Alisyn in the Greenroom

Testing…Is this thing On??

Good morning!  I’m pouring over all your suggestions and comments from yesterday’s post and look forward to introducing them on the AtSS.  This morning we’re also going to play a clip for you of things Katie Couric said when she didn’t know (or didn’t care) that her mic was on.  But for the grace of God go we…  We have our mics on all the time and it’s all we can do to remember to turn them off before we do or say embarassing things.  I am forever reminding guests in the Greenroom that my mic “is hot” when they’re gossiping.

So whose private conversation would you most like to overhear if you could place your sneaky microphone on an unwitting person?

I would like to overhear the comments in the greenroom from Bill and Hillary Clinton.

First: STOP telling those people the mic is hot before we get to hear what they say!

Second: Let’s trade Poll Prancing for Pole Dancing! We need a political break before we all jump the fence and head south!!!!!!

(I am curious to know if anyone has determined how much each candidate spent per vote in Michigan.)

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

Believe me Michael, I’ve been tempted NOT to tell them but then I figure they’d be so angry that they’d never come back and bad mouth us to all their friends.

Castro is more fair and balanced than MSNBC. I wonder when the Army uniforms will start showing up on the channel.

I like to hear anything unrehearsed. Its like hearing a live band compared to a slick studio mix. You get the real stuff. KEEP THE MIC HOT!
TY Alisyn for keeping it real!!
love you guys,

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

You must love the A.S.S.!

Comment by John Pons

I would love for someone to get Obama saying what he really thinks. lol, now that would be a first!

Comment by Ed Reining

Alisyn I would love to see an open mike in yours and Rebecca Gomez office, so we can get the inside scoop of whats going on. I think a live cam in the office would be fun either in the green room or office whether miked or not.

Ed

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

Trust me, that could be its own reality show. And a camera could capture all the dressing and undressing — if you like that sort of thing.

Comment by Nick Francone

Good morning Alisyn, you are looking particularly lovely today. I would love to place a mic on Gretchen Carlson to see if she really is as nice as she comes off. I trust she sure is. I also appreciate Gretchen’s helping to break the stereotype of pageant winners as just beauty and no brains.

Also, have you mailed the autographed pictures of yourself to the winners of the “what’s Richard Simmons real name” contest?

Stay well…

Comment by Ed Reining

Sorry I got lost in thought just imagining on my last post.

Why wouldnt you show what Katie Couric said with her mike? I know no one thought about not showing or playing Kira Phillips ranting about her sister-in-law last year? I quit watching Katie years ago about her obvious political bias. The good thing I became a full time Fox News viewer for the most part.

Ed

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

Ed,
did you see? We answered your questions on the A.S.S. today.

Comment by FL Sunshine

Bill & Hillary’s conversation would be interesting. I’m thinking they are both the type people that would be smiling and waving at the camera while under their breath they are trash talking the people they are smiling at.

Comment by DogOnCrack

I’d like to know what Domenica Davis has to say off camera.

Comment by Tony

I would love to listen to Brian and Gretchen talk in private! I bet he is closeted “something”! lol
Maybe he has a couple of little skels hangin around? hehehe…. AND what about Gretchen? them eyes are hiding something too…

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

I’ll keep an eye on both of them.

Comment by William "Bill" Batson

Although Steve apolized to Mr. Thompson I believe that Steve showed again that those in media have personal agendas. If you compare the interview with Huckabee vs. Thompson and the joking with Huckabee and the somewhat attack on issues with Thompson, Mr. Thompson had to defend his positions while the joking went on with Huckabee. As a voter who is very concerned about the way the United States is headed we should be talking more about the issues.

Comment by Kyle

I think it would be interesting to hear what the presidential candidates really have to say when the cameras are off.

Comment by Leslie Emerson

It would be a toss up between Obama and Clinton.

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

Wasn’t there an unguarded moment between the two of them in one of the first debates? Or was that Hillary and Edwards?

Comment by Sammy N.

Alisyn –

Good morning! You are looking really good and I wish you were on the couch all the time (instead a certain other female broadcaster). You are just much cuter, hotter, funnier and smarter. Hopefully your bosses read this blog, because I am rooting for you! Good luck.

Comment by Sammy N.

The most intriging microphone to be left on, would definitely be yours Alisyn. I would love to hear your private thoughts and conversations.

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

My private thougts go something like this, “Does that muffin have chocolate chips in it?”

Comment by Geoff Ward

I would love to listen to Hillery, during a “lamp throwing” with Bill… No doubt it would be Bill crying!!!

Love your after the show … since we get you really early in AZ… I watch from bed with my laptop.

Keep up the good work.

Geoff in AZ

Comment by Leslie Emerson

I would love to here obama and clinton when they were not aware.

Comment by FL Sunshine

I guess I missed the clip on Couric or are you showing it during tASS? I can’t wait to hear it!

Comment by Leslie Emerson

Hope I didn’t leave that comment twice. Not sure my comments are getting through.
I would also love to hear comments from Oprah when she is unaware.

Comment by Rob In Alabama

Hi Alisyn:

Darlin’, you are a Goddess! Love watching you every morning. You brighten everyones’ day!

Roll Tide!

Comment by Zim

I’d like to hear what you’d say if you didn’t know a microphone was on. Just what would you be saying about the guests, the candidates, co-workers, the bosses??? By the way just curious how tall are you? The camera angle (and the heels) make you look very tall.

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

It’s an optical illusion — I’m a shrimp!

Comment by Patrick McWilliams

Well after Senator Fred Thompson was cut off this morning on Fox and Friends, I would love to hear what he was saying during the hot mic. Good job, guys. You stuck him between two commercial breaks and and keyed your questions to last week’s heated debate between the Senator and Govenor Huckabee. Talk about beating a dead horse.

Comment by Danny

Hi Alysion, I would like to hear Obama, either on or off mic, recite the Pledge of Allegience. Have you heard he would not recite it?

Comment by Don Tye

Alisyn, how do I find the clip of Katie Couric?

Comment by Leslie Emerson

This after the show show is fun. First time viewed and am enjoying the banter. Why does Brian leave every day? Does he have a date or something? Would also love to hear his off the air comments. Although I believe that he says them out loud all the time.

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

Yes, he has a date — with the judge.

Comment by Bob

I would like to hear the F&F team off mike….can’t get enough of you guys

Comment by Michael

That was some good A.S.S. I got a kick out of that one! lol

Comment by Tom Fischer

My first time to the AtSS and it appears the video isn’t live?

Comment by Ed Reining

Alisyn, I am so sorry for Bogarting this blog today, but thanks for covering my request on the ASS.

When I used to have my big dish satelite I always watched the live feeds rather then network feed for the reasons you were talking about today. I miss them with the small dish and wish they would go back. I did catch Joan Lunden trying to get a makeup person in trouble. The sports were the best when you could catch conversations of the anouncers talking about girl so and so in row 14. LOL I miss those days. The affiliate promo’s were good also.

Ed

Comment by Sally In Dallas

my word! The last part of the Katie clip was a riot! I would guess the control room would have caught it if it could not be said on the internet.

Comment by Michael

I really enjoy the whole F&F team, but you are definitely that little spark that sets the show apart from other morning programs. Not real crazy about the weekend version and I am not even sure why.

Comment by FL Sunshine

I’ve always wondered (like in the case when you guys interviewed the 2 “fat” guys in Louisiana who ate too much at the buffet) how hard you laugh when you go to commercial break. I mean really, I was sitting here laughing just wondering how Steve was going to cut the guy off. I’m sure there must be some comments between you guys about interviews you have had like that one. I would LOVE to hear those!

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

We often laugh through the commercial breaks but it’s usually at something ridiculous one of us has just said or done on air.

Comment by Nick Francone

I’m glad Steve Doocy apologized to Senator Thompson. Steve was rude and Fox already has an O’Reilly for that stuff, they don’t need another.

And…even though I want to see you on that couch, I sure don’t want Gretchen replaced as was suggested earlier on the blog. If anyone should go and make room for you it is Steve Doocy. He often comes off as silly and unprofessional.

Comment by Renee

I would love to hear Shepard Smith. He’s funny and sarcastic on the air…I can only imagine what he’s saying when the cameras aren’t rolling!

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

Comment by Kim from FL

I would like to have heard what Randy Jackson was really thinking after Brian’s comment about Kucinich being one of the 3 people he was watching for President.

Comment by ChrisC

Good Morning Alisyn,

Couldn’t get the Katie video to pull up, but no biggie!! Like others have mentioned, listening to the candidates on an open mike would be very interesting.

Also, wanted to send my regards for the show and the commentary. I watch and enjoy the balance between entertainment and giving it to us straight. Keep up the good work!!!!

Have a great day!!

Comment by Nancy Walter

i’ve clicked on everything trying to get the “after the show show”, but it won’t come up (?)

i haven’t watched katie couric in forever, but was interested in hearing what she would say in an unguarded moment.

Comment by Mary Gillis

I wouldn’t waste my time catching some random recording from someone who’s comments and opinions won’t really effect me – I watch Fox News because reporters like Katie annoy me so much. I know what she’s about; and the presidential hopefuls – well there’s a plethora of info. on them. Not rocket science to know what there about – no surprises. I’d rather have something substantial that could stand undisputed in the world arena.

I’d love to hear what Kim Jong-il has to say when he doesn’t think the world is listening….better than that, have someone ask him a nuke related question first…..

It’s tempting to be a “fly on the wall” but you’re right Alyson – I know me…it wouldn’t take long for someone to record something incriminating, straight from the horse’s mouth….so to speak :-)

Have a great day!

Missed the Katie “clip”..I have cut back on watching the local news and 3 network stations in our area (too much LSU and Katrina). Love your show….I like the female switch-out…it gives everyone a chance to express their views. I also enjoy the week-end show, especially Greg Kelly…a real handsome and intelligent man. Keep up the “fair & balanced”.

I STARTED TO WATCH FOX & FRIENDS BECAUSE OF THE FAIR AND BALANCE NEWS, NOW I WATCH IT BECAUSE OF YOU ALISYN. YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL, INTELLIGENT POISED LADY.
I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR THE COMMENTS OF HILL AND BILL, I AM SURE IT WOULD BE THAT WE STILL ARE FOOLING THEM.

Thanks for watching Larry!

Great Show!

Keep up the good work!

I watch your show every morning before I go to work!

I have to tell you a story I was in San Fran awhile ago staying at a nice hotel! Fox was not on their cable system so I calld to complain to the front desk.

The Woman/Girl at the desk sent a repair person up to fix my t.v…

True Story!

Thought you would get a kick out of it….

Alisyn,

My second time posting today, first one must have gotten dropped. I can’t imagine why.

Anyway, great A.S.S. today. Really enjoy the show while working out, and now I am getting hooked on your blog.

What is the deal with Ms. Couric? She used to seem so nice, and now seems a bit….well you know.

Everyone really wants to listen to Bill and Hill – YAWN! What about Bill and Monica?

Comment by Bob G

Alisyn,

I didn’t get to post yesterday… Double chocolate chip muffin? So you’re saying it’s all an appearance with you guys! :)

Joking of course, we love you guys no matter how bad your diet is! DOH! Kidding again.

when will today’s atss be posted???

Comment by Lovette

What I’d most like to overhear is what is said by the likes of Cesar Laurean in private following the death of the pregnant Marine. It would be very telling, especially since his plan seems to be to say she killed herself–yeah, and buried herself out in his backyard!

Comment by Thomas L. Hill

At first thought I would love to hear some inside information from Alan Greenspan, however that seems to greedy. It would have to be a private conversation between Usama and the American Jihadist (Adam the Idiot) about where they were going to meet up. I would then email Colonel Hunt and give him the info.

Comment by Barbara

Good Afternoon Alisyn,

I just want to thank P.J. Edwards for furnishing the website link to see and hear Katie Couric’s video.

I’ve never seen the A.S.S. Any hints on how I can find it?

My husband and I always watch F&F before he leaves for work, but we really wish Brian would stop saying such inane things. Sometimes we simply have to change the station when they get too silly.

Comment by Alisyn Camerota

Hey Barbara,
You can normally find the A.S.S. on this blog every afternoon.
You and your husband are not alone!

Comment by marlene

I would like to hear what Bill and Hillary say when they think no one is listening!! Could be quite enlightening.

Comment by Kathy in Texas

I am waiting for A. S.S. to be posted! I watched the video, it is a lot like the one I watched a few weeks ago. She is not who she proclaims to be, but I am not surprised. Not everyone can be as perfect as Alisyn!

More than anything, I would like America to hear what the Clinton’s say to each other and to their staff when the microphone is off. Now that would open some eyes, I’m certain.

Comment by Paula LSMO

I’d like to hear a private conversation between President Bush and Mrs Bush. I’d love to hear what he thinks about all the idiotic things that the Dems say about him.

Was there no AtSS today?

Comment by Mary Elizabeth Rumsey-Porter, Texas

Three people I’d like to sneak a microphone on:

1. Jay Leno (Can’t stand this making up my own jokes.)

2. President Bush (Does everyone really believe that the Saudia Arabian King is worried about
our high gas prices?)

3. My daughter while on the phone (Yeah, the reason I can talk to you now is because my
mother, THINKS, I already did my homework.)

I would like you to tell me why nobody is asking the question could that marine be the baby’s father the time frame seems to indicate that. The marines are hiding info because they don’t want to look bad. The fact is the marines must not think women in general are worth being there it’s still a man’s world. It’s disgusting to think that poor women’s death could have maybe have been prevented. I have nothing but the highest respect for the arm forces but this was a slap in a womens face and the lack of respect is shameful. Now two people are dead because of a judgement call. Are we saying that the marines are above any laws. The only thing that would be right is if they made some offering to show that they are sorry and change policy’s that affect women.

Hi Alisyn,
I’m up early every morning and love watching Fox and Friends First. I made my husband put a TV
and cable in the kitchen ( with 4 children this is where I spend most of my time).

Anyway, the wife of the Laurean should not receive immunity. If she is involved in the murder of Lauterbach and that innocent unborn child she deserves to be prosecuted to the fullist. Maybe the DA will give her a break since she is cooperating. It just make me sick that someone could do this to any human especially a child.

Hi Alisyn,

our tv goes on at 5:30am every morning. and i love every minute of the fox news. you, brian and steve are great. i would love to put a hot mic on rosie odonnell & barbara walters. that would be a show of its own. hey what happened to harris faulkner? have a wonderful day……
