It’s Not Me!
Believe me, I tried. Oh, how I tried to respond to all your great comments last week. And this morning I’m relieved to report that it’s not me; there really is a technical glitch preventing me from writing back!! Phew. The Computer Help desk is working on it. Or so I’m told…
The show this morning has been more intense than we anticipated. We knew we’d be getting updates throughout the morning on the SoCal fires but we didn’t know just how close our reporter Adam Housley would be to the danger. He’d just finished telling us that he could feel the heat uncomfortably on his face when he suddenly had to high-tail it out of there and get to a safe place. I’ll email him right now to make sure he and they crew are OK. And you can always check out his blog for a glimpse into all the action.

Adam is posting some great still shots of the fire at his blog. Do the on location news crews exercise safety precautions? Breathing in that toxic smoke could cause serious lung damage that might not show up until years later.
You’re right Michael. And I’m embarassed to admit that in the heat of the moment (no pun intended) we reporters are often so focused on getting the best shots and the most information that we have been known to put those goals ahead of personal safety. The best example, of course, was all the reporting from Ground Zero during 9/11, where everyone basically overlooked personal well-being for the larger cause. But Adam seems to be reporting very responsibly and following all the instructions of the fire captain about which vantage point is best for his reports.
Alisyn, Bills over Raven?, thank goodness for baseball.
Alisyn,
No worries, respond when you can!
Go Red Socks!!! Alisyn called it. She said they would pull it out and win! I am sure the Sox heard Alisyn’s cheering them and that is what gave them the will to win.
Alisyn, any shots of your wearing a Red Socks ballcap or jersey?
Could you please tell me the name of the author who was on your show that you and Steve were interviewing? She wrote a book about taking some steps to self improvement. I would like her name and the name of the book. I believe she was on last Wednesday morning. Thank you Peggy
Red Sox blah ever since the Cubs were exed out in the first round who cares. Wake me when October ends GO Rockies
Peggy,
I think you are talking about Mary T. Browne. Alisyn and Steve interviewed Browne on Thursday 10/18.
Browne claims to be a psychic. She was being interviewed about her new book, “The 5 Rules of Thought”. It is available at http://www.amazon.com
The only other person I think Alisyn interviewed about a book was Amy Grant. That interview was on Wednesday 10/17. Steve and The Judge joined Alisyn for that interview. Amy Grant has written the book, “Mosaic”. You can find more about it at Amy’s website. http://www.amygrant.com
I hope that helps you find the book you were looking for.
Alisyn - That’s good to hear, because we like Adam and his constant updates. I did see some of the reporters wearing safety glasses and face mask. One burning building can emit an enormous amount of toxic fumes, because of all the petroleum based products used in its construction and furnishings. I can only imagine what must be in the air with a fire of this catastrophic size.
9/11 is a great example, because the inhalation of the dust particles that consumed the area has indeed caused harm to many long after the initial attack.
As an aside, how can officials be confident about any data concerning death and injury at this time?
Rocky Mountain High Colorado—————-Rocky Mountain High Colorado
I think that it would be great to have Todd Helton in the winning World Series Game since we had Peyton Manning on the winning Super Bowl Team and the both are from University of Tennessee .
Both guys WORLD CHAMPIONS IN THE SAME YEAR AND BOTH PLAYED AT TENNESSEE
ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH
Glad to hear this was a technical problem and not an attitude problem lol Have a great day and thanks for the post.
Good Morning Alisyn,
I understand computer glitches. That seems to be the thing they do best sometimes! Hang tough it will get better but John McCain will not. He is a traiter all the way to the bone!
You look great and I always enjoy you.
McLean and not McCain
Alisyn, What happened to the usual weekend anchors, Greg, Page and Kelly? There wasn’t any mention of their absence. As a faithful viewer, I’m bummed and upset with Fox is they’ve been removed.
Who is behind-the-camera panning it back-and-forth?
This “nanny-cam” is a scam!
