Alisyn in the Greenroom

Questions for Brian’s Family? (and their Struffoli recipe!)

Brian’s beautiful wife Dawn and adorable kids, Kirstyn, Kaitlyn and Bryan are sitting here in the Greenroom. (Actually, they’re mopping up the water that Kaitlyn just spilled on the floor. Ah…kids). Kaitlyn, the four year old, is nervous about being on t, and at the moment, refusing to go on. Brian is gently cajoling her.

So, while I have them captive, any questions you’d like to ask?

Mama Kilmeade’s Struffoli (also known as STRUFILI)

4 cups flour

1 ½ cups honey

1 tsp. baking powder less than ¼ cup sugar

½ tsp. salt Rind of one orange

½ bar butter Colored sprinkles

6 large eggs or 7 small

In large bowl add flour, baking powder and salt. Add butter (break up with fingers if necessary to be sure its well mixed). Make a well and pour in beaten eggs..now take sides of flour and work into eggs a little at a time to get solid piece of dough. On floured board knead dough for at least 15 minutes- cut dough to see that there are no bubbles - if there are, knead until gone. Now, take a little piece of dough and roll into a noodle shape and cut off small pieces about

¼ inch size. In large pot, heat oil. When hot, drop pieces into oil…stir occasionally and cook until golden (not too brown). Cook entire batch. Next, in big pot add honey, sugar and orange rind..boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Now take strufili and stir in the honey mixture stirring well. Take small glass and place small greased glass in center of dish…Place strufili around glass in mounds packing it well to keep it firm…Put on sprinkles and let stand..when firm remove glass and place holly sprig or Christmas ornament in middle. Cover with saran wrap and keep in cool place.

Will Brians girls sing like Gretchens children did? Her little boy was so cute!
I woke from a nightmare this morning that that supermodel..introduced fox and friends and said she was going to be on with Brians family??!! That was too weird….
Thanks,
Diana

Does your wife work outside the home? Does Brian do yardwork? Why is Brian’s son’s name spelled differently (Bryan)?

(the website I entered is my 10-year old daughter’s travel fastpitch softball team website - she is an awesome pitcher!!)

Brian’s Family is absolutely adorable. Thank your mom for the recipe, they are a family favorite! My Grandma used to make them every year and we did not have her recipe.
Merry Christmas!

My grandmother made struffoli for years. It’s a Christmas (and Easter) tradition that we all love! Now the younger generation continues the tradition… it’s tedious to make, but worth all the effort.

Brian,
I just loved watching the show this morning as I always do every morning. Living here in Arizona, with the time difference, I don’t see the early part of the show.

Your mom’s Struffoli’s really brought back memories for me because they were always a Christmas treat in our home in Connecticut. My father and his sister came here from Foggia, Italy as children and my aunt always made the Struffoli. They have long since passed and I didn’t have my aunt’s recipe. Please thank your mom for giving us her recipe. I look forward to making them. Memories are priceless, especially at this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas to you and your family,
Jean

Alisyn, please, please, please dont do the radio show next week. We want you on the ASS show and whole 3 hours of F&F. I think Chris Schulo would be the perfect co-host with Brian.

Dont know what your plans for the Christmas is but I do want wish you a Merry Christmas!

Good morning Alisyn,

Just a question about the Struffoli…once the greased glass is centered on the plate with the Struffoli placed around around it…should the cooked honey be put in the glass for dipping?

Please advise…I love Italian Christmas dishes!

I am truly blessed by your show…I miss E.D. and Lauren Green….but Gretchen and Alisyn you didn’t miss a beat! Your sincere and witty personality’s with Steve and Brian’s personality’s makes Fox and Friends the best show. Watching the 4 of you in the morning before work, sends me out the door with a smile on my face every morning. So, thanks and may all of you be blessed with peace, joy and love during the Christmas season.

Brian….my husbands family is Italian so, I’m surprising them with Strufoli for Christmas Eve.

Blessings,

I really enjoyed this week with the families of Steve (great family video), Gretchen (darling kids), Alyson (What a nice Mom) and Brian (great family…and a beautiful wife!) It was a treat. Thank you. The after the show show is a must, too! I also enjoy seeing the people behind the scene that we get to see from time to time. Have been a faithful viewer for about 4 years. Thanks for the fun in the morning. I live in Washington State so have to tape it…but it’s so worth it.

Hey Fox “gang”! I enjoyed all of your “families”! I’ve been watching for some time and enjoy your show more and more. The “other” shows are just not up to “PAR” with you guys. You just seem like part of our family. I do feel you give both sides of the way things are instead of trying to bring us over to the “Liberal” side of things.

Please, Please, keep up the good work as I’ll be watching you!!!!!

Brian,

Just wanted to say, I love watching your show. I think what you guy’s are doing is great. I watch it every day, when I either come home from school or work. I watch whatever I can to keep me informed of what’s going on. Hopefully you can E-mail me back personally. That would be cool.
I had back sugrey in 1996 and doing fairly well. I have my pain on some days. Weather hasn’t helped lately as you could imange.

I go to Niagara County Community College. This is my last year. We never thought I would make it this far. I just passed an accounting course with a D+. All by my self, no help from my Mom or anybody. Just the teacher once in a while. I passed with a 67.2%, and got 2 extra points for making every day. So far I haven’t missed a day in 2+ semesters. I’ve been through quite a bit.

I am going to the Sabres Ice Bowl on January 1st with my Mom. We got special tickets from the Casino to go in a bus and then box seats in the Stadium. I’m excited and nervous at the same time.

Hope you do well for Christmas.

Just wanted to say I love watching your shows. I also listen to a lot of Videos from FoxNews.com also to keep me informed.

HOPE YOU HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY. I TRY TO.

We also have 2 new dogs after I lost the dog I had for 14 years, her name was Taylor, great dog, Died Dec. 22nd. Just before Chirstmas. Very sad. Hard to get over. Took months.
Hopefully I’ll hear from you in my regualr E-mail.

I love your show.

Brian,

I loved seeing your children. Your girls are adorable and very typical. I loved the fact of the smallest one manning the microphone. She seemed very professional and will probably follow in her dad’s footsteps. Tell Dawn the next time we want her on air. I love Brian and the Judge also.

What does “1 tsp. baking powder less than ¼ cup sugar” mean? Sorry Brian but I’m not Italian and don’t understand.

Long time viewer, love the show, but really miss Lauren Green. Fortunately for me, she’s getting a lot of air time this Christmas season.

Thank your mom for the recipe, everyone in my family loved them. The best ones I made so far. Marry Christmas, and love to all. Fran from Farmingville

I missed your family being on Alisyn and Brian’s. Is there any chance of pic’s on here in the future? I loved the one here with Steve and family. What a cutie wife he has. Alisyn, I know it is exhausting with three little kids, bet you know how Brad and Angelina feel, but do so enjoy them while you can they grow up so fast. We are on great grandchildren but oh how I remember when they were little. I love you, Steve and Brain so much and hope that you all stay together for a very long time. Love you all, sisjudy aka Judy………….
