Alisyn in the Greenroom

A Sneak Peek at Next Monday’s Segment!

It’s my first day with this new live blog! I’d love to hear what you think — leave me some comments below!

Quote of the day:

“This is the only show where I’ll come early and stay late just to see who shows up. I love this greenroom. I’ve met the Supremes, hung out with Michelle Phillips from the Mamas and the Papas, lectured Jerry Springer, had a long talk with actor Fred Willard and an argument with Phil Donahue. This is the best place.” — Pollster Fred Luntz, overheard in the greenroom, 10/09/07

A BUS FULL OF BROTHERS

dsc00260.jpg

The Brothers Romney jumped off their family bus on Tuesday to climb aboard the greenroom express! They did a drive-by on their way to Michigan to cheer their father on in a debate. There are five of these guys. All super friendly, all handsome. All have those chiseled Romney features. All aroused the interest of some of our female staffers, who afterward each picked a favorite. But sorry ladies, most of them are spoken for, as you’ll see when you check out their family photos on their blog (does anyone NOT have a blog?)

BREAKFAST WITH A BRADY!

dsc00281.jpg

There she was, an icon from our childhood: Carol Brady! And she brought breakfast for us – fresh baked muffins and cranberry bread. It almost felt like Mrs. Brady was our Mom. Florence Henderson could not be a more gracious greenroom guest. She and I bonded over our strong support of fat. The good fat, mind you. Not fatty fast food but the healthy fats: avocado, nuts, vegetable oils. She swears by them and thinks they help keep her young. She also does yoga every day. Hey, whatever she’s eating, I’ll try it.

AND NOW … A SNEAK PEEK AT FRIDAY’S SHOW!

Check out some behind-the-scenes pictures from my shoot this week. If you watch much FOX & Friends you know that I’ve developed a specialty in life-threatening (or at least career-threatening) stunts that involve a lot of what we like to call in the business “reporter involvement”, which is a fancy term for “humiliation.” (Does the term “Sphere of Death” ring any bells? How bout “Stunt Car Driver?”) Well, here comes the next story this one just may be the more embarrassing of all. I’m not, how do you say, “athletic.” So it was particularly amusing (to my husband) when I got the assignment to try out for the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team.

He fears that no one can truly appreciate the depth of my sports ineptitude but perhaps you’ll get some sense when I mention how often during the game I had to ask the players to remind me exactly which basket I was shooting for. I also learned that there’s a rule in basketball against something called “traveling,” which frankly seems misguided. I say however you can get that ball down the court, go for it. I’ll bring you the story on Monday’s show…unless I’m drafted by the Knicks first.

Alysin,

I’m looking forward to reviewing daily. Would love to know more about greenroom makeup.
Who wants it, who refuses it. What does what regarding light, blemishes, bringout out features, etc.

I think this could be made into an interesting subject. That and cat fights in the green room!!!!

Hello Alisyn,

I like all your poses on the Fox&Friends News cuts!

I still think you need to rename the Friends First segment from Fox&friends First
to — Ali & Friends First. or if you prefer Alisyn.

I always love seeing updates to the blog Alisyn!

I hope someone in the tech dept is going to link up the previous photos and blog entries.

Making the pictures larger would be nice. We want to be able to see that beautiful smile better!

Ali - Great pictures! Love the behind-the-scenes stuff. You’re infectious and sweet. Plus your humiliation - Ooops - I mean “reporter involvement” is what makes you so endearing to your adoring public. Awesome!

Comment by Wendy, Los Angeles

Alisyn, didn’t even know you had a blog….I’m a loyal Gretawire blogger, but then I started noticing all these other blogs on foxnews.com. keep up the great work - great pictures, by the way.

This is cool! I didn’t even know all you Fox people had blogs. I’ve followed Greta’s blog for a long time and enjoy the fact she has made it more personal and accessible to all of us people that seem to have a million questions.

I have now added you to my list of things to do. Hmmmm, did that sound right? 8)

Btw, what does Marcia, Marcia, Marcia say about Florence Henderson in her tell all book?

Comment by Karen T

Alisyn,

Shep doesn’t have a blog. Please tell him that his viewers are demanding that he starts one.

Nice photo of you with Florence! Must have been nice meeting her… we all grew up watching her.

Nice photo of you with the Romney brothers… (do you have any of Shep?)

Thanks for starting the blog… sometimes we get tired of harassing Greta and Adam… we need somebody new who will allow us to voice our opinions

Alysin - You were hilarious this morning! The producers know what they are doing when you get the plum assignments to have fun - without losing your dignity! And you did impress the players with your dribbling under your legs (at least in that little segment the editors left in!)
:-)

Hey Ali, Caught you on Red Eye last night. Did that bring back some memories when you said
“You came of age” with the song” Paradise by the Dashboard Light” You would have fit in with me and my friends hanging out in my parents basement listening to records and, well you get the idea. Enjoy seeing you on F&F every morning.

Comment by Kathy Harding

My husband & I watch you folks every AM down here in SC while we get ready for work. Other than local news, we don’t even watch the “other guys any more”. We appreciate the news, enjoy hearing everyone’s opinions, and especially appreciate the humor/ picking/ teasing ya’ll take so well. Ya’ll feel like family. Keep up the great reporting of the news!

I was disappointed I could not locate the video you talked about today, where we get to meet your family…what’s up with that?

Wishing ya’ll the very best for the holiday season - and regardless of being politically correct or not, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EACH AND EVERY ONE!
