J/K, weekends are more likely harder work than the week days for you. I hope you do get some nice relaxing down time however.

Seems the closer to the time the further the Democrats are getting from a real solution to their problem.

Let’s review how the Democrats go into this mess. During primary voting all delegates are sorted out to the candidates by percent of popular vote, (leaving out the so-called super delegates), which is nothing like how the Electoral College works in the General Election.

Never at a loss for a fix to something that isn’t broken the Democrats put themselves in this position. But wait, it gets better.

Sen. Nelson, Fla has this to say; “Nelson noted that “the solution is very elusive,” but that, “If nothing else, this election has provided further evidence that our system is broken.””

Sen. Bill Nelson wants, in part, to abolish the Electoral College. Wait, isn’t that how his party got onto the mess they are in? Thanks but no thanks Senator, if no Electoral College standard causes a mess in your primary we can be pretty sure that it would do worse in the General Election.

In a rare display of courage(?), Senator Obama, who first never heard a nasty word from Rev. Wright, then might have heard some, to I just didn’t hear the worse ones, would now leave the church if Wright hadn’t retired.

Does anyone actually buy this?

1. The sensitivity training is wrong on so many levels. The town is statistically 20% African American (AA), therefore why do the citizens need training. It suggests a lot of things - are AA in Eugene different from other AAs; are White Americans in Eugene so insensitive that they need training. Bottom line is this exacerbates the racial divide. It lends credence to the idea that there is a “race industry.”

2. Barack’s is a member of the Trinity Church of Christ. However, I do not know if it is affilitated with the Church of Christ (don’t think so), the Baptists, or African-Methodist-Episcipal (AME). The problem is Hussein is suggestive of Islam.

3. Hill v. Nancy has the makings for the biggest cat fight of all time. If Don King does not produce the fight, how about you and me co-producing?

I am a big Obama supporter. I think he would be a breath of fresh air for this country. I hope the assumption of him being Muslim doesn’t hurt bid to become President. For the record…I have nothing against Muslims. Too many people in this country associate terrorism to the Muslim religion. I’m Catholic and certainly respect the beliefs of other people.

However, the pastor that appeared on Fox last night (not sure what his name was), made remarks that amazed me. What type of religion accepts an indvidual like that to become a leader in their faith? Has that pastor ever heard of the 10 Commandments? Love thy neighbor as yourself!

There has been so much attention on Barack Obama and how he feels about Rev. Wright. It’s time we hear from Michelle Obama concerning Wright’s sermons and their influence in her life. I think America needs to hear her explanation since she aspires to the position of our First Lady. Would a true lady have sat through such angry, racially-charged profanity? And with her children?

Political correctness run amok again. It is similar to the concept that all Southerner’s are bigots and racists. I can assure you that if the local Mayor and City Council tried to pass such an ordnance here. There would be a special election held and a new group of Politicians in office. Because only two percent of the city is Afro-American they assume that the entire cities population has to undergo sensitivity training. I cannot wait until one of their citizens tries to give the Athletes directions to the only Soul Food restaurant in town. Many of us wonder what they put in the water in Oregon and Washington State…it must be a derivative of Mescaline or LSD. Only someone who is biased themselves would assume that they have to correct the behavior or beliefs or other people. The athletes comming to Oregon are the ones who should be schooled in minding their manners, then I am sure they will not have any promblems. This is panddering in its worst form.

I think that the Oregon statements are out there when will we all just get along with each other and quit blamming someone else for what we have or do not have?

Regarding Eugene, Oregon, and its “sensitivity” training: To assume that the black athletes (which will have come from many backgrounds) would be interested in “soul food” would be like directing any person of Asian ancestry to the local chinese restaurant. How offensive!

Whatever happened to “when in Rome”? I am from the South - if I were to take a trip to New York, should New York hold training sessions for New Yorkers to learn Southern customs to make me feel good- or should I learn the customs of New York?

Diversity and sensitivity training has been around for a long time now but it seems no matter
how “trained” people become, the line keeps moving and nothing is good enough.

It is more about the behavior and attitude of someone and not the color of their skin. For example - it doesn’t matter whether Rev. Wright is black or white- his outrageous, loud, offensive behavior and words are not acceptable in a civilized society.
Some people would claim he is being criticized because of the color of his skin. I believe it is about behaviors, words, and standards that he considers acceptable in his world as a person.

I’m convinced that Obama is an Islamic plant. Or at least sympathetic to their beliefs which still makes him dangerous.

I would like to see you, Steve, Gretchen, or Brian interview Mrs. Hillary Clinton. It would be fun to put her on the couch and ask her about the lies. Do you think this can happen?

With the need for jobs, the need for renewable energy, and the need to reduce our dependance on foreign oil why are we not building Hydro-Electric Dams in this Great Nation?

Would this not be at least an small but real effort in creating jobs, clean renewable energy, not to mention bosting the sale of hybrid cars (as an abundance of electric energy would be available). Frankly, if I were GM I would build these facilities myself, and give all of their Hybrid Car Buyers a special rate on the cost of the electricity for the people who live in the areas serviced by the Dams.

I think as far as training employees to make sure African-American Olympic athletes feel welcome and comfortable this summer… business is about knowing your clients and so that you can take care for them.

I was not up for this segment on Eugene… I do believe that racisim will always be with us in one form or another….when I pick up my local newspaper …the majority of violent crimes are usually committed by African Americans or people of Hispanic descent…if you happen to be a person who lives in an area that is dominated by this type of segment then you can not help but be leary when one “sees” someone of color that they don’t know approaching them on the street…many young blacks do not have fathers or good role models in the home and many also use the race card as a means of entitlement to something they have not earned….I also believe that there is plenty of reverse racism to go around…..

What about parents who teach their children Ultimate Fighting? People wanted to take children away from that couple who prayed, but lost their child. What will they say when some 6 year old is injured or killed in a “blood sport”?

The story about Eugene, Oregon just blows my mind! Hasn’t everyone figured out that we are ALL human beings and there is NO need to treat anyone different just because someone has a skin color different that yours?? I just have to shake my head on this one…..I just don’t get it. I treat everyone the same …. with respect, courtesy and kindness. If I am not treated in the same manner, I just chalk it up to their personality….NOT their skin color.

The candidates we have all have issues. What do we really have to choose from? Obama is backed by a pastore, who seems to have alot of hate, (by the way as a Christian aren’t you suppose to love thy enemy). Obama says he won’t break his ties with him. Hillary seems to have shell shock and can’t piece together all her flashbacks, and McCain can’t determine what is to happen for the next 100 years. So who do we have to pick from? This is going to be the hardest election year that I can remember. None of them speak about the issues. I am really disappointed in our political officials that all they can do is act like a bunch of bullies who can’t grow up and talk about the facts. What kind of example are they for the next generation. I don’t find it to be a positive one. I also think other countries look at this and think we are a country who really doesn’t have it all together.

I always thought that there was a separation of state and religion. However, during elections it does not seem to be applied. — I know, I know….religion determines the character of a person.

Obama is Christian. He is just going to the wrong church with pastors who preach equality with a sense of anger rather than love.

If you watch on TV, the sermons at other Christian churches, the pastors also get into a trance and talk and talk. Most of the times they preach how Jesus will punish and are prompt to ask for money.

The Catholic Christian is probably the most stable on preaching but the sermons could be taken as boring. Only the priest talks and everybody else listens. There is no interaction.

I would have liked to attend four different types of churches for Easter to see how the same message was transmitted, but in complete different ways.

– Note: what about the Clinton’s (ex) pastor found guilty of child molestation of a 7-year girl? Does his doing affect who the Clinton’s are?

All this race controversy is eye-opening for many Americans. It shows who are the REAL racists in our country. The statement, “typical white person”, by Obama makes me realize that if I said that, I would be labeled a racist if the color was changed in this statement. Barack Obama’s religion? I can’t claim to know what Barack really believes but it’s scary that he belonged (belongs) to such a church for such a long time. It is worrisome to me that some lessor minded church members may actually be brainwashed this pastor!
