He has said his mother was "the dominant figure in [his] formative years. . .” then why do we not see where she came from, her roots. News programs have gone to Kenya where his father was from and spoken to his grandmother there, yet there is little media coverage about the woman who raised him and that part of his family. Is it so important for America to see him as a black man, not a interracial man that he hides half of himself? Why does Obama hide his mother’s family? When I was born, my mother gave me the name of James Philip Wills after my two grandfathers. All my life I was told that my grandfather's name was spelled Philip with one "L" until I found his birth and death certificates one day which I discovered he had spelled his name wrong all his life. So, frustrated that my mom mis-spelled my name, I decided to check into things at the courthouse which I had never had a copy of my original birth certificate. I requested my birth certificate and low and behold my middle name was spelled Phillip with 2-Ls. So, after 40-years of living with it as Philip one L I wonder should I change it now? What's in an L?
