Gretchen likes Spankin’

Did you just hear that harmonious homage to Gretchen at 7:45 this morning?  She’d complained earlier in the week that there were no songs written for Gretchen.  (I hate to bring this up but ”Alison” by Elvis Costello is one of the all-time great love songs).   So Joey Salvia composed a ditty for her.  Joey is Brian’s technical producer on his radio show and he has the uncanny ability to dash off funny ditties.  In case you missed it, here are the lyrics:

THE GRETCHEN SONG:

Gretchen, she likes spankin’,

sometimes Brian and her children too Gretchen, yes she’s fetchin’,

and like Rover she’s a girl too

There’ve been songs about girls,

Linda, Alison, Caroline, Peggy, Donna and Dawn

So i sing this sing-a-long for your attention

Yeah you’re fetchin’ ooh Gretchen

Gretchen I sing this for you

———————————————

And here’s another one that Joey didn’t sing on the show about Brian (please sing to the tune of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”)

THE BROWN HAIRED GUY’S X-MAS SONG

You know Gretchen and Hemmer and Megan and Courtney

Geraldo, Cavuto, O’Reilly and Gibby

But do you recall the most neglected one of them all

Brown-haired guy that’s not Steve Doocy

Isn’t it a crying shame he’s on fox every morning

still they cannot recall his name

Judge Andrew Napolitano laughs because he goes insane

Brown-haired guys who’s not Steve Doocy

behind that smile we can feel your pain

10 years working Fox & Friend all they ever say

brown-haired guy that’s a darned good wig

now is that a fair and balanced gig

Jon Stuart and Stephen Colbert

blame them for your misery

brown-haired guy who’s not Steve Doocy

well, it’s better then obscurity

Alisyn -

Helio Castroneves is pronounced “El-Lee-oh Castro-neh-ves” …

I bet Tony George is wishing he’d have scheduled the start of the Indy Racing Leaguge (IRL) season to be earlier than March 29th … which is the Homestead, Miami race … the first race of the season … so that he would’ve been able to capitalize on Helio’s winning of “Dancing With The Stars” …

We shouldn’t forget the great song “Alyson” by Rick Springfield. Not surprisingly one of my all time favorite songs! (Gee, I wonder why that is, hum.)
here is a clip of Rick playing it in concert a few weeks ago.

The lyrics to ‘Alyson’

Talk about life, imitating art
Well I was sure that I heard the Director yell,
“Take it from the start”
And I could feel my body crushing yours
Camera dollied into place
Your husband’s in the front row, I couldn’t look him in the face

Part of the pleasure was that it felt so wrong
But it grew too fast, too strong

Don’t you think your friends are talking Alyson?
They’re blaming it all on me
I’m blaming it all on love
Well don’t you think your friends are talking Alyson?
Just a little sexual tension
Under the guise of love

Young and tragic, I really felt the part
While we were sweating and screaming tearin’ out his heart
Well I was sure I heard the wind and the wires
Crying in sympathy
For star-crossed lovers, Ally that ain’t you or me

Part of the pleasure was that it felt so wrong
But it grew too fast, too strong

Don’t you think your friends are talking Alyson?
They’re blaming it all on me
I’m blaming it all on love
Well don’t you think your friends are talking Alyson?
Just a little sexual tension
Under the guise of love

For a limited run in to your local bedroom
We knew the curtain would be coming down soon
Reviews were mixed, the press was unkind
Ally I hope they will forgive us in time, in time

Part of the attraction was that we knew it couldn’t last
So we closed our eyes and held on

Don’t you thing your friends are talking Alyson?
Who were we trying to fool?
What was I thinking of?

Don’t you think your friends are talking Alyson?
They’re blaming it all on me
I’m blaming it all on love
Well don’t you think your friends are talking Alyson?
Just a little sexual tension
Under the guise of love

I enjoyed this guy’s singing, he is very good. I love Colbert’s jab at Brian, it all makes sense now that I know he is a middle child. He and my middle son are so much alike.

Good Springfield song. I got to meet him when he was shooting a TV series called “High Tide”. He came out and sit by my nephews and I. He talked with the boys about fishing and letting them loose for other people to catch and other ordinary things. He was a genuine guy who’s celebrity hadn’t phased him. I cant say that about his co-star, “Old Whats His Name”.

Alisyn you should record the above songs and have the tech’s put them up for us.

I watch Fox and Friends daily, most of the time. Twice lately, you have aggrevated me to the point that I turned you off.

What’s with constantly making Brian the butt of your jokes? Is it because you can? It certainly does not make the rest of you appear any more intelligent. The joke isn’t funny unless Brian can laugh too, and frequently, he doesn’t laugh.
