Question of the Day!
by Alisyn Camerota
It’s Monday and that means it’s Question of the Day day (from our Department of Redundancy department — the same folks responsible for the After the Show Show). Anywho, feel free to vote and weigh in on the debate we’re having in the Greenroom this morning.

Although I think Rev. Wright is off base, he has the right to express himself. I spent 26 years in the military defending EVERYONE’S right to free expression anytime, anywhere.
By all means let the guy keep talking!
Live on CNN, Rev Wright just said any criticism of his words are criticism of the Black Church. Next, Rev Wright will feed all at the National Press Club with 5 barley loaves and two fish.
You should allow multiple answers. All answers except “no” are applicable to me.
I agree with Marshall.
Let him blather on.
Even if I don’t agree with Rev.Wright’s comments,and he’s a loose cannon.
Rev. Wright has the right to speak his mind,no matter how off the wall, it may be.
Our military has fought for that right since our country’s first day.
We all know people who say things when we wish they would just keep still, but that is their right.
I believe Mark Twain said “it’s better to let folks think you are dumb, than opening your mouth and removing all doubt.” Or something to that effect.
Alisyn, Rev Wright should express himself, the more he talks the more we get to know Obama.
Sal
Alli,
I absolutlely love listening to Rev Wright. I have defended his right to free speech and will continue to do so.
However, just like screaming “Fire” in a crowded movie theater is not “free speech,” Rev Wright better have the fortitude for answering for his “hatist’ remarks.
I did see you credited another with my “sunshine” remark and I knew you went caught up in the throes of delivering the news, commentary, and stellar physical presence.
I was dismayed that you did not respond to the invitation to hunt for the elusive Mr. Tom. If you hop on a flight out of JFK you can be down here this afternoon.
Ask Kelly to send his limo to the Hagerstown Regional Airport. My wife and I will provide refreshments – wine cooler, beer, eats, to help you recover from the flight on the “puddle jumper.”
Suggestion: Can you conduct a poll of fellow Alibloggers on this question. Should the Greenroom name be changed to the “Fox Den?” Would you support a change of name. Greenroom has too many shades of enviromentalist overtones.
Lastly, I forgot to add Julie Banderas and Molly Line to the list of Fox beauties. There are too many to remember.
Love Fox & Friends,
Will
P.S. Send me the flight info. I’ve sized you up for your Real Tree outfit. Even though a 410 gauge is better “fitin” (think of Mammy’s speeck to Ms. Scarlet) your petite size, a 20 ga Will have to do. W.P.
I would like to post a long insightful comment here, but according to the “Rev”, not only do I need to get my normal work wrapped up, but as a 30 y/o white male, I have obviously been overlooking my duties of oppressing the black man.
I would like to apologize to the rest of my race for not carrying my share of the load. Here I just thought I should treat everyone with respect, go to work, take care of my family, and pay my taxes.
Crap, now he just told me I should be oppressing the black man’s dance moves too? Busy day shaping up.
Alli,
Last one, promise.
I beg forgiveness for passing judgment on Rev Wright. That is not up to me but up to Thee. I just got emotional about his SoS remarks about the greatest country in the WORLD. (Ed. note – for those distressed about my statist, xenophobic, non-secular love of country and belief in the Almighty call 1-800-328-7448 (read your keypad first).
Rev Wright is about 90 miles east of me now at the National Press Club running his mout. Wonder if he could detour to the west, for the round house punch I would like to give him.
Sorry, Sorry. Will is a man of peace. I “messed up” again.
Will
Reverend Wright is not helping himself or Obama. Most people believe that racial discrimination is wrong.
It is apparent that Reverend right has built up a lot of resentment over the years against everyone who has discriminated against him.
The resentment and anger in his message does not help to resolve the problem
Jeremiah Wright is a total smartass. He mocked the representative of the press, and acted very arrogant and all knowing. Her really enjoyed being the center of attention. He didn’t explain anything. I certainly didn’t see the Love in all this. I didn’t see the Reconciliatary attitude.
I am very afraid if he represents all ministers of black churches. If he appeals to OBAMA, then I am done with him.
The Rev is a real piece of work and filled with hate. He talks around what his face is really saying and he takes every opportunity to mock the white race. Btw, I am of English/Scottish decent and my skin is darker than Rev. Wright’s so I don’t know why he is on a kick about his skin color.
Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall at the Obama campaign headquarters right now? lol
By all means let him talk, I believe that you have the right to display your ignorence so long as it does me no injury nor picks my pocket.
chas
REV. WRIGHT HAS THE RIGHT (NO PUN) TO SAY WHATEVER. HOWEVER I DO WISH THAT THE ONE QUESTION THAT HE RAISED BE ANSWERED. MY BEST FRIEND IS BLACK AND I HAVE NEVER NOTICED A LEFT/RIGHT BRAIN PROBLEM BETWEEN US. HOWEVER POSSIBLY MR. OBAMA WOULD BE A “GREAT” PRESIDENT SINCE MOST PRESIDENTS EITHER LEAN TO THE LEFT(DEM) OR TO THE RIGHT (REP). HOWEVER SINCE MR. OBAMA HAD A WHITE MOTHER AND A BLACK FATHER, IF YOU FOLLOW REV. WRIGHTS SCIENCE, HIS BRAIN MAY BE A PERFECT “MIDDLE OF THE ROAD” THINKER. MIGHT MESS UP HIS DANCING THOUGH.
Let the “Rev” talk. He (and his “parishoner”) will be hoisted by his own petard!
If my memory serves me correctly, Rev. Wright was verbalized by Obama himself as being his “mentor”, so by all means let the man talk ! When you look up the definition of mentor…hhhmmm
I am surprised that Mrs Rev Wright hasn’t told him to pipe down.
Obama should move forward and ignore him.
Based on some of the comments I read…Its safe to assume that on judgement day, when Obama has to stand before the almight God to give an account for HIS transgressions, God will say…wait a minute Obama YOU are ALSO responsible for Rev. Wright’s sins too…You guys give me a break. Since when is one man accountable for another mans actions, oh yea that’s right…since we found out that Obama’s former pastor has some strong views about the opression of ALL people of COLOR!
American politics is a joke…and we have the nerve to force this process upon other nations.
I think Sal summed it up correctly in his comment on April 28th, 2008 at 9:23 am. The more Wright speaks the more we learn about Obama.
One more thing . . . No matter what the context, when Wright says “G__ D___ America”, I know what he means.
Hi Alli
You and the gang were great today as always. I think it’s best that he keeps on talking because we continue to learn more about Obama’s thoughts and ideas which scare me when I think of the possibility of him being our president.
Rev Wright absolutely should be allowed to express himself. Gives us more insight into who Senator Obama is. After all he is (was) his spiritual adviser that mentored him & introduced Obama to Jesus. Who knows, he could be our next White House Chaplain.
Rev. Wright made a very convincing argument on Sunday night that Black and White children do not learn and conversely can not be taught using the same tools or techniques. That was the argument put forth in the 60’s to support equal but separate schools. If he is correct it is no wonder that public education has collapsed. I do not believe any one teacher could meet the requirements for parallel teaching methods in the same 30 minute class. Where was he in the sixties?
I listened to Rev. Wright’s speech to the NAACP. I tuned in expecting the worst and came away impressed and supportive. He was thoughtful, intelligent, very much an American–and one hell of a preacher. He could certainly get me into church on Sundays….I hate couching this in terms of color but I’m white–generally considered a conservative and I thought the Rev. Wright was terrific. I’d love to hear more–no wonder Obama refuses to abandon the man–and I have more respect for Obama because he sticks by Wright—too many politicians turn their backs on people they know and love just for the sake of appearance….an honest man is refreshing.
Too late! Should have distanced himself long before now. To stiffle him now would look purely superficial.
This is a free country…he has a right to free speech. His comments are not Barack Obama’s comments. Has anyone heard any such comments come from his mouth? He speaks hope for this country, even more than President Clinton did when he was running…it was okay then, but now that his wife didn’t think of it, it’s bad for the country? Barack for President! He’s in touch with the American people, he has the right message, if he didn’t thousands of American’s would not be listening or showing up at his rally’s….those people are not ignorant, they want change and believe in the message of HOPE. Hillery only offers division…and will attempt to steal this great moment from Barack by any means necessary!
The Rev. Wright isn’t going to change (and I use the title “Rev.” loosely). He is a racial bigot; he is anti-American; and he is everything that is anti-Christian. The question isn’t whether Obama should tell him to quiet down; it’s, “Why is Barack Obama attending a church where hate is preached?” You attend a church, hopefully, to worship God and to fellowship with other believers. You choose a church based on how closely that church aligns with your personal beliefs. So what does that tell you about Obama? I think that I need say nothing more . . .
He should have the right to speak his mind–though you may or not agree!
I lost part of my limbs and my friends lost their life for him as well as you.
Thats what you should take away from this.
I do not care what he says. The media seems to care and they give him the national exposure he seeks.
we do have freedom of speech , so let him talk
I do not care what he says. The media seems to care and they give him the exposure he seeks.
Why ask the “SO CALLED” preacher to sit down and shut up? They’re (he and Obama) singing from the same choir book. I think Obama learned all he ever knew from Wright. Now, wouldn’t they make quite a team, Obama for President and Wright for VP. Wright mentioned this morning, he would like the VP slot…..not to be President, but just the VP. Now, what do you all think about that one? They should get along fabulously well. *grin* I wouldn’t vote for them, and I most certainly hope you all wouldn’t!
Obama says campain if he gets nominated will not be about RACE! However, Obama and his supporter Wright will make sure it is ALL ABOUT RACE!
Or is Wright like Jesse and Al who want to ensure Obama does not get elected so they can continue to play the race card and claim they are second class citizens!
Those of us over 60 have seen this game all our lives and are tired of it!!!!!
this man is full of Hate.. who does he think he is, Im a white lady and have lots of black friends, but he will make them and myself look at each other differently, only cause it brings up the issue of what we have heard in the past about each others culture…he is dividing not bringing each culture together…I have found out in my daily working with and talking to others differently than myself that I find we are all human and have the same feelings and cares of family, country and of course God…I think we need to take each day as it comes and my philosophy is you can always be nice… thanks for letting me write my thoughts… PJ Bearden, Holt, Michigan
I think it’s great he’s sinking Obama…….
I thought some of our ancestor’s apologized to the black man by giving thier lives in the Civil War–was I mistaken? Why does each generation continuely have to apologize for some one elses mistake to a generation that is is not even effecting? I am completely lost- As for Mr. Wright- God will be his judge—
freedom of speach is one thing//// but learning to keep your mouth// shut is another
It is amazing to me that the country Wright slams and complains about is the same one which allows him to do this anywhere he pleases without fear of arrest. What country does the Rev. Wright admire and want America to emulate ?
It’s sad that Mr. Wright continues to spew trash. People like Don Imus make a stupid comment and feel the wrath. Where are all the black leaders now? Why aren’t they condemning Mr. Wright like they did Imus?
I’ve never been racist in my 44 years of existance, but when I hear comments like the ones put forth by Mr. Wright , I start to understand why the racial divides in this country will never disappear. Mr. Wright has shown many Americans how many in the black church feel. I personally have changed my vote to anyone but Obama as a result of Obama’s association with Mr. Wright.
I’m a fan of him continuing his rant as he is undoubtedly hurting Obama. Free speech is fine if the rules apply to all. Why do some have to be cautious and politically correct, while others go forward with reckless disregard?
I had fully intended to vote for Obama until Pastor Wright came into the picture. Now it is likely I will not vote at all … UNLESS Hillary should appear on the ballot in any position. Should that happen, I will hold my nose and vote for McCain.
It appears Obama cannot even control one crazy old man — certainly he is not qualified to run the country. The comment Wright made about accepting a position on the ticket as Vice President did not fall on deaf ears … AND IT WAS NOT FUNNY … or I should say about as funny as Hillary for a running mate. God help us … both candidates are a disgrace to the Democratic Party.
No, because he is helping to reveal what Obama really is.
Interesting question. I was torn between “doesn’t matter…” and “let him keep talking…”
I am of the opinion that as he continues to talk the more he will enlighten the general public as to what his agenda is. Or I should say – perhaps his and Louis Farakhan’s agenda is.
Obama should just denounce him……
It’s not about the black church or Obama.
It’s all about ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME!
I am a white Republican. Though some of Rev. Wright’s views seem harsh, some of what he says is the truth. ALL politicians say what they think the public want to hear. It’s all part of the game. Obama is no different from Clinton or McCain. They all pander to public opinion. Every politician can make all the promises in the world, but when elected, they still have to deal with the SAME Congress and same issues at hand. What they say today may not be reality tomorrow. As for Rev. Wright, he has the right to free speech. We don’t have to agree with all he says but his right to free speech is just as important as our own.
Thank God , we live in a democracy. Rev. Wright can say what he wants. If we are stupid enough to believe it, that is our fault. Before we believe everything we hear, we should research to see if he is just blowing off steam or he is really sincere about the subject. I think that people just want to stir up controversy.
The Dems and their stumbling supporters are a constant source of amusement, entertainment, and ammunition for their opponents. They’re the original Gang Who Couldn’t Shoot Straight.
Chris, loved your comments! I have never heard anyone speak so obnoxiously as Rev. (?) Wright. I believe he is a disgrace to the true Reverends of this world. He is an agitator – not a peacemaker. And he is drawing a wedge between the whites and blacks of this country. If this kind of rhetoric is what the blacks have been listening to all their lives, no wonder they feel animosity towards the white man! Instead of preaching peace in his church, he has been stirring the waters of hatred and animosity. I think Rev. Wright is destroying Obama – and really is interested in other one thing – himself!! He loves the media attention. Too bad they cannot turn a deaf ear to this selfish, egotistical and evil man!!
Good afternoon Alysin…..Riley…I agree, however, Rev Wright makes it difficult to believe anything he says when he mixes facts with fiction. This is inexcusable for a man who preaches the word, and wants me to believe him. If I have to sort out the truth, from the obvious fiction, it becomes a matter of his credibility..so why bother to listen to him at all. His right to free speech is his to have. His responsibility to be accurate and truthful is increased expedentially because of his collar. Under this guise he has influenced a whole congregation of children and adults alike. This should alarm everyone because of his association with the junior senator from Illinois and his wish to be President of these United States. Hello Will, if you are still there…..:)
Reverend Wright is a perfect example of everything that is wrong in this country. He is a racist through and through and hides behind his “black church” in the name of God. How disgusting he is. The simple fact that Obama’s own pastor refers to his church as “Black” reveals exactly where he stands on the issue of race. My God belongs to all of us…His does not! Barrack Obama and his pathetic excuse for a pastor will never earn my trust or respect. I pray that the American people will have more sense than to elect a man with an obvious agenda to further divide this great country of ours. Change like his “Change” is not wanted!
I’m sure as long as the press keeps covering, the REV. will keep talking. I have just one question for the REV. Are all racist WHITE or do some models also come in BLACK?
I think Obama should put Reverend Wright on “ignore”. The constant harping about Wright and Obama only serves to give Wright an egotistical podium. Let’s write the guy off as a wingnut and start asking Obama about meaningful issues.
Alli,
Not the last one after all.
Seems to me that Rev Wright could be staging his own “Operation Chaos (OpC).” For the sake of discussion lets call it “Operation Counter Chaos (OpC2).
The democrats know Barack Hussein Obama is a major liability right now. The stooges see Hillary as the best way to the White House. Hill and Bill take back the White House. B. Hussein Obama returns to the Senate, builds a street cred with Hill’s help, and is in position for 2016. In 8 years the public forgets about Rev Wright, Screwy Loouie Farakan.
If the jackals get to this one, I’ll post it again.
Love you, Gretchen, Jaime, Julie, Mollie, et. al.,
Will
Wright’s diatribe has now solidified his role in America as a radical, left-wing, black separatist. His “black liberation theology” is incendiary, vitriolic, and very divisive. Since Barack Hussein Obama had a legitimate, close relationship with Wright for over twenty (20) years, why didn’t Obama reject Wright’s statements a long, long time ago??!!
The good Rev. is quite a scholar however, I think he is pushing his own agenda. He could care less about Obama or anyone else but himself. Personally I think he’s way off base on just about everything he says. I think he starts talking, gets himself into a zoney and just doesn’t know when to shut up. I think this is great for the American people as they can get a better picture of what Obama is really about. Anybody that would stay in Rev. Wright’s church for 20 yrs has to have heard quite a bit of this same garbage.
Chuck, Jacksonville, Fl.
The opinions and comments that Reverand Wright expresses are his. Why does the general public immediately place them onto Mr. Obama? Why aren’t they berating the National Press people for having him speak at their affair? I am sure we all have known someone that has views that we don’t agree with. I do not agree with anything this “preacher” says but I do not portray those feelings to Obama. This is the type of person that truly seperates the races, by inciting these negative opinions!
First let me say that I’m a Proud Republican. I love Hannity and bloviating Bill O’ Reilly
)
There are others but Hannity and Bill O Reilly are the tops!
Now the Reverend question?
#1- It really doesn’t matter.
#2 Let him keep talking.
Its real simple- Benjamin Franklin said “He that lieth down with Dogs, shall rise up with Fleas.”
There’s not enough flea medicine in the world that can come close to cleaning Obama.
I also enjoy watching Hell-ary vs Obama
Rush was right!
I attended an all black church for 9 years as the only white member. Everyone was wonderful and full of love not hate. He is a disgrace and hope people don’t think all black preachers are like him!!!!!
I think people in America have the right to express their opinion but Rev. Wright’s opinions are not American and he should be considered , by Americans, as a loon.
This is not about Sen. Obama anymore. It is about the crazy left wing in this great country where everyone has the same opportunities.
And it doesn’t matter whether you learn from the right side of your brain or the left????
bas
The Rev is a hatemonger
Rev. Wright needs to be allowed to speak, because as he does, he reveals himself to be as hateful and dangerous as Hitler in my opinion. For a presidential candidate to be closely affiliated with someone of Wright’s beliefs is inconceivable!
It is better to know what a person thinks than to listen to others tell them what he thinks. Rev. Wright is only proving to Americans that he is an America hating biggot who despises any culture other than his own. He says he wants reconcilliation but it is obvious that his intention is to gain more members for his church. I say, let him speak. He condems himself.
Reverend Wright’s comments only matter to people who were never going to vote for Obama to begin with.
Obama has denounced ( there is that word again Ayl) Wright’s comments many times now, and still anchors and bloggers blather on as if it was Obama who originally said them (Sal). So it matters not what Wright says/does from now on to Obama supporters.
Let’s start talking about matters of substance. Or is that exactly the reason why we are STILL having conversations addressing this subject? Distraction, is a wonderful thing. Just ask Carl Rove, he will tell you.
I watched that speech/question thing this morning on Fox with the Rev.Wrigth and he is a very arrogant S.U.B. ! And he doesn’t act or practice Cristian religion , Rev. Wright is giving the gift to Obama that will keep giving. It is truly sad the belief that this Man has . I wounder when they are going to let all that hot air out his ASS ! everyone
There is no excuse for any Senator, including Senator Obama, to be in friendly association with any un-American person or un-American organization. None! Rev. Wright should go live in another country, perhaps Nigeria, where he can go on ranting and raving about how unfair and unjust America is to Afro-Americans. See how he likes his quality of life there!
I’m sick of Rev. Wright and Senator Obama and I hope they just go away. If Obama becomes the Democratic candidate for President, it’s a done deal for the Republicans and Sen. McCain will become President McCain. The team ticket of Hiliary Clinton/Guliani would be a winning Democratic ticket.
No more debates between Hiliary Clinton and Obama please. Obama should just go away quietly now! Let him give some of that “great amount of money his campaign has acquired” go toward helping a worthy cause (like helping poor Americans who have no jobs and can’t even afford gas or contribute to a college fund that includes ALL young Americans and not just “black” Americans!
Of course Rev Wright has the right to say what he wants. that’s not the issue or the question. the question is should Obama ASK (not tell) Rev. Wright to pipe down. Obama has that right as well. Personally I’m for McCain and hope the good Reverend keeps up his ranting. however from Obama’s perspective I would certinly have a talk with my friend the Reverend and let him know how much harm he’s doing to my chances of becoming the first African American President.
Alisyn -
I THINK IT’S GREAT THAT HE’S MAKING OBAMA LOOK BAD. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK REV.,
EVEN THOUGH WHAT YOU SAY EXTREMELY HATEFUL TOWARD AMERICA!
After listening to Mr. Wright I believe Michelle Obama’s comment about being proud of her country for the first time in her adult life could have come directly from years of listening to his sermons. I do not call him Reverend because a Christian minister – white or black- would not speak such hateful words – from the pulpet or to select people in private.
NO – Don’t stop him from talking!
This is the only way you find out what the people running for office are really like — On the surface they are God’s answer to the people – underneath, there may be something else brewing — And the brew comes out with the “friends”
Face it – Obama is a fad – It’s trendy to be for a black man – or a woman
You want a woman – you want a black —– How about Rice? Now that’s more like it…..
I believe that Rev. Wright has the right to speak at whatever speaking engagements people invite him to speak at. I have watched his last several couple of speaches, and I have to agree with alot of the things that he has said. However, I have enough intelligence and common sense to differentiate between a political speech from Barack Obama and a church speach from Rev. Wright. I would also like to think that majority of Americans, whether they be black, white, brown, or yellow, would have the same common sense. I believe that if it were not for the media spreading their poison and trying to bring Barack Obama down politically all day, every day, that the American voters may be able to be givens facts and concerns that American people are really concerned about. Let’s spend less focus on Rev. Wright and more focus the problems our country is facing such as the billions of dollars being spent unnecessarily on a war in Iraq and the countless innocent American lives being lost to help a country that refuses to help itself. Let’s focus on how to get stability in our economy, how to decrease crimes in our cities, how to have an affordable health plan, how to have schools to send our kids to where they can strive and learn with the proper textbooks, teachers, and other tools to foster a good educational environment. If people would stop listening to the lies and the smokescreens that the Hillary’s camp is giving them and see her for the desperate women/candidate that she is, they may be able to then listen to facts and legitimate concerns and issues that Obama is trying address.
One last thing, the media is supposed to give unbiased factual information, not use their shows to advance their own political agendas. Constanty putting down one candidate while building up another one is wrong for the media to do. The need to address political issues in an unbiased and proffessional manner, and have people on their shows that are both pro and con as to not show partiality over one candidate. If everyone would be hones and open minded, they would realize that BARACK OBAMA IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY !!
Oh by the way, I think that the person that can empathize with me as an ordinary hard working citizen striving to make ends meet, is someone who can relate to my position. A person whose family makes over 10 million dollars a year or a person whose wife is heir to a beer company fortune with private jets cannot possibly know nor understand what pains and troubles that the average everyday working person like myself has to endure. That’s why I believe Barack Obama should be the democratic nominee, because truly feels my pain and wants to bridge the gap between the government and the people as well as the haves and have nots.
I know this e-mail is rather long but I would appreciate it if you could address it on your show.

Did Gretchen have to wear the same dress on Monday that the girl on the weekend F&F wore over the weekend?
Rev. Wright is proof again, if we need it, that hate sells. If you know your audience you can push the right buttons to keep those tithes and offerings rolling in. Unfortunately, what is being heard from too many pulpits today is nothing more than a slick sales gimmick to make the “sheep” open their pocketbooks. The movie “Elmer Gantry” covered this topic well decades ago.
While they count their money, however, these bible thumpers should open and read the book they brandish and flourish. It has some pretty harsh things to say about so called “Shepards” who would lead their flocks astray. If you believe the book, and I do, these fellows are in for a real hot time.
hey,
my name is marissa and I am 15. I watch the show every morning as i get ready for school, so of course i was watching this morning when you started talking about Rev. Wright. Although, I wouldn’t vote for Obama if I was 18, and couldn’t care less about what hurts his campaign, I do think that his speech is very offensive and people are ridiculous for listening to anything he says. I do think someone needs to tell him (not necessarly Barack Obama) that the things he says are way out of line and people of religion are insulted by the things he says. Okay, time to do my research paper on the Presidential Election of 2008 =] bye.
Aly,
]
where is my earlier, comment ? To ON POINT for you ? Please give me the same right you guys in the media have,,, right to public speech!

refreshing to see Jacky Mason telling it like it is…….two sets of rules one for whites and one for blacks. I am in my mid 50’s and have watched my white friends and colleagues be reverse discriminated against, from college entry to promotions. And now I had a black person threaten me about what things will be like if O’bama gets elected…….scary……
Mr. Wright as i would call him, for me he shouldnt have the title Rev. or Pastor.
I listen to several black preachers on tv. in there churches, and they dont rant and rave and act like an It??????????. Wright sure cant prove to me that he hasnt acted like this for the last 20 years. but when his time comes he will answer to the man on the throne.
OBAMA SHOULD TELL THE REV THAT HE IS DOWNRIGHT WRONG AND HE IS MISSLEADING MILLIONS OF BLACKS THAT HAVE MORE OPPOTUNITY IN THE USA THAN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. WHY WOULD A PREACHER SPREAD SUCH LIES? HE LIVES IN AN EXPENSIVE HOUSE THAT MY TAX DOLLARS CONTRIBUTED TO. PLEASE EVICT HIM NOW AND COLLECT THE BACK TAXES FOR ALL OF US. HIS CHURCH SHOULD HAVE ITS TAX ADVANTAGES REVOKED NOW.
Hmm I guess my message hit the editing floor. I knew I should have left the Chris Wallace comment out. LOL..but I couldn’t help it. I call’m as a see’m.
Definitely, tell Mr. Wright to put the pipe down.
Let Rev Write ta;k all he wants! The more he talks the less likely Obama will be voted as President of the USA!
I think the Rev. Wright continues to make comments that hurt both Obama and the potential strength of the Democratic effort, however, his sideways comment about wanting to be VP, and his admiration of Farrakhan begin to approach frightening levels. Rev. Wright says when Farrakhan speaks, it is like when E. F. Hutton spoke. Let’s not forget the corruption, money laundering, and greed that took E. F. Hutton down…
yes, he should keep allowed to keep on talking ( cuz clearly he does love to hear himself ) but that doesn’t mean that the networks have to give him the platform or that i have to listen to him.
it is all about him. and this is a man of the clothe?
what i don’t understand is that finally a black man, that his race ( races ) can all be proud of , and this one man and all of his , dare i say, racist followers, are doing everything they can to not only jeopordize his chances of being the first black president, but are also jepordizing their own causes and giving fuel to the racist people in this country.
this makes sense why?
hopefully the voters will judge Omama and not this man who is clearly out to make himself known at any cost.
One again i’m not surprised by the dedicated fox bloggers.Facing the truth is difficult for you guys. You keep exposing your hate for obama because he has AFRICAN BLOOD running through his body.I know that none of you will admit it of course.Rev.Wright exposed your satanic wicked racism and it bothers you to the point where you cannot see,its like you have blood in your eyes.Do you actually really believe that GOD cannot see the hate your hearts?get real. The ENERGY in the universe now is going through a process that the all mighty is managing and when he/she get develops it and sends it back it will further expose all of you haters. This is GODS’world not yours.I know that the supremency attitude cannot help but manifest your arrogance because you think that different is difficient. The rest of the human family that has to suffer from your racist oppressive ways has been praying from deliverance from your beasty ways for at least 200yrs.We have given up on you racist beast, its in the hands of the heavenly father.I will never acknowledge any so-called supremency that you think that you might have .You think that because you can kill people with sophisticated weapons, you thinkthat this makes you superior when in fact it exposes you as the uncivilized beast that you are. Humanity just wants to live in peace without racism and race baiting and hating and thats what you fox bloggers do and you do it very well.I know that these words will piss a lot of you haters off,but what the heck, you have done your best to destroy peace loving peoples all around the globe.
Rev wright was on point, sometimes the truth just really hurts, but you will get through it.Look in your hearts and ask GOD almighty to help you deal with the truth.
I listened to Airhead Allisyn and Brian this morning trying to convince viewers thst Rev. Wright would have a harmful effect on Obama. This is proven untrue when you look at the polls in NC where Obama is leading Clinton. I think Al Franken needs to come to Fox&Friends to set you clowns straight !
OK It’s Tuesday now. Let’s move this thing along!
IF WE HAD FRIENDS LIKE REV.WRIGHT WHO WOULD NEED ENEMY IN THIS WORLD.
OBAMA BETTER UNDERSTAND THIS MAN IS JEALOUS OF HIS SUCCESS,AND HE IS NOT LOOKING OUT FOR FOR ANYONE ELSE BUT HIMSELF, AND IF HE HAS TO STEP ON HIM TO SAVE HIS BUTT HE WILL DO IT.
THIS IS A BITTER LESSON THAT OBAMA IS LEARNING FAST, THIS SCENARIO HAPPENS TO EVERYONE IN LIFE, IN MANY OCCASION AT WORK NO MATTER WHAT WALK OF LIFE WE ARE FROM.
NO MATTER IF YOU ARE FOR OBAMA, CLINTON OR MCCAIN THIS IS A LESSON OF LIFE FOR POLITICAL FIGURE OR THE VOTERS.
NOT A PRETTY PICTURE.

This is becoming a distraction from the race.
Obama is in a Catch 22. Trying to quell Wright’s freedom of speech would only give more ammunition to individuals that wish to put Obama in a negative light. After all, the comments Wright has made don’t gain credence from a single incident. Comments were made over years with close association and therefore (in my mind) suggestive of indoctrination that would have influenced Obama’s development (as a politician).
Consider what would happen if indeed Obama became President. Would that not invalidate much of the spewed vile that Wright et al have said? If we, the American people voted in a black man, if the (apparently purely wicked ) American government “allowed” it to happen, wouldn’t that in some way disavow the negativity that he has spoken? We as individuals work to validate our view of the world on a daily basis. He is validating his, verifying in his mind that America will never vote in a black man.
Sabbotage isn’t always consciously thought through. Keeping Obama “down” is to Wright’s advantage – gives him plenty of sermon (or speech) material for the future. Also, my guess is he isn’t one to admit he has ever been in error. No matter how heinous remarks may have been, admitting error would be tantamount to suggesting his sermons weren’t “led by the spirit”. He can’t say that as a minister without losing credibility.
I am not a Obama supporter but, if I were, I would be very depressed.
Hey Lori Im not saying anything about Obamas supporters,
Im saying I think Clinton has a better chance in November,
Obamas inexperience and judgement is hurting him, every time Rev Wright talks we get to know more about Obama, he know him for 20 years,
I never said I didnt like the man, Im sure he is a good guy, but he is running for the Presidency of the United States of America, and we need to know more about him.

I have never owned a slave nor did any of my Irish and German ancestors.
For starters, I have been a foster parent for two, two, sets of African American children. I personally prevented an African American man from killing the mother of his child and for all I know the child too. She named me the child’s Godfather as a reward. I will not boor the other bloggers with the rest of my resume.
The racism you speak of concluded long ago except for policies and practices instituted by the Democrats. The most recent example of that is the National Abortion Rights crowd.
The “Great Society?” War on Poverty? Shams foisted on African Americans and misguided European Americans for votes. Votes for power to retain the Congress and the White House. Some of these stupid people are my own siblings and family members. They still live under the myopic mistic of JFK, RFK, WJC, HRC, and BOH. If you want to live under the kind of racism offered by these charlatans be our guest.
Have some green tea, do something to channel your Karma in a positive direction, get on the internet and look up how the abortionists are targeting African Americans. Abortion is not a sophisticated weapon.
Lastly, bro, you would know peace loving if the Lord Almighty showed you it. I am not angry with you Sir. I just “will not tolerate rude behavior and ignorance” in people. School is open every day man.

Alisyn,
Why after all the yrs of striving for racial equality,do we have a church referred to as a “Black” Church…..With no intention to make this post racial or otherwise,it seems to me that if you strive for something on one hand and separate yourself from it at the same time on the other hand you end up back at square one….A bigger question, and only because I just don’t grasp (understand) as to why, when people like Rev Wright,Or Rev Sharpton, and Jessie Jackson, single every situation and circumstance out to be “BLACK”when it becomes controversial……Could it be because they make it that way. When Dr Dobson gets critisized for making controversial statements ,concerning politics,or otherwise, nobody defended it to be solely a White situation….My point being that it seems to me that as far as Mr Wright is concerned:he has been belaboring on things for so long that, pride has set in,and He won’t let go and let God….The same thing goes for Sharpton and Jackson, they have something to say about everything no matter how bad it is if its Black….
I fish with a Black friend, from time to time, and attend a Church from time to time where I have Black friends, and the Church isn’t recognized a Black or White Church, nor does the fishing trip become a black excoursion
Mr Obama for as smart as He appears to some and,as He sometimes claims to be,should have disassociated himself from this Pastor a long time ago…..If He wasn’t smart enough to put distance between Himself and situations like this…..How is He going to provide a secure country for its citizens
Obama is stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place — asking Wright to pipe down is an admission of sorts that he’s fully aware Wright is spewing (and has spewed) ego-driven, simple-minded, bigoted, racist and divisive commentary (which he is — the racist, ignorant, backwater hogwash about how people learn was laughable at best, and hideously racist at worst — can you imagine if a white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant minister who was head of an almost-all-white congregation had made the same comments?), and letting him continue is, well, letting him continue to steal center stage by spewing forth all sorts of self-promotional, racist, hateful gobbledy-gook.
Obama clearly doesn’t have the leadership qualities (aka “cajones”) it takes to be president of this country. He’s not running for Mr. Congeniality here. Time for the dude to man up and deal. If he can’t do that, he ought to just go away.
I am shocked that the media (all channels) are having such fun showing the Rev. Wright clips of his speeches at the NAACP and press dinner. What surprises me is that all networks are talking about his BIG ego, but yet they continue to feed it! Rev. Wright has the right to say whatever he wants to, but the media needs to carry ALL the stories about him as he doesn’t only have connection to Obama–Tell about the visit he made to the Bill Clinton whitehouse prayer breakfast, and since Farakan seems to be discussed quite often, tell about what a gracious introduction Gov. Rendell made for Farakan when he visited PA. Let’s get ALL of the stories out there so the people really know what is going on, and by the way–how about McCain’s special treatment as a POW–It is a political year so let’s tell all we know about everyone!
Good morning all, and I hope you feel lots better Alysin. The comments are interesting, as always. I would suggest that everything comes down to the “kitchen table”. Would you let your children play or associate with anyone whose parents were so full of hate? Would you choose to be socially active with persons where hate is such a large part of their code of conduct? Would you support a church that preached this kind of code of conduct? Are one’s good deeds not nullified by their hate speech? and so on…One is obliged to respect “the collar”. One is not, however, obliged to respect the man wearing the collar, a lesson we learned in very graphic moments with the conduct of priests who broke every law of man and God and were not forgiven, as they should not have been, for any amount of “good deeds” to the community they may have done. Through the ages evil men/women have done “good things” but, the pure evil far outstretched any attempt to balance the ledger. Food for thought….the junior senator from Illinois has some ’splainin to do to the American voter. So get “tuit” sir. Your associations are subject to review if you wish my vote. For those who won’t be persuaded for any reason, you have your one vote. For those who might be persuaded, there must be scrutiny for all the candidates. For those who want to condemn our process, I will contribute to your ticket to leave and try to find a better place to live. For those whose comments are intelligent and well thought out, whether I agree or not at any given moment, I congratulate you, and am proud to be a fellow citizen.
Norris…..Point and match. You are the example of my suggestion that some would not post in a thoughtful, informed, manner. You certainly are entitled to your opinion, however, your rights stop at that point, and unless you have a crystal ball, you do not know anything about fellow posters…..who they are, their ethnicity, their gender (unless they tell you), background, family, etc. So, your point is totally lost with the accusations that my thought process is not valid. Hummmm????
Mr. Wright is simply a joke. He uses parts of the Bible and ignores the rest. What kind of a man sits and listens to this junk year end and year out. The answer is simple — a man such as Obama. If hatred is preached to you constantly, if disloyalty to your country is preached to you for twenty years and if racism is preached to you for twenty years, guess what is ingrained in your heart and soul??? Do we really want a President that pledges his loyalty to Africa?? Do we really need a President and a first lady that hates America and everyone that is not black ???? Do we really want a President that has Mr. Wright for his mentor? Mr. Wright that hates all non-black Americans. Mr. Wright that believes in himself instead of God and his Holy Word !!! Mr. Wright that uses his American freedoms to express his hatred of our beloved America!! Some of you may but as for me and my family we do not need or want such a President. Mr. Obama you WILL NOT receive our votes.
Opions are something we are all entitled to.I think Rev. Wright has expressed his and we should let
it go at that. There are troubles in everyone’s past we would prefer they not be the topic of discussion. Mrs. Clinton for instance not reacting to her husbands infidelity while he was in office.
Should this be considered an act of kindness on her part or was it a thrust for greed and power ?
Is this the type of ethics and sound decision making we want as our next President ? I think not!!!!
He should say what he wants. However, Mr Obama should be much more vocal in distancing himself from him.
I have read all the comments posted. I am dismayed that a number of posters feel that Rev. Wright’s association with Barak Obama has nothing to do with the issue at hand of Obama becoming President of the United States when it has everything to do with it. Any politician can sway with the winds of public opinion and promise something for everyone’s proverbial plate. Political rhetoric is not where we really see the character of the man/woman seeking office. It is where they spend their time and who they spend it with out of choice rather than necessity that reveals who they really are and what they really believe in. Of any of our constitutional rights; the right to choose a religion is the most telling because it speaks of a persons core beliefs and attitudes towards him/herself, God, and humanity. If Mr. Obama now finds Rev. Wright’s comments offensive and out of touch I have to ask, “When did this epiphany occur?” It would seem that Mr. Obama only found offense when it appeared that Wright’s comments might distract the public from the persona Mr. Obama is trying to create. It is what a man does when he thinks no one is watching that truly identifies him. Problems with health care, the Iraq war, the economy, etc., etc. will pale in comparison to the depths to which this country will sink if it has at its helm a man who doesn’t truly love this country and ALL her people.

The right reverend Jeremiah Wright. What a guy. This guy can’t, or won’t shut up and it’s got me to wondering why. There was the initial storm and then it just sort of coasted along for a while and I think it would have drifted away all by itself, but “whoop, there it is” again. Now this guys been around for a long time and seen a lots of stuff. He has to know that he hurts Obama with moderate white voters. Why would he do that? Well, I wonder. Why were Sadat of Egypt and Rabin of Israel assassinated by their own countrymen? Well, this may be a stretch, but it’s because they were peacemakers and peace didn’t fit in with the plans of the war makers. Is it just possible that having a black president doesn’t fit in with Jeremiah Wright’s version of America? How can he preach about the exclusion of blacks from the government of America (which he asks God to condemn) if the President is black? Is it just possible that Jeremiah Wright is actually pulling for Obama to lose?
Spot on AAron! Ego and power ( or perceived power) are the roots of evil. Obama threatens Wright’s meal ticket.
Ali….apparently I am not the only one whose last nerve was hit by Norris. Good afternoon Will P…another excellent post as were your others. It is a privilege to call you fellow citizen. I hope you are feeling better Alysin…and are back “tuit” soon.
Alysin…. and to all the others as well….I am so relieved to know we are all voting! And I continue to wish flat tires on election day and many hours in the wheely chair (for those who have followed that saga:) ), for those that appear to have no ability to have an informed or civil thought. I know, that isn’t nice, but, oh well!!!!! These hateful posts do not help my smile lines at all!!!!!
:)
Alysin…this is great. I was preparing to take a look at my e-mail, while waiting for my post to show, and there it was. Too cool! You said you were going to work on that, and apparently you got right on it. Your faithful viewer! and still hoping you are feeling better.
Alysin…re: Bunny..I agree and am also amazed that these same people hold everyone else’s feet to the fire over every comment, association, paper written, endorsement, etc. One wonders for sure. Very nicely said.
Landis and Norris,
You are free to express the same ignorant rants as Wright. I spent more than 3 times the service time as Wright to afford that right to you. You’re welcome, BTW.
The sad part of this is that you fail to see that the Country you so hate is one of the few in the world that you are free to be as ignorant as you display.
Please feel free to visit North Korea and express those views about that Government while you are there.
Have a nice life.

Even if Mr. Obama denounces Wright and his hateful, racist, anti-American comments, would it be sincere or is he just being a POLITICIAN and saying what he has to say to get elected like Wright said Mr. Obama has done in the past?
It is my contention that Rev Wright is trying to subvert the Obama campaign on purpose and therefore make him loose the nomination. This will give Rev Wright the opening he wants so as to affirm his views of America as a country that will not elect a black man and is racially unjust. You all believe that Obama has thrown Rev Wright under the bus, but I think it is the other way around.
It doesn’t relly matter…the damage is done. Obama will never be able to distance himself far enough away from that FREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn’t matter whether or not Obama asks Rev. Wright to stop making such idiotic statements. Rev. Wright no longer cares what he’s doing to Obama’s campaign. Rev. Wright is now just out for his own publicity and is enjoying the limelight. I think he wants to join the ranks of Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. The media is assisting him by giving him so much attention and air time. He might also be seeking revenge on Obama for the what Obama has been saying about him now.
Wright realizes that if there is a black president then that who will he blame for all the wrongs of the black community. He will not be able to blame it on “rich white guys”, so wright does not want obama to win because he (wright) will lose the ability to talk about the administration.
I am not an obama supporter but let wright go, he is just destroying obama as a means to his own ends
I THINK JACKIE MASON SHOULD INTERVIEW WRIGHT .LOL
NOTICE I DID NOT CALL HIM REV. WRIGHT. I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANY REV. PREACH HATE AS THIS MAN HAS AND IS DOING. MY GUESS IS REV. MLK IS ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE . IF HE IS NOT CAREFULL HE WILL UNDO ALOT OF PROGRESS THIS BELOVED COUNTRY HAS OBTAINED!
Good morning Alysin. I just got up and I hope you are feeling better by now. Good morning Steve, Gretchen and Brian also. Are we all watching Hillary tonight on Bill O’Reilly? I am for sure. He got her to come on. Finally she realizes there are people out there she may have missed along the way? I wonder if the junior senator from Illinois will recognize this voting base? He said he would go on the show, so we’ll see if he does. His fear of a conversation with someone other than a “friendly” media person would have been greatly enhanced had he come on earlier, I think. To be afraid of FOX, was always a mystery to me, both for Hillary and himself. These next few months will be very interesting. I can’t wait to see how the DNC and their idiot leader, Dean, manges to disentangle this mess they have made while trying to “fix” the outcome of their voting base. This certainly has been a very interesting election cycle.
Geezzz…they just showed the sleeping 911 call. My goodness!
Alysin….I don’t think the pictures of Miss Cyrus will hurt her. I do think if someone doesn’t have a talk with her about future appropriate behavior, it might though. She is very young, and has had a lot of exposure, so this might have been expected? Her father seems to really care about her and is active in her life, so there is no appearance of neglect, just careless behavior. I suspect there will be other events that will be viewed with disapproval along the way. She, after all, still has her twenties to endure, a very difficult moment for everyone, and I would think much more so for a popular young star. I hope she grasps the importance of it all, and looks to former young stars who maneuvered through these moments, avoiding scandal, and staying on task.
Alysin….The Wright vs. Obama situation is definitely a conundrum..leaving us with our head tilted wondering what the heck is going on with these two. I, like so many others, am in a state of shock that his campaign has handled this so badly. He appears to not be comfortable in his own skin while addressing Wright and his comments, which leaves me to wonder about his ability to process really important issues that might come up IF he were to get the nod. It speaks to his inexperience and as his character is already in question for this voter, he probably has not helped his case with me. His hesitation to speak to these issues without flayling around for words, makes one think he is speaking to the polls, and not to his constituency. It is too bad that an opportunity for voters to view a really fresh new face, has turned out to be the same politician we have come to know so well.
I think that Rev Wright said it right, he says what he has to say as a pastor, and Obama has to say what he has to say as a Politican,
Obama knew enough not to let Wright stand with him when he announced that he was running for President, because he knew about his controversial sermons, now he denounced the pastor after 20 years of hearing him talk, Obama is trying to undermine the blue collar workers to get their votes, but the people in North Carolina and Indiana will not fall for this, plus theres other associates we need to talk about, like Ayers,Rezko,Farrakhan, Hamas, theres a lot to talk about.
Alisyn, I hope your feeling better.
Sal
Good morning Sal. Very well put, as always. I watch for your well thought out posts.
Good morning to you also, Monica. Well said, as always.
Good Morning Virginia, and thank you, and I always look for yours too.
Sal
As I scan comments, I must also say good morning to R.
I agree with you, however, I don’t think Wright was ever about anybody but himself, so it is no surprise that he continues to wax stupid…another reason to doubt Obama’s ability to discern and the question of character continues to be an issue. The junior senator from Illinois has destroyed his candidacy with his own words, and Wright is enjoying the moment of celebrity. For those who are decided and will not be persuaded, it’s a done deal. For those who are searching, he has given everyone reason for pause, and this would have happened anyway, regardless of Wright and his rantings. The DNC is very responsible for not vetting any candidate they are endorsing. Not that I would believe a word coming out of Dean’s mouth anyway, he has only confirmed my suspicions that he really is a complete idiot and was never the man for the job of president.
Check back later…….bye Alysin. Hope you feel better soon. lol
Of course he should be allowed to rant. Attempts to silence those you don’t agree with is a slick trick of the far left, but it’s wrong no matter how you look at it. As has been said so many times, already, he has the right to say as many stupid things as he likes. However, we need to keep a few things in mind:
1.) While his claim to represent the entire “Black Church” is arrogance beyond belief, there’s no doubt that a large number of people are buying his rants. After all, people love a conspiracy. These issues need to be brought out in the open and discussed rationally.
2.) Senator Obama’s inability to handle this rather minor flap should raise all sorts of flags about his overall ability to handle a real crisis. He gets a “F” on this one, as far as I’m concerned. He had a chance to “nip it in the bud” and didn’t.
3.) Of course the Senator’s just being as politician and telling us what we want to hear. How can there be any doubt of that? Watch for vengeful parishioners stepping forward as witnesses to his presence during similar sermons.
4.) Think of the toll this is taking on the Senator’s home life. Imagine having to explain to your children about a man you chose to baptize them. And, from all we’ve seen of Mrs. Obama, we can suspect that she’s seething at the Senator’s public dissavowals of the man who married them.
And to think Norris is allowed to vote, jeez what an idiot….
By all means let the Rev. keep talikng. The public has a right to know just how stupid he is.
Some one needs to ask The Rev how much is he being paid by the Clinton camp to keep up his antics…..
re chas, what part of my comment was ignorant ? it was FACT, Obama did lead the polls in NC at the time of my post. And what part expressed hate for this country ? Don’t include me in on your stupidity. I don’t hate this country, I just haven’t been brain-washed as your views show how you’ve been.
Landis,
What good does the winning of a battle if you lose the war? His lead and favorability is down across the nation. Wright HAS damaged him and your claims of NC lead doesn’t change that no matter how much you protest.
Brain washed? hardly, I just pay attention.
chas
i think that the delicates and super delicates had better wake up. come nov. the republican are going to go home with the election if they dont listen to the people. nobody wants someone in the white house that shares those types of views, and he does are he would have left long before he decided to run for president.
