The Winner of the Breakfast with Fox&Friends Contest is…

…well, first, let me give you a hint: it’s a man.

I’ll reveal the answer right after my next newsbreak…

8:45am update

You guys are not going to believe this…we have to postpone our big announcement of the contest winner until Monday because of this deadly crane accident.  I’m so sorry!  I didn’t mean to tease it quite this much.  Please accept our apologies.  We look so forward to sharing the name with you.

Open Blog Friday

Good morning Everyone! So, what do you think of the name of the big blue screen — The Big Picture? We felt that says it all. “Now here’s Alisyn with The Big Picture.” Hey, why didn’t Steve just use that when he tossed to me?? Clearly, we’re going to need some practice.

Did you hear our debate this morning about the quality in employees that most annoys top executives? Cursing. Yup, cursing rates even higher than drinking on the job and leaving early! What the @#$&?? Employees, on the other hand, say the worst offense is stealing other people’s food from the office fridge. (this means YOU, culprit on the 18th floor of FNC!) What is your personal pet peeve?

And, how great was it to see Rick and Bubba this morning? It was one giant love fest in the Greenroom with our old friends from Alabama visiting. Did you hear — they’re running for President? They say two jokers are better than one clown (I think they meant politician). Check out their new book “Rick and Bubba for President.”

Rudy & My New Intern!

Scott McClellan’s Motive

(photo courtesy of AP)Can his motive for writing his new tell-all book really be purely financial as so many critics claiming today? Surely as a former press secretary for a president, McClellan could have parlayed that position into something very lucrative — something that wouldn’t have alienated his close friends and colleagues. So perhaps his motivation was exactly what he claims: he had a crisis of conscience after having contributed to the misinformation surrounding the run-up to the Iraq War and the CIA leak scandal. Thoughts?

And good news — I’ve got a new intern (now that A.J. has been promoted to, I don’t know, VP of television or something). Her name is Audra and she goes to Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. (photo to be posted shortly). It’s her first day in the Greenroom. Any advice for her?

Also, tune in at 8:30 when we reveal the new name of the Blue Screen. You all sent in sooooo many fantastic suggestions yesterday. We laughed out loud reading some of them. We cried reading others. No, not really. I’ll try to do a wrap of all of them on the After the Show Show.

Name the Wall

You’ve all sent in such great suggestions for our new wall!  Tomorrow we’ll decide which one to go with.  Keep em coming.

And I know SO MANY of you have been wondering what on earth happened to our much ballyhooed “Breakfast w/FOX & Friends” contest.  I’m happy to announce that we have a winner!  On Friday’s show we’ll give that person’s name on the air AND HERE ON THE BLOG.  Stay tuned…

Homeschoolers Unite

Hope you all had a nice holiday weekend and managed to remember our servicemen and women in some special way. Nice to be back. Running around after three toddlers makes for a fun weekend, though not the most relaxing. Speaking of toddlers, sorry about that baby crying during our 6:45 segment on Homeschoolers. Man, I feel their pain. It never fails — a baby is quiet during the commercial, then wham, the camera light goes on and the wailing begins!

If any of you are homeschooling parents, I’d like to hear your thoughts on Subway excluding you from their contest that would award cash prizes for the best essay written by an elementary school student. Subway’s argument is that the $5000 dollars is supposed to go to for sports equipment to the athletic department of a school, which arguably, homeschooled kids don’t need.

And, on a related note, HOW DO YOU DO IT?? I’m in awe of people who take on their child’s education all themselves, beyond all the regular responsibilities of parenting.

For the rest of you, do you think Subway is acting fairly? Do you think the homeschoolers boycott will make a dent?
