Hear TV secrets from the man who started it all…

Bill-istic!

Remember back when Bill Clinton was seen as Hillary’s greatest asset?

Not sure her campaign would still classify him that way.

He was asked this week about his comments after the South Carolina primary in which he compared Barack Obama’s win to Jesse Jackson’s back in 1988. The Obama campaign called it racist. Well, yesterday he responded to that charge, replete with an expletive (when he thought he wasn’t being recorded). Here’s the audio:

Now watch his response to a reporter who asked him again about this yesterday. Clinton seems confused about why a pack of people keep following him around asking questions. Um, Mr. President? They’re called reporters and the “game” you refer to is a fun little prank we like to call “reporting.” We’re surprised you’ve not heard of it before.

The First Ladies

Mrs. Bush and her daughter Jenna hung out in the Greenroom this morning. They graciously snapped pictures with us and signed their book “Read All About It!” for my children. Jenna sweetly complimented their names. What a wonderful keepsake! Now how will I keep maniacal toddlers from ripping the book to shreds, spilling milk on it and playing tug-of-war with it? How will I keep this intact until they’re of an age to realize its significance? Must find hiding place.

How Hillary Can Win

Did you hear the headline Karl Rove dropped on us in our 6am hour?  He’d been crunching the numbers this morning (he came on with his notepad and pen) and said that with Hillary’s Pennsylvania win, coupled with her wins in Michigan and Florida (which have yet to be counted), Hillary now leads in the popular vote.  Rove suggests we could see another scenario in which one candidate wins the popular vote and another (Barack Obama) wins the delegates.  What then??  And who do you think John McCain would race face in the general election?

Pennsylvania Predictions

You’ve got about 8 hours until the polls close, care to make a prediction as to whether Obama or Hillary will win the primary?  And by how many points?  What will you win if you get it right?  A round of applause from all of us In the Greenroom.  Oh, by the way, we’re starting at 5am (edt) tomorrow.  Call all your insomniac friends to alert them!

Feeling trapped?

We got so many emails during our 6am hour that I’ve decided to reprise the topic for In the Greenroom. It’s about that viral video of the guy trapped in his office elevator — for 41 hours!

We played the time-lapsed surveillance video of him alternately feeling bored and freaked out. I said that being trapped for 41 hours sounds like a nice getaway to me. You know you’re over-extended when a protracted elevator ride becomes a good opportunity for a nap.

What would you do with 41 hours if you were trapped? And how many of you HAVE actually been trapped in an elevator or somewhere similar. (I’m sorry, a bad marriage doesn’t count — one of our viewers already tried that). If you missed the video, check it out below!

Question of the day!

If you watched our 6am hour today, you know this was a hot topic. Here’s your chance to weigh in.

All 3 hours

Good morning everyone.   Happy Monday.  I’ll be hosting from 6am - 9am (edt) this morning (Gretchen’s on vacation), so it’ll be tough for me to blog or respond during the show but I’ll check in afterward.  Let me know what you think of today’s show and some of the things that grab your attention.
