I was a teen mother. I was told by the "world" around me that I had ruined my life, that I was a slut, that I could never amount to anything because I chose to have a baby rather than abort it or give it up for adoption. Luckily, my parents were phenominal. They told me that my life was only beginning, that I still had many options, and that although the road I chose would be difficult, it was not impossible.

I put myself through college. I have a very successful business career. I married and had another child.

Please stop judging Jamie Lynn. I was offended with Brian's comment this morning that he doesn't want his kids exposed to "that". Well my friend.... "that" is called life. Kids are smart. We can have conversatiions with our children about making choices and about living with the consequences without glamorizing anything. Do the right thing Fox. Stop the judgement and try supporting a very young and scared young lady that has no idea what she's in for. Perhaps a segment on compassion is appropriate?

By the way...my daughters are the most incredible gift I've ever received. And I thank God every day for them and for parents that taught me to take responsibility for my actions rather than taking the easy way out.

Great point was made by one of the bloggers whom are we to judge how this girl lives her life. Theres consequences some of us take heed to what our parents warned us about teenage sex. Hey if ths girl wants this. More power to her . But also know the sacrifices you are making Miss Spears

It's too bad that she is being "lynched" for her bundle of joy. Keeping the baby means she values life, how refreshing these days! I have a student teacher in my third grade classroom who was grilled by the children when she brought in her 3 year old and they new she would be getting married in the fall of 08. I was very proud when she explained that she did things backwards. Her love of her child is very evident, her life has been difficult to say the least, but no one would argue she loves her child and is a fantastic mother. It is time we stop thinking of Jamie as her sister and allow her to show her own colors before we make judgement calls of someone we don't personally know.

Sick..sick..sick..sick of the 'Spears' and all their highly publized public life/bad behavior!! My mother used to say.."you should never reward bad behavior"...every time I see something blasting out of yet another headline it shouts out "look, the wonderful Spears family is doing something totally irresponsible AGAIN and we are going to make sure they get all the attention they so richly deserve!!!" I work in a Neurology Dept and see people suffering everyday from ALS, Epilepsy, Parkinsons, on and on the list goes. These are the people and their caregivers that are out there everyday 'fighting the good fight'. **Side note...your holiday set looks really cheesy....three pots of flowers?...no wreath with lights at least in the background? Did the Grinch steel your holiday decorations? If so, I have an old wreath up in the attic you could borrow. Course, its been stored it in the attic and living in Florida I can't guarantee what kind of shape its in..for all I know its half melted. Let me know if you want to use it...I will overnight it.

Can you tell me what the legal age of consent is for California? I thought 16 was considered a minor. Isn't a boy of 18 taking advantage of a 16 year old? I've known some grown up 16 year olds but apparently this 16 year old thought you could not get pregnant if you do not use a condom. Even if she knew about that, isn't the 18 year old a pedophile? Shouldn't charges be made against the boy?

I remember about 10 years ago in Houston a man from Mexico brought his wife over to the states. She was pregnant and it turned out she was 16 yrs old. He was arrested eventhough they were married.

What's the difference in this case?

I have a 14 year old and an 11 year old. I also teach in a public high school so I have in my home and around me everyday students who watch this program. Someone on another network was talking about keeping Miss Spears on the show and that this opens the doors of communication about sexuality for parents and kids. This is hogwash. Let her situation be the jumping off point for a conversation but take her off the show. The reality is that Miss Spears will have someone else to raise her child while she does her show. Most young ladies who find themselves in this situation do not. They end up barely finishing high school and if they are lucky and finish - they may or may not go on to college. If they do go to college there is even less support for young parents so they eventually drop out. Only about 10 % will finish. There is very limited quality tv programing for kids this age. I look at some of the other talent that Nickelodeon as produced such as Amanda Bynes for example. The quality of her work continues to be top notch and appropriate for most of the audience that watched her on the network. Why would Nickelodeon allow this type of situation hurt the reputation they have created? Other than PBS, it is them or Disney. Walt wouldn't have stood for this and neither should the executives an Nickelodeon. If they allow this to continue then it would seem that Nickelodeon is more interested in the ratings that this "scandal" has created rather than the interest of its young viewers or trust of their viewers parents. Trust is hard to earn and once it is lost, even harder to get back.

I am an avid "Fox & Friends" watcher, and love to listen to each of your comments in the morning as I am getting ready for work. However, this morning when the subject of Brittany Spears sister being pregnant was being discussed, Gretchen was saying how disgusted she was and also made comments about Miss Spears mother. I could not help but think, no matter how much we teach our children the importance of abstinence, our children are the ones that make these choices, not the parents. Even though it is very sad that Miss Spears is pregnant, it is not the end of the world, like Gretchen was making it sound this morning. Teenagers make bad decisions everyday, not matter how much we try to teach them to follow God's word. I just hope Gretchen remembers this when her children become teenagers.
