Bon Jovi Helps

I’m still basking in my Bon Jovi Glow from last night (wait, that doesn’t sound right).  Went to Philly yesterday afternoon to meet and interview Jon Bon Jovi.   He’s just helped build 13 houses there for working people who’ve struggled with homelessness.   I figured we’d instantly bond when I mentioned that we share a hometown in New Jersey.   (I imagined us arm and arm singing “take my hand and we’ll make it I swear.”)  But, oddly, he didn’t seem that impressed;  it seemed like maybe he’d heard that one before.  But his jaw DID drop in stunned amazement when I informed him that I am a proud graduate of the teeny tiny schoolhouse (only 50 kids from K-8) called The New School of Monmouth County from which his daughter just graduated as well.   We excitedly chatted about our favorite teacher (mine is still there!) and the unique experience our families had.  By the end of the shoot, Bon Jovi was my new BFF.

But here’s the bad news:  there was an assembly-line of reporters waiting for my one-on-one interview with him to be done so they could get their crack.  Their evening newscast deadlines were fast approaching… his handlers were tapping their feet and checking their watches.  So, I didn’t have time to ask him your great questions about music or Richie’s love life or his appreciation for Jersey Girls.

Tune in Wednesday morning to see what happened…

Great After Show Alisyn. I can remember as a kid, (way back when they only had 3 channels on tv) they would show the rerun only once a year December 7. We would talk about it coming on for weeks before waiting to see it. Now that I have it on DVD and all the channels rerunning the show I havent watched it in years.

I think Jon also built a few houses in New Orleans too Alyson. He seems to have a heart for people. Amazing story about the school. I bet he did light up, so many talk about non important things.

AAwwww sounds like a great interview…..and to personalize it….good job! Too funny about the “Handlers”….Jon Bon Jovi and handlers hmmmmmm sounds like it has always been!!! Though these ones were probably big burly scruffy guys!!! LOL The best thing about Jon Bon Jovi…..is his heart! And a close second is the fact that he can sing just a bit!

This is a great jester, but would like to see the house in a year from now. I watched Jimmy Carter’s mess with humanity housing, and I will show you house’s that were built and now are turned into junk. I hope that does not happen here, but would hope you follow up on this story and show us several homes in the future. Love your show. Doug Jaeger

I’m quite a fan of Bon Jovi, always been a rocker, but I’m also really involved in the community here in the San Pedro, CA area. Can you give me a link to a website where we can assist Bon Jovi through donations etc.? I love the concept of helping the homeless get their own homes.

Kris
