Alisyn in the Greenroom

Olivia Newton John’s Baked Apples!

Olivia Newton John graced our greenroom this morning and you’ve never seen Maureen (make-up artist extrodinaire) more excited.  Olivia is her idol and responsible for some questionable clothing choices Maureen made as a teenager (remember the “Let’s Get Physical” headband? the black spandex pants in “Grease”?  Yup, Maureen had ‘em.)

Maureen and Olivia

Check out this favorite holiday recipe she gave me for her Baked Stuffed Apples:

– Core 6 green apples

– Stuff them with as many dried raisins and apricots as will fit in the hollowed out center

– Fill the bottom of a baking dish with orange juice, arrange the stuffed apples on top

– Bake for 1/2 an hour at 350 degrees

– Serve warm with ice cream and nuts (optional) sprinkled on top

Olivia says the orange juice becomes carmelized during the baking process and makes a delicious sauce.  Enjoy!

Seeing Olivia Newton John brings up all sorts of memories, some funny, some bittersweet — all worth remembering! her voice is as lovely as ever – I will be on the lookout for her CD this holiday season.

In addition to being addicted to the Fox channel, I am also addicted to Food Network. I love collecting recipes – the simpler, the better! The trick is not to immediately cook every recipe I collect…or I’d be as big as a house!

Thanks for passing along that recipe Alisyn. Any more pictures of Olivia to share?

Hey Bill,
I would have loved to get more photos but Olivia was fighting the clock and had to run right after singing her two songs.

I’ve caught glimpses of Maureen in your other pics. As the old timers would say…”she’s easy on the eyes” Thanks for close up!! Without a doubt, Brian and Steve have the absolute best jobs ever…surrounded by all you stunning and smart women. Whew !!

Interesting twist on baked apples… I think I’ve only had one kind, something my grandmother makes, and I think they’re probably “traditional” or something. Anyway, how hot is ONJ still, at almost 60 years old?

WOW!! She was one of my childhood crushes, and now at 36 I STILL find her absolutely beautiful. Thanks for having her on F&F.

To Fox and Friends:
Alisyn, You looked great with Petra. I saved the picture to my wallpaper because you both are gorgeous and have the look of good friends. You look good doing what you do and she does too! Bye the way, i enjoyed your corkscrew dance at your wedding. I have just recently turned on my TV in the morning and caught Fox and Friends. It almost makes me late for work because you all are a really good fit and especially in the morning before work. puts me in a good mood. i am sorry i have not watched more. I am thankful for your show. Mark

Hello Alisyn, thanks for sharing that recipe. I am a huge fan of Olivia, and I do remember Physical! lol

I was wondering if you could pull some strings and get someone to put Olivia’s performance from Fox & Friends Sunday online at the Fox News website. I hope someone will put it on the internet, because I unfortunately missed it. Fox News Online only has the performance from Friday of ‘Christmas on My Radio’.

I hope you can put a word in! It’s worth a try!

Wishing you peace in your career,
Paul
