Open Blog Friday

Here’s your opportunity to spout off!  What’s on your mind today?  What burning issue do you want bounce off the brilliant brains behind In the Greenroom?  Here’s some food for thought (I love food…and thoughts):

– Will the virtual fence along Mexico-Arizona border work?

– fallout from New York Times-John McCain story?

– fallout from shot-down spy satellite?

– Who will win the Oscar Awards Sunday night?

And one big P.S. — Keep the morning greetings and your phone numbers coming!!  We’ve loved the ones from Ronnie and Marissa this week.  Much more to come…

Hey Alisyn,

Virtual Fence? That’ll last about 3 days before before it gets destroyed. That’s like building a real fence, but telling them……here’s the gate. Use it! How much are we paying for this?

Here’s another question??? Wasn’t the space shuttle supposed to be used to repair broken satallites?
Why didn’t we grab it when we were up there last week? Let’s blow it up instead…it’s only another billion dollars!

Can you tell I’m in a good mood this morning? You look amazing as always!!!!!!

Hey Pat,
I think the shuttle Atlantis was bringing a science lab to the space station and doing some minor repair work to it. And, yes, I am a rocket scientist.

Alisyn…love the show keep up the good work! In regards to the virtual fence, it seems like we are going to spend millions of dollars just to know that illegals are crossing the border. Which we already know is happening and we can’t control it now. Seems like a big waste of money. I think it’s interesting that we have the technology to shoot down a satellite but still can’t find Bin Laden??

Comment by Robert Sallada

Love the show.
1 the New York Times will never apologize even though they have no proof. It goes back to the days of yellow journalism of the late 1800″s.
2 Virtual fence is a good idea but still will not stop the flood of illegals, will there be some way to protect virtual fence from sabatoge by illegals and the people who bring them across.
3. The only fallout from the spy satelite is because what people once called Reagans Fantasy is now reality and we have a way to protect our country they ones who don’t like us can’t figure a way around at this time. Could lead to some interesting negotiations with other countries if we have one less thing to fear.
4 Could care less about the oscars.
5 love the show and all of the different people who help host it. That is the reason I have watched fox and Foxand friends for years. Brian is an excellent roll model to my children. I can point to him and tell them see even if you can’t do anything else in life don’t depair even he got a job.

Read the NY Times to see what is not fit to print. I’m no real fan of J. McCain, but I certainly think he would make a better President than either B. O’Bama or H. Rodham Clinton. Being a senior citizen, I like the idea of National health care for all US citizens, but I realize it would not be practical. I think we should focus on the Insurance companies and the unfair rates they charge and the formula they use to gouge us. All with the backing of the US Government. Deport illegals when they are found. Make those who hire them pay all expenses.

Comment by samuel

I noticed that yesterday Monica Crowley posed the question that I have asked several times, that being, what does the word “change” mean from the presidential candidates? Do we not remember that Bill Clinton used the words “I have a plan” and we still do not know what that “plan” was???? The voter should know that whatever the candidate promises, the president cannot begin to fulfill all the endless promises that are made during the campaign.

While I dislike the Times, I am not about to vote for McCain just because the Times has decided to treat him like an everyday run of the mill Republican.

While the article is unfair, and is nothing more rumor on top of innuendo, it doesn’t change the fact that John McCain has run around with his middle-finger in the air towards his own party for a very long time.

As other people have pointed out that McCain is a better alternative than either Obama or Clinton; that’s a bit like saying that I would rather vote for Hitler because it’s better than voting for Satan himself. He is an unacceptable choice, who happens to be better than the other two suicidal choices.

The NYT article only goes to prove that the “Old Gray Lady” is as two faced as any other liberal. First they endorse John McCain, then stab him in the back with a story that is based on school-hallway rumor.

Hey guys-a few weeks back Cavuto had Larry Flynt on his program and Flynt said he had the dirt on a GOP canidate. Was he speaking of McCain? Someone needs to follow the money trail, Flynt said he offered $1 million dollars to anyone who had the dirt-would that include the reporters at the New York Times? This is worth following up on!

I have to comment on the mother charged with neglect for leaving her boys. It is indeed appropriate that she was charged with neglect. There are alternatives to walking out on your boys when you need a break. My father died when I was six years old. My mother raised me and my four brothers from that time alone never remarrying. I am certain there were times she wanted to pull out her hair, but she never abandoned us even for a brief period of time. She accepted her responsibility and we lived through the tough times and the great times together.

For the week, the U S Navy is the big winner. Well done. Let the Chinese and Russians get all bent out of shape. They will get over it. It is not shameful to be the best there is, and that’s us !!

John McCain is having a dose of Clinton politics thrown at him. All this was gone over by the Senate Ethics COmmittwee years ago with nothing found to support their ‘claim’. When will we learn to distrust the ‘anomyous sources’ and the ‘on condition of anonymity’ informers ? Most of the time, they are forwarding an agenda, not actually providing a truthful statement.

The NYT is as always behind the curve. Just more sleaze, and they don’t have the class to admit how far they have fallen.

Clinton, well, what can you say ? I am so tired of her shrill voice yelling at me how hard we have it and bad off we are. I am tired of her yelling at me how she has ‘experience’. Doing what, exactly ? Why no one questions her on that is a mystery.

Obama at least is upbeat and positive in his outlook. Socialist in his ideas, but positive, nonetheless. Sacry to really understand what he wants to turn my country into (just like Shillary).

Huckabee, he should put his ego away and go to the corner.

And how about the president getting down in Africa ? I think it shows the character of the man that he is the worlds’ only superpower leader, and he can still ‘let his hair down’, even if only for a minute or two. If I had his job, I would need to do that sometimes, too. God Bless George Bush !

Have a wonderful weekend .

Six and half years after 9/11 and our borders are as easily crossed as ever. This attempt at a tiny stretch of a virtual fence is little more than a joke. It is an election year stunt so McCain and Bush can say something is being done when McCain’s immigration problem is raised by the Conservatives in the party.
If someone broke into one’s home, killed a family member and broke stuff would it be reasonable to leave the backdoor to the home unlocked for 6 yrs after that? Then when finally doing something it is a ‘virtual’ lock?
They say it is too expensive to secure the borders. We have gone to war in two different countries, in Afghanistan because of 9/11 and in Iraq supposedly to keep 9/11 from happening again, and spent countless billions of dollars in those countries in the war effort and then in rebuilding those countries. Is it asking too much that the gov’t do it’s job of securing this country? Can we take the crossing of our own national borders as seriously as we do the crossings of the Iraqi borders?
There have been terror suspects caught crossing the US/Mexican border. We have had many reports of terror groups paying drug smugglers and coyotes to bring terrorists across the border. Must we wait until terrorist come across the border and successfully pull off a major terrorist act before the gov’t takes the border seriously?
What of the Mexican military and paramilitary groups that work for the drug lords that cross into the US and even get into gun battles with the Border patrol and locals? Are they not enough of a threat that the gov’t and this administration can do their sworn oaths to uphold the Constitution?
Not only is the lack of a secure border a national security issue but it is a humanitarian issue for the people being exploited by the gangs and coyotes. Where is the outrage over the illegal immigrants that die on the crossing or the women and children that are raped by the coyotes? Where are the reports of the rape trees? If the border was secure then it would keep the coyotes from being able to exploit, kill and rape these people.

Comment by Eric Wilson

A more economical virtual fence would be free roaming packs of wild dogs. I have seen these ‘herds’ over in Iraq and know it would eliminate foot traffic on our border. On a serious note though, both Barrack and Hillary were pandering to the latino voters last night. It’s quite concerning to see them shelve American security to compete for support from this voting bloc.

For Pat in Minnesota,

It is my understanding that the shuttle was not used to recover the defective satellite because that 1) the satellite was not in an orbit that the shuttle could access it. The satellite never reached the orbit it was designed for. It was much lower than the shuttle “flies”. 2) Satellites have to be designed with the shuttle’s payload bay in mind for them to fit in it. This satellite was launched via a rocket, not the shuttle so it most likely would not have fit.
I can’t vouch that those reasons are completely accurate but that is what I understood as the reasons the shuttle wasn’t used.

The actor in the Comfort Inn commercial that you are talking about is Scott Lawrence.

While Lawrence has been in many things I recognized him from “JAG” on which he played “Cmdr. Sturgis Turner” for several of the last few seasons.

I agree, he probably would make a good actor to play Obama. I hear SNL is auditioning for comic actors to play Obama. Wonder if Lawrence can do that kind of comedy.

Bus drivers, teachers and schools are not to blame for all of the troubles students cause or face today. Take a look in the mirror families and take control. Parents still have a right and responsibility to raise their children. Teach them to be obedient and respectful and maybe even to love others as themselves.

Why are so many republicans just taking this on the chin that the Bush presidency was a flop? The anxiety I feel (often referred to by pols as “The American people”) is a result of all of the sample items listed.

1. The “virtual fence” will be as effective as some well known virus and spyware protection programs. The porous border is undermining our soverignty.

2. The NYT launched this story to tie McCain to the myriad Republican scandals. The voters will not differentiate between him and the dopes that threw away their integrity and the opportunity to have a 60 year reign in the country like the Dems had beginning with FDR.

3. I want to know why in the hell is the US going to be informing the Chinese and the Russians about our recent success with the ballistic missile defense. Did not the Clintons already provide the Chinese with enough help? Is it not ironic that the place where gunpowder was invented could not produce out the telemetry and inertial guidance software programs to accomplish the same.

4. I feel nothing but revulsion for most of Hollywood. There are exceptions, e.g. Patricia Heaton.

Comment by Marissa

Open Blog, huh?

Virtual fence — good idea, but so much depends on our ability to execute procedures. We don’t necessarily have a good track record when implementing “new” programs – but it gets better after the “catastrophe.”

NYT fallout — I hope so…and the fallout should be on the NYT’s!

Satellite fallout — Anything hit the ground yet? China and Russia are just posturing for political leverage…I don’t think we overstepped our bounds.

Oscars — I am so behind with current movies — I watched the Little Miss Sunshine dvd just a couple of weeks ago. I may check in on the red carpet though!

Frustrated Florida Mom — She was wrong to “abandon” her kids, but they are teenagers and I don’t think they were at any significant risk. She is not the type of person that I think our police force should be worried about and spending our tax dollars protecting us from.

Frustrated Bus Driver — Poor thing — she felt completely out of options. Inadequate training, if you ask me. My suggestion? Try to drive back to the school. If they are attacking you as you drive, pull over, jump out of the bus, and lock the kids in. Call the school and your boss, and request assistance. Maybe call the police. Ban the troublemakers from the bus for the rest of the year.

Now, time to get back to work…

Theresa in Texas And Alisyn (I can’t say no to Alisyn, especially when she says please)

The final report on the cause of the Minneapolis bridge collapse won’t be released for several more months. The NTSB routinely takes a year or longer to release a final report.
Preliminary findings were released last month. Those findings indicate that there was a serious design flaw in the bridge orignally. Undersized gussets were used to fasten the steel beams together. The report said the gussets were deficent from as early as the original blue prints. The gussets were insiffecent for even the safety standards in the ’60s, for when the bridge was built.
Repairs and renovations to the bridge over time only put the gussets under further stress.
The report did say that they did not believe any other bridges in the country suffered from the same problems that caused the collapse in Minneapolis.

If a virtual fence is so good for our border then why does the White House have a real fence around it?
Why do all secure gov’t buildings and faciluities have real fences and barriers around them?
Could it be the gov’t takes their own safety and security seriously but not the border?
Next time you go to the bank ask them if they have a real safe they lock the money up in at night or if it is just a ‘virtual’ safe with no real barrier. We all know the answer to that question.

2 We need to stop the flood of illegals. Build a fence and get it secure. How long have we had a democratic controlled congress and all they want to do is blame President Bush. What have they done to secure this county?
3. The US Navy does it again. They have proved we are the best Navy in the world. Oh but don’t tell the city of Berkley Ca. They may kick the Navy out too!!!!

I was thinking about groups like NOW and the NAACP and their reaction to a women and a black man both in contention for the Presidency of the most powerful nation in the world. Both groups are urging their membership to support “their” candidate for president and I think the profoundness of this led to Mrs. Obama’s emotional comments of being proud of our country “for the first time”.

This same fervor may have also led to Oprah’s being criticized for supporting Obama rather than Hillary. She betrayed all women by her action. Of course if she had supported Hillary rather than Obama she would have been unfaithful her to her race. The very Catch-22 that Oprah finds herself in is at the heart of my thoughts.

In a free society where we can celebrate the fact that a women and black are both running for president, why can’t we also celebrate the right of any American; white, black, hispanic, male or female, to support and vote for any candidate of their choosing. Isn’t it the same constitution that grants the right for a diverse candidate pool for president that also grants the right for a diverse electorate to support any candidate that they wish? We are first Americans before we are any race or gender.

Hillary’s line “Change you can Xerox”. If one reads Xerox as a proper name, rather than a verb, her comment sounds much like the way that Yoda spoke in the Star War films.
Maybe Hillary was encouraging the Xerox company to change. Hillary does seem to want corporations to act differently. Then when Xerox makes changes that Hillary likes who better than them to help other companies to COPY the changes too?
Hillary was speaking “Yoda” to show that she is a capable and wise leader, or to just win over the Star Wars fans. At this point she needs every vote she can get.

Good answers Mike to the reason the shuttle didn’t save the satellite. I was going to reply myself but thought maybe I’d email the link to my husband, who is an engineer on the lunch pads at KSC, so he chould answer that one. The space center workers would have got a HUGE laugh out of that blog. Wasn’t the failed satellite falling back to earth at an incredible rate of speed and wouldn’t that have made it impossible to “catch” without an enormous risk which may have caused a crash in space costing LIVES and even more money than the cost of the missle launched?

BTW, would you believe I ran into someone who thought the shuttle went to the moon??? People need to read more OR watch FOX News.

I completely agree with that sexy Judge Napolitano, the mother of those 4 teenage sons is, indeed, rightly charged with neglect. As a single parent of a 20 yr. old male, I raised my son alone from the time he was five years old and taught him to respect me, others, and himself. He was raised in a house of faith and attended church and Sunday School each week. He was brought up with and to know manners, discipline, respect, integrity, unselfish love, and responsibility. These teenagers didn’t just now start behaving inappropriately. As a parent you are charged with the responsibility, daunting as it may be, to put the best interests of your child first and foremost. Sometimes that means disciplining them when it is not the popular thing to do. My son is now a college sophmore, attending a school with high academic recognition on just short of a full scholarship.

First of all: Go Navy!! Go Navy!! Go Navy!! Go Navy!! (Picture me dancing here.) Our military rocks!! I’m generally an Air Force person (Son and husband are Air National Guard.); but we need to give it up to our brothers on the high seas. What a take down!!! Loved it!! Loved it!! Loved it!!

Second: As a mother of 4 sons, I can certainly understand the frustration of dealing with testosterone-driven children in men’s bodies. But, Sister, you brought them into this world and it’s your responsibility to be in charge of them until they reach maturity (or age 18, whichever comes first). If you can’t handle them yourselves and there’s no father there to help, find a pastor, a counselor, a teacher, a policeman, Boys’ Club, find somebody to help you out. They didn’t just wake up as unruly teenagers. Somewhere along the way they were not properly disciplined or given the guidance all kids need. Parents have to be parents from day One!

This morning you asked about the mom that went on strike because she could not control her boys. Unfortunatley it’s too late….she lost control a long time ago. If children are not taught from birth about respect and getting along with others there is no way (apart from divine intervention) to impart those things in the INSANE teen years. I have a 19 year old boy and a 17 year old daughter. They were always taught what was acceptable and non acceptable ways of communication with adults. (yes mam and no mam were not optional) They also were not allowed to go out and play with their friends if they could not get along with each other. We ALWAYS inforced that rule. We made dinner together every night a priority so that the lines of communication were open from an early age. My husband was in the military and gone ALOT, but dinner and discipline was there even when daddy wasn’t. Kids need to be TAUGHT how to be functional members of society. Even with everything we tried to do right our kids are STILL mouthy and difficult to live with at times. I feel sorry for the mom, but I hate to sound mean but she has made her bed…and even though after watching the video on the FOX site I see what kind of hoodlums she is leaving with…I feel sorry for these boys. How will they ever amount to anything when they have not been taught by their parents how to behave?

Teen boys, you have to make them believe that they are fearful of you. But being a single mom it doesn’t help with 4 boys. They need male bonding and role models. Being a mom of teen boys (I have 2 right now) you have to constantly do psychology on them, and sneak on them all the time. That is the only way they can believe you are all powerful.

Is it DirectTV or is it you guys? I promise that I will watch Fox News Channel even more if you go HD. As a point of interest, I get Fox Business in HD but they are simply not as entertaining as FNC.

Allison & All the others on Panel on Fox&Friends:
First of all between Obama & Hillary, neither are woth the powder to blow hell up with. Especially, Hillary, a real piece of work. Secondly, is Hillary a Gay? She is always wearing pants. Is this a man thing with her? Thirdly, not that you don’t, but Gretchen has some nice looking legs.

Since its open blog friday…I’d like to express how surprised I am that nobody is really tallking about the 38 Duke players that are suing the University….I think it is totally justifiable , but WOW…38 players…thats nuts….I think this should get more coverage because this school totally messed with these players lives…a lifetime experience that they will never get back……

The virtual fence, is somewhat of a silly idea… By the time they get the signal somethings went through, it will be gone…

If you want my phone number email me… I’d be happy to pass it on. I’m an over the road truck driver, I listen every day.

Is it me, or this year’s Oscar nominations are just weak? All the movies are either really depressing or way to serious.

Doocy and Kilmeade are still my favorites.

Laurie Dhue, Megyn Kendall, and Martha McCallum are incredibly beautiful women.

Alan Colmes is annoying.

Neil Cavuto is a genius at balance and substance.

Like Greta, but Joe Tacopina is a sh_t. She gives him too much credibility.

I love the Judge!

Paige, Greg, and Kelly are terrific together.

Hi Alisyn,

What is with ALL of these, I presume, GUYS? Scattered throughout all of the blogs are things written like, “Date me?, I LOVE you, Gretchen has great legs, “Our Eyes, Your Thighs”, Alisyn is Sexy, Gretchen is Sexy, Brian is Sexy, sexual innuendos on the word “Fox”, “I roll over in the morning and the first thing I see is you, etc, etc. Enough already! Get yourself a drool bucket and hang it off your chin for cryin’ out loud.

What I admire in the Fox Ladies (please ADD Catherine Herridge and Megyn Kelly to the list) besides their obvious charm, personality, and “easy on the eyes” figures, is their performance as professionals in journalism. All that intellect, coupled with charm, personality and good looks…hold me back!

Their reports, segments, and articles are first rate and delivered with appropriate emotion and conviction. Being beautiful while doing it is just icing on the cake…probably “Devil’s Food”, if you ask me..

Good Evening Alisyn,

What is on my mind is the lack of security of the US Embassy in Belgrade. I simply do not understand how the State Department could allow for such poor security (and poor choice of location!) so that some rioters could easily break into the Embassy and set it on fire?! I remember how well the former US Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, was guarded in 2005 – when I went there to get my visa. They had a checkpoint, roadblocks, barbed wire while Swiss Army soldiers and MPs patrolled the whole area outside the Embassy. Such security precautions in a place like Switzerland while no protection in a place like Serbia is mind-boggling to me!

As a legal alien who is still in the system and paying all the fees I am asked to, I have quite a different view towards immigration than people might expect. In my opinion, a virtual fence in itself is a joke and only a thick, tall cement wall along with other fortifications, more USBP officers and more equipment will do the trick (I do remember when several years ago, Pat Buchanan proposed to build such a wall and how the public reacted; I bet many people would prefer to do it his way now). Also, it would help to enforce the law and grant neither amnesty nor sanctuary for illegal aliens. After all, they are ILLEGAL and therefore breaking the laws! I wonder what part of “ILLEGAL alien” all the liberals do not understand?! If breaking the law should be rewarded then what is the point in having a justice system? Furthermore, proposing amnesty for illegal aliens while increasing the fees for legal aliens is simply insane and greatly unfair to those who choose to do it the legal way! How is it possible for illegal aliens to get a drivers license? HELLO??

Several years ago, I would have liked to see Senator McCain become President but I think he is a bit too old now – the meaning “most powerful man in the world” just looses its touch when it is applied to a man of that age. Him jumping in bed with ultra-liberals (worst of all, Kennedy, yikes!) for the sake of bi-partisanship, I guess, rather made me think less of the man. The NY Times smearing campaign will probably not seriously impact his political ambitions and chances – assuming these allegations are untrue. I’m not surprised by this attack of the liberal newspaper which regularly succeeds in not simply disappointing but disgusting me.

Why would anyone vote for a US Senator who uses her lying and cheating husband for the “benefit” (??) of her campaign? She can’t have that much character or she would have kicked him out for good a long time ago! And yet people think she would be fit to make the right decisions? She even said it herself that her husband “would make a great ambassador” – so she can send him as far away from Washington as possible, I guess! What is that? Do people not pick up on that?

Interestingly, another US Senator who hasn’t even finished his first term yet (and whose voting record is rather poor) already knows how to run this country and how to fix the system that is “broken” and needs “change”. I just wonder how he intends to finance all his “ideas” or maybe I just don’t want to know…

Who will win the Oscar? Frankly, I just don’t care. I’m not part of the celeBRATy-addicted-population.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Allison,

Why is Fox for Obama and CNN, MSN?????NBC ABC CBS …..and EFG?? Why does Fox give him so much attention…. Is this the Kennedy machine?? vs the Clinton machine?? What is going on in this country…it is as if Obama is some kind of Idol??? To me it is scary…His worshipors are willing to follow a man who has a resume of a retail manager … applying for the CEO’s job??? Hilliary is far far far more qualified to lead our country! Certainly the democratic voters have been fooled by the hot air of this door to door sales man!!! It appears to me he may not be a puppet for the lobbiest but he will be for the Kennedy’s and the super liberal hollywood agenda! Socialism and humanism and the welfare state…And the New York Times! Let me ask, does Mr. Obama have any skelitons in his closet or is he the perfect man??? .. I am still trying to figure out HOW John McCain had an affair at 60 what? I would be more concerned about a man in his 40’s…So like the New York Times to start their trash…I wonder who paid for that story to be printed!

Hello Alisyn,

Just a quick note from a little ol town in Iowa. I was very tickled to see that Fort Madison and Burlington made it on to the national news. The story about the security guard and CatfishBend Casino has been a thorn in alot of the peoples sides in our communities. The story of how the employees learned that the Casino boat was being closed and over the possiblity of over 200 people being laid off right before christmas was a blow to a community that is already struggling. The employees found out that they were going to lose their jobs by reading it in the newspaper and having the patrons of the Casino express their regret that the boat was not going to be kept running. Then another blow came when recently hired card dealers in the land based Casino in Burlington were being laid off too right before Christmas (originally told as of December 22nd they would not have a job). Talk about a Christmas present. Now the casino which was supposed to put soooo much life back into our community is so empty as times you could wander around and not see another soul for at least a half an hour.

Virtual Fence ?? That’s like leaving your Back Door Unlocked and mounting a Camera on the Back Porch. By the Time the Cops arrive from 23 Miles away, the Crooks have Looted your House and left. What are they going to do ? Put up a sign that says “Smile, You’re on Homeland Insecurity Camera”. Please Leave your name and address so we can Find you. If you’re a Terrorist, please Keep out !

Why don’t we have Virtual Security at the Airports ??

Comment by Tim in Virginia

The election has become clear to me, and not because of the NYT hit job. Apparently, Hillary is out of it. This election boils down to three issues for me.

1. The war on terror.

Obama has publically stated that he would negotiate with the terrorists. We are talking about a group of fanatics that KILLED over 3000 of our fellow citizens. McCain definitely will not negotiate with them.

2. The Military

Obama, by his remarks, will not be an advocate of a strong military. This country has been safe and secure since the War of 1812 because of a strong military. I do not think it is in our best interest to weaken the military. McCain will not allow that to happen.

3. The VA

Obama, being more Liberal than Hillary, will open the VA to everyone as part of a plan for a national health policy, just like Hillary said she would. The vets that rely on this institution will be summarily cast out on the street. I know that Joh McCain will not allow this to happen. As a matter of fact, I’m hoping he will strengthen it, considering he had the benefit of it on his return from Nam.

Now this is just my stance. All you others will have to decide where yours is. As for me, I know life will become A LOT MORE MISERABLE UNDER OBAMA.
I’m voting for McCain.

Alisyn can you answer some questions for me.
I dont understand why we are not building a wall twenty feet high and twent feet deep, the funds are there, think how many jobs that would create, what are they waiting for, osuma to walk across the border.
The Bush administration has done a great job ,but not with the border,
and obama has been there for three years, was he there to vote on the war? and how about his religion, his name is Barack Hussein Obama, theres to many questions he needs to answer and no one is asking, what are they afraid of.
The Republicans wont be afraid to say any thing, the democratics are destroying there own party how could they back a man that has nothing to go on, what could he have done in three years. Clinton has a better chance then obama,
McCain will be in the white house,I hope and pray.

In the history of Mr Gibson’s, winners and losers segment. How many times has Hillary and Obama and McCain and Huckabee, been on either side?

I’m sure being the great Journalist that he is, it will be pretty much split down the middle, don’t ya think?

Did The NY Times apologize for the last incident? The General Petraeus ad? There have been so many calls of “foul” on them I can’t keep count at this point. If there is an apology it will be buried, I’m sure.

Virtual Fence? I don’t see the deterrent here, by the time anyone gets to where they were, won’t they be gone? Why not build a physical wall and make it physically difficult for illegals to cross? Or why not both? And WHY are politicians dragging their feet on this issue?

The fallout from our spy satellite seems minimal, other than the issue with the debris… Even if China is protesting, they shot theirs down with no warning to anyone…

Another question….while the candidates are out campaigning (for up to 2 years before the election!), who is doing their “day job” back in their own state and at the Capital? How often are they voting on important issues? Their job is to be representing those in their own states, not campainging….shouldn’t they be doing that on their own time (or even taking a leave of absence)? Are they collecting paychecks for the time they’re out campaigning? Just curious…..

Virtual fence ls a farce. A 25 ft. deep minefield would solve the problem.

Congress pass a bill to build and fence. Now they are going to change a fence to virtual fence? Horse hockey pucks on Conngress and the Senate. They took and oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Article 2 Section 8 states that it is Congress will defend us from invasion. 20 million American are not in Iraq but 20 million Mexicans are in the United States. Wake up you sleepy headed boy in Congress and do you job that you took and oath for. Can we steal all of congress’s SUVs; park them on the border and put bombs in them for a fence? That would be the same as a virtual fence.

Andy

Comment by Glen

A minefield would be much more effective, and cheaper, than the stupid virtual fence. What we need is the WILL to bring the border under control.

Chelsea stuck a fork in Hillary’s campaign when she refused to grant an interview to that 9 year old reporter. Her rude snobbish attitude struck a nerve in Americans everywhere. If you’re in someone’s campaign party, you should be in it all the way not just when it suits you.

Alisyn, I have been tasked with working on the fence along the U.S.-Mexico boarder. It is my opinion that it will work, I mean how can it not work. There was nothing more then a barbed wire fence before we got there. Now there is a 15 foot high, concrete steel bollard fence. The only access points to the U.S. are at previous points of entry. This new fence is leaps and bounds above what was there. It will work, we will not faulter and we will prevail.

I hear so many people talking about the fact that we may have a women in the office for the first time or an African American in office for the first time and to be honest I think people are blinded by this! I have asked people why they would like to see them in office and the best reason they could come up with was that they were either a women or african american. I fear there are many people voting for the wrong reasons. I would like to Kill 2 birds with one stone, If Condoleezza Rice would have ran, not only is she a African American women but she has reaL experance! I honestly beleave she could really be a great leader and someone that so many could look up too!…Maybe next time!!

Received an email recently with this suggestion for the fence………

Dig a moat all along the Tex-Mex border…..
Use dirt to fill in low areas in Louisiana to prevent future flooding…..
Move alligator over population in Florida to fill moat…..

Problem solved…..win/win for all North of the border……

Alyson, I wander what the Clintons are thinking about the dominate liberal media now. Do you think they are saying, now I know what it feels like to be a republican. She spent her life working for the presidency and had it taken away by a media created Obama. I am sure they will both write books later ,we will see if they bring it up.

I find it interesting that Obama is getting so much of the female vote over Hillary. My advice to Hillary would be to get a new fashion consultant. I would love to see her on TLC’s “What Not To Wear.” I think she needs to work her feminine side, not hide it with a man’s suit (especially in bumble bee yellow). This is not meant to be a Hillary rip. This is honest, constructive criticism. Women today can be powerful, but do it with style! She would have a better chance getting the female vote if she started acting like one (or at least looked like one).
Just a thought…

We have the perfect solution to any work shortage if we deport illegals .
THE PRISONS are full of potential workers. It would solve the “worker shortage” , those non-violent prisoners could be hired by the ag people, they would receive same pay that a regular worker would, BUT , take one third of their pay and give back to the prison for their upkeep whle in prison, One -third would go to help support the families they left and probley on governement assistance and the other one-third go into a savings account to be given to them when they are let out to help them get a new start in life. This solves a lot of problems, gives the prisoners work and some of them self estem.
