We’re experimenting
Did any of you guys notice a change at 6am this morning? On this political primary week, we’re trying out a different look and using a different part of our set. I think it’s called “the desk.” What did you think?
Wednesday Update – I hear you loud and clear! Be gone desk! Or at least be used more sparingly. Thanks for weighing in!
This moring in the Greenroom I’m reunited with my old friends The Harlem Globetrotters. You may recall a months they trained me to use some of their trademark tricks in a real basketball game in which I proceeded to humilate myself. I think they learned that I’m better at breakfast than basketball, so this morning that’s what we focused on.

Good morning Alisyn, I guess I failed to notice the new set so I cannot comment on that. As far as the Globetrotters go, they hold a dear spot in my heart. When I was a kid growing up in Chicago during the 50’s, my mom and dad insited that I join a boys club. It was called Onward House and our leader was a fellow named Ken McBride, a former Harelem Globetrotter. I was nine years old and I am now 60. I can’t tell you what a positive influence Ken McBride was on my life. He taught me more about life than he did basketball. He was African American and he mentored all us Italian kids. We learned tolerance and acceptance from him during a time of racial separatism, life lessons I still hold to this day. What a great guy.
2-12-08 7;36 am chunk the desk or end up like katty.
Huh?
I like the old setting better, it was a “warmer” effect. Almost like inviting your family in. I just love your show. We watch you, Steve and what’s his name….oh yeah Brian every morning. Funnist show was Friday with the snake. I just could not stop laughing. You guys are the greatest.
Not on Fox and Friends the viewers want to see everyone…it destroys the feeling of being in the room with old friends that is what makes Fox and Friends so unique. If we wanted desks we could easily flip over to CNN. Access to and being in the room with Alisyn is why everyone here arises out of bed up at 5:30 in the Morning to watch Fox and Friends. Remove Alisyn from that hour or sit her behind a desk and you will loose a large part of your Audience. Alisyn is Fox and Friends, the woman is intelligent, articulate and funny. Putting her behind a desk and making her a news reader is absurd and will cost the show many viewers.
When will Fox understand that the reason many viewers especially those of us in the South who compose a large number of the shows audience watch Fox and Friends is Alisyn Camerota.
Remove Alisyn from that hour? Do you know something I don’t, pogger?
Alisyn,
I think I like you folks using the curvy couch better. You all seem a bit more relaxed there.
Give us this week and maybe we’ll seem at home there. Maybe not.
It seems to me that your weekend shows are trying to mimic Fox and Friends all day long. Fox and Friends First tried to mimic the old weekend shows.
I dont watch past the business block on Saturdays anymore and watch a little of F&F on Sunday thats it. I wish they would bring back the old hosts on Saturday and Sunday and you guys back to the couch.
Ed
Sadly Ed, I think it’s a little late to bring back the old hosts. They’re all onto new horizons.
Alisyn, enjoy all of you very much but this morning something was wrong with your lipstick . I don’t know if it was the color or maybe too much but it didn’t look like you . SORRY !!!!!
I agree with you. Not crazy about the color today.
I get up to watch the first hour specifically to see Alisyn wearing a skirt while sitting on the couch. It makes my day. Putting her behind a desk is a terrible waste of “tallent”. I even get angry when the laptop computer gets in the way. Please guys—Forget the desk.
Keep up the great work,
Paul—–Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
I didn’t see this morning’s show behind the desk, but saw Paige behind the desk on an earlier program (I think it was Saturday) and the angle was very uncomplimentary to her from the waist down. It was a side view and kinda unattractive since she was at the end of the desk. Didn’t like it.
All of the talk about eating squirrels amazes me. I guess that proves it is a regional thing. In Indiana and probably in a lot of the midwest and southern states, we have a squirrel hunting season in the fall. I can remember as a child eating fried squirrel and squirrel gravy…mmmm good…my mother’s was the best! My husband’s best friend made the best squirrel stew ever…no recipe, just his own concoction so there is no duplicating it since he passed away a few years ago. We eat squirrel, rabbit and quail when it is in season. You must remember that in the frontier days, the main source of food was what the menfolk hunted and brought home!! Oh yes, and we fish and eat what we catch!
Barbara in IN
Yes! I did notice the new set and it is great. Unfortunately, I could only hear your visit with the Globetrotters since I left the house and listened to you on XM.
I was disappointed that only those with cellphones can send V-day messages because DH and I do not have one. This Valentine’s day will be our 15th wedding anniversary and I wanted to share our celebration…Oh well! We are probably the only people on the earth without a cellphone, huh?
Have a great Tuesday from Melissa in Paragonah, Utah!
I’m sorry Melissa, did you just say you don’t have a cellphone? That’s impossible. There must be bad reception on this blog. Can you repeat that?
I loved the set change this am. I could only hear your interview with the globetrotters since I was driving to work with the XM on. One disappointment: Only cellphone owners can participate in the ticker on Thursday. DH and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary on this Valentine’s day but alas we don’t own cellphones. Yeah…I know we are probably the only people on the face of the earth who don’t…oh well!
Wow, that is what you said. I’ll send you one of my 1-year old son’s extra ones.
No Alisyn I was merely talking about putting you behind a desk. We love you Alisyn all of you from head to toe…the way you pose, stand and that cute little smile and wiggle. Making you a desk ornament is a stupid move for Fox News management is all I am saying. It takes someone like you Alisyn to motivate people to get out of the bed an hour early to watch Fox and Friends. That is Hard to do from a desk. In this area the deep South Aliysn Camerota is why many do.
Thanks pogger! And because of your strong feelings on the subject, we used the desk more sparingly today.
Alisyn, I remember when you were on mainly on the weekend show, then became regular from 6am until 7am staying for news updates until 10am. do you prefer those weekend shows or the weekly shows?
I’m happy to have my weekends off!
“the desk” is too Newsy Like!
It is the openess of the couch that makes people say things they may not is on the “other side of the desk”
but it is a great hot seat type area
keep it changing thats what I say
its not where you sit that makes you “The #1 News show on Cable”
I don’t like the desk, but the new couch is not very fun either to me. I miss the people behind Steve and Brian! Sad to know people are outside trying to see in, feeling like they are at the “other morning shows”.
Alisyn you are F & F, without you it would be sooo boring!!!!
I miss our on-the-street visitors too Kathy!
Hi A
The best change was when YOU began to stand and give the news.
Don’t you dare hind behind a desk
Bob
Alisyn: I am from San Diego and work at the UCSD Medical Center. There are posters in the hallway about how good our hospital is, etc, and one of the posters looks like YOU – I took photos to email them to you, but don’t know how to send attachments on theis web site, but if you can send me an email address, I will put “Photos of Alisyn in San Diego” in the subject line. Thanks
Try sending it to our show email at friends@foxnews.com Look forward to seeing my doppleganger.
Yes I did notice, and for that particular format I guess it works ok, but I like the sofa setup much better, it seems less formal!

I didn’t care for the desk setting. It just seems to formal and that is what I like about F&F is the informal feel to it. Is this a permanent change?
I do love the show. Watch every morning. All of you are great.
allisyn, i agree with the majority of the comments left on your blogger, ditch the desk. it feels cold and uninviting and i imagine it reminds alot of people about work.
Always like the globe trotters, don’t like your new digs! see you in the moring, maybe…
I noticed the use of the desk and didn’t care for it.
Why is F&F trying to copy the other morning shows by sticking their people behind a desk? What happened to the days when F&F was supposed to be the alternative to the other morning news shows?
Does someone think that using a desk somehow adds credability to the show? Credability comes from the hosts not the furniture on the set. Alisyn’s intelligence and ability to handle all kinds of news is what gives F&F1st credability, not a desk.
Using the desk makes a psychological barrier between the hosts and the viewers. One of the nice things about F&F using a sofa has always been the feel of being relaxed and informal. It is like ‘friends’ getting together for coffee. With the use of the desk it subconciously reminds people of all the times they have had to sit across from someone behind a desk. It puts the person behind the desk in the power position and the other person in a subserviant spot.
I see no good reason for the change and many good reasons to not change. It is a mistake!
On a lighter topic…. the visiting of Alisyn’s buddies, The Harlem Globetrotters. If anyone missed Alisyn’s joining the team back in October, the video is on youtube.

thanks for posting that malone42!
Personally i like the desk.
It’s lonely out there, huh soni?
I love Alisyn,
I wish you were there through the morning on the sofa! You crack me up! Very down to earth and love your humor. I like the desk during this political year.
Meredith,
Have you met soni? I think you guys would get along.
Dear Alisyn…I think I agree with most of your fans represented here. While nice, the old set seemed more approachable. Or, at least, you guys seem more approachable…if not honest and trustworthy.
I know, I know. Honesty and trustworthiness are cliches and have no place in society today. G-d forbid I should ever-so politically In-correctly judge the veracity of the F&F characters. However, I am a risk taker…too frickin’ bad.
I think that’s why I am a fan and watch every morning. I don’t watch because of the set decorations, but frankly, F&F seems a little more honest, presents more balanced viewpoints, than other morning news programs.
Keep it up, and if the Executive Producer starts getting that glaze over his/her eyes that connotes a pending change…send’em out for coffee…or Therapy! Shalom Aleichem, Mark P.
I don’t like it even a little bit. As others have said, your ability to get people to tune in has everything to do with visual appeal and that desk is just wrong.
Desk? Why? Are you great with child and hiding it?Fire the genius that came up with that desk idea.
Nothing can help you or your program. You are not entertaining and certainly do not report on current newsworthy happenings. I shall continue to watch Headline News as it is more entertaining and does give current news items. Of course, I am a 73 year old Reagan Conservative.
What’s wrong Jerry, HN not offering any entertaining blogs?
IT’S BLASPHEMY TO HAVE ALISYN BEHIND A DESK!!!!!!! I mean lets face it Alisyn has the best legs of any morning news show on the air. Now you want to cover those up, its CRAZY!!!! Alisyn please fight the powers that be to remove the desk!!!
First, it’s clear to me you should be getting more face time and Brian “Free Cobra” Kilmeade less! You always seem to be on your game and Brian — well, Brian is Brian.
I think the desk this is good whenever something huge is happening in the news, otherwise the curvy couch gives F&F a distinctive look. I’m not fond of the awkward transition from your opening standup to the sofa. It looks as though all three of you are on the verge of tripping over the coffee table and falling into an undignified heap
We’ve solved that problem Bob. Stay tuned.
Hi Aly,
To Jerry Lubbers, I respectively have to disagree with you. Fox & friends rocks! Aly is great, I think you might have this show confused with the Today show or another early morning show. I really find it hard to believe that you are a Reagan conservative, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion but I just wondered why your on this blog. Headlines is waiting for you, you might be one of the few viewers they have. Good luck to you.
Aly- I think the desk is ok when your doing political stuff, but for the most part I like the curvy couch and most of all you & the guys make the show what it is not the desk or curvy couch.
Alisyn, I like the couch better. Watch you guys every day.
Didn’t care too much for the desk. Like the other posters I think ya’ll (GA girl here)are more relaxed on the couch. My husband and I love your quick witted humor and the great chemistry between you and the “boys”. Oh and just a question, why did Mr. Jerry Lubbers (a few posts before me) even take the time to come to your blog and comment if he is soooo thrilled w/ headline news. Go figure! You guys are great and I hate when I wake up before six and have to wait until F&F comes on!
The couch is better. Ditch the desk. We don’t want a “newsroom” atmosphere first thing in the morning. What you had was great!! Why change a great thing?
I don’t like the desk. Get back on the couch! That set was part of your carisma!
Ditch the Desk.
Lose the desk. To formal, it is what sets you guys apart from the rest. If they ever figure this out, they will all buy a curvy couch! Awesome show, keep it up!
The desk or couch – either makes no difference to me. It’s the news and how it’s presented by the hosts that matters.
I really liked your make up today. Red is good on you.
Please… Just say no to the desk. The couch gives it a more casual feel as opposed to the board-stiff (yes, “board” as in, a plank up their back) desk jockeys on some of the other morning shows. What next, Brian and Steve doing voice deepening exercises to sound like “News Men” and I guess you and Gretchen will have to become “Stepford-like” as well?
You have a great thing going and I really enjoy all of you.
It’s the attitude, the atmosphere, and the co-host chemistry that makes the show and around here we have a saying, perhaps you’ve heard it before; “If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it!”
Hmmm…. Desk or legs? What do you think?
I did not like the desk. The couch is more homey and relaxed. Not to mention, like others have said before me, it hides your legs. While you are at it, get rid of them darn banners! They turn my 26″ TV into a 19″ (and they hide your heels).
While I’m at it, ‘Fox News Alert’ should be for breaking big news like Mars exploded or something, now Peterson is still a suspect.
Despite my complaints you are still the best news station going and F&F is the best morning show, even with the desk.
Yes, I noticed and it was a nice change and made the am a little different. How did you like it?
Do away with the desk. It makes the whole show seem off. Fox and Friends is more than just reading the news which is what was happening when you were sitting behind that desk. There is less interaction which most people enjoy.
Three purposes for a couch:
1. To be comfy.
2. To be comfortable.
3. To be kept by Fox & Friends.

Rather see yall slouch-
Then to look too professional,
as to getting rid of the couch.

Why does someone think the set needs changing? The desk should go. The other news programs use desks and fill up the screen with various “garbage” which causes the primary picture to be the size of a postage stamp. If I want to see that type of screen, I can always go to any of the other news channels. The Fox persons are reporting and keeping a personal contact with the viewer by the casual presentation. The ladies dress well with an attractive image and show us they are much more than just a pretty face. The men dress well and maintain a professional appearance while being personable.
Allison,
What is going on? There is so much garbage on the bottom of the screen that I can only see you guys from your arm pit up. What is all that garbage. I am sure that everyone (that cares) knows that Ob bet Hil and Mck bet Huck. TAKE IT OFF THE SCREEN”! Soon it will be a radio show.
This election is so sad. We have already heard this garbage for over a year. Now we have ten more months to go. Are we electing white versus black or are we electing a President for our great country?
What do these people stand for? What is their stragy? What are they planning to do about Health Care, the ECONOMY and taxes? Weren’t taxes put in place to help with the cost of WWII? Weren’t they suppose to go away? Do you ever talk about the fair tax? What is Mck, OB, Hil or Huck going to do about this?
I am so sick of the news. I watch you every day hoping to hear something other than the election and Spears. I love Fox but I am so sick of the election and leave that poor woman alone. She is sick and she can’t get help with her picture all over and the P chasing her. Let her get well. I have never even heard one of her songs but I still feel sorry for her.
I do love the blog. I got the recipe for Frankie V’s meatballs and the first ladies favorite I haven’t tried the rest yet but I will.
Go out and get creative. Stop talking about the election and these usless candidates. Talk abuot our wonderful military, human beings, weather. I don’t care. Anything but that OB is for change.
Who isn’t? How does that qualify him?
Please tell Mr. O’Rielly that I love his show but he is really getting wimpy when someone (Morris) states the truth about candidates and Mr. O’Reilly says “Oh but we have to understand” no I don;t have to understand. I like Mr. O’Reilly’s opinions not a wimp position.
Please take that junk off the bottom of the screen. Just a few minutes ago I watched man in Ohio interview regular people. For pty sake I had to look at some car spinning around saying election 2008 and all that garbage on the bottom. The poor guy was stuck in the corner and we could barely see him.
Thanks for listening because my husband is tired of me screaming at the TV. Don’t let Fox fail us.
Get a grip
Kyle
The “Desk” needs to go. I like the couch setup much better; it provides a bit more informality. They also need to have you doing more segments, you have a way of delivering the news that’s hypnotic and makes me want to watch. BTW, you guys need to start say, half an hour earlier. This way, I can get more than 15 minutes in as I get ready for work.
Also, tell Steve that we miss him from WRC-4 here in the DC area. He was always a fun guy to have doing the news, but I am glad that he moved on.
LOSE the desk… I agree with the majority!!!
Sorry, the new set just dosen’t work. Looks cheap. Thanks.
ALISYN,PLEASE TELL THEM TO DUMP THE DESK.I HAVE TO AGREE,IT DOES LOOK CHEAP.WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???I LIKE SITTING ON MY COUCH,WATCHING YOU ALL ON YOURS.YOU ALSO DON’T LOOK COMFORTABLE .IT HAS A CHILLY ATMOSPHERE.LOOKS LIKE YOU MIGHT NEED A SWEATER.THAT’S THE IMPRESSION IT GIVES ME ANYWAY.
DON’T LISTEN TO ANYONE BLOGGING AN RAGGING AT YOU ABOUT THE RED LIPSTICK THE OTHER DAY.IT’S DEFINITELY YOUR COLOR!!LIGHTS UP YOUR FACE! DON’T LISTEN TO THEM,PLEASE. YOU DO A GREAT JOB!! THANKS FOR LISTENING.
Alisyn, the desk gives the impression of the old Dan Rather reporting era, always hiding behind something. Get rid of the desk.
Be Well
Allison,
So nice to see this ongoing blog space. I am watching the programming on Saturday morning the 16th of February.
I Have to agree with the comments made by Kyle and others with regard to the new very bad habit of packing garbage all over the bottom of the screen, Each year I watch more space taken away from the programming that I dialed in to see. I makes me wonder how long it will be before every channel is 80%
advertisement and 20% content.
the only programming that is all content anymore are the commercials.
However, The new crew that is on this morning are by far the worst group that I have seen Fox experiment with. They toss opinion around like it were a fact, state items that are not true and fail to even read the TelePrompTer with any skill. In the past my TV would stay tuned to Fox from whenever I arose until specific programming that I had predetermined to watch was airing on a different channel. As it is, I am now listening more to the radio.
Responsible show hosts who have a decent education, can pronounce the words used in our language, know their geography and are slow to offer their personnel opinion about every little thing is what made Fox a great force for fair and balanced “Reporting”. I miss the day when I had no doubt that I could trust Fox to get it right, keep it straight and report without introduced bias.
Has the Fox company given any thought to having ongoing training seminars for it’s “talent” ? Help them to learn the names of places, world geography, world and especially US History, current events etc? Such a program could help fox news presenters, (especially the very young hosts) deliver the information that we tune in to receive with more accuracy and a lot less annoyance to what I imagine is a large educated segment of our society.
Thanks for the opportunity to express my opinion. I hope to leave the NEWS to you.
Hey you guys……………ever heard this before? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
I add my vote also for a “clean screen” All those ads and crawls give the appearance of a bunch of high school kids running the show. Come on producers…………clean up the screen. All that crap going on in the bottom third of the picture looks for all the world like an amateur production. Is that what you want? Did you ever wonder how you became #1? It’s the people you present, not all the high-tech mumbo jumbo.
Wise up…………………
Speaking of being #1 because of the people you present…..
Anybody know what happened to the weekend team: Page, Kelly, and Greg?? They were GREAT together and we really looked forward to seeing them every weekend. Then, yesterday – *BAM* – they were gone and no one said a word about where they were??? Is that how “friends” treat their viewers??? Hey Alisyn – how about telling FOX News to let their faithful viewers know what’s going on with Page, Kelly, and Greg? We sure hope we don’t get any more surprises like this during the weekday show…..?????????
Speaking of becoming #1 because of the people you present….
Anybody know what happened to Page, Greg, and Kelly???? We enjoyed seeing them every weekend and, yesterday… *BAM*!!! All three were *GONE*!!! Nothing was mentioned about this at the beginning of the show??? They were our “friends” – Fox News made them our friends – and we are really disappointed in Fox for not even mentioning this anywhere…
Hey Alisyn – can you let Fox News know that we think this is kind of rude? We are faithful viewers and really would like to know what happened to our weekend frinds. Wow – we hope we don’t tune in some weekday morning and find out that *someone else* is missing??? WE LIKE YOU and think this blog is terrific!!!
Add one more vote for the old setting as well as bringing back the flow of events at the beginning of the show (ie – walking over to the set and being seated rather than the camera coming in on the set with everyone already sitting).

I lost mine to a speeding ticket ($135),
it took forever to get it back,
during that time…
I could not cash checks,
I could not donate blood at LifeSource,
I could not apply for Social Security, and
I could not apply for a credit card at Sears to save $232 on a new washer and dryer!
