is living proof of that. She only sleeps standing on her feet, in line or between breaths. With three under three and never a moment free. I am not suprised. Believe me Alisyn if you signed up you would not last a week. Too boring for you.

Me it would depend on what they put in the bed with me.

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

I think it’s a solo assignment, pogger. That may cut down on applicants.

Morning, Jimmy Carter should be locked in his home, never to be heard from again!!! Couldn’t do the in bed job too boring….. Something has to be done to let the Michigan and Florida votes count, don’t punish the people for the big wigs mistakes…..

Comment by Virginia

That too, Chas. Now they are talking about Rush…again. I think this fun he is having is just that, and definitely continues to point out how ridiculous the DNC is behaving. I think it is hilarious to the maximum, and Rush hasn’t had this much fun for a while. Now, I do look forward to the daily Rush report, which the DNC is happy to expound on endlessly, which is also a mystery in and of itself. Why on earth would they validate a man and his radio show by talking about it endlessly when they absolutely “hate” him, maybe more than they hate Hillary. A mystery for sure. :)

Comment by RM McGee

Good Morning
If I lived in FL or MI I would file a law suite against HOWARD DEAN and the Democratic Party for dening me my right to cast a vote and then I would have Howard Dean TARRED & FEATHERED!!!
He has turned himself into a traitor of the people, I would vote to have him hung by neck if we could get it done

Comment by chas

Ms. Sherrie,

I disagree. The voters should pay for their elected officials mistakes, or in this case arrogence. They in turn, after paying the price should return the favor by voting every one of them out of office.

That Ma’am is how the system was designed to work.

Comment by Nora H.

I don’t recommend sleeping for 8 hours a day. I have tried it while pregnant with my 2 child. I had to spend 66 days in the hospital lying on my right side unable to get out of bed in order to carry the pregnancy. I slept quite a lot of the time because there wasn’t a great deal to do all day but sleep. I read a lot of books but without moving around and the lack of stimulation from work and people there is little to do but sleep. Also, when you get out of bed you cannot move around very well. Nothing moves without pain….. Not worth $17,000 because your body is never the same. Experts say you lose 5 years of life for each day you stay in bed….

Sherrie…that would be an understatement. He should stick to his habitat project and stay out. His behavior has been abysmal always, and continues to be so into his “golden years”. He is an embarrassment today, as he was always, and a very, very, bad President. And, also, his behavior has been treasonous for sure as well as undignified. As a former president he has to know better..not good form for sure. Early on set Alzheimer s, or just continued stupidity? That would be the question. :)

Alisyn,

I feel and hear your pain when it comes to lack of sleep. One of my children was a NO SLEEP EVER girl. It was horrible. ( I have to tell you she still is the last in the house to go to sleep.. 14 years later) She now regrets torturing me. LOL

So to answer your Q, 14 years ago I would have taken that job in a heartbeat, nowwwww, not so much. Hang in there it does get better, but not anytime soon…;-(

Parents sent to jail over unexcused absences. Hummm…nope, again not the solution, not at all. But, no surprise there either. Every time the government steps into the family unit, there is always more damage, and the child they wish to rescue, is indeed, not rescued at all. This is just sooooooooooooo alarming on every lever. Where I am they had a bill up to ‘REQUIRE’ people to volunteer “X” number of hours a year to their public school or be fined five hundred dollars…well, you can’t call it a volunteer program if then you are going to fine people, to begin with…now, if your children were in private school, you were still be required to do those hours, as I understand it. We have a new dem governor, and his attorney general is already being ask to step down, and his office is a mess with, oh gee, sex scandals! what ever! I need go no further for everyone to see this program is ridiculous and does not address the issue of education and our children. I will not do a tome, as I am surrounded by very smart people, so it is unnecessary to do that on this site. Another feel good moment to make the population think they are just so busy “taking care of us”. No thank you. I can do that quite nicely without your help!!!! Alarming, I say! Alarming!!!! :) I feel certain it is unconstitutional also..humm?

The 3 Stooges on the couch were just mocking the guest that is suggesting a commission on studying the possibilities of interaction with aliens (the space kind, not the other country kind).
While it is typical and easy for the media to mock anyone that suggests the possibility of extra tertrestrial life, would they also mock FEMA?
Yes, according to a History Channel documentary on UFOs, FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, (THE FEDERAL GOV’T!!) has a chapter in it’s disaster guide on how to handle the case of a crashed UFO. Now if the federal gov’t is willing to write a chapter on what to do if a UFO crashes then why is it so crazy to suggest the next step of thinking what to do if a UFO lands and their are aliens aboard?

This three book series ( I think only three ), is definitely the history/romance/ mystery and very fun….shady Lady…just fun. Not mind bending, but, fun and relaxing. She writes other stuff, but, I stumbled upon this quite by accident, as I am not usually in the romance isle for books. I did go buy the second and third book, as the story was very fun. Lavenia and Tobias make a very good detective pair, set in an era when women did not do this type of work for any reason. Toooooooo fun!!!

Nope, I am sure they do not. I do need the milk, however, before grandpa gets up :) :), so I expect her as soon as she drops the twins off a pre-school. As I wrote yesterday, Clinton Inc is going to flip Obama like a pancake at IHOP. They are just waiting for the Wright moment.
HRC and BHO will make up in a spirit of camaraderie, for the good of the party (their words) and to take back TWH. This is a ticket that will beat McCain.
Sen McCain better “bring it.” He will need a SuperVP to beat the Clinton-Obama ticket.

Alliblogers,
More for the skeptics regarding my prognostication about the Clinton-Obama ticket.
Recall I grew up in Texas. My gut told me LBJ was responsible for a coup d’état. I thought this long before the movie starring Kevin Costner (SP?). BTW, his best movie was Fandango.
FDR changed the country with what was dubbed the “court-packing bill” in order to carry out his plan to socialize America by increasing the size of the Court.
Politics is a blood sport. It is the modern day equivalent of the games played in the Coliseum in Rome.
The President of the United States (POTUS) is the world’s most powerful, secular, seat of power. If one does not understand the bloodlust inherent in acquiring this office, one should read more (that is being kind).
Done for the day – hitting the hammock.

THRU: Aliblog

Rediculous?
JFK accepted LBJ because he could deliver Texas. Truman was selected in a smoke filled room if I am not mistaken.
Consider this:
A smoke filled room (probably maryjane, after all we are talking democrats). Enter Hill, Bill, Barrack, and Michelle.
Barrack takes the podium and looks wounded regardless of the lilt in his voice. Michelle eyes are spittin fire. She is doing her best to look Jackie like. Hill is looking serious but beaming. Bubba has that smug smile on his face. He is waving and puffed out like a large Tom turkey.
Barrack tells the stoned audience that he is nominating HRC for POTUS. Huzzas roar up from the crowd. HRC speaks, belching fire. Bubba runs his mouth while the wheels are turning on what he will do to cement his legacy. Michelle is wanting a shower because Bubba just touched her.
Rediculous you say?

Comment by Marina D. von Linsowe

Coyote attacks:

About 20 yrs ago California voted to ban trapping and hunting of bears and coyotes with a ballot measure. The proponents (PETA and friends) used commercials with deceptive claims of cruelty to the animals and disregarded that the coyotes were constantly attacking sheep and other animals raised for the benefit of feeding and clothing humans. Within 5 years the coyote population had expanded to the point they begin making appearances in small mountain towns, killing cats and dogs (pets) for food. The population is now so huge the food supply is depleted to the point that the coyotes are now entering heavily populated areas and have gone beyond pets to small children. Killing the coyotes is illegal. The coyotes do nothing useful and much harm but they are more important than humans, according to the animal rights activists.

Marina..excellent post. We have a very popular radio morning host, and he refers to these type of view as the Disney group. Animals have been humanized to the degree that it is a bit alarming. While the main job is good stewardship, we have slipped into the land of very right and very left views, which have somehow gotten the attention and power needed to make ridiculous laws. I do like Bambi, but, I am aware he is not human…so we try to protect our children and families, and the land we occupy, and we shake our head when the farmer is told he cannot plant due to a bug that is going to be extinct. I have marveled at the mantality in the presumes some sort of Godly knowlege known only to these people. How on earth can they possibley know that this is not just what the plan is, for reasons they would have no way of knowing. So, we don’t drill for oil and we don’t hunt some animals, and on and on. The coyote problem is just one more on the list of stupidity that seems to reign unchecked. There is always a huge out cry when the deer season starts, and sometimes they will extend it due to the deer population spilling over into the public domain. I am amazed that these same people who would not have them hunted, do not care if they starve to death! This group also talks in circles so it is difficult to have a discussion with anyone in this relm as they do assume God like knowlege, therefore are arrogant to the maximum. Good post…:)

I find this story very sad.

DUBLIN, Ga. (AP) – A 42-year-old Georgia woman who won 5 million
dollars in the state lottery a year ago has been found stabbed to
death in her home.

Doris Murray’s ex-boyfriend has been charged with murder.
Authorities say Murray’s family called police after they saw
51-year-old Derrick Stanley leaving her home with blood on his
face. Stanley was caught after leading police on a car chase. He’s
being held without bail.

An investigator thinks the two may have argued after she told
him she wanted to break off their relationship and just be friends.
The sheriff for Laurens County says Murray “lived by meager
standards” despite her winnings. She won the prize on her birthday
in April of last year and chose to take it in annual payments of
$172,000 over 20 years to set up a trust fund for her
grandchildren.

The lottery says the money will continue to be paid to whoever
is in Murray’s will.

Anyone ever watch that program on E! called Curse of the Lottery? A lot of people have some very bad luck or idiocy after winning the big bucks.

Pat…ain’t that the truth. I am going to need therapy on my right let just to get it back to match the left leg!!!! :) For real…I looked down at my ankle, and to my alarm the right leg has shrunk and the left leg is beautifully toned!!! I laughed my head off. In the attempt to protect the precious “slim” ankle, I have managed to “untone” my right leg!!!!!! Sheesh!!! Not that any part of me is toned to begin with, so I throw that around, but it doesn’t really apply except in this particular circumstance! :) :)

Marshall, you do hear horror stories from people who win alot of money, but also remember that is only what we hear, the bad stuff, I am sure that alot of good happens aswell to those who win alot of money.

Comment by Virginia

Marshall…so true, and the endings are not pretty..in fact are very sad as in this case. One does not engage the world when large sums are won, we have decided, not that it is going to happen. I think I have to buy a tic to win? Yep! So, the hubby puts a buck in the work thing, and tickets are bought, and they have a good time. Now, that would be the way to win I think, bringing all the friends along, thereby, keeping everything level. I always tell people I want one of the children to win, as they “don’t have a real life” and I do. That way my life would not change, and they could give me, the operative word being give, money as I wanted (not needed) as I continue my journey. That is the plan…probably never to be implemented, but a plan never the less…much like preparing for an alien attack….the other notion is that the attorney would be called immediately and a very smart money management group to handle the many children, family and friends andfavorite charities gathered up through the years. That plan prob not to be implemented either. I am pretty sure God isn’t going to give me such a large sum to miss handle yet one more time??? That being the yet, other angle in all this. :)

Comment by Marshall

elaine my luck would probably be much like poor Doris Murray’s, but I would still like to win the blasted thing!

What got me about her story was it sounded like she was trying to do the right thing and not go on a crazy spending spree like some others have done. She still got slammed over the head buy the lottery poltergeists, or something.

Comment by Virginia

Marshall…not so certain there is a curse, just lots of publicity so we get to know the bad and the ugly, and the good, or successfuly have quietly moved on. I have two friends who won big and one would never have a clue! The press isn’t after that, and the reality show is sure not after that, and the successful winner doesn’t want them any where near them…no surprise at all. lol

I’m going to have to remember to ask Ms. Alisyn how many hits a day the Greenroom averages.

I also wonder if any of the other News Host read the Greenroom.

I’m back…grandpa is still sleeping, my friend is gone, and the daughter has left to rescue a friend from a broken car…so things are quiet….for a moment. Eddy Albert…he will be missed. They will now show everything he has done for a minute, and that will be a nice road for awhile. I would add that Marshall…you are a gentleman, even though I missed that part of the conversation. :)

Marshall…regarding the lady with the money…sounds like she found someone to help her with the money. Unfortunately, the fellow was probably never a nice person, and that is a shame. Life partners can sometimes be not very nice people. I guess the kids can be grateful the money is put so nicely and safely. Hopefully they will honor her memory by being good stewards of this nice gift. :)

It is good to know that her family will still get the money. I had heard that the money stopped once the benefactor croaked, so apparently that was just an urban legend.

Marshall…bye Chas…Marshall…I think it depends on how it is set up. She put it in a trust for her children, so it would continue to pay until it is gone. A good question, and prob depends on. I would take it all in one lump sum and then let the brilliant money person fix it like it should be…he and the attorney could figure that one out. Then I would never do laundry again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never, I say. I can’t stop whistling green acres…this is going to drive me crazy all day!!!! He surely will be missed! :)

Check out the videos posted at Greta’s showing people campaigning for Obama inside voting precincts in Indiana. What can be done about that BS?

What was the original question? After catching up with what I missed ..I forgot. Oh yeah, would I stay in bed for 90 days to get paid $17,000. Heck NO. I get my share of sleep, usually 7 hours. After that my bones start yelling at me to get up and move. Not being able to get out of bed wouldn’t be a healthy thing for anyone.
I’d totally turn into a mean person and that wouldn’t be good for anyone in ear shot.

The money / lottery issue…it’s such an interesting topic. When you don’t have much, you don’t know how you make it month to month without going under and only dream about winning lots of money. You talk about what you’d do with it if you were to win…you’d pay off all your debts and all your family’s debts, too. But then it happens, you win….and you forget the previous plan. It’s not something you can exactly keep under the radar. People find out and no matter what you do or say, they look at you differently and treat you oddly. You get people wanting to be friends with you that never had time for you before….and the friends you had are so jealous that they won’t hang with you anymore. You thought you’d pay off your families debts, but then you see that that’s exactly what they expect you should do… so now it feels different and you don’t think you want to do that for them anymore. So now you are hated and seem greedy.
I think it’s a true test of who you are….what you’re really made of. You either pass or you fail.

OK, so that wasn’t the question of the day and I totally went off into my own thoughts. LOL

Heading to the flower shop. Enjoy your afternoon.

Comment by Mike Malone

marshall,

Alisyn of course! And I am not even talking about any hanky-panky going on. I just know Alisyn would be lots of fun to hang out with and would make the 90 days fly by, making me want for another 90 days too.
Now why I would want to submit Alisyn to such torture of depriving her from fooling around with me just shows I have a sadistic side. LOL

Comment by Sheila

Marshall…no kidding? They have pictures of campaigning inside the polling? I find it really interesting as I worked as a poll officer for about 10 years. We had to go to training before each election or we weren’t permitted to work. That was one of the HUGE rules was that no one could campaign within several hundred feet of the entrance door. In fact, the polls opened at 6 am and when we’d get there to set up about 5:30, we would drive around the block and have to remove election signs from yards because it was considered electioneering within the alloted perimeters of a polling place.
Interesting stuff.

Comment by Virginia

Sheila…enjoy the flower shop. I will be so glad to get back to work!! And I agree with you..I want one of the kids to win for that very reason!! I like my spot and the spot with my family and friends, and I am sure I don’t want to loose any of them. I guess the only alternative, would be to split it the zillion way one would have to and we all could take a nice trip and be broke all over again..yep :)

Comment by Marshall

Sheila what is the penalty for doing what those people have done? The signs were bad enough, but the woman asking people who they were voting for and announcing they were in Obama Land really went beyond the pale. That could be seen as intimidation because her attitude came across in a very condescending manner.

Comment by Virginia

Marshall…Sheila…are they allowed to do that? And if they are not is there fear of making them stop? :)

Comment by Marshall

No hanky panky????? All the laughter would turn to tears and begging after the first 24 hours.

Comment by Virginia

I am pretty sure I would ask anyone to please step away from me at that point. I don’t think they are allowed to engage on the actual property. They have to stay outside of the actual polls…on the curb or street side. I had one fellow come up to me when I went to the primary in our state, and he was an Obama person, but, very polite and not on the property. I did tell him, also very nicely, that I did not wish to share my views with him and it really was not his business either. He was very polite and smiled as I did, and off he went to the next person…a rainy day at that and chilly too. :)

Comment by Sheila

I haven’t worked for 2 years so I did a quick search on the internet. It looks like they did change the electioneering laws here in KY. It appears now that you can electioneer outside the entrance doors to the polling place. So I am wondering, is this a state law? If so, what is the law for the state these pictures are coming from?

We had some problems one year in our precinct. They had moved me over from a different precinct so I was not familiar with the other election officers. I was what they call the “Republican Sherriff”. There was also a “Democratic Sherrif”. Both were responsible for making sure election laws were followed to the T. During one of the presidential elections, there were long lines and we were very busy, but I got up to see what the loud voices were all about. They were electioneering in the line and not being nice about it at all. I went to speak to the other election sheriff about it and they told me to mind my own business…that was the way it’s always been. I said…”bull”, not while I’m here”. So I went over and verbally warned them to stop. They were rude to me, and continued to go right back to their electioneering, so I got a piece of paper and asked for their names. Talk about making a scene. Understand….at the time we were living in a small county that had their own Kangaroo court type of government. To make this go a little shorter. I made a couple of phone calls, didn’t like the answers I received…so I let them vote, but I filled out legal papers on them all. What does that mean? Well, it means that those papers had to go before the Grand Jury and then they would decide whether or not to count their votes. So I am not sure what was ever done with those forms. Maybe nothing. But it ticked me off so bad that I had to do “something”.
These small counties are all over our country. It’s a huge problem in my opinion. But what can you do ???

I signed off vowing to give up blogging. I spend way too much time writing entries and there is no follow on discussion.

This is my first home for blogging. Maybe I expect too much because I am inexperienced. I do know I would not want to participate in name calling or insults.

Aliblogers are prohibited from that because of Rules 1 & 2. To reiterate.

1. It is Ali’s blog therefore no insults especially the hostess. When in doubt;
2. See Rule #1.

Pretend this is a play: Scene Denver, CO

Sheila…I have never had that experience in my whole life so I feel very, very, lucky. Last election there was actually a very, very, long line. There was lots of other things than the Pres, but, it was the main vote…Everyone had a ball. No yelling, no campaigning, the kids (girl scouts) brought cookies and there was coffee being served..it was very civil and very nice. I waited prob about an hour and a half with my neighbors and kids…we took turn taking them to the bathroom. This is awful. Usually I go and no one is there but a few. So, what you are saying is, there are rules but they do not and often are not followed. I guess one should not be surprised, but, I am. :) My hubby has worked the polls for years now, and there is no trouble with his spot either, however, I wouldn’t think I could fuss with him at all…demeanor, friendly enough, but authoritative also. :)

Hi Will….I agree with you. I wonder if it would really happen that she would run with him at all, or destroy him in spite of. Michelle is no Jackie O, and He is no John, so your descriptions are priceless!!!! I happen to agree, but, even if I didn’t I would think they were very funny. But, I would!!!! :) I liked West Wing too, so watchagonnado!!!! :) I still, however, will not under any circumstances watch or support anything that Hanoi Jane does ever, ever, ever…….now, I could say really not nice things about her for several pages. :)

Maybe I will plan to go with a friend so as not to be by myself. I cannot be intimidated, but, I would prefer to not be accosted. :) I have never not voted, so there is nothing that would be able to keep me away, much like the mail man, I will be there!!!! :)

Aliblogers,

Here is the rationale for a Clinton-Obama ticket.

The Dems essentially have controlled the White House since 1932 with a few interruptions in between. You know these blips as well as I do.

Reagan began something that flourished. Some Republicans lost sight of the Reagan vision. They spent too much money; they were caught in compromising situations. You all know that as well.

HRC, WJC, BHO, MO will make a deal with the Devil if they can regain The White House. This is their opportunity to regain it not for the next 8 years, nor the next 16. This is their opportunity to reign for another 60 years.

The Change they will complete will wash away what your fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers fought for and bequeathed to us. First, The Fairness Doctrine or a steroid version of it will alter talk radio and TV.

I am prognosticating:

Rush will be found dead from an overdose. His demise will be attributed to some bogus reason.

O’Reilly will be tarnished with a Bimbo Scandal. Hannity will have some equally distasteful event change his life. Why?

Because they never intend to lose The White House again.

That is a bleak picture Will, but we muse over hanging Madam’s and we wish we could see Jackie’s papers..I’ll be dead before they are opened for public consumption, we wonder why the friend and another were dead after refusing to ok planes for the FAA, but, there was no investigation, and now we have another whistle blown and the great grounding of planes due to questionable alliances with the FAA (I await news of that person’s demise)…and the list goes on. We will never know what happened to Marilyn, and we watch her movies with nostalgic notions of murder and mystery and are very sorry this happened to her….I like to think there is not a monster behind every bush, but, in reality, this IS a dangerous world we live in, and the politics of this world have little to do with you and I and they never did. It is handled by the Captains and the Kings, and so it has always been. Yep….but, we continue to strive to make this nation work, and I surely hope the junior senator and the Hillary machine, do not get “the power” at this time, or, in fact at any time….but, specifically this moment. Yes….it is alarming so we march forward ………Into the breech, no fear, laying waste our enemy!!!!!!!!! :)

I will make this point very, very clear for sure Chas and Marshall. The junior senator fr Illinois better hope Hillary is taking her old lady pills or else!!! I didn’t take mine yesterday, so one can see what can happen, yes? And she isn’t even nice or honest to begin with. I can’t help but wonder if someone isn’t going to get hurt over all this with the DNC, and I am not talking about feelings. Makes me a little, oh, I don’t know, creeped out at the thought. I added a point I had overlooked in my entry at 12:41 but the jackals canned it. Here is a repeat.

Rush, Sean, Bill O’, Laura, Savage, Glen Beck have all had at one time or another their respective fingers in the eyes of the power elites in the Dem party. This is a fight for the heart & soul of America.

The Dems/Progessives/Socialists tried floating Air America and it crashed. Like a flawed phoenix, it crashed again (if I am not mistaken).

The ticket will be Clinton-Obama/POTUS/VPPOTUS in that order for all of those that are confused by my didactic missives. Talk radio and Fox News gets in the way of Clinton-Obama agenda.

If Progressivism/Democrats/Socialists can not compete in the open market, given a Dem contolled Congress, and with the Clintons as co-POTUS, the rules will be changed to suit their agenda (econ example: wage and price controls).

Obama will flip like a pancake at IHOP because he does not have the machine the Clinton’s have. I will not even go into the ramifications of Obama as VP, a heart beat away from POTUS and Bubba standing in the way.

Recently, some enlightened Dem/Prog/Soc referred to Condi and Colon as house slaves. It may have been Screwy Louie Farrakan.

Jimmy….Carter was probably ok as a governor…he was not, however, a very good president. At the time I felt sorry for him for being a bit naive, but, now I wonder if he just wasn’t good at that job. We have sponsored the Habitat program…built a house as a matter of fact. I think he should have stuck to that. But, despite mean remarks about him, I just think his behavior has not reflected that of a former President. There are just things one should not do unless asked. That is our tradition anyway, and very bad form for him to take off on his own, especially to places he has been ask not to go. Just bad form!!! :)
Leader of Al Quiada arrested in Iraq…that’s just what they said. Trying to confirm. Well now, that would be pretty amazing if it is true. Good for us!!! Ahead of time :) Another one over to the junior senator…difficult decision, but he is for change, and so he is backing him..that’s what he said…huh??? Geezzz!!! Now, that’s a reason if I ever heard one. Didn’t get the name, but, will listen and write it down. :)

But I do have problems with Carter….I am beginning to wonder if Alheimers is coming into the picture….and why won’t he go ahead and endorse a candidate?…not that it would help them!

Carter was most likely and without much argument the worse foreign policy President in the history of the Country.

I saw a couple of his habitat houses go up in a town I lived in. Inside 2 years the places were trash. Another typical liberal idea shown to be worthless and ill conceived.

Anyway I would have pulled Carter’s passport either before or after he was gone. I can’t tell an ex-president not to be engaged? We put people in prison for talking to terrorist Mr. Adams, HUMAS is a declared terrorist org.

I may be delayed in responses, things are running slow here today.

Sleep is necessary, or so they say. Of course, what do they really know? Not all that much, in my opinion, in that they keep changing their mind. Drink coffee, don’t drink coffee and the list goes on!!! Pretend you are five, and mom is putting you to bed??? No answers. I have these moments, but, thankfully they don’t last long. Except, of course the thirteen or so years of babies!!!!! But, who needs to sleep between the years of twenty four and thirty five or so??? So, we know it won’t kill ya…here I am, after all!! :) :)

Chas…I agree, however I think they should have pulled his passport before he left. I certainly don’t think he should have been able to take his protectors with him. And, I assume they were paid by the tax payer for that trip. Did he actually pay for the trip himself? or was that on our dime also. He and Nancy and her buds are all traitors. I do not understand how they could do this without an outcry from the senate and congress. This was very alarming and one just shook the head and…well, just shook the head??!! :)
I don’t know if the habitat house we built is still standing or not. I didn’t work on it..we sponsored it with other companies. I should ask, I s’pose. Didn’t think about them not standing up. I often have to force myself to turn it off, and concentrate on actually relaxing enough to go to sleep. This morning I was awake at 5:30 a….yikes!!! I haven’t done that for a while, but, I still was not the first one on!!!!! Now, as you know, when I could fall right back to sleep, not able, what with babies all over the place. Our primary is not until May, but regardless of whether or not it’s going to matter at that point…I will most certainly be in line to exercise my right. I get so excited to go and vote, isn’t that weird.
My husband is more of a general election type of voter. I have never missed a voting opportunity even if I had to vote absentee. There’s just “something” about it that feels really good !! Then they give me that stupid little sticker that says “I voted today!!” and I wear it proudly. LOL

Will I watch the interview tonight? We may tape it and watch it after the kids go to bed. They’ll take over the tv later. I saw a clip of McCain on some comedy show, he looked really old, but I think he can handle four years in the white house without a problem.

We listened to a few minutes of Rush on the radio today, he still seems pretty proud of himself. That annoys me for some reason.

The post that got the BOOT earlier was me being smart elic about staying “on-topic”. lol then simply mentioned the NASA website because it’s really good. Maybe I broke a rule?

Ms. Virginia,

It is my experience that things received without cost are seldom taken care of in the same manner of things worked and paid for.

And I hope that Mr. Adams doesn’t think I feel Carter was a mean person or evil, like Clinton, I just thought he was in way over his head.

He won the election because Ford pardoned Nixon, it’s pretty much that easy.

Nice, very nice moment in this hectic election, contentious atmosphere.
Grandpa and the baby girl are not back. This is a kind of long appt. Well…maybe not. Well, yes it is. Two hours? Geezz! Poor Dad and daughter. I think the other daughter picked the twins up, so that is done anyway, however, grandpapa would have done that with a very huge smile…anytime, anywhere, oh yes..he likes those baby boys!!!!! :) :) I wonder what he is fixing for dinner tonite??? There are some advantages to this ankle, after all :)

Ms. Sheila,

You might read the terms of use section to ensure you are not making any flubs, but I’ve had some just not show up and just figure them to be caught in the digital divide out there in cyber space.

Ms. Alisyn once asked me about an illness I had late last year, and then jumped back on and removed the answer. I really wasn’t posting it for the general group. But I did request that it be removed.

I’m not certain that the moderators with hold or block post here unless that time which the violate the rules. Which hardly seems to apply to you Ma’am.

Chas…I agree, and as I was there, it is not something I read about. I don’t think he is mean either. But his behavior is bad form. Just really bad form, and he is of a generation that knows that very well. So, not only was he an inadequate president, he compounds the problem with these multiple stranger than strange things he does. I really wonder if he is ok, or if he is just trying to be relevant?
You are right about the free anything…another old lesson mom talked about, and now we have lived long enough to know that is true. Free is never really free, is it. Nope…not really.
And, by the way. You are very, very welcome, and I doubt you could hurt my feelings ever, but, you could chid me when I have been wrong…and I would listen. This has been a really amazing and interesting and fun experience. Even when F5 doesn’t work and one is in the land of no response!!! Grandpa and the daughter are home and he is in perfect shape. God is in his heaven and all is well in the world…or, anyway, in this little world of this wonderful space and my house, today. :)

I’d rather be outside digging a ditch for $10 an hour than be paid much more to sit on my — all day doing nothing.

Since “In the green room” went to this quick moderating mode we see less of our leader..

You guys are all great and I’m sure it’s great for alisyn too because her blog seems to be running all on it’s own now; it’s just an observation..

Comment by Virginia

al m…I hope not. It would be much better if she checks in sometimes I think. We really, genuinely like her…well, some of you guys have a small crush going on….and that is a definite advantage I think. It’s only as important as it is, but, she is nice, and smart, and pretty too, and we all hope she’ll pick us to say hi there at any given moment. Yes, we do!!!! But, we carry on without her but knowing she is maybe watching and enjoying the different ideas being thrown around. :) We wait for the moment and search frantically to see if she peeked….:):)

Ms. Virginia,

As I said then I was just hopeful that a simple reminder would be helpful because it was so out of character for you. Not the lady I have come to know and enjoy.

I’m not anyone who should be telling anyone, especially here, about behavior. It isn’t my place and I just hang around like everyone else. Just a shmuck with little other to do…lol

And just to set the record straight, I’m not all that on computers myself. I’ve just learned a few tricks along the way.

Ms. Alisyn tends to check in in the early hours of the blog from the first posting of the subject of the day and post until about 8:45 and then again until 10 for a short time and sometimes between 1 and 2 before she goes home.

I think the number of comments depend on her other duties as assigned by FOX.

Some days she has comments often, others few at all. I don’t think the new insti moderation has much to do with the number of comments.

I have no real knowledge of this of course other than a few things I have picked up on in a few comments from her.

Chas…it’s those tricks you know. My boss can find a twenty cent mistake and my mind is going fuzzy!! So, small skills go a long way sometimes.
I am fine now. The ankle will be fine…I hope :( I haven’t really been laid up ever, I guess, so this has been an experience and I am just surprised. I thought it might take a minute, but, it has been one month since I first said Hi Chad :) :) a rechristening moment!!
I hope, though this world is pretty crazy, friends can always take care of one another. Hummm??? Yep they can. So we be ok, and I am nice actually, really I am. :) :) I very seldom loose my temper, and am always, always, sorry. Listen, think, discern :) :) when one throws that to the wind…well, someone should smack them big time, more than once!!!!! :) :) for sure :) :)

Comment by Virginia

al m…and you should actually. That is a very nice tribute to her that she is licked by her fans. I don’t think she would mind that. In my little job, people kept asking for more of this and more of that. I kept telling them, that in the process, some of the personal phone calls and other amenities they enjoyed might disappear if there were more layers of things available. Well, sure nuf…that’s what happened. So, we all wanted speed!!! And here it is…and maybe we have lost some personal activity in the mean time. I suspect that’s it. How many hits?? A lot for what was a small place to begin with. But, who would we not have here? No one…so that is good too. :) :)

Comment by chas

I was laid up for almost 4 months when I cut my knee open with a chain saw back in the mid 70’s. But 6 months later I was back in the Army running as much as 5 miles per day.

I had to have help to get into a bath, to be fed, it was the worse time of my life. Although being in the hospital late last year was worse for health reasons and I was only out of work for 7 weeks.

I hated my wife making me food every meal because I couldn’t stand long enough to cook and had lost 40 pounds, (not a good thing when you only weigh 175).

So I feel your pain dear, I truly do.

That is the difference..but, I was younger also..well, the last time I was fifty eight I guess…..anyway. This is not fun, however, you were really hurt and I am not. Just whinny. Been watching too much of the junior senator from Illinois. Now, how am I going to address him if he should actually win? Geezz!! I have always been respectful of my president, even when I had no respect, so I guess I can do this too, if it should come to pass. Praying hard that doesn’t happen. I’m not a spring chicken anymore, but I was only in my mid 20’s when I cut myself but I was 54, now 55, when I was sick last year. Fact I can tell I am getting older is that I am still not back to 100% with pain in my chest because my ribs had to be spread apart to clean out the lung cavity.

I have an annoying scar about 18″ long across my back where they went in that bothers me at times. Very annoying condition for a “Duke” type of guy who played sports even with borken fingers and other bones…lol

Sheila…we vote here too. It’s those blue eyes and such passion for our country that my history teacher had….ah! Yes, we vote at every election, big or little. I will watch McCain, but, may turn the station after he is done, depending. I know Rush can be annoying. I listen to him in the car so, about the time he is getting ready to repeat himself for the fiftieth time, I am at work…or home. That solves that problem. And now, if I would think I might want to turn it on when I get home, on the early days, I will prob come and see who is here first..so he may loose me by default. I personally think he is a hoot. He just doesn’t bother me at all. Drives my hubby up a wall, and is definitely not on if he is around. I really think he is having the most amazing time, and laughing his a@@ off….all the way to the bank. I think he is amazed that the representatives of the U.S. government…i.e. Harry R and his ilk…would pay any attention to him specifically, and just cannot resist pushing all their buttons at every occassion. The complaint regarding my vote was outside reason…my vote…I can do what I want with it, and if I want to do what Rush says, well too bad. You don’t get to know who, why or how Harry..back off bucko!!! Yes, I have enjoyed the dance for sure..I really have. :)

Comment by chas

I don’t listen to Rush anymore for two very good reasons, 1. I can’t get him down here in the country and 2 he just says what I have been saying for years, he just makes more money for saying it and isn’t as nice about it as I try to be.

Oh Sheila….Greta Wire is dangerous territory!! :) :) You must go armed and ready…deep breaths and scrolling technique is necessary. I am serious. It is a brutal place to be from time to time. Now, they are just mean and nasty and steal names and fight over the election with pages of repeat stuff that you have to scroll past…oh my!!! If you are going there you must be armed with a stiff bottle or come get a pill from me, yes, this is definitely dangerous. I am never going back..really. Some very nice people but you have to wade thru some really hateful, mean, and frankly dumb stuff. It kind of kicks your sensibilities and smacks you around pretty thoroughly. If you go…go sneaky…quiet…shhhh, and you are not allowed to tell anyone about Alysin…shhhhh!!! :)

Comment by Sheila

This election is going to be so different than others in my opinion especially because of the capabilities through the internet. The media does a better job now of reporting on things. The internet is full of anything you’d ever want to research about anything or anybody. Grassroots type of campaigns work many of times. Even though Rush does tend to annoy me after a while, he’s simply tapping into his freedom of speech…press..etc. It is going to be interesting to watch the show.

Hi Pat…Sheila, that is what I told the hubby when he was teasing me about the news and the election stuff. I told him this was just an amazing event, and I just couldn’t seem to not watch for the next gaff that I was sure was coming any minute. Yes, it has and is…all the while small chills going down the spine, that with the internet and all the info available, there is just no reason not to know. So, I don’t care who one might be voting for..geezz, in this house they could do a poll. I am a little puzzled when a person cannot tell me why they might have pick one candidate over the other. That is just an amazing thing, just amazing. I could always tell anyone who ask just exactly what I used as a measure to choose. Yes….this is a most interesting moment. We have had some fights during elections of course, but with the Hillary involved…hum, yep, this should be very good indeed. :)

Comment by chas

I’m not so sure it is going to be so different. About 30% are Dems and that’s how they are going to vote. About 30% are GOP and that’s how they are going to vote. Then there is 20% who don’t at all and 10% that sit on the fence and make up their mind at some point.

Truth is our system, the people at the highest Offices are put there by about 10% of the population.

This is why people like HIllary run to the right, because the left knows she doesn’t mean it. This is why McMedia will run slightly left of center and hope the right will know it’s only politics.

Kids will sit out again and that’s Obama’s strong base, so if he wins, tough luck.

Hillary was always a loser with a better than 50% unfav rating, she wasn’t ever a serious contender in my opinion.

Oh I do not expect Hillary to bow for a LONG time. I think they’ll have to sedate her and tell her at a later time that it’s over….if that happens of course. To be honest, I think she’s only on about plan B with her journey. They have something up their sleeve, make no mistake about it. It won’t be over until the lady in the large dress starts belting it out for everyone to hear. Even if Obama beats Hillary…you can bet that it’s going to be another Bush/Gore election rerun.. they will pizz and moan and say somebody messed up and we need to recount. Big babies. I’m not sure about Obama, if he would lay down and take a defeat easily. So far what I have seen with him is typical of a candidate…. make no mistake about it though, the Republicans are the same way…they do and say what they need to say, too.

Pat…there have been some hilarious things running on this site, what with Will and all. We simply must suspect he is an author peeking in on the blog for a new story line, and boy he could gather plenty up I would think. We will all have fun seeing just who guessed right. I think Hillary will not run with the junior senator. I really can’t see him asking her either, so actually I like Wills rendition best…you will have to scroll back..it is really good…but, that aside..I think she will pretend to support, but, many stories will come out about the junior senator, unknown source, and she will actively undermine his campaign. I don’t think she wishes him the gold ring. But, I don’t think Bill wants her to win either…so, this is hilarious to watch. We’ll see in a minute…time flies, ya know. :)

Aliblogers,

Virginia – if your friend forwards other forwards and does so to multiple addressees, that will have a multiplier affect. Your friend will have to change her forwarding habits and forward to single addressees. This takes more time but does not have the mulitiplier effect/affect.

Sheila – I have great admiration for Rush. He an I are about the same age and we both were interested in radio. I built a Heath short wave radio and used to listen to it nightly. I had a 50 foot long antenna wire that went from my window to the swing set in the back yard. I believe I heard God addressing me – “Will, turn off the radio and go to sleep.”

Of course, that could be attributed to me spilling a Dr. Pepper on the radio headphones and getting a slight shock.

Yes, Pat, I would. What we really all want to know though…….what the heck is she chewing on every time I see her. Is it tobacco??? Seriously, it is distracting. She is a closet smoker as the tell tale lines around her mouth indicate, so it could be tobacco. But, then, there is no spittoon, so that becomes problematic, yes, it would. Mints, perhaps? What ever it is, I surely wish she would stop it, and stop it right now! Poor baby…and there is something wrong with her eyes I think. You know..I don’t remember a thing wrong with her when she took this post, so it must be the pressure of the job. And I simply just mute Harry R, with his all too soft voice, like we are so stupid he must speak softly and slowly. I am serious..I have to mute or go running and screaming from the room..that mostly only happens if I forget my old lady pill, however, so it is usually, in truth, uneventful. A shoe at the t.v. works fine. :)

I wouldn’t worry Ms. Sheila, no matter which Dem it is, while it might be close but McMedia will have it I’m pretty certain. I say that with the knowledge that I only missed 1 election since LBJ and that was Clinton’s 2nd term.

But I never call it this far away. Come Nov I will have my guess at the numbers. I hit Bush’s 2nd term dead on.

Hey wait I still didn’t get my kuddo’s from the greenroom for getting the PA primary correct. Another thing I will bring up to Ms. Alisyn tomorrow.

Virginia,

I forgot to mention how to determine if your friend is forwarding with multiple addressees. The receiver will have 48 copies of the same email.

I believe this is because the system transmits messages in packets. It has a polling mechanism which can signal that there remain packets to transmit. It gets in a “do-loop” and resends packets already sent. Eventually, it arrives at the packet that says “This is the end of the email.”

I think if we all think in unison we can make a difference? Yes, I am almost sure I am right. I have been wanting to have this experiment for a long time. It is my theory when everyone is running around cold, if we allllllllllllllllll would think warm, it would be warm….or think, in unison again, cool, it would be cool. Now, I would apply this same theory to the election..but, but, but, we must all think in unison for it to work…I mean, of course, it has to be the same candidate :) :).
Now, the reason this is important is that I have seriously thought about setting up a new business, and of course, I want tax exempt status, and…well, of course, I want all of you to be in business with me…we will sell hot/cold credits. Yes…I am sure this will work and I am sure people will buy the credits…my theory should work, absolutely. This is easy, and no one has to do anything but gather up a bunch of friends who all either want to be hot or cold, of course, and think..think..think..I am positive we will be millionaires in a very short time, and I am positive people will buy these credits. Who wants in?…..Who…..Who…yes, it will work brothers and sisters!! Praise the lord and pass those hot/cold credits!!! Hallelujah!!!!

Well, Will I think she is. I always remove all the miscellaneous addresses and names IF I forward something. I have one girlfriend that sends it all…I mean her address book stuff with it. I have the e-mail address as well as the name that goes with it. There is no harm at all..she is eighty two, going on sixty two…great lady, lots of fun…but, she isn’t e-mailing anyone but us girls. My other friend…the one with allllllllllllllllllllll the stuff..geezzz, also doesn’t take off who sent what to her, so there is a lot of stuff before you get to what she has actually sent. Again, no real harm, but, I don’t know why she doesn’t take it off. It’s not hard. I don’t know anything and I know I can do that. I don’t forward. I really think if I have it, probably everyone else does to. The older ladies like to do the chain stuff, which drives me nuts! Will…funny stuff about the Rush story. We used to watch his show and I think we even have one of his first books on our shelf..although a little dusty. One can’t deny that he is intelligent, creative, and passionate about things.

Chas…here in my house we would agree with you and your opinion about the outcome in November. We really think that “McMedia” as you call him, will beat whomever the Dems put up against him.

I’ve been able to vote since the 86′ primary. So I have only voted in four presidential elections. Bush 41, Dole, Bush 43 x 2. Although my parents were always people that never missed an opportunity to vote…and yes, they were republicans.
I remember my current events teacher talking to us about registering to vote. That was the same year that the Challenger blew up. That same teacher was ticked because he didn’t get selected to go on the trip to space. We had a party in class that day to watch the take-off of the Challenger. We watched that live on the school TV. My teacher didn’t come in the rest of the week.
My point… hhmm… was simply that he explained both political parties (or tried to) so that we wouldn’t feel pressured to vote like our parents. He wanted to make sure that we stood on our own and know why we voted a certain party.

Greenroom… why the name? I’m feeling stupid again. You don’t have to answer, I am going to go search for my answer. lol

I think the “Green Room” is a carry over from stage. Something to do with the green lighting making the actors look better or something like that.

You can turn on the Flesch-Reading Ease, Flesch Grade Level Indicator by going under Tools in Word. If I am incorrect, go to Help.

I have taken to writing all of my missives in Word and copying them to the Aliblog. It can work the other way too. I can paint the text and copy it to my Alisphere entry for that day.

For example:

Pat! Pat! It’s not fluff reading. We are after all, trying to go to sleep….that is the purpose of the whole excersice after all. If we read anything important we would be pinching ourselves to stay awake…geezz, the hubby is testing my typing skills, as he is talking to me and requiring answers too..ah, he’s done now, whatever he said..I hope it wasn’t important. Something about the toilet and baseball tickets. I know. I told you he was ADD. But, dinner was delicious, so that is not a complaint. Anyway, our books are not Fluff!! I demand respect for beautiful Tobias and strikingly short, but wonderfully lovely, red headed Lavinia. Yes, we demand respect, yes we do. Short, of course, and he is very, very, very…well, very tall and handsome and brave and smart..fluff my eye! Certainly not, I say. :)

OK…Marshall gets the prize. Here is info about the “Green room” from a well known website that is not always accurate….starts with a “Wika” and ends in a “Pedia.”
A green room is a room in a theater, studio, or other public venue for the accommodation of performers or speakers when not required on the stage.
It’s function is as a break/touch-up lounge so that performers do not have to go back to wardrobe/dressing rooms and are still easily accessible for their call.

I think I would have just called it a “Holding Tank”. lol

Select the Show readability statistics check box, and then click OK.

On the Standard toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.), click Spelling and Grammar .
When Microsoft Word finishes checking spelling and grammar, it displays information about the reading level of the document.

Wow Will, you really take this blogging serious. Maybe I will try that tomorrow, pasting my posts into a document first that can check all my spelling and grammatical errors. I’m going to also dust off my thesaurus and start using some impressive wording. ;o)
Writing was never my strong point.

Yes Sheila. We all remember what we were doing. I had the kids all sitting on the floor in front of the t.v., it was so exciting. I made wonderful treats and we were all ready for the show. I will never forget it as long as I live. The kids didn’t have a clue, but, I picked the phone up and called my husband at work and started crying…he’s frantic…I’m crying!!! geezz! Anyway, it was pretty bad for sure. It would have been awful anyway, but with the teacher….well, oh my!
I wasn’t aware that anyone didn’t know what the green room meant. No theater people here…entertainers, other than Will who is a famous comedian I have decided as well as author….no time spent in the green room huh? Well, you ain’t missing a thing. Crowded and hurried, by nature, and waiting, of course. :) This is a mystery Pat, and we can solve it. We are skilled and practiced at the art of sleuthing…yes we are..there were a few we read where there was some pinching they were so good. :
There are those moments…for sure. I remember exactly where I was when Kennedy was shot also…and exactly what I felt..yeah, there are some things that are just indelible….but, those blue eyes on the history teacher…sigh, sigh, sigh~~~~:)

Comment by Sheila

Well…my original question was .. green room.. why the “name”? Like..who came up with the name? why? I’ve heard the word used a lot and knew it was where guest waited to go on Tv..etc. but for some weird reason tonight, i just wondered …why….green? why not the blue room or the holding tank. LOL

Comment by PAT NEW PORT RICHEY FL

sheila

maybe the original green room was painted green that could be the simple solution

I use to use word to write at times, but here I mostly just type it out.

However with Firefox if I miss a words spelling it underlines it in red and I can go back and correct it. Most of my spelling errors come from CRS, (can’t remember stuff), which comes from getting old and not having a brain to use or more than 2 working brain cells, which is my case.

BTW, drinking does not kill brain cells. That is a myth if it did I would have been an idiot before I was 20, oh wait I was and still am…lol Forget that post. ;)

Well the wife has headed off to bed to read, the 4 legged kids are watching me like a hawk waiting to go out so they can have a “cookie” and go to bed. So I guess I will can this a night and wish you my friends a wonderful evening.

Since tomorrows the open blog Friday, (someone remind me to remind Ms. Alisyn to post a blog for the weekend), I am going to ask you to check out the link I attached to my name. I will explain it in more detail tomorrow but it is a project my wife has been working on for a year or better.

So until the early AM, and those who know me know it will be early…lol, I bid you good eve.

Most respectfully,
chas

Yeah, Virginia, there are days in our past that are just sort of frozen in our brains. We all have memories for a reason, I think so we never forget.

Comment by Virginia

Oh Will, I just learned to do spell check on this site and now I need to learn that, “stuff”…I am pretttttyyyy sure I can’t do that..I mean, do that and then cut and paste and send and, what did you say? I think I gave you that response to the forwarding, and then I went back and read what you had written, and now I an thoroughly confused…my answer made no sense at all. Well, like we are surprised about that! NOT!!!
Pat….the sluething referred to is to find out which famous person he is…shhhhhhhhhhhhh!! whisper…we must be verrrrrryyyy clever and quiet, cunning and devious. i hope we don’t have to learn to cut and past and check grammer and spelling and..well, you know. i’m whispering..that’s why the small caps….all that stuff. we will definitely be pinching ourselves to stay awake. i learned to whisper when talking to chas at work so as not to alert his boss…now, whispering is a real skill that probably really does come in handy, yes, i am sure of that. chas has not been caught yet, and i am sure that is why……
The remote has been rested from me just as Hannity is coming on!!! Oh well….it’s ok. After all, he may yet have to see to the toilet…as I wasn’t listening, I may need help if there is something I am supposed to do or whatever. Ah! Yes! life is good and definitely not boring at all ever!!!! It is a wee bit calmer, however, if I have TAKEN MY PILL!!!!! :) :):)

It serves us well Sheila, I think also. Yep…it does. The day Kennedy was shot I had a fabulous date for the senior picnic, which was canceled, and I never did go out with that boy. Providential? Hummmm…maybe! One never knows. Yep…:)

Nite Pat…tomorrow and sweet dreams..we love fluff!!! :)

Pat…that is because it is politically incorrect to show the film from that moment in our history. Another amazing thing that has happened. lol

We haven’t forgotten here, we never will. My kids were home that day the first plane hit. We got a phone call to turn on the TV. We stood for a long time just glued to the tv set …simply scared…speechless…filled with grief. While watching, who knew that another plane would hit? my kids and I watched it live. It will be something they nor I, will ever forget. I worried about them at first, but they did OK. They asked why. I had no answer except “evil”.

So I use my anger for a positive and support the TROOPS. We pray for them daily…they are there for ME and my family…and they don’t even know me.. If any of them are reading this blog. Thank you.

What was the original question? Something to do with NASA….. oh yeah..

Good nite Chas…I am looking at the clock and I knew I had to chat fast as the time was nigh for the four leggers..and bed time for the early riser :( I am sad, but, will see you in the morn, but, hopefully not sooooooooooo early, altho, I liked having that extra time before you had to work for real. That means Marshall is also gone or going….the beautiful people are going to bed…Will, and everyone………………….shhhhhhh, sleep tight and sweet dreams. I will definitely check the site…read about it yesterday or this morning I think? :)

Ms. Pat,

I had to respond before I left. It was reasoned that it might cause us to remember and thus dislike those who did the crime. So we refuse to show it on TV. Stupid in CAPS.

How quick do people forget? We kept less of our pay check under Clinton and this Clinton wants to go back there and Obama wants to take even more and people seem to think that’s good idea. BTW more people, though by a small margin, were out of work under Clinton than today and interest rates were higher.

Ms. Virginia, tell you what, you e-mail me at efsherm@hotmail.com, this is a throw away addy I use, and I will help you with some of your computer skills if you would like.

OK godnight for real this time.

I haven’t used Works in 20 years. I do not know if it has the Flesch reading/writing indices.

I went to grad school for a masters in education. Fat lot of good that did me, because I am intolerant of rude behavior. Additionally, I am the self appointed/annointed Charter President of the local chapter of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. Liberals don’t tolerate VRWC.

I decided to write my entries in Word because so many of my entries did not post. I became tired of being inspired to write something informative or clever and see it go into the digital bit bucket (DBB).

You are correct about taking things seriously. That is why I try to infuse humor in many of my posts. But politics and America’s future concerns me greatly.

Sheila…another event totally imprinted. I was at work, and my boss was gone to Fla on convention..so it was just me. The building holds a ton of people….four stories, and full…quiet, quiet. My son called to tell me what was going on..had just started, and he had to tell me three times before it sunk in. We were all running down the hall to the big t.v. in the cafeteria, and, oh my..oh my..oh my……quiet horror and grief and disbelief. They did shut the building down and sent everyone home, so I closed the office and also left. I didn’t do any balancing or day end or anything. My boss couldn’t get back, of course, as all the flights were grounded. Whew! Still is vivid for all of us and it should not ever go away. I just got pictures today from WWII of the death camps and the people…when Eisenhower marched in he had tons of pictured taken and personal statements from the towns people, all of them he could find. He told his personal to be diligent to guard against the day when it would be said….this never happened. I believe that is happening right now. The UK has stopped teaching the holocaust as part of the history so as not to offend any other ethnic groups that might be attending class……….something to ponder for sure, and a reminder to stay diligent. We are a bit melancholy tonite…but, that is ok. Reminders are just fine in this very important time right now as we choose the man who will lead this country and vanquish the evil that is around us today.

Is everyone going off to their book and bed or favorite t.v. show? It is 9:30 here, so I know those that have to get up, need to think about going to bed…except Jimmy, who has insomnia, but should still go to bed, of course. I may just start re-reading beautiful Tobias and fiery red headed Levinia…maybe I will risk my ankle being bumped and get back in my own new sleep number bed..setting 35 :) and hit the hay myself. Or, I could put in Around the World in Eighty days, with Pierce Brosnan…yumm! I just love him. I usually am asleep by the time the credits are over or the first ten minutes anyway. No cable on that little t.v. in the bedroom…the spare room has cable. Orrrrrrr, maybe I’ll do both!!! Not a good idea probably. I forgot tomorrow was Fri….

There had been a slight break in the summer’s heat and humidity that morning. The sky was stark blue without even a wisp of a cloud dancing across its infinity. It was just another school day, yet I had rushed to get my son there so that he would not be late and I could have a meeting with his teachers. When I entered the receiving area, I noticed all eyes were focused on a television situated in a corner and mounted high above everyone in the room. The first aircraft had just hit one of the towers and it was noisy with speculation and wonderment about how such an accident could occur. Then came the next jetliner into view and all doubt left the room. We were under attack!

Marshall…and it was chilling. The building I work in was quiet, quiet, quiet and everyone left, one at a time..solemn, teary eyed..worried. The whole building was empty, and I actually got scared, which is why I left everything undone, locked up, and left. The audtor actually ask about that…I looked at him and said..well, I was polite, but, it wasn’t critical I assure you. Very small operation here, and he could see the date. He just shook his head and said I see..it’s ok. It was chilling and for the life of me I am offended on every level that it is a secret…but, shouldn’t be surprised I guess. Drives me up a wall when Hillary starts in using it as a credential when she will do worse for the country and not honor any of this or that which went before. Whew! This is going to be one very emotional election for everyone, for a lot of reasons.

Well geezzzzzzzzzzz! I am in the land of F5 again. This is hilarious. Elaine….and altho it is a small phobia, I certainly do make some really funny mistakes. If I really get going I may not take the time to proof, so some of the stuff comes out kind of weird and hard to understand just what I might be musing about! Oh well…I was one of these mothers that covered the paper with red pencil and wrote the teacher notes on what I thought was important about what they didn’t think was. Too funny! But, I thought it was fairly important that the children could write down their thoughts so they at least made sense, for goodness sake. It was a little embarrassing for the kids in retrospect, but, they got a little more careful how they wrote after that…so it worked, more or less. The spell check on this site is so easy, I have gotten just a little lazy, as I don’t have to think. Let us see, now, if I am out of the land of F5 or not….:)

Well…good night all…I am in the land of F5 and it won’t fix itself. Sorry Elaine..I would have chatted a little while longer. Marshall, I thought you were off to bed already, but, there you are and I am out here in nether land :( :( This happened this afternoon, apparently to several, so I didn’t feel as if the puter was broken anyway. Good morning bloggers,

The Dems are still tying their collective shorts in a knot over the race/gender split for President.

Disneyland lives on!

Well TGIF is here I only work until lunch time but it’s calling for rain most of the day. Oh well a bad day at home is is better than a good day at work.

I think I’ll make this one a quick one so I can catch up on the overnight News so I can sound like I might actually know something. ;)

Enjoy the morning.

Good Morning and TGIF!!!!!!!!!!

Why are people now pushing so hard for Hillary to drop out? There is a good chance that she will when the next few primaries. Why shouldn’t she let the people decide?

Good morning Marshall,

I hope she stays in and steals the dang thing. I’d like nothing better than for that party to implode.

Wish I could could see her, but that has to wait until I get home. :(

Short day today so it should be an easy day.

Hi Alisyn,
I was watching your morning show yesterday and seen where someone else was biten by a shark in New Smyma Beach. My daughter was biten in 2000 at same location. She was 12 at the time,
her name is Amber Benningfield, at that time she did not do many interviews, but now at 21, she may talk to you about what happen. I want to say first, that she is ok, a few scars. I guess the only reason I am writhing is, that area has a big problem with Sharks and not sure why people still go there and get in water.

Trying to find the NASA site that is recruiting for this program is impossible with the instructions from news groups. It says to type in “Bed Rest Study” in the search block. What comes up is seven pages of data dated from 2001. Is this a REAL program? If so, could you tell me exactly where the signup is located?

Thank you.
